This place is the spot! They have monthly specials for a 9.95 price tag and a 15.95 price tag. The 9.95 is perfect for my wife and I get the larger order! You go in and scan a QR code to place your order and pay up front! The food comes out quick. I've tried the pork belly, beef cuts, jowl, etc and all solid quality. I love their sauces too which include chili oil, lemon, and a soy base one. I also get my meat without the Teri sauce so I can dip it myself! Fun spot to eat with friends, or date night, with great service, and sometimes there a line during peak hours. I hope this place is here for a long long time.

First time trying this place and it has been a favorite among my friends. I did not have to wait too long, but I would not count on getting seated right away around dinner time. The atmosphere is chill and all the sets looked pretty worth it. You order online and pay immediately, which makes group meals really easy. Staff was nice and easy going. I thought the regular-size meal was definitely enough and very filling. Parking can be a little rough in this area, but you can usually find spots near nearby shops or on the surrounding streets.

We went to Yakiniku Like in Japan and loved it, so we were excited to try the Honolulu location! It's very similar to the ones in Japan, but honestly, the deals here are even better! The meats were delicious, everything came out quickly, and the portions were great. I left VERY well fed and satisfied Definitely a great spot when you're craving yakiniku without spending a ton!

My family and I went there to stand in line to wait until they opened. There was a line. We were seated pretty quickly once they opened. The double set that we ordered for the each of us looked like it wouldn't fill us up, but it actually did. We didn't take in account for the unlimited rice so it helped fill us up. I would recommend going here, the price was reasonable good and the meats and sauces were so tasty.

I love yakiniku like Food is reasonably priced! I always get their monthly deals!!! I also like to add 5g of strip steak because why not! The service is quite fast. I like that it's a pay as you order service! Peak hours are lunch and dinner, wait time may be long sometimes but it goes by quickly. They keep it clean inside and they have the basket bag holders which is very convenient.

Definitely worth trying given the price and amount of food. My husband has been here multiple times with his colleagues. We went with another friend/ his coworker for lunch yesterday. They had June set meals special $9.95 or $15.95 for mega larger portion. I had June special given the amount of food, don't regret it as it just right for me. It came with miso soup, salad, kimchee and rice bowl with kalbi short plate and pork jowl. Very tasty with sauces: garlic soy, lemon juice and sweet chili. Husband told me that sweet chili wasn't spicy which he was right. Smokeless grill system is hella strong fire but you don't smell like you came from BBQ restaurant. It made me scared at times. Use QR code to scan and select your options, use it to pay so don't have to wait for server. They do not take cash, credit cards, just using the app. There is a wait but does move along. The servers are nice and attentive. Parking is limited front of restaurant as it shares with other businesses. There is parking lot across on Young St that you pay or meter parking along the street as well.

Came here around 5:30 and had no wait! Get the special - it is pretty cheap and totally worth it! You can add on a couple more meats if you feel like it, but the set meal is a pretty decent serving. I added beef tongue and it made the meal perfect! You order everything through your phone, even if you want more rice. Great open for a filling, cheap, yakiniku option!! Love it!

I asked my sister and brother if they ever ate here before. They said they didn't so here i am back again. My brother and I got the Mega August special which is the kalbi short plate and spicy pork Toro. My wife got the kalbi lovers which has kalbi short rib and kalbi short plate. My sister ordered the double like set which has the kalbi short plate and teriyaki chicken. We also ordered shishito peppers, kurobuta sausage and harami (skirt steak). Everything we ate was good. I even found out that the kalbi short plate is from the shoulder and the pork Toro is from the jowl. So now you know. The service is fast and attentive. They train them well or they take pride in their service. It's a bit on the loud side with it being full inside like last time. I guess you could say it's like going to zippy's after the football game. I enjoy eating here. Good food, affordable prices and really great service. Don't forget. Free rice refills. From 11am to 4pm and 8:30pm to closing.

Was in town to meet up with a friend for lunch and he recommended Yakiniku Like (he's been many times and it was my first time). The parking in front is a little tricky, maybe 10 spaces but very limited. We almost gave up and went to another place but we drove down Young street and found street parking. Walked in and no line, got seated right away. Menu and water brought to us as we sat down. Didn't really need the menu as my friend already recommended the $9.99 monthly special. I had looked over the menu the night before and wondered if I need to level up to the $15.99 one but my friend who has a much better appetite than I do said I think the $9.99 one should do. Placed our order and it took a little bit to come out but not very much. Our burner went out a couple times but our waiter figured out there wasn't enough air flow and everything was fine. Definitely glad I didn't go for the $15.99 one as I was quite full after the meal. Unlimited rice for those who want/need it. I was told that each month the "second" meat is changed but the Kalbi remains the same. Guess we had good timing as the restaurant was full when we left. Will definitely be back with the fam.

