Recently in Denver for a work outing. Stumbled upon the Yard House one night with a group of 8. We are all restaurant people, with four of us being restaurant GMs. I have to say how incredibly impressed we were with this restaurant. From the moment we walked in the front door, the genuine hospitality of the staff blew us away. We were graced with meeting or server Hilary, who effortlessly guided us through the menu. When one of the members of our group ordered a certain beer, without leaving the table she was able to tell her that they were unfortunately out of that beer, and guided her to a similar one. Pretty impressive for a place with over 100 beers. The food was excellent. Appetizers, entrees, everything ( especially the Korean beef), far above what you would expect from a chain. I know that this concept had recently been acquired by Darden... I hope they don't mess it up... and I hope they realize what an asset they have on great people like Hilary. Really like their menu--tons of choices. I had the deviled eggs and thought they were great. Fun atmosphere--upscaleish sports bar feel.

Food was average. Atmosphere cool. Beer was out of this world especially those on nitro. Bathroom had changing table for baby.

Ordered the surf and turf burger. Sounded wonderful but nothing about it tasted wonderful. It was one of the driest burgers (I ordered med rare and it came closer to med well) and had no flavor. The lobster was also dry as a bone. The bun, which I did not eat, could have been used as a weapon because it was so hard. I also tasted the mac and cheese that a friend ordered. LOVE this place!! Not only is the staff consistant, courteous, they're prompt with their service and know how to rescue you when there's someone being creepy at the bar :-P. I love that they have a pretty reasonable vegetarian section and of course they have a ton of beers to choose from. Meh. Very expensive, in my opinion. Had the seared ahi and it came in two huge chunks rather than thinly sliced like you would normally have it. Menu is extensive, which I believe is always an issue-too many choices means you can't focus on quality consistently. The Moscow mule is good, though. Can get loud so hard to hear. read more

Go to this restaurant if there is no other choice available. I've visited other Yard House locations and not been as disappointed as I was here. We're staying in the hotel that occupies the same building. Tonight, we decided to order carry-out. I arrived exactly when I was instructed (15 minutes) to find my food was not waiting for me. No big deal to wait 10 minutes (they had to go to the kitchen twice for items missing from my order...I ordered chicken, 2 tacos and fries). When I did get my food...everything was cold (not hot, not warm but actually cold). Cold fish tacos and cold french fries are hardly palatable. I don't think this cooling could remotely be attributed to my long trek to the 7th floor of the hotel (approximately a 3-minute walk...all inside...no encounters with an abominable snowman or the Narnia Ice Queen). This place may be literally downstairs...but I'll brave the weather and darkness to walk to something better in the future. I've never written a 2-Star review in my 6 years on Yelp...and wish I had not had an experience to drive me to do so! Save your money...and enjoy a different restaurant. 16th Street has plenty of good food to offer. read more

Every time I go to yardhouse I leave amazed. Amazed that I can get that little food, drink, and service for a $100. The food was ok at best but overpriced and the beers are double the price of anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and try one of the many better restaurants downtown and get your money's worth. I ordered the chicken torta sandwich and it was amazing. The assortments of spices on the chicken worked so well together and tasted delicious. The combination of the avocado and greens were so smooth and blended perfectly with the bread and chicken. I can't wait to go back to this restaurant because it was so good. Literally the slowest service I've ever received. Took them 20 minutes to put two tables together on a slow day. Then they screwed up four orders (out of 12) and it took 2 hours to eat. I wanted to like the place, I did. It has such a great atmosphere. But the incompetence was evident. read more

I wouldn't even give this place one star if I could. Horrible service, wait time for a table on a non busy day time was just stupid. I have tried going there twice now at different times of the day and both a huge disappointment. Do not go there if you have children. They are not accomodating what so ever. To the point that they said they didnt have any more high chairs so I had to hold my 8 month old the entire time. Management was horrible as well, seems like a lot of them doing absolutely nothing. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Much better places downtown. Good beer selection but if thats what you are looking for, go check out Falling Rock or even Old Chicago. read more

I had never heard of Yard House before but my friends have been psyched about trying this place for months. We went in on Saturday night sort of expecting it to be too long of wait since we were all a 'i need food now' sort of mood. The hosts greeted us warmly, told us it was going to be about 15 minutes, and within ten we were seated in a cozy booth, beers in hand. The beer selection was a little overwhelming at first because I'm not a huge beer aficionado but our server was really helpful and recommended I try the Leffe which was absolutely delicious. I had a pepper crusted gorgonzola burger (our hostess recommended it) and that very satisfying and just unusual enough to hit the spot. I want to go back and try more of their food since their menu is pretty extensive. Overall, friendly, efficient service, fun atmosphere and quality beer and food. What's not to love?? read more

