So so good. The hand pulled noodles are probably the best think I have ever eaten in my life. Service is amazing and there is always plenty of seating. I will admit the lamb skewers were not it. Suuuuuuper salty and tough, I could even finish 1 because it tasted like too much salt. We also got the wontons in chili sauce which were good when I've had them in the past, but this time the sauce was also waaaaaay too salty. This is one of my favorite spots on the Ave! Please try it, it's so good! The noodles are made so good, and this egg & tomato stir fry is such a great vegetarian option. It never disappoints me. Another good recommendation is the tingly beef -- a winner for sure. PRO TIP: Add on the chili sauce, it's So Good. The beef pancake/burger thing is something I just tried, and personally I would've liked it better if it was saucier? I liked it though but definitely could've used some more sauce or something. Lack of ambiance (no seating still) and portion size drop this spot a bit for me. I love my wide noodles and Chinese food though, so there's definitely some bias. Great hand-pulled Biang Biang noodles and spicy levels. Most, if not all noodles are spicy by default and you can ask for more or less. I wish there was more content to each dish, especially vegetables. I find Xi'an Noodles more of a snack than a full meal compared to some other restaurants while being the same price (~15+). Tingly Beef Biang Noodles (in soup) - think beef noodle soup but with wide noodles and shredded beef. As with to-go soup orders everywhere, the soup is separate so your noodles don't get soggy. Noodles were a bit thin, despite being wide so they soaked up the soup faster and got soggy fairly fast, so try to eat a bit faster. However, the portion isn't big so it's manageable. Spicy Tingly Beef Biang Noodles - basically the dry version of above. All your shredded beef doesn't get lost in the soup at least. Spicy Cumin Lamb Biang Noodles - if you like lamb, this is great. I mean all the noodle dishes are very similar so this is the same as the beef noodles above, but just with lamb. The cumin is not too strong. read more

We saw this on YouTube from one of our favorite food vloggers and have been wanting to check it out! We really love hand pulled needles and these were really good! My husband got the Tingly Beef Biang Noodles with no soup, he saw this girl who knew what was good ordering so he asked her what she got. You can control the spiciness and we just went with regular but you can request no spice or extra spicy to your liking. I ordered a rice noodle soup with cumin lamb regular spiciness and we also got wontons in spicy chili sauce and a cumin lamb bun or I think they call it a burger. This place seems to do a lot of take out as it is right in the U District and caters to the college students in the area but you also know it has to be pretty legit, lots of International students longing for the flavors of home. The interior is spacious and very clean, it can accommodate small & large parties and they also have a covered outdoor seating area right out front. We sat at a window booth since it was getting a little dark & I didn't want to have to worry about bugs outside. My husband's Biang Noodles with Tingly Beef were really good, great texture, super long and really wide. There was a little bit of nappa cabbages julienned throughout the dish for added texture and the thin slices of beef were flavorful ...this dish was also the right level of spiciness for us at REGULAR, my husband & I don't like it when our mouth is on fire so if you like it spicy, you can order it extra spicy. We got an extra side of beef on accident since you order at a kiosk in the front but it was perfect for our leftovers that we brought to our daughter. My cumin lamb rice noodle soup was so good too. Not too spicy for me at RGULAR spice level. It also had think sliced Napa cabbage and small wood ear mushroom in the broth, so good. Our wonton came in a super flavorful broth, a little soupier than you normally see, there was still chili oil but you could drink the broth. My husband really lives this dish whenever he sees it on a menu. These wontons were very flavorful with lots of chives and pork, not just all pork which I really appreciated. The cumin lamb bun was really good, the bun was toasted on the outside and it was stuffed with thin slices on lamb sautéed with cumin. My husband started dipping it in his spicy chili wonton broth but I thought it was even better dipped in my cumin lamb noodle soup. Instead of a French Dip a Xi'an dip...yummmmmm! Food came out fast and nice and hot! They were only open until 9 PM but they had a steady flow of customers coming in well past 8:30, lots of Asian customers too...and that's a good sign. Been in the mood for some spicy noodles and biang noodles were really spicy the last time I had it, so I wanted to get it again and found this place. I was hoping to dine-in, but unfortunately, they were doing only to-go orders. They did set up a tented bench area out front for those wanting to eat there, so that's nice. They use self service kiosk stations for ordering which was easy and simple. They use a ticketing system for picking up your order after using the kiosk, so it's easy to know when your order is ready. I got the Cumin Lamb Biang Noodles without the soup and got it extra spicy. I also wanted to get the pot stickers cause I want to start doing my own personal reviews of restaurant pot stickers. Shooting to find the best! My girlfriend got the Mount Qi Pork Biang Noodle Soup. A bit disappointed that mine wasn't spicy enough still even though I asked for extra spicy. No numbing sensation, sweat, or burning. The noodles were thick and chewy. Definitely handmade. The taste was fine, not really memorable though. Maybe I was just really disappointed with the lack of spice. Potstickers were alright. The wrapping looks to be handmade too, so I appreciated that. Would've liked it to be pan fried a bit longer so they could be crispier. I tried some of the soup and it was good. It was just regular spice for that entree. Felt a small kick, but I would just consider that mild. The food kind of just went through me cause after I was done eating, I really needed a restroom. The restaurant didn't have one for the public, so we went to the bar next door and got a beer so I didn't feel guilty about using their restroom. So they did have the spice that triggers the body in that sense, still not spicy though. I think I'll need to order a side for hot chili oil which they charge 50 cents for, but I think it's going to be necessary if you're looking to really spice up your meals here. I was first introduced to hand ripped noodles during my trip to New York a couple years ago courtesy of Xi'an Famous Foods. After that trip I searched for something similar in Seattle and bookmarked this place. Only now years later did I finally make the stop to eat here. When you walk in you self-order on the TV and they will send you a text when your order is ready. The food came out quickly and they have covered patio seating outside. I ordered the spicy cumin lamb hand ripped noodles (N1 - $12.99). I got it with the normal spice level but I'd probably get it with extra spicy next time. The noodles were pretty wide and chewy and were slightly more thick than I would've liked but weren't bad. I would've preferred larger pieces of lamb instead of them being shredded but they were still good nonetheless. It's super flavorful and the onions, bell pepper, and lettuce help cut through the spiciness and fattiness. This is a nice spot for good Chinese comfort food that warms you up. read more

TLDR: YES COME HERE!!! Top notch Chinese food. Probably either my #1 or #2 of all my reviews on yelp as of writing. It was a typical gloomy and rainy Saturday when I came to check out Xi an Noodles. I first heard about them through a friend who told me about the best restaurants in Seattle's university district. Walking in, there was a sign saying that there was no inside seating, and that there was only the option to get takeout, and you had to order online. I was a bit dissapointed in that, but luckily there was a nice covered seating area right outside. I could also order on the yelp app through grubhub, which was pretty convenient. I ordered the cumin lamb biang noodles with no soup, which was only $12! Unfortunately, the dish was kinda small which I was a little dissapointed about. Despite the underwhelming serving size however, the food was absurdly tasty! The noodles had crunchy vegetables which balanced out the spicy oily sauce, and the lamb was really good and tender, with the cumin pairing really well. The cilantro also added freshness to dish which was really good with the big bold flavors of the rest of the dish. Whats more, the noodles were really nice and chewy, thick enough to have lots of substance but not too thick. Overall, I cannot give xian noodles any higher reccomendation. While the servings were a bit small, it was cheap and REALLY REALLY TASTY. read more
