I had a fun dinner meeting with some work colleagues. The service was friendly and the restaurant is spacious and open with many tables and a large circular bar. They have many taps with a large variety of beers and cocktails. They have many large screen televisions with different sporting events. We had the calamari which was light, crispy and very tasty. We also had fresh poke that was excellent. I had the salmon entree that was good and it was moist and flavorful. This is a fun and casual place band I recommend it. read more

I called a day ahead and tried to make reservations for two, but the host said they only take big party reservations and that I can call them ahead 30 mins on the day of to save a table. It was my girlfriend's birthday and I decided to wing it and go to Yard House without calling them that day for a table. It was empty on a Wednesday; probably because we arrived before dinner time. It was still happy hour though. We ordered the roasted Halibut and shared it because my girlfriend had a big lunch earlier. The flavors were on point. The bok choi with garlic mashed potatoes was very good. It also came with grilled asparagus. I am not a big fan of asparagus, so I only ate one. My girlfriend ate them all. We also got the onion rings tower (half off) during Happy Hour. It was pretty greasy. We didn't finish it. I took it to-go. We shared a Half Yard (Blue Moon) $10 during HH. I wished that I had asked for sliced oranges. It would have brought out more flavors to the beer. I mentioned to the sever if I can get the birthday girl a chocolate soufflé. It came out 10 mins later and was nice and warm. It had a cute birthday candle on top and written on the plate was Happy Birthday with cocoa powder. It was good. I ate all the ice cream because the girlfriend is lactose intolerant. It was easy to scoop the ice cream off. It didn't melt into the chocolate. Service overall was kind of slow, although it was pretty empty. Our server was nice though, but not really attentive. She didn't mentioned anything about Happy Hour until it was over, although we knew about it already. She also didn't acknowledge it was my girlfriend's birthday and bringing out a cake until I mentioned it to her, which was fine. The cake was complimentary. Overall, the service can be slow. Okay, I have no idea why I haven't reviewed this place yet after coming here about 3 times now with the boyfriend. First of all, every time that I have came here everyone have treated both of us so great. The service was excellent and we have noticed they have the new iPad thingy that you can pay and play games on and they showed us how to use it even though I already knew, but it was nice they took the time to do that. The food: The food was amazing. The first time I had came here, I ordered a poke bowl, the second time a salad, and the third time a sirloin steak with stacked potatoes. As you can tell, the third time was at dinner time so my boyfriend and I had a lot more. My boyfriend ordered salmon for our most recent dinner here. For our appetizer, we got the California roll. Just to inform you all sushi lovers, the California roll here is a lot different then the traditional sushi place, because it is stacked. I wish I had a picture of it but the picture I took turned out blurry. It was pretty good, but different because I am used to the normal ones. For dessert, we have a mini peach cobbler and I got the cream Burlee cheesecake. I love créame Burlee. Ugh!! Writing this make me wants to go back this weekend! read more

Finally checked out Yardhouse after hearing so much about it! Let me start by saying all the hype over the poke nachos is deserved, they were probably my favorite dish out of all the ones we ordered despite just being an appetizer. They're really well seasoned, they use this spicy mayo kind of sauce, furikake, seaweed salad, avocado, etc. I think they also use wonton skins as the "nachos" and it pairs really well, it's a lot lighter and thinner than a tortilla chip. We also got the onion ring tower, I appreciated how soft the inside of it was and how it didn't pull the whole onion out after one bite. The BBQ Chicken Pizza and Baja Tacos were also good but I think the appetizers were the star of the meal. Lastly, we got the Brookie for dessert. It came out nice and warm, with whipped cream and ice cream that made the dish really rich and decadent. Definitely really sweet and also good portion size, so make sure to save some room if you're planning on getting dessert. The inside of the restaurant has very dim lighting. The service was amazing, each worker was really kind and welcoming despite us coming in somewhat close to closing time. read more

the ambiance is great. their patio had a nice view of the waters and the vibes are super fun! however, the food was just plain disappointing especially with its price. the food took nearly 45min to be served and the food tasted like it was neglected at the window for a while. although the food looked appetizing, it was not served hot and the tacos were stale. the noodles were overdone and the veggies in it were cold inside. i usually don't send food back but had to this time as i just did not enjoy it. service was ok, just a normal service at a restaurant. the manager spoke with us briefly after my concern and she handled it so perfectly professionally. read more

I made a spontaneous trip to the Yardhouse, while on our way to Fill Bakery. The traffic to Newport was no joke and made us hangry before the finish line. Around 6 pm, we were seated immediately. What we ordered: POKE NACHOS - This is my favorite go-to item on the menu. There is an excellent balance of chips and ahi tuna. I would say this item would be a deconstructed version of the Poke Stack that no longer exists on the menu.     FRACHOS (Nachos with French Fries substitution) - A whopping 2,000+ calories filled with the goodness of protein, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese. There is no denying that this is a superb sharable item with the group. Very delicious.   Beer of choice - NEW HOLLAND DRAGON'S MILK - Creamy and robust. It has a similar taste to a Guinness with a hoppy kick. Alcohol percentage at an incredible 11.0%. Also, don't be fooled by the name. The beer is from Holland, MI, not Amsterdam. LOL.   Here is what went wrong. I had one free appetizer voucher through the email rewards. I wrote down the voucher code and handed it to the server, and the server went to get the manager's approval. There was a reduction in the final bill and without checking, I paid. The server showed us how to make the payment through the table machine. I signed, tipped well, and left. When I came home to check the receipt, I noticed that the discount only applied half of the appetizer cost and that regrettable feeling still isn't going away. We went out on today on our wife's birthday. The location was in Costa Mesa. We sat outside on the patio. We got no service at all. Couple times times I had to o get to the bar to get drinks. And the bar attendant asked me if I need change from the cash I gave him. They all expect minimum 20% tips . Nobody from the restaurant came out and checked on us . We did mentioned it at the front desk but they don't seem to care . Not even offered any discount on our drinks . We were there for almost 2 hours !!!! After COVID service became really bad . Our waitress was great! Our food was delicious. The restaurant was not very clean and the restrooms were horrible. I wasn't sure if I wanted to eat there after going into the restroom. The trash cans were full, trash on the floors and no toilet paper. The counters had trash on them as well. Hopefully they will clean that up. read more