Amazing time here! Seated quickly, you order online using a QR code and pay. They bring your stuff out quick and you start cooking! If you've never been here they'll tell you how to do it. Service was nice but it's more to just bring your stuff out to you and check on you, since you order online.

Late lunch with coworkers and this long awaited visit was met with high marks! Had to work an event downtown and were on the hunt for a place that was still open for lunch well past two pm. Spotted this place (which we'd been meaning to visit) and were happy to see they don't close between lunch and dinner! It was well laid out with tables, a small grill to share, and sauce bottles between tables to share (they try to bring you new bottles between guests, as they tend to get sticky between uses). They will take down menu screens between the conjoined aisle if you have a group larger than two. Otherwise, there are four-top (or more) seating areas against the walls, where two guests are on cushioned stools and the other two are seated on the cushioned bench. From the entrance, there are seating areas on the left and right. There was a party on the right side, so I initially rated the noise level as loud. However, on the left where we were seated, even as guests kept on arriving (for even later lunches or early dinners), it was nice and quiet! The initial thrill was the February special, which the gals ordered - ONLY $9.95 for 150 gms kalbi and a free serving of chicken teriyaki; unlimited rice (I never finish mine at other meals, but this time, I ate a tad more than one big bowl!), a well filled miso soup with goodies in it, green salad (with cukes and grape tomatoes, and a choice of yuzu or sesame dressing-we loved the sesame - and later, another guest said the Yuzu was also great on the meat-so we'll ask for that next time!); and a bowl of Kim Chee! The boss ordered the $15.95 special, with 200 gms kalbi and 100 gms chicken teriyaki and the same sides we were offered in the $9.95 set. Each of us ate our entire servings, and shared the boss's "one more free rice bowl", congratulating ourselves on such a great choice to visit, with guarantees that we're coming back for our birthday lunches! (Okay, I did give some of my food to the boss, because I was quite full!) The seasonings/ sauces included a lemon juice, garlic soy, spicy sweet, and salt and pepper. Boss tried them all, my co worker also enjoyed the salt and pepper, and I loved the garlic soy and spicy sweet sauces. And yes, I poured the garlic soy sauce on my rice, and with my meats, resulting in my unusual rice bowl wipeout. They do have beverages and desserts, see the fun menu! Dinner must be awesome-we've seen the line out the door after work! Oh, and they even have a curry sauce add on due $2.50. Service is truly attentive with frequent water refills and check ins, too! Heard the tonkotsu garlic ramen is also good (when we went back to the office to tell others of the great experience, LOL they'd already been there several times)! Restroom keys are at the entrance, restrooms are out the door to the left, there were two stalls in the women's rr, which was bright and clean. Orders are taken and payment is made via a handheld device prior to dining. Easy peasy, and Mahalo to the boss for treating us after our very successful, but long day at the event downtown! See the pics, and we're already planning our return!

I understand the hype of Yakiniku Like! When I went here to have dinner with my friend we both got one of the monthly specials and it was a good amount of food for the price! The set we ordered came with some sort of thinly sliced beef and chicken, and I liked all the sides- it made the meal more filling. They also bring your order out really fast! The meat was pretty good quality and I appreciated that the portion was just right without having to worry about getting your money's worth like at an AYCE bbq spot. This place is definitely worth checking out for your Yakiniku fix!

QR code, you have to pay when you place your order.

As it goes without saying, when you're in Hawaii you're as close to eating the freshest seafood as you can without being in Japan. We both ended up getting their Signature Negitoro Bowl but the Tokujo version which has Salmon Roe + Snow Crab + Uni and added a fresh Yolk Soy Sauce. Because why not have the Lamborghini of Negitoro bowls while you're visiting here. Along with that I ended up with a half sized udon miso soup and my wife a crab miso soup. As you can see in the pictures the food came out looking just like it did on the menu, no false advertising there. The egg soy sauce was a perfect creaminess that complimented the saltiness of the Uni and Salmon Roe. Once you mix everything together there's even added house made soy sauce on the side of your want more saltiness back but add some yuzu ginger with each bite and you get that perfect blend of flavor. There's fish was insanely fresh and had zero fishy smell or taste. The rice underneath was cooked well and the side squares of nori was perfect to make our own hand rolls. There's no alcohol served but they allow you walk 15 steps outside to the nearby convenience store where they have the cutest little dog and bring in your own beer or sake. There's miso soup was good and warms you up, but will say the corner we sat on had the AC blasting (which we're not complaining) but it did cool down our soups a little faster than we could enjoy so in the end my wife's crab miso did get a little salty. But overall the food was amazing, service was friendly and vibes were warm. Absolutely will come back the next time we're in Oahu.