My daughter and I visited the Lakewood, CO location of The Yard House on 10/19/2001 for my birthday. We arrived after 8:00 p.m. so there was no wait (also a weekday night). I have been to The Yard House three times previous and always had great food. On this visit, I was intent on having a steak, and they did not dissappoint. We each started with a celebratory Car Bomb, which, while pricey ($8.25), were great ... and so much fun! We followed those with the Seared Ahi Sashimi appetizer -- wonderful! For entrees, I had the Grilled Rib Eye with Shallot Butter and my daughter had the Pepper Crusted Filet. Again, a bit pricey ($25 and $30, respectively), but let me tell you, we both took our first bite and were transported to another place! We each tried the other's and I'd have to say my rib eye was the front runner, but both were absolutely mouth-watering. We completed the meal with the Mini Sampler dessert plate which included Apple/Peach cobbler, Lemon Souffle with raspberries, and a chocolate lava style cake. Once again, all were heavenly. All in all, a superb meal. The only reason I'm not giving The Yard House 5 stars is the noise factor. I know they advertise and pride themselves on their louder music, but on my previous visits and with a larger group at a large table, it's very difficult to hear each other speak with the volume of the music. The playlist is fun, but if they'd tone it down a bit, you'd be able to carry on a conversation with your dinner mates AND thoroughly enjoy their fantastic food. read more

We were greeted promptly and given a reasonable estimate of wait time for a saturday. The bar staff was attentive and friendly. A waiter accidently bumped my girlfriend carrying a glass of wine (she was wearing white)..... the server and manager were excellent - offered dry cleaning, soda water, and many apologies. So after a near 60 min wait we were seated outside in 40 degree weather. Never asked of outside was ok. No heat lamps. Wait staff was great. Managers and hostess was horrible. With so many training team shirts on you would have expected more. We love the yard house and have visited many times. This was the worst. Won't ever be back to this location. read more

Hard to describe this place, kind of eclectic I suppose. Corporate chain feel, yet plush furnishings, seems a little too dark and cavernous but that works with the sports TV. Definitely not a pub ambiance but not a noisy sports bar either. An awesome selection of beers and the happy hour appetizers were very good. Trying to cater to a broad audience I guess. It worked well for an afterwork HH session and I could see it being a very comfortable place to watch a game...for me the beer is always the most important and it definitely gets 2 thumbs up on that front. I was open minded going in and pleased coming out. The one thing that did surprise me though was the wait staff. No complaints about their attitude, just wish they were a little more knowledgeable on beer, I know that size list is a challenge but when I'm throwing out clues like sibling of world famous most expensive Belgium abbey recipe, etc and I don't get a hit on St. Bernardus (I couldn't remember the name! and no, it was my first pint of the day), it's a little disappointing the waitress couldn't help, eventually I found the second part of the Belgian menu and spotted it. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the staff in all the local micro and nano breweries where they really know their stuff on ingredients and similar brews. Anyway, a little training might fix that. The other observation was the slow serving time, seemed like a dearth of wait staff on the floor, or may be it was just the dark cavernous environment makes them invisible. However even once an order was placed the turn around time seems long...but then I am European where it is a crime to have an empty glass, in most towns anyway. Since this feels like a businessmans sports bar, I wouldn't object to seeing electronic ordering devices in the wait staff hands so that the beer is ready by the time they get back to the bar to pick it up...that or some roller skates ;-) Overall, plenty to enjoy here. I'm looking forward to trying the main meal menu next time...oh and working through the ale list of course. read more

Came here for lunch. I sat down at the bar and spent 5 minutes trying to flag down a bartender to at least get me a menu. I know they were busy but you should at least have the staff to handle 2/3 of a full bar. Bartender finally acknowledged me after I had to shout to get his attention. He literally tossed a menu at me and went on his way. I had a beer, left some cash and got out of there. At no point in the 10 minutes I spent drinking the beer did he come back to check on me. Went for an early dinner DT location and love the atmosphere. A couple of things that we didn't love was the server who kept disappearing and even though when we arrived it was not full, we were surprised at how long it took. I have been to the Park Meadows one and had drinks and apps and it was always very quick for turnaround, so again surprised. One more thing was that our son ordered the entree mac and cheese and it was $15.95. He is old enough to order for himself, but pretty outrageous for the price. My hubby had a turkey burger which he said was good, and my Cobb salad was pretty good, but again the price was high for mostly a white lettuce salad. I would probably do a happy hour again, but the food prices were not in line for what you get, so definitely would not recommend for dinner. read more
