Today was definitely the perfect day. Knowing what I know now as I write this review, we would return & bring friends here. It's about 78 to 80°F on a Friday a few minutes before 1 pm, surprisingly, it was low key--only a couple tables taken indoors by patrons and a set of guys on the patio. At the door, it said to seat ourselves & I immediately shot to the patio. The set up: once seated, the server comes with menus, you order & it's a sit down meal. Giselle was our friendly & attentive server, young & attentive. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito ($11.50) & I opted for build your own omelette $11.50 for a 3 egg omelette & choice of two items- mushroom and bell peppers accompanied with breakfast potatoes, and chilaquiles ($13.99) to share. The patio seating is fresh, airy, there are tables, outdoor furnitures (sofas) and bright orange umbrellas for shade. My photos captured these elements. The food arrived shortly, although not all at once. I didn't mind it all because the ambiance was so soothing with the sound of birds chirping away and the background of other patrons talking. The only complaint from Hubby was too many pototo chunks in his burrito. My omelette was hot, fresh ingredients, delectable & the potatoes were mixed with 3 colors of bellpeppers. Oh and the chilaquiles? Pretty darn good! The tortilla chips were crispy, perfect amount of green salsa, freshly diced onions & a sprinkling of cotija cheese. Was I famished or was it that good that I devoured everything? What's left was Hubby's potato chunk discards. Giselle returned a few times to ensure our experience is to our satisfaction & another staff also stopped by to check on us. Such a perfect meal & day-- I'm so happy with this visit. Parking is plentiful & free.

There is plenty of parking and it is easy to find. It is seat yourself once you arrive. We were greeted immediately and offered drinks. We got Dr. Peppers and ordered the BLT and beef melt sandwiches with French fries. When things are done in a simple manner, there leaves room for critique, but it was so well done. My beef melt was simple and tasty, and the bread was perfectly crispy on the edges. It was the right amount of texture and meat without leaving you overstuffed. My mom enjoyed her BLT and mentioned that the bacon was cooked perfectly. We definitely want to come back for the simple comfort food that is here. Our waitress was super friendly and let us know what the specials were for the day as well as gave us time and checked in on us. I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the mood for a no fuss, simplistic dining experience.

It was easy to order online and food was ready for pick up when we arrived. Luckily we remembered to ask for utensils and napkins before we left the restaurant. Pot pies were individual sized portions. They were warm with a hot filling. Hubby got the beef and I got the dark meat chicken. I think I would get white meat next time. There were good amounts of meat and veggies in each of our pies but we both agreed the filling could use more seasoning. The huge side of mashed potatoes and gravy were my favorite - warm, creamy, and yummy!

Just felt like Taiwanese breakfast this morning. After…read moreseeing the menu I think it's Chinese. There's street parking in the front, if you come early or on a slow day you can park at the front door. There's also parking in the back (I saw another customer walk in from the back) My order: 38 juicy pan fried pork bun 27 taiwanese salty rice roll 30 green onion pan cake. The pork buns were pretty solid, I prefer less outside breading, the over all taste is very good. The Taiwanese rice roll has a real thick layer of rice around it (too much for me) I think it could have used a little more pickled veggies and more of the Chinese donut inside. The green onion pan cake was really good nice and crispy. I took a bite before my pictures (had to shuffle the bit one to the back for the photo) I think they are more of a brunch place then breakfast, I walked in around 945 and it wasn't til after I placed my order did the restaurant started to fill up.

I saw a several tables that had just one person eating alone. -Purple rice roll (fan tuan) $7.19 - I added a tea egg for $1.79 extra. They put half on each end of the rice roll. The rice was sweet and there was too much of it. I would have enjoyed more pickled veggies (suan cai). -Hot soy milk (unsweet) $2.99 - Good, average. Sugar on the side, add to taste. -House crepe $6.69 - My first time trying this and I don't think I'd get it again. It's a thin sheet of egg with salty sauce and the deep fried cruller (you tiao). Server spoke Mandarin with heavy Chinese accent. Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom in the back.

5 Stars - A Hidden Culinary Gem in Alhambra! I brought some…read moreold friends to Sage Bistro in Alhambra once again, and we were treated to another incredibly satisfying feast. I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!

They were pretty busy at 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday but did not wait for a seat. Ordered the $17 burrito and was expecting something to be handheld but they do it ranchera style with red sauce and cheese topped all around it and on the sides and I'm glad they did because it was delicious. Well worth it; I eat burritos half this size for the same price in downtown LA. Ordered a side of hash browns they were solid as well. Only gripe would be that there wasn't much bacon or sausage in it (comes with both but needs more of both.) Melaniya served me proper. This was a great start we'll definitely be back to try the waffles always a gamble finding a crisp one, but they claim it so we will find out soon enough. It's a bit stuffy inside and loud as hell strange for a diner to be this loud but just saying. Still for what I ate it's an easy table pounder five star. Huge parking lot in the back that oddly had more cars than customers.

That's a sign of a great restaurant. When we went in, the servers were welcoming and it was packed on a Friday morning. We waited a few minutes before getting to our table and our server Gabby was the sweetest. She suggested the omelette (I forgot what specific type) and I'm so glad I took her suggestion. My food was awesome, a lot better than I was expecting. At first, I thought my portion was a little small, but I couldn't even finish my plate! The food is filling, flavorful, and everything was perfect. The positive ambience is a reflection of the quality service, food, and overall perspective of this restaurant. I thought it was so beautiful to see a bunch of elderly people coming for a morning mimosa, having coffee, reading, newspapers, and just mingling with each other. It gave me something to look forward to when I get older. I got a little sad when I seen a few elderly people alone. But when I realized maybe they go to Shakers because this is where their community is, I really felt the love. Go check it out, see what I'm talking about. I promise you won't regret it.