The burdock roots were really good and they provided free plums (Ume) to have with rice. We ordered the pork loin katsu, pork tenderloin katsu, and a side order of oyster katsu. Each order of katsu came with choice of rice and miso soup. I saw the workers fry the katsu, so everything was fresh! While we were waiting for the food, they gave us the sesame seeds to grind for our Katsu sauce. All Katsu tasted sooooo good! I enjoyed the pork loin katsu sooooo much! Still thinking about it till this day haha. The tenderloin was the most tender I have ever had. It was my first time trying oyster katsu and it was both crispy from the Katsu but juicy from the oyster. Service was great as well. Staff were walking around asking if we wanted more salad or side dishes. After we finished our meal, they gave us some hot tea which is good for digestion. Overall, this is a MUST when visiting Oahu! It deserves all the hype.

Since it was late, we noticed the back of house staff help the front. Everyone was so friendly and food comes out fast. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food was a bit too flavorful - we all agreed that everything was slightly salty. I could also say portion of some items may not match price, but I understand inflation is increasing at an alarming rate. So I'll leave money out of this. Crushed cucumbers were interesting. We couldn't decide if eating it with chopsticks or spoon was better. With chopsticks, you might not get enough sauce. But you could taste the layers of flavor. With a spoon, you get too much saltiness. The spice hits at the end. The tako karaage were a little too chewy for us. Beef tongue was so tender. A definite must order. I dont think it needs rice though. We also ordered the late night nikumiso but it didn't come with an egg, which the menu said it should. We tried handful more items but we'll be back to try the oxtail items, as it sounds like that's their specialties, but takes extra time to prepare.

We were promptly served water and hot tea while we looked over the menu. My boys love salmon, so they chose the Grilled Salted Salmon Set. Knowing they probably wouldn't finish their meals, I ordered the TKG Set and added natto and mentaiko on the side. Each set comes with miso soup, rice, and an assortment of delicious sides. Everything was so good! One of my favorite touches was at the end of the meal when our waitress brought out dashi with seaweed, wasabi, and green onions (comes with the Salmon Sets) for us to pour over the remaining rice. It was the perfect way to finish the meal. We cleaned our plates and enjoyed every bite. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to try more of their breakfast dishes and to experience their lunch and dinner offerings as well.

They also have excellent tempura and sashimi. My favorite is the 'Hana' (cold soba w/tororo-unu-ikura-wakkame-nori-negi) but add ume & natto, and a side order vegetable tempura. (They also have incredible unagi tempura and a kakiage over hot soba) - plus they have yuzu ginger sorbet!! Service is always polite and friendly which makes it easy to become a regular here. Prices are well worth it for the quality.

The dining area is one open area, the table setting is cozy with its crochet coaster and wooden chopsticks rest. There's an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs put love into each dish. My server even pointed out who will be making my crispy pork belly. The wait staff is so helpful and welcoming. They made sure our vegan friend was well-taken care of. She suggested the mushroom jook where they would put the chicken on the side. They even added more mushroom to elevate his dining experience! Today we ordered family style, which they happily accommodated for us. They served the rice on the side. Our menu included short rib bao and shiitake bao (vegan), ume tomato, namul, spicy miso eggplant, crispy pork belly, menchi katsu, and mushroom jook. The standouts were the crispy pork belly with its watercress tomato onion salad, the ume tomato on whipped tofu, and spicy miso eggplant. The mushroom jook is so comforting, hearty and full of flavor served with chicken confit and a soy egg. The two desserts offered are both winners. The mochi churro with kinako and anglaise is crispy, light and creamy. The pineapple orange pudding is so cool and refreshing. And, 100% of dessert sales go to the culinary team! What?! Love this place. Plus, with you check are some fun asian candies -white rabbit and haw flakes! I haven't been there for dinner yet. That'll be next.
