I'm not a big coffee person but I personally think that the coffee here is really good! I had their clarified yuzu coffee and matcha latte and both of them are really good. The yuzu coffee has a good balance of sour and coffee. Not to mention that this store was located in an art gallery so it was an interesting concept and experience. Unfortunately, I just found out that it is a pop up otherwise I would have visited more often! Wynd Coffee... This cafe has some unique coffee concoctions. I tried of their signature drinks, clarified yuzu coffee punch. It has a mix of ingredients that you wouldn't expect to look like a tea. The barista mentioned this drink is pre-prepared since it takes a process to make. Mixing milk, yuzu, citrus and coffee and letting it sit for hours to form curds. Then it's strained through cheesecloth to remove the curds and out comes a tea looking type drink. What happens to the solids? Cheese anyone? Anyways, this drink is served with a block of ice. Similar to one used for an old fashioned. It's topped with lemon zest and dried orange slice. It's meant for sipping and enjoying. This drink reminds me of a lemon tea and refreshing on a warm day. For their other signature drinks, they have a tres leches latte and muscovado latte. This cafe is worth a try if you're into single origin coffee. read more

I drove by so many times, but it was always closed because back then, they were only open on the weekends. I am off on weekdays more often, so for me, it was tough. So I was never lucky enough to pay a visit until today. I noticed they have updated hours now, which is better. Parking can be difficult, but I got lucky and found one down the block. I got the Cloud Matcha with Koji milk. How was it? It was creamy and smooth. It is to be stirred first and sipped instead of using a straw. Although I wanted a little more bold flavor of matcha to come out, Koji milk made it much more creamy, which I did not mind. It was expected because Koji milk is made with fermented rice and blended with oat milk, which they also call Koatji. I enjoyed it, but after literally 4 sips, it was gone; they put way too many ice cubes, and their ice cubes are pretty big. I paid more than $8 and tip, but while it was satisfying, I was extremely disappointed in the amount they serve. Also maybe ask for double matcha? I think so. The girl working there was nice and very informative, answering my questions. Maybe next time I am here, I should ask for easy ice and see if that will be any better. read more

