    Chinese Noodle soup
    Sarah C.

Trinity is located within the Hilton San Gabriel lobby. The restaurant was mostly empty for breakfast except for a couple of tables. It was nice because it was quiet and relaxing. The staff as always, were amazing. They were warm, inviting and friendly. They were also very attentive without hovering. I absolutely loved that they offered congee for breakfast. As someone who would prefer not to eat a sweet breakfast, the alternative was wonderful. The congee was bland, but it came with several condiments to add your desired flavor. The dish came with pickled veggies, peanuts and meat floss. I used all of the condiments and added sriracha; tasty. We also ordered their Chinese noodle soup and that was packed with flavor. The bok choy and other components made the dish. My daughter ordered their French toast and she said it was the best she's had. We paid approximately $50 which already included the tip. The restaurant was non tipping.

This was one of our favorite places for lunch with friends, as people can get whatever that they liked at the buffet, then order some made-to-order noodle soup. I am so glad Trinity is re-opened with a new menu and a new buffet lineup. For this lunch meeting with friends, we ordered salmon, seabass, and steak, all were beyond delicious!! My friend's steak was served first, and the freshness of grill smell made all of us hungry, the meat was grilled to perfection, and the garlic, and butter added the right amount of seasoning to it. The seabass was the best that I have had in SGV in a long while, highly recommend it!

Never heard of a 'Semi buffet' before. ‍

Trinity is located on the lobby level of the Hilton hotel located on Valley Blvd. It gives me the impression of a hotel restaurant that's not doing very well, so they came up with a concept of a 'semi buffet', marketed, hoping to drum up business. Unfortunately it's not done very well. Trinity has been on print and TV ads among Asian publications. So we came to try them. Thinking it was around the holidays, they would be packed. But they were nearly empty when we arrived for lunch. The concept is you have a choice of: 1) 1/2 lobster 2) steak 3) salmon or 4) prawns. They all come with a few Piet of undercooked veggies for color and what tastes like powdered mashed potatoes. For the second course, you can choose an Asian dish, like pork belly, beef tenderloin, Buddha's Delight (vegetarian dish) and a few others. The buffet part includes unlimited visits to their noodle bar, salad bar, dessert bar. Drinks are also included. The salad bar is basically a large bowl of greens. So it's not really a bar. The dessert 'bar' is no more impressive than the salad bar. They served brownies, breakfast danishes and what looked like mango pudding, but isn't. It was way too sweet and had a powder mix taste to it. One spoonful was too much. The lobster was big, but bland. It was steamed and didn't even include butter. The steak was supposed to be medium rare but was closer to rare. Very red and chewy. I asked for herb butter sauce on the side, they gave me some random house steak sauce. The prawns were fishy and briny tasting. Not very good. We had to add salt and pepper on everything. The second course was much better. The French style beef tenderloin had a lot of flavor and were very tender. The Szechuan fish filet was a nice mellow kick and both went well with white rice. Their fried rice with Chinese sausage and a decent wok flavor. The noodle bar appears to have many choices listed on their digital menu, but they all use the same broth and were very mild in flavor. They only give one won ton for each bowl. We skipped the danishes but my kid wanted a brownie, which was average. The chicken soup in the self serve pot was actually pretty good, and so was the sweet red bean soup next to it. The service was OK. Nothing to boast nor complain about, but at least they were friendly. Trinity has a lot to improve on to tempt the hotel guests into its dining room when there are so many good eateries within walking distance, and at a much better value. If it can create a unique menu with decent price points, it can draw people from the community, not just hotel guests. For now, I'd say it's not really worth it to come try their semi buffet menu. Perhaps their a la carte menu of Chinese food would be better. I think 2.5 is more appropriate but the Asian dishes were tasty and we didn't have to wait for a table, so I rounded up to 3. See my photos!

