So if you want to go into a sauna where they're too cheap to have you feel the ac on with a poor rendition of Korean food, this is the place for you. As soon as you get out of the car, the parking lot hits you with this wonderful aroma and you think to yourself "damn, I chose right." When you finally get your food and have been in there for a bit, you realize. You done f'd up. We were a group of 9. The service was horrible. They took their time getting our order; we had to repeatedly flag them down for refills on water and Banchan. What's worse is that we're in the heat of summer and it was hot in there. Our entire party was sweaty and my baby was overheating. I asked them if they had the ac on and they said they did. And I stared at them like "oh you kidding" and she just said she had her ac on. When I was about to leave I went to use the bathroom, you know what they had it set at? 80. Y'all 80 in the summer. This place is cheap and the service is horrible Top it off, the food was expensive and not good. The seafood pancake, I will say was pretty decent. However, we got the galbi jim combo and KBBQ combo. The galbijim was wrong. It tastes like what people who have never tasted Korean food thinks it tastes like (tangy and a bit sweet). It also looks like they cook it separately then they toss it into the dish. They forgot our steamed egg included in the combo. The Korean bbq that costs $50 is a couple of pieces. Overall, smells great but so somewhere else to spend hundreds of dollars. They'd rather be cheap than keep repeat customers.

We got the 枝竹茄子豆腐 or Bean Curd Sheet with Eggplant for $11.50, 椒絲腐乳通心菜 or Ong Choi with Bean Curd Sauce for $13.50, and 乾煎龍利 or Deep Fried Whole Fish for $11.50. We also got the 芝麻奶茶 or Sesame Milk Tea large size for $3.38. Lunch Special came with rice. The rice used to taste really good. This time the rice was alright, but still better than some restaurants. The 枝竹茄子豆腐 or Bean Curd Sheet with Eggplant tasted good. Be careful to not burn yourself when bitting into the steaming hot fried tofu. The 椒絲腐乳通心菜 or Ong Choi with Bean Curd Sauce was better this time and the flavoring was on point. The 乾煎龍利 or Deep Fried Whole Fish looked like they used old oil to fry the fish. It tasted alright. They made the 芝麻奶茶 or Sesame Milk Tea too sweet this time. Had to go home to water it down. Overall, food was tasty and affordable.

It wasn't busy at 5:30pm weekday, we got seated near the front middle where the utensils and staff station was located. There were some parts that looked messy and had cardboard boxes stacked up but overall the place looks pretty clean other than that. and my family ordered a couple dishes. The ones I think we really enjoyed were the braised pork belly, fried whole fish, and seafood hotpot. Unfortunately, the 3cup chicken wasn't so good, very little chicken, the fried pork chops were less than we remembered, the noodles were ok, a bit hard and dry, and green beans were ok but tasted a bit raw. Refillable drinks like milk tea are still my favorite part, keep them coming! Staff are around to help, it wasn't busy but the servers were busy.

You might experience a slight wait for your meal, but it is certainly worth it. As a Southern California Filipina, born and raised in San Diego, and with a chef for a father, I have had the pleasure of trying various styles of kare-kare. Alongside the kare-kare, the bagoong (cooked shrimp paste) is equally important. I wouldn't even consider eating kare-kare without bagoong. If the bagoong is not up to par, the kare-kare is not as satisfying. This was my very first experience with Crispy Kare-Kare, and I am definitely planning to return to Almuchow to savor one of my favorite Filipino dishes again. Bagoong is an acquired taste. My husband dislikes its aroma and flavor, which is why he doesn't particularly enjoy kare-kare. The quality of the kare-kare is intrinsically linked to the bagoong. If the bagoong is not prepared correctly, it can diminish the entire dish. I am definitely looking forward to returning for their Crispy Kare-Kare!

Bagnet à la carte - we ate some with the Longsilog and took the rest home. It was more than enough for a second meal. We'll surely return to try their other offerings! The stall is located in Blossom Food Hall. Ample parking is available as it shares a parking lot with the theatre. Enjoy!

The plate lunches were served with a generous portion of rice, steamed mixed vegetables, and a scoop of mac salad. The katsu was perfectly breaded and fried, while the chicken was tender and moist. The chicken teriyaki was tender and juicy, with a flavorful sweet-and-savory sauce that complemented the chicken nicely. The beef teriyaki was flavorful. The 2 spam musubis were loosely wrapped and came apart easily. The 2 mac nut pancakes were a large portion size. It was topped with a cream sauce that was not too sweet. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the staff remained friendly and hospitable. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable brunch.
