Very friendly service and good noodles. The portions are huge and I couldn't finish even though I actively tried. The siu mai was very unique and flavorful as well. The jasmine green tea was good, not too sweet. The rose grape green tea was good too and I could taste the tea. I don't usually expect drinks at restaurants to be good so this was very surprising. Inside is clean and welcoming. The bathroom was clean when I went. I would come again!

Xibei Eatery introduces Northwestern Chinese cuisine to Santa Ana's food scene. They specialize in authentic regional specialties like hand-pulled noodles, unique oat-based dishes, and street food. The customer service is above and beyond. The manager in particular was very friendly and even went so far as to comp our party of 6 with dessert. We really wanted to enjoy this dining experience, but the taste and texture fell short of expectations. I started with the Golden Berry Juice and it was too sour for my liking. For my entree, I ordered the Beef Short Rib Oil Splashed Hand-Pulled Noodles. I hate to say it but I've had much better hand-pulled noodles elsewhere and the dish didn't offer much flavor other than for spice. The Xiao Long Bao and Shumai were underwhelming too. Our server also forgot one of the dishes we ordered, so we ended up canceling it. IMO there is a lot to improve on, so I wish Xibei Eatery all the best!

Solid 4 star experience. The food was flavorful, but I'm a sucker for a traditional old school Chinese spot. This is new school stuff. I tried the soup dumplings, which were good. The diced pork over rice, would have been nicer crispier. I thought the sauce was ok but overdone. I'm not a heavy sauce person so if you like a heavy sauce this is your dish. I'd come back to try another dish.

If you're looking for an authentic Chinese noodle shop, Xibei Eatery may be a contender for the best in OC! I came here last night for dinner with 3 of my friends, and we ordered several noodle dishes, the infamous XLB, uni shumai dumplings, popcorn chicken, pork belly, garlic butter broccoli, and sweet drinks. We did not wait long for our food, and everything was a hit! We were all satisfied with the portions as well as the clean interior of the restaurant. Special thanks to the staff lead, Mark, who served us and stopped by frequently to make sure we were happy with our dining experience. I would perhaps compare Xibei Eatery to Six Alley Biang Biang Noodles, which is also in Santa Ana and known for their hand-pulled noodles. Still, I could not be more pleased with dining at Xibei Eatery and I'd be happy to return. Shoutout to Mark and team!

Food: solid, less mala/numbing spice than I expected but good flavors, standard spice is less than siracha level. The xlb was the fave of the table, but genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered. Even the drinks were delicious - rose red grape was the fav! Service: maybe they're trying to figure out logistics, but service was super slow. Orders were mixed up and we couldn't get any water until we were almost done with our food. They are very friendly, but definitely bewildered . Interior: cool seating options, may have to share tables. Can accomdate large parties (6+) but if it's snug you can sit outside as well. Plenty of parking even for a busy plaza on a weekend.

Good food. Tasty noodles. Nice customer service for casual eatery. Quiet for weekend lunch but lots of regulars who seemed to know what to order.

came in on a tuesday afternoon for lunch, parking was very easy to find. I ate in and ordered through a qr code but had a server named Mark. He was great. I got the short rib hand pulled noodles & they were bombbb, super thick & the short rib was fire. I also got the Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Xiao Long Bao, Uni & Shrimp Shumai & Crispy Millet Bombs . Everything was really good. I ate everything. Total was around $63. 10/10 would come again.

Xibei Eatery had such delicious food and everyone was friendly! Service was quick and our waiter, Mars, was the sweetest ever! I got to meet another named Mark and he was very accommodating and made sure all of our questions were answered. We ordered 7 dishes and 2 drinks coming to a total of $120.99 which was an amazing bill for everything we got! There was no wait and the place was so pretty inside! Clean and ready to go. The food was amazing. Their hand pulled noodles were so soft and chewy with a little bit of spice. I also loved their garlic noodles a lot! Their Passion fruit green tea was so refreshing and paired well with all the food. Parking was shared in a plaza but the spot was easy to find. overall would give this place a 5 star rating!