I'm literally here every other weekend. Chicken frachos, poke nachos, and the standard non-flavored mojitos are a must. But today, I'm writing about the holiday three course meal they're offering until the end of December. I know most people come here for bar food, but this was only $36 per person and it was one of the best dinners I've had in awhile. For appetizers, we had the poke nachos and spinach and cheese dip (both are pretty solid). For entrees, we had the lobster and shrimp agnolotti (very good) and garlic crusted salmon (not a huge fan). For desserts, we both had the chocolate soufflé cake which was amazing. Definitely recommend trying this if you're looking for a late night dinner! read more

Me and my family are here today and it was very good! I had the whisker salmon and that was some of the best salmon I've ever had! The sauce that came with it was very tasty, the mashed potatoes were excellent as well. The water was also really good. We also ordered the burger sliders and those to were very good. The soups that came with the sliders and steak were excellent! Our sever Brooke was very kind and attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and just a very friendly person and overall added to the very nice ambiance of the restaurant. The service was 10/10! Our secondary waiter Parker was also very kind. Props to him! The only thing that was not to good about it was the ribeye we ordered, we ordered it as a medium and it came out as a well done steak. We asked for a new one and the second steak was good but still a grey, the manager Ben came over and was a very nice man and made sure the rest of the food was precise. Overall this place is a 4.5! Yard House Happy House is 100% the way to go! Most places will have a happy house and reduce the size of what they are offering but not Yard House. Seriously you get more bang for your buck. In general I love their menu but it can be a bit on the pricey side if you're not careful. The happy hour menu has PLENTY to choose from and items are 50% off. My boyfriend and I were a little too excited over the price slash and we ASSUMED the portion sizes would be smaller so of course we ended up ordering way too much food. The poke nachos were delicious....but if you don't like cilantro make sure you ask for no cilantro because they load it on. The spinach artichoke dip was good but I wasn't a fan of the fried pita bread. Yard House is known for their onion rings and they never disappoint. The pizza was delicious; perfectly foldable to eat. The sliders were my favorite part. I'm a burger person and these were DELICIOUS!!!! Anyway I highly recommend going during Happy Hour. I was looking for late night dinner options and was thrilled to find full menu options available until 11PM at the Yard House in Costa Mesa, CA. I called in advance to confirm and was pleased to hear the friendly and welcoming voice of Payton, hostess. Upon arriving, she greeted me with an authentic smile. Dining alone can be awkward, yet I felt grateful, welcome and home. My server, Angel, was delightful and helpful, as he knew the menu inside out and guided me in my spectacular choice for the entrée, Mediterranean Encrusted/Blackened Salmon with sautéed kale, tomato and cauliflower. Yumm! For dessert I ordered the petite crème brûlée cheesecake. Knocked my socks off. The ambiance, lighting, decor and music enhanced the entire experience. Went here this past weekend with friends and the dining experience was just average. We arrived here at around 11:30 AM on a Saturday and for some odd reason, the host said that we couldn't sit at the dine-in tables, only the bar area. I found that somewhat odd because there were other customers sitting in the dine-in area. After settling down in the bar, it took about 30 minutes for us to receive our beverages and flag down a server to take our orders. I understand that there was a soccer game going on that afternoon, but we were literally and directly right in front of various servers. I don't think it's that difficult to notice us. After getting our menu items, one of my friends requested to take back an order because her meal was incorrect. Although her entree was corrected and served afterwards, we were still charged for that incorrect meal which led to the total cost to be inaccurate. We flagged down our server again to adjust the receipt and we were able to pay for our meals with the correct amount. Not sure if it was because that Saturday afternoon was busy on their end, but I hope that service will be more attentive and improved. read more

This has been my late night date night spot for my girlfriend and I. We have gone twice within less than a month and we've had different waiters each time and they were awesome (Tristan is awesome!). Love the happy hour specials, definitely recommend the poke nachos (BOMB)! I got the pomegranate margarita and my gf got the Pineapple Express and both drinks were amazing! They also play bomb 90's R&B music and have cool music videos. Definitely would recommend. Been going to this location over the years. Love the spicy garlic edamame...they seriously need to consider using the sauce on more items. My husband and I usually get the calamari appetizer and enjoy it. I also love the poke salad. It consistently has fresh ahi and always is a delicious salad. Reading this makes it sound like I wasn't happy or too needy, but the fact of the matter is that they charged me extra for the bloody Mary virgin, and it didn't come with anything but straight tomato juice and ice. We came on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. We ordered the spinach dip, the poké nachos, and the garlic noodles. I don't like spicy things but my aunt does, so I asked for the serrano chilies and the spicy aïoli to be on the side of the poké nachos. This is my usual order and they always take them off for me, so I think this time asking for it on the side may have confused them and instead they gave us extra on the side. Either way they were still good, just a bit more of a kick than I like. This was my first time trying the garlic noodles and they were amazing. They would be perfect comfort food. The spinach dip was perfect. I didn't care much for the chips that came with the spinach dip, but the bread that it comes with was flakey and delicious.
