I was on my way to Chun Yang Tea when my and my cousins decided to give it a try. XFT is very noticeable in Flushing-based on their boba cooking and making in the front of the store. We tried the Brown sugar pearl milk (one with less pearls) and the Taro Boba Milk-all cold. I understand that the bobas are cooked inside with the brown sugar but the for all three of our drink, they were all warmed to room temperature through out the whole time we were trying to drink it (I'm not sure if this is normal). I usually get Tiger Sugar and I never had this problem. I may consider to come back and give it a try again in the Winter time. read more

Love this place! They make their own boba and you can definitely taste the difference. Very soft, chewy, and tastes fresh. My go to is usually the dalgona coffee or the soft serve. Both taste so amazing and the service is quick even with the long line they usually have. Only down side is, that all their milk teas are already pre made. This bubble tea specialty establishment sits at the corner of Main and 41st Ave. The name means blessed palace in Chinese. It had its grand opening just before the Pandemic started in Feb '20. I'm glad it survived the lock down. All the street facing walls are glass panels, so their entire work area is visible from inside and out, showing off their artisanship. They employ many staff, all uniform clad. The entire setup is reminiscent of Ding Tai Fung, the famous xiao long bao chain; unfortunately, so do the prices. They seem to have just one uniform cup size; not sure about the fluid ounce, but definitely no bigger than the medium cup from elsewhere, and the prices are between $6 and $7. They are known for their brown sugar boba milk. Being lactose intolerant, I dare not go all out on the dairy; I went for the boba milk tea. To me it's no different than other places that sell brown sugar milk tea, but I'm no milk tea connoisseur. Their boba, however, noticeably stands out. Sweet, tasty, and in perfect consistency. I ordered the original brown sugar bubble tea size large $9.25. It's pretty expensive for what it is, sugar water and milk. The taste is sweet with bits of hard sugar and the texture of the bubbles are soft and jelly like. They also topped it off with a semi sweet heavy cream and not too much ice. If you want no ice at all it is an extra 50 cents. I really like it. But I do think tiger makes it better because tiger has a bolder tea flavor. Service is okay. Straight to the point. And it took about 7 minutes for my drink to come out. There was about 8 people ahead of me. In the back you can also get your fortune. Really nice spot! read more

Amazing tea! The brown sugar milk tea feels nicely balanced and I love how they crème brûlée the top so I get little crispy bits while drinking. You can taste (and see) how homemade the boba is and it's so nicely chewy and flavorful too. The store is cute but has no places to sit. There was a long line in the small cramped shop but we wanted to try a bubble tea. You can see them making the bubbles in the store front window. Ordering was quick but it took a while to get the order especially since all we ordered was a Herbal Jelly Boba milk tea. The people ahead of us ordered the special boba with gold leaf for $15 so we watched them painstakingly make it. It was pretty but it seemed a waste to us. The boba was definitely fresh, soft, and chewy, slightly sticky and sweet. The herbal jelly had a nice texture. The tea was not too sweet. The total price with tax was $7.25 which is what a lot of these drinks were priced at. Due to the freshness of the boba the texture and taste is unmatched to any other pearls I've had before. They have a variety of menu options ranging from different teas and even a soft serve version of their milk tea. As one of the rare few times I actually do get boba, I had to order the dope looking Gold Foil Boba Milk, which is literally just Brown Sugar Boba Milk with gold on top that costs $14 (which is surprisingly a lot cheaper than I thought it could be). Would only recommend to get it if you're doing for the photo/gram. The tapioca pearls were amazingly tender and delicious with a texture that I can't really describe besides that it tastes like homemade dumpling skins. [NYC BOBA TOUR STOP #13 (updated)] I found myself in Flushing with a friend who had never been to XFT, so, alas, we had to go. I was super excited to try the boba fresh (not after a couple hours like it had been the previous time). Last time I got the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea and noted that the tea itself, though good, didn't have the brown sugar flavor I expected. The tea also wasn't spectacularly different or anything. It was good, don't get me wrong, but not special. This time around, I ordered the Taro Milk Tea and later I got their classic drink, the Brown Sugar Boba Milk. The taro milk tea comes with taro balls which are not warm (like their brown sugar boba is) and because of that, they're definitely firmer than boba should be. I like firm boba so I didn't mind it, but it wasn't what I was expecting. Also, when they say "taro milk tea," they mean EXACTLY that: taro + milk tea. It wasn't taro flavored milk tea-- it was their signature milk tea (which, even the second time around, was pretty ordinary) with fresh taro added in. The fresh taro didn't quite mix seamlessly into the tea, so it was all a bit underwhelming. I also tried their iconic brown sugar boba milk later which did come with that nice warm boba at the bottom of the cup that gives your heart a lil hug. In my previous review, I described their brown sugar boba as having a strange texture because they didn't have the chew factor. I will say that when they're fresh, they do have a chew, but they're softer and stickier than I'd like. The brown sugar milk itself was great-- very creamy and sweet as brown sugar drinks are. Not many complaints there. My friend got the brown sugar soft serve which she let me try and it was definitely yummy. It comes with warm boba at the bottom of the cup as well which is genius. It would be amazing if the boba could be layered into the soft serve though so that there isn't just a bunch of boba at the bottom of the cup. I think because I actually went to the store this time and paid at the register, the price of these drinks truly hit me. Here I was, paying $7 for a drink that was barely taller than the palm of my hand. $7 is insanely hefty, even for a large drink, so it was utterly baffling to me how I was paying that much for such a stout drink. Our drink average is probably a 3.5/5 still, but we rounded down because of the price. I am still intrigued by their matcha with strawberry boba so maybe when I find myself in the area again I'd be willing to try it one more time. But honestly the combination of the price and satisfaction with the drink is is just a bit of a let down. read more