You had me at hand-pulled noodles..MY FAV!!! *drools* I'm always in the hunt for some good hand-pulled noodz in OC, so I was stoked to hear that XIBEI Eatery recently opened up in Santa Ana. Located near MainPlace mall, in the CityPlace plaza (near Mother's Market), XIBEI is a cute & modern Chinese restaurant ~ focusing on authentic Northwestern Chinese cuisine. The space is open and bright, with plenty of seating (both indoor & out). You even get a front-eyed view of the chefs making fresh noodles thru the kitchen window, as you enter the restaurant. Parking in the plaza is plentiful & not cray. The staff is super friendly & efficient, greeting you upon arrival. I've officially been here twice now. Once on a date night w/ the hubs and once again today for a family lunchie w/ the hubs & daughter. I've fallen in love w/ the beef brisket oil splashed hand-pulled noods ($18.75). While my hubs loves the special combo deal ~ beef short rib oil splashed hand-pulled noods deal w/ a free drink & salad for only $18.75! Both dishes are flavorful, not even spicy (as it looks). My beef literally looks like it fell off the bone ~ it's so soft and tender. I love the addition of the potatoes and carrots too. The hand-pulled noods are sooo chewy and fresh. Super yums! We came hungry, so we opt'd for the 8-piece xiao long bao (soup dumplings) ~ $9.50, which is chewy & packed w/ soupy flavor. The scallion pancake ($6) was crispy & yums, esp. when you dip it w/ some chili oil, soy sauce & a splash of vinegar. Lastly, we tried the cucumber salad, which I would prolly pass next time..as it wasn't that memorable. It was refreshing, but it lacked the vinegar punch that my fam likes, when I make it at home or that DTF has. IYKYK. I ordered the refreshing jasmine green tea. You can really taste the good quality of the tea. Not bitter or overly sweet. My hubs opt'd to try the rose grape green tea, which was different, but good..esp. if you like grapey flavors. All in all, a RxFoodie recommend & must try!!! We'll definitely be back.

Was randomly searching for XLB and ended up coming to xibei. The xlb was a great value, but the spotlight were the noodles. Ended up ordering the short rib noodles, butter garlic noodles and the tomato broth noodles as well. Service was attentive.

The xiao long bao completely stole the show. Each dumpling was packed with rich, flavorful broth and a perfectly seasoned filling ,easily the highlight of the meal. The garlic noodles with beef sauce were absolutely addictive. The noodles were coated in a savory, garlicky sauce that had so much depth of flavor, and I found myself going back for bite after bite. The beef short ribs were just TENDER . BOMB What made the experience even better was the service. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel taken care of from start to finish. From the quality of the food to the hospitality, this spot exceeded expectations. Definitely a place I'll be craving again soon!

The food is amazing! You will not regret coming! Always good service. My friend and I love to come here always. We love to get classic oil noodles and the xiao long bao with some cucumbers.

Massive parking lot so that was easy, one friend went ahead and let them know we had 10 incoming. They made room and we sat immediately. One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so you'll be close to your neighbors not that it was an issue personally. My buddy and I ordered our items and shared with each other for a good full experience. We got the three-in-one noodles medium heat and the Ma Hu Beef noodles with mild heat alongside the cucumbers with medium heat as an appetizer. Cucumbers were very fresh! However, they really were just cucumbers with a little heat on them so they weren't anything too special. Once the main entrees came in, I couldn't stop myself from digging in! I forgot to take a picture until after some damage was done to our meals. Three-in-one was so flavorful and sweet with the noodles becoming incredibly soft after having mixed it all together. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully that doesn't continue being an issue for future guests.

This place feels like it's still stuck in the 90s. The food is average at best, yet many of the…read moreregulars seem to be older customers who swear by it. Maybe it's nostalgia or maybe they've just lost their taste buds. What really bothered me was the service. Why hand customers a menu if you're not even going to give them time to look at it? I had barely sat down before a waiter rushed over asking what I wanted. I told him I had just sat down and hadn't even opened the menu yet. He rolled his eyes and walked away. I kid you not....about 30 seconds later, another waiter came rushing over asking the same question. I felt rushed and annoyed at the same time. What's going on here? To be fair, I grew up eating here and have returned about three times as an adult. Unfortunately, each visit has been worse than the last. The restaurant seems to have no motivation to improve. The place feels dirty, the food is mediocre, and the customer service is pretty terrible.

Hue Kitchen got a glow up and I'm here for your girl…read more The menu covers all the Hue classics. Here, you can customize your bún bò huế with whatever your heart desires. They even offer tongue which I've never ever seen on a menu before except at my mama's house. I ordered just a regular bowl of bún bò huế. They give you so much meat, it's insane. Moreover, they include broth bones where there are still tiny morsels of meat still attached. As of it wasn't already giving my mama's house, you can also find nước mắm on the tables where you can concoct a whole dipping situation. Ten. What really sold me was #23 - tôm chua đu đủ Đặc biệt. It's so simple - fermented shrimp, pork belly, herbs, and some rice. This is my favorite comfort dish. The combination of papaya/shrimp, pork belly, herbs along with a bite of rice is the most perfect bite. Again, I've never ever seen this dish offered at a restaurant so I was absolutely beside myself. Not only do they serve this dish here, you can buy a jar of the tôm chua to go. Okay, bookmark this place and come tomorrow.
