The food looked as good as it tasted. The pastry was fresh, warm, and balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. It paired perfectly with the wine. The wine list was wonderful. There were plenty of options, and it felt well chosen, not overwhelming. The rosé we had was crisp and light, which worked great for lunch. Service stayed attentive without rushing anything. Overall, this spot works well for a laid back but elevated girls lunch.

We came for lunch on a Tuesday at noon, expecting to miss any crowds or waits. There were about 5ish tables seated, so we were confused why the kitchen was so backed up. We both ordered a salad....and waited over an hour and 15 minutes. At this point I could have went to the store to make it myself. Unfortunately the quality was bad on top of the wait times and that's why I am writing this review. I'm disappointed that I brought my family here from out of town, we wanted to enjoy lunch and eat together, but it resorted in her eating cold chicken 20 minutes before me, and me eating lettuce drenched in dressing out of the plastic to-go container, which I didn't ask for They made it right by comping my salad and offering a free cookie, but due to the experience I don't want to give them a second shot. Very disappointed

Perhaps the counter attendant is related to the owners, based on the confidence with which she displayed her disdain for communicating with a customer. As I read other yelp past reviews especially the WiFi one, I can picture the non- working WiFi scene vividly. The woman I worked with today must be the same employee that was so apathetic with the messed up WiFi. One entering a great little cafe like this one as a respite, deserves better treatment than I witnessed. I love the food at Hereghty. But not so much it's worth the bad taste the mistreatment left in my head.

My client recommended Hereghty Heavenly Delicious for their pan au chocolate, laptop-friendly space, and great drinks. Unfortunately, they were out of pan au chocolate (a bummer, but not a dealbreaker), so I ordered a sugar-free vanilla matcha with oat milk for $8.21 (tip included). Before ordering, I mentioned to the barista that I was there specifically to work from my laptop. She knew the internet wasn't working but didn't mention it--so I bought my drink, got settled, and then discovered I couldn't connect. When I asked her fi the internet was working she just said, "Nope," like it wasn't a big deal. Definitely not what I wanted to hear after planning to spend the afternoon there. Hoping for a solution, I asked another staff member (maybe the owner?), who told me the WiFi was working fine for them in the back. When I explained it wasn't working for me and what I had tried, she just kind of shrugged. I totally get that they're not tech support, but a little effort to help or at least acknowledge the situation would have been nice. At that point, I packed up and found another coffee shop 20 minutes away that ended up being amazing--great vibe, solid internet, and a menu that had me wishing I had come there first. But then, in true "one of those days" fashion, I realized I left my computer charger at Hereghty (are you kidding me!), so back I went before giving up on staying in Raleigh and heading home. That said, Hereghty does have some good things going for it: A nice selection of pastries A normal café drink and food menu A quiet, cozy atmosphere Plenty of seating inside and out A convenient location with lots of parking Maybe it was just an off day for all of us, but the lack of communication about the WiFi and the indifferent response left me a little disappointed. If you're just popping in for a pastry and a drink, it's probably a nice spot! But if you need WiFi, I'd double-check before settling in.

This morning, I walked in and saw not one familiar face there, and I've come to learn all the staff walked out simultaneously weeks ago. After getting to know many of the staff over the years of frequenting there, anything to make every staff member walk out at the same time has to be big enough to leave a sour taste in your mouth. Am truly sad to see such a Raleigh staple not see the value in the community their staff created. Cheers to Joe, Brennan, Brett, amber, and all of the others past a present (shout out Tim and Casey and Jackie!) for their place in our lives over all of these years! If you are looking for a coffee nearby, jubala (pendo), black & white (videri), heirloom are all great options (and sir Walter coffee and 42 & Lawrence are decent and close)

It's a small space but there's plenty of outdoor seating (and I believe there is additional indoor seating next door). Loved my bacon, egg, and cheese croissant! Added a nice fruit salad too. Just love the vibe of this part of downtown Raleigh!