I came back to XFT this week after having it once when they first opened. XFT definitely wins in the boba category. Super good compared to any other bubble tea place. The boba is nice and chewy and has the sweetness from the brown sugar. It definitely makes a big difference! I think XFTs drink is much creamier which makes it a little heavy! I ordered the ube boba milk, while she ordered the dalgona coffee boba milk, and we got a free boba milk tea. Because they make the boba fresh, when we got the drinks you can feel the warm brown sugar boba at the bottom of the dalgona and milk tea drink. They were nice, chewy, and bouncy. Dalgona Coffee Boba Milk - I don't drink coffee normally, but my friend said it was made well. She rates it a 4/5. Boba Milk tea - The drink tasted exactly how you would expect it to be with good boba. 3.5/5 Ube Boba Milk - This drink was a nice mixture of textures, with coconut flakes and little sago bubbles along with taro boba on the bottom. This process is showcased through the windows and counter, where they have a whole crew of folks who in near perfect assembly-line type fashion crank out freshly made balls of tapioca. I usually don't prefer boba in my drinks, but I'll kill this easily. And the thick gooey churn that looks like tar? That'd be their magical brown sugar mix that is the sweetest nectar that the bubble tea gods could conjure up. Indeed they have one of the best tasting brown sugar based teas I've had in NYC and I'm always excited when I get a chance to drink one. If I really feel like going next level, I'll order the gold foil version which is a whopping $10. It is incredibly rich, both literally and figuratively, and worth the splurge for people who need immediate indulgence. Their other drinks don't get nearly enough shine, but I really love their roasted oolong tea, matcha boba milk, and their damascus rose tea with lime. Unlike the mega boba menus at other competing places, there is a certain beauty about their smaller menu. On one hand, it's simple with the perfect range of drinks that exude various flavors. However, they often run out of drinks toward the end of the which is not so great but understandable given their quality control. A thing that throws many first timers off (or perhaps, turns them off) is the fact the drinks are one size and they come at a premium, price wise. Really thirsty folks will likely suck it all down a little too quickly and feel like they paid too much for that to happen. I often tell folks to lightly sip and enjoy the flavors but no one is thinking this when it's hot outside. Prices are in the sub-$6 range for each drink, barring the $10 ultra high end gold flake brown sugar boba milk. I think the service is great. The young people who work behind the counter are impressively multilingual (which is a requirement in this part of Flushing) and the Xing Fu Tang prosperity game is a fun way to pass the time. I have been dying to try this place since seeing it on Instagram. But since I live in Brooklyn, I did not want to make the journey all the way to Queens. Finally I found myself in Queens and this place was definitely on my list. You could order online which saved a lot of waiting time and then you just go inside to pick up your order. I decided to get the Boba Soft Serve and it was absolutely amazing. It tasted exactly like the bubble tea but in ice cream form. It was super creamy and it was worth being super cold while I was eating it the whole time. For drinks I decided to get the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea and it was soo tasty. It was sweeter than I expected but the tapioca flavor was unbeatable - they were sweet and chewy and the whole drink was creamy and delicious. I wasn't sure what to get and ultimately decided to go with a safe drink, Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The tapioca was nice and chewy. As for the tea itself, I would've preferred less milk taste and more tea taste. As I was waiting for my drink, my eyes wandered to their Brown Sugar Soft Swerve which looks amazing! While feeling a tinge of regret for not ordering it, I comforted myself after I realized that I probably would've decided against it since it was a rainy day.