They had a pretty good deal for the holidays: a western entree, a Chinese entree and a semi-buffet all for $32 a person. The western entree had you choose between steak, a half lobster, prawns or fish. My family got the steak, lobster and prawns. The steak was a bit on the small side but was very tender. The half lobster was pretty large! The semi-buffet included Chinese noodle soups, salad and light desserts. There wasn't too much variety but the soups tasted pretty good.

Add $10 for half fresh lobster

Trinity is located in Hilton San Gabriel lobby. Lunch buffet is $24.95 only serve on Friday Saturday and Sunday. Add $10 to have half of the lobster if you like lobster like me :)

This is the first time I been there for their lunch semi buffet. I love their idea: Semi-Buffet! I love their food great quality! Great chefs! Great servers! For sure, we will be back to enjoy their food, service, and atmosphere. Very happy customers!

The chef at the made-to-order station dropped a soup spoon on the floor and proceeded in using it afterwards to scoop soup for guests....gross! My mom kept raving about this buffet but I honestly think its just meh. For around $12 you get a majority of the brunch items which consists of mainly Chinese food. They have a variety of soups, desserts, and entrees, but the stand out items were at the made-to-order station where you can order wonton soup, beef noodle soup, minced pork with egg noodle soup, etc. I enjoyed the food until I found out from my cousin that he saw the chef use a spoon that he dropped on the ground. It seriously makes me doubt what kind of health standards they abide by. There's many other great restaurants in the area so I highly suggest looking into other options unless you want to chill around the Hilton hotel for the ambiance which is otherwise pretty nice.

    Craving station eh?

This buffet is located inside the San Gabriel Hilton! I came here for lunch with my family and I'd have to say, the food here is actually quite good. Not the biggest selection out there - they only serve a few traditional Asian-style dishes and a few Western-style things - but what they do have is undeniably tasty. There's also a tiny salad bar and some pastries and desserts, as well as fresh fruit and a couple soups to choose from. And they have a noodle station where they cook up a bowl of noodles right there for you! Who doesn't love a noodle station? I especially looved their salmon - soo incredibly juicy and flavorful. I could eat that salmon for days on end. Their steak was also pretty good, but obviously you can't compare it to what you can get at the big steakhouses in LA. My sister really liked it though. Definitely still worth a try. Overall though, for the price they charge per person I expected a lot more choices. The food is great but its such a ripoff because after one or two rounds, it gets very boring. If this place were more reasonably priced this would be somewhere I'd take friends but since its not, I guess I'll just have to pass. There are certainly more affordable and interesting places to eat at in this area.

Lunch buffet on Saturday was better than expected. The salmon was wonderful. Not a huge variety but what they did offer was solid

"rick, let's go! It's 5:35 already." "Give me 10 more minutes." "Get your ass up. You're talking gibberish." "Don't you ever sleep?" 10 mins later.. "Hilton San Gabriel.." "Morning. The restaurant please." "Hi. How can I help you?" "Is it open for breakfast yet?" "6:30, sir." "6:30, doug. Sleep more!" 40 mins later... "Where ya going? 101North is the other side!" "We're heading to Alhambra, not Universal." "There's a hilton there?" "Chinese has everything." 15 mins later.. "Wow. This place is nice. I didn't think it was a Hilton hotel." "Let's roll." "You sure we at the right place?" "Sh*t! wrong elevator. The other one will take us to the lobby." "Damn!! It's pretty" "Be cool." So trinity opens at 6:30am for its breakfast till 11 for its lunch, and their dinner starts at 6pm till 10. Breakfast is anything goes for 16 dollars a person. It has omelet bar, scramble eggs, french toast, waffles, bacon, sausage, porridge, oatmeals, salmon, turkey slices, ham slices, salmon, croissant, dim sum(turnip cake, eggplants and scallop with tofu) and fresh fruits. Fresh coffee, teas and oranges are served for beverages. "Oh man. damn you! I'm more drunk after eating." 5 hours later.. "Jill, you won't believe where rick took me 8 hours ago." "That's at 6, right?" "You're right! He took me to a buffet." "what!! No one opens that early. How do you find these places?" Guess what ya'll. "Dream On Dream On Dream On Dream until your dream comes true Dream On Dream On Dream On Dream until your dream comes through Dream On Dream On Dream On Dream On Dream On Dream On Dream On, AHHHHHHH Sing it with me, sing for the year sing for the laughter, sing for the tear sing it with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away Sing it with me, sing for the year sing for the laughter, sing for the tear Sing it with me, if it's just for today Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away......"