Delicious pastries and drinks! I came during their soft opening with a group of friends after run. I ended up ordering the cloud matcha which was a cream top matcha. I would rate the cloud matcha 7/10. The matcha itself tasted good and not grassy. The cream top was thick and you could taste the heavy whipping cream in it. It coated my mouth with a milky film after drinking it. The sweetness was perfect. My husband got the tres leches. It also had a cream top. The coffee itself was smooth and not bitter. My husband rates the tres leches a 7.5/10. Next time I would definitely try the clarified yuzu coffee. My friends who got that really enjoyed it! We also got pastries. Love the matcha latte here. They really take their time in making your drink well, so the wait can be a little long but worth it. I got the koji milk alternative but note it doesn't really stand out flavor or texture wise, so you'll be fine getting oat if you want an alternative milk. Parking is a little tough though. It's smooth and refreshing, everything you'd want when the weather gets a bit warmer. I wasn't sure what to expect from the muscovado latte, but it tasted like a very delicious vanilla latte! There's some outdoor seating that can accommodate 2-4 people (or more if you grab chairs), but majority of their seating inside and outside will be for a very small group of people. Service: They are nice and accommodates the space to catching up with friends or stopping by for a drink while completing errands. Drinks and Food: -Cloud Matcha (5/5): If you appreciate a sweet tasting matcha drink, this choice is for you. It wasn't too strong in terms of flavor and it's a nice option to try rather than the standard matcha latte -matcha latte (5/5): You can always trust in this drink if you're afraid to try something new or if you're looking for a good matcha drink. - Muscovado Pudding (4/5): If you order this, you can only have it for in-store. Welcoming the newest addition to the Virgil neighborhood! Skimming through their menu, the Clarified Yuzu with Coffee caught my eye. It is an enjoyable drink with large craft ice, and I enjoyed its viscous texture. The yuzu flavor is subtle, and I could taste more of a caramel flavor, most likely from the coffee. It is a lovely, mild drink. I also tried their Matcha Cloud, and it was delicious! I consider it more of a dessert-type drink. The foam on top was so creamy, and the earthiness from the matcha gave a nice finish after every sip. They have a variety of pastries, ranging from savory, such as a ham and cheese croissant, to sweet, such as an orange snail, a type of glazed bun. I got their plain croissant, warmed up. It was around $23 plus tax for all three items. The owners were holding down the bar, handcrafting the drinks to order. Parking is more forgiving in this area. Wynd is probably one of the most unique coffee shops I've been to. The aesthetic is very clean and minimalistic and I think they are opening an art gallery soon. The drinks are delicious and you can really tell how much thought is put into the menu and creation of the drinks. I ordered the matcha cloud and it was very thick and creamy but the matcha flavor still shines through. My fiancé ordered the clarified yuzu coffee and it the taste is truly a novel experience. Wynd Coffee (est 2025) is a brand new modern tiny corner coffee shop in Virgil Village in East Hollywood. And they do serve as an art gallery as well which is yet to be seen. Wynd is currently open on weekends only as their soft opening and serves a menu of espresso drinks, matcha, and a few signature drinks such as Tres Leches. Indoor layout and space were limited and may feel claustrophobic especially when it's crowded. Its interior decor was minimal with few small tables. Similarly, they do have some outdoor seats with street view for customers. I came here as a first time customer on a weekend to grab a coffee. I was perfunctorily greeted by a young blue eyed female barista with a curly brown hair. I ordered a hot Flat White coffee and Choc Croissant. My coffee was brewed perfectly; pastry was good. Atmosphere was lively and relaxing. Service can be slow given its current popularity. Customers were respectful and affable. I had a pleasure to confabulate with a young nice woman, while we waited for our drinks. We enjoyed our drinks and conversed on a breadth of topics from the best coffee places in LA to LA politics to Ktown BBQ to Runyon Canyon etc. Ok, let me get back on this awesome review. This coffee shop has plenty of potential. Coffee Prices are tad pricey albeit matched the quality of the drinks. However, I wish their regular cup size they serve at least my coffee wasn't a hobbit. I got influenced by @withbrandonn to try this place and I saw it on my way to Courage Bagels down the street. The clarified yuzu coffee is such a unique dink and if you like yuzu or citrusy things, you will love it. It didn't really taste like coffee exactly but I suppose that is not really the point. It's almost syrupy in texture but very smooth without hints of bitterness. Also beware that there is milk in the drink even though it appears clear! $8 for the tiny drink is kinda diabolical but it's definitely a drink worth trying once for the experience. As if one newcomer wasn't enough, the area now came with another one, Wynd, located right across Good Friend. Finally after several pop-ups Wynd now opens every weekend. A simple small space by the corner, with few tables for 2-3 both inside and outside. The menu was still pretty limited, but I would say enough selections to choose from and did feature some of their signature ones. Prolly being relatively new as well, the line might get lengthy and wouldn't be easy to find seats. So it would surely not a surprise that by noon the pastry case only left with a piece of cookie. The serving time was impressively swift though despite being pretty busy. As of now, it was surely more like order, sip, and go instead of hanging for awhile given the hectic space. I got their Musvocado Latte with almond milk, which came with tad steep additional 75p charge. Nonetheless, the coffee was outstanding; perfect level of boldness with light touch of acidity, well balanced by the sweetness and caramel hint from the musvocado sugar. I came for the clarified yuzu espresso and it was everything I was looking for. This spot is only open on the weekends, so I prepared myself to arrive a few minutes before it opened on Saturday. I was the only person in line since I feared Japan lines. More people came in after the 9am opening, but I was glad to be first. I got a few pastries (excellent viennoiserie! although, they didn't heat up the spinach pastry all the way through), the clarified yuzu espresso (crisper and cleaner than I thought...tiny portion though. I still needed another coffee after this.), and egg pudding (not brown sugary enough, good eggy texture, I had a better version in the Blue Bottle at Tokyo). I would come back to this spot if not for the absolutely horrendous parking situation. There are no parking spots for the residents so the only spot you can take is if someone leaves. I never thought parking could be worse than trying to go to Sunset but East Hollywood takes the cake of giving up and parking illegally to get your hipster treats. This was my first visit, and I really liked the space. They have a great setup and an efficient system for fast service. However, I think there's room for improvement with their drinks. My latte had more milk than I prefer, though it was still enjoyable I think it could be better. On the other hand, the yuzu drink was excellent and well-balanced. Primarily my coffee is drunk at gas stations and donut shops, born out of energetic necessity and I am more or less unfamiliar with drinking it recreationally. I went into Wynd Coffee with apprehension and left feeling welcomed and satisfied, a result of the owners' dedicated vision to an accessible approach to the depths of coffee culture. People cut from a very hip cloth filled every seat of the space, the decor utterly lacking in pretension, and I scanned the homely cups to decide my drink order: the very popular yuzu coffee. I took a gingerly sip of it, and was struck by how clean and clear the taste of yuzu was while hiding a slight bitter note of coffee. I wanted to order another, but was informed that said clean taste hides a concentration of caffeine, and reconsidered. The owner informed me that they clarify the milk overnight with an exactitude for quality that if the standard for their taste test isn't achieved the following morning, the whole batch is discarded. The quality control is intense, I thought to myself, but a certain standard has to be enforced for such an enjoyable, unique cup as the one I had. One imagines a future where that same eye for detail is pored over the future art exhibitions to be showcased on their blank canvas of a wall, and one cannot help but be excited about the development of a nice little coffee shop still taking burgeoning, yet surprisingly well-defined steps. read more

There is very little street parking and can get tight, we got lucky and got one right in the neighborhood but it can get tricky. This shop was pretty pricey but the quality of the matcha was solid, I thought the cloud was too sweet and did not have a strong matcha flavor but the normal latte was solid with no sweetener. The shop is really nice but can get cramped with everyone trying to fit inside, only a few small tables but most people grab & go, more of a place to talk with friends\hangout , cant see myself getting work done here. The shop itself is cute & small, found a table & was able to read there for a bit.
