My new Tesla Model Y has a 4 inch scratch on the side door, due to my lousy parking skill. I was given an estimate at another Tesla certified body shop. Dishonest business. They upsell as much as they can get from insurance companies. I had a bad experience here a couple years ago. I won't return. Their first quote was reasonable, several hundred to fix a small broken window from vandalism. They then increased the quote, incredibly higher by $1000 or more, to match what insurance was willing to cover. Xcel advised MUCH MORE WORK than was necessary. Then they replaced a "new" expensive 5-6 foot piece of chrome over the windows. The "new" part had visible damage. I had them put the original chrome back- it was perfect. I don't know what I expected, but this exceeds my expectations. I was rear ended and had repairs done through insurance. Emily from Xcel helped do an evaluation, coordinate with insurance, pre-order all the parts, and text me updates. When parts arrived, they helped coordinate rental car. I dropped off my vehicle for repair on a Wednesday morning and it was done 2 days later Friday at noon. My car has some minor issues after it got fixed at this shop. First I gave this shop 5 stars because they did good job at painting and fixed car pretty quickly. But after a few month, i found some issues on my car. They replaced the tesla logo but the adhesive didnt stick well so the tesla badge was kind pop out ( i attached photos below). Second, the back trim panel also pop out and i found a broken clip inside. Contacted the shop,and Emily did help me fix it. However, last week I noticed it start pop out again. I looked inside the broken was not replaced, their technician did not fix it correctly. I guess he just removed that broken clip and push the panel back and over the time, the trim will pop out again. I decided to contact Tesla to fix it for me instead of bring it back to shop again. I believe the shop owner should pay more attention on their technicians when they perform their job. I don't want to bring my car to fix and they broken something else. This review is mostly for Dai. He's awesome!!! I got into an unfortunate accident where someone hit me on my Kia Forte 2020, causing my passenger door to not open and a few other dents. I gave Xcel a call and they set me up an appointment right away. Brought in my car, filled out some forms and Dai was RIGHT on it!!! He kept me updated everyday with pictures (highly helpful), and worked with insurance and made everything so easy for me. My repair estimate from the other party's insurance was much higher than their coverage which was 5,000. Dai helped me reduce the price of my repairs to 5,000 EXACTLY so I wouldn't have to pay out of my own pocket.. Dai called me back to come in to review some of my parts that we wanted to re use. Schedules are extremely flexible. The whole insurance process and the shipment of my parts which were somewhat hard to find delayed everything but I got back my car in perfect condition- and pretty fast too. I had a fantastic first experience with Xcel, and can highly recommend them if your Tesla has damage. I had someone make an illegal left in front of me and wound up hitting them. The car was drivable, but the bumper and passenger side headlight were toast. I'd heard so many horror stories about getting Teslas repaired, mostly due to lead times on parts, but my car was in and out in just over two weeks, including the time it took to order additional parts and get insurance approval for damage discovered once the car was taken apart. (The official Tesla body shop in San Jose wouldn't have even seen me for another week from today. Other Tesla-approved body shops were a similar story.) I can honestly say that, after repair, my car is in better shape than it was delivered. The paint is a perfect match and gorgeous, and they fixed all the panel alignment issues that Tesla wouldn't. Wind noise is dramatically down since the repair, which is a nice bonus. Mike, Kevin, and the whole team were amazing. The genesis of my experience with Xcel started in a Costco parking lot, when another car backed into our rare bumper. To the naked eye, nothing looked out of place other than a dented rare parking sensor. I then took our car to our insurance estimator who allowed us to choose our body shop. We chose Xcel because of their convenient location and yelp ratings, plus they're Subaru certified. They took charge of the process from beginning to end. The only thing we had to do was pay our deductible. As with all cases, the cost to completely repair the damages was more than the insurance estimate. Emily kept us apprised of everything that was going on and they dealt directly with our insurance provider. Again, all we had to do was pay the deductible. If you're looking for the short and sweet - go here. They're one of the best businesses I've had the pleasure of being a customer of, regardless of industries. Dai is a top notch and trustworthy owner, and you won't regret it. If you're looking for the long, well: My car was recently hit in a parking lot accident. It was average damage to the back bumper, but still enough to make me want to fix it. The other driver was at fault, and gave me his State Farm insurance. After going through claims with State Farm, they gave me a list of their highly recommended shops in the area, and let me know that I can still choose my own shop. I asked my cousin for advice, and he said that he goes to Xcel Collision Center, and that I should ignore the list and go to Xcel as well. I trusted him, since he's much more particular about his car than I am, and his car is much more expensive than mine's. I called up State Farm and let them know. State Farm also gave me a Hertz rental. Unfortunately, the closest one to the shop told me that they were out of cars for the foreseeable future, and that I would have to go to another Hertz location (about 10 miles further). Dai actually knows the closer Hertz location, so he called and asked them to immediately give a call back when a car became available. While I was filling out paperwork at the appointment, he already called Hertz to bring a driver over to his shop and drive me there. Efficient without me asking, I love it. Speaking of paperwork, he gave a succinct summary of everything he had me sign as well as what he was going to do to to fix the car. Just enough so that I had an idea without bothering with extraneous details. Of course, he was willing to answer any questions I had when I needed clarity. Throughout the entire process, he kept me updated via text message (you can of course ask for him not to). In fact, he let me know when the State Farm rep was coming and when the State Farm rep approved the repair before State Farm did. He always texted me when he was doing something, and always gave a picture of the bumper at the time. When I realized that the sensors on my back bumper could've suffered damage, I asked him about it, and he said he had already checked it out and that it was fine. At the end of the repair, when the bumper was back on, he sent me a video of the sensors working fine to me. At the end, he let me know that the repair was finished, and scheduled a time for me to come in and get my car. And let me say wow, he might've just bought me a new bumper because it looked better than it did before my accident. He also washed my car and cleaned the interior for me. I also was allowed to drop off my car rental at the shop and leave my keys with him - again, he knows the Hertz location and he arranged for them to come by and pick up the car.