This is the buffet inside the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel. Let me say that this place is NOT good....I would never come here if I have to pay. Lunch was $15 per person (which I think is way too expensive for what you get). There was probably about 20 or maybe even less options to choose from! They weren't even good! The spoons to scoop the food were sticky. Many of the dishes had ran out by the time we got there. And they have this "sushi" section with 1 thats right 1! sushi thing. And it was NOT fresh.....and their wasabe sucked. Everyone references the service....but ITS A BUFFET!!!! WHO CARES ABOUT SERVICE!!!! I would not recommend this place...

    Dinner rolls, yummy!

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an upscale restaurant with a casual feel. Service is amazing, especially if you have Kai. Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

We powered through, and by the second half of our meal, most diners had finished and left us upstairs with only a couple of lingering parties. THEN this place became GREAT! Here's all that we stuffed ourselves with during the cacophony of chatter: flaky buttermilk biscuits, honey butter (3pc; please allow 20 minutes) - totally worth the 20 mins!! Super buttery and flaky, I might go back JUST FOR THIS! crispy calamari, horseradish cocktail sauce - great little kick in the sauce. Perfectly lightly battered. fideos, clams, chorizo, saffron, sweet sherry aïoli - mmmm, this was delicious. The Spanish chorizo enhanced the broth with a good saltiness. white shrimp from the griddle, aïoli - this was my favorite. The shrimp was not overcooked and peeled easily. The flavor was good enough to slurp the juices out. single burger, prime chuck, tillamook cheddar, dijonaise, egg brioche bun & crispy french fries - good meaty burger, love the dijonaise, GREAT shoestring fries. Parking is a little challenging during the day, not so bad in the evening. It's South Pas, a little neighborhood walk after dinner never hurts.

Delightfully understated atmosphere with unique tiles throughout the decor, and we loved that we could hear each other talk and enjoy each other's company. Our server was amazing, she was so knowledgeable while being personable and extremely funny. I assume she's the cook's wife based on the other reviews - I arrived a little after my aunts, so I didn't get a full introduction since they had already secured a table and had ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. I had my eye on 3 different meat dishes - the Roasted Duck Breast, the New Zealand Lamb, and the Angus Beef Ribeye Steak - and my aunts also had each picked 1 of those, so we went family style, and it did not disappoint!! The chef knows how to cook each type of meat to perfection, and the searing pans are doing exactly what they need to be doing! The Roast Duck Breast was AMAZING as cooked to the recommended medium, with delicious crispy skin. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak at medium rare was as tasty as it was gorgeous! And the New Zealand Lamb was PERFECTION, down to the bone. We also got the gourmet macaroni and cheese as an add-on side, since all the meals come with mashed potatoes and various veggies, and I was in heaven! As someone who used to work at the Disney Parks and frequented the steakhouses and other fine dining both here and in Orlando, Sage Bistro is giving Disney a run for its money when it comes to high-quality meat dishes! The prices reflect both the cut of the meats and the skill of preparation, with it averaging to about $50 each across the 3 of us, which is pretty reasonable for top-tier quality! The only thing I had to be careful about was that many of the dishes have mushrooms, and my throat gets itchy if I eat most mushrooms, so I had to avoid those dishes. During our meal, when I mentioned it to our server for future visits, she was great at noting which dishes could completely be modified to have no mushrooms while also being realistic about acknowledging the dishes that cannot be, which sadly includes the Braised Short Rib that sounds out of this world. But I can have the Beef Rib Soup, so I definitely want to try that next because I WILL BE BACK!!! They also offer takeaway, and were very generous in giving us each a coupon card to use for ordering through their website.
