A friend and I visited for happy hour today and I will say the food and service were both excellent. No issues there. My complaint is the volume of the music was obnoxiously high. The extreme LOUD music and the patrons having to speak at high volumes to hear one another over the music made the experience almost unbearable. This is a restaurant, not a night club. I would like to be able to enjoy a conversation while dining. I left with a splitting headache and I will not return unless this is resolved. read more

1st of all this was my first time to the new Yard-house in Elk Grove. I usually go to the one in Sacramento but Elk Grove is closer now. I ordered my regular 1/2 yard of Voo Doo Ranger and it was great. I was kinda debating on ordering the 20oz rib/eye boy was I happy that I ordered it. It was delicious tender and cooked juicy and to the right temperature. Our server Diego man this guy was point on with all our orders, we got it 100 percent correct and there was 8 of us. I liked how he read back our order to make sure it was correct. And Ashley I hope i got her name right she brought our food out with a smile got what we needed and she was a pleasant employee. We went on Wednesday 7/8 at 3pm for Happy Hour to celebrate a friend's birthday. Prices and food options were very reasonable. Ashlyn (sorry if I misspelled the name) did a great job helping us decide on sample beer flights and very friendly. We ordered calamari, truffle mushroom pizza, blacken ahi sashimi, and spinach dip. All came out very quickly and tasted great. We especially enjoyed the pizza. We had other friends join us and stayed until 8pm. I am really impressed by this restaurant/bar. I had the Ribeye, med rare, for dinner and it was perfection! The fries were a delicious too. I was also impressed with the beer selection. I loved the Hazy IPA on tap. I will be back for more. The service was phenomenal too. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the food served. Expect an expansive menu with lots of options and all generously portioned for leftovers later. My sister had the BLT which was huge and really good. Also, with great fries as well. Extremely disappointed with our first visit to the new Yard House in Elk Grove. We arrived around 4 PM, were seated immediately, received our drinks, and then were essentially forgotten. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we had to flag someone down just to place our order. Despite multiple check-ins with Shon, our waiter. We waited nearly 1.5 hours while tables seated after us received their food. Shon eventually told us that the kitchen had messed up our order and our food kept getting delayed in which no one seemed to know what was going on. Our food never came, and we ultimately decided to walk out. I hardly ever write reviews, but I came in with a couple friends during happy hour because we've been at the Sacramento Yard House location before and overall had a good experience with the food and service. However, there was an interaction at the host stand that was very unprofessional and rude. Since this was our first time at the Elk Grove Yard House location which we understand is newly opened and likely very busy, we weren't sure where to go. My friend showed the host his phone confirming that our table was ready, and instead of nicely guiding us where to go or telling us what to do, the host with a bad attitude named VIOLET goes, "well go to the front" then proceeds to look away and makes a weird face out in the open and says "the fuck" This type of behavior is unacceptable. New openings can be hectic, but basic customer service and professionalism are still as important. If she cannot handle a busy environment, then maybe restaurant might not be a good fit for her. Overall, great food and excellent service from our server Shon. He made sure we gotten taken care of. "Gina" our bartender at what point did we make you make feel uncomfortable because we did NOT say anything rude at all to you directly. I was actually excited for the new Yard House in Elk Grove, but after this experience I'd honestly rather fight for parking downtown than come back here. At least I know what kind of headache I'm signing up for. We came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation, so we were already looking forward to a good meal and a nice way to celebrate her accomplishment. Unfortunately, that excitement didn't last long. We got there right after opening. The tall, skinny white manager told us it would be a 30-45 minute wait for inside, but if we sat outside it'd only be 10-15 minutes. Easy choice. We picked outside. About 20 minutes later, I asked for an update, and suddenly I was being told I had been quoted 30 minutes and had "only been waiting 22 minutes." That's interesting, because the only reason we agreed to sit outside was because we were specifically told it would only be 10-15 minutes. It already felt like we were getting the runaround. The manager then came outside, showed us the table they had just finished setting up, and told us they were going to grab menus so they could seat us. We waited another five minutes, and still nobody came back. Since people in my group had to get to work and school, and I still had two hungry toddlers who were starting to get agitated (because let's be honest, nobody likes a hungry toddler), my family went ahead and sat down at the table the manager had literally just shown us, while I ran inside to grab menus so we'd be ready to order as soon as someone came over. I was simply trying to help move things along after we'd already been told the table was ours. Apparently that was my biggest mistake. While I was inside asking for menus, they kept telling me not to worry because "nobody is going to take your table." Trust me, I wasn't worried about someone stealing it. It's not like me and another family were about to battle to the death over Patio Table #7. I knew it was our table because your manager had literally just shown it to us. The only reason I wanted the menus was so we could already know what we wanted by the time a server came over. We had people who needed to get to work and school, two hungry toddlers who were getting restless, and I was trying to save everyone time instead of giving you another opportunity to make us wait another 20 minutes while everyone looked at the menu before anyone even took our drink order. Instead, while I'm inside asking for menus, I look outside and see multiple employees in white shirts and one in gray walking over to my family like they were responding to a security incident. You would've thought we had hopped a fence and snuck into a VIP section. We literally sat at the table the manager had just shown us. Then my mom was told the server assigned to our table wasn't even there yet. If that's the case... why were we told our table was ready? And if your assigned server isn't there, why not have another server cover the table until they arrive? Instead, we got conflicting explanations, wasted time, and were made to feel like we had done something wrong. It was never that serious. If the table wasn't ready, just say that. But don't show us our table, tell us you're going to grab menus so you can seat us, and then act surprised when we think we're allowed to sit there. That's exactly why my family sat down while I went inside to grab menus. The mixed messages and constant back-and-forth made it feel like we were getting the runaround the entire time. The most disappointing part is that this was supposed to be a celebration for my daughter's graduation. Instead of enjoying the moment, we spent it dealing with confusion, delays, and being treated like we had done something wrong. They completely took away from what should've been a special lunch for her. And to top it off, all the generic "we apologize for the inconvenience" responses don't mean much when nothing is actually done to make it right. An apology without accountability is just a script. Do better. Train your staff to communicate with each other, stop giving customers conflicting information, and don't make people feel like criminals for sitting at the table your own manager had literally just shown them. Opening week is one thing. Poor communication is another. Downtown Yard House, I'll see you soon. The parking might suck, but at least I don't have to worry about catching a felony for sitting at the table I was told was mine. read more

My friend ordered the Lavender Drop drink, I tried a sip and it had a gross bitter aftertaste, she agreed and had to ask for an added strawberry sweetener instead of asking if she'd like a different drink she brought back a little dipping size cup of something pink. My friend ordered the tacos and said her taco meat tasted old, it was so bad she sent it back and lost her appetite. I ordered the Whiskey & Aged White Cheddar burger medium and it came out med on outside and raw on the inside with cold mushrooms, I don't recommend it, I forced some of it down bc I was hungry but I got a stomach ache as we were leaving . My son got the kid's steak it was very cold when it came out. He also ordered the ice cream since he promoted from 6th grade my friend treated him, two very plain melting scoops of soft serve came out he said it was very meh. Our waters never got filled once. The onion rings were the only saving grace from our experience. I was hoping for the same quality food as the location downtown but the server said the chefs are new and to give it time they did give my friend a $15 gift card but it's not worth going back in my opinion when the food is that bad at least not for a long time. read more

Fried calamari was delicious with the tartar sauce! Order the main dishes which took about 35mins to come out. The chicken fettuccine alfredo is delicious can never go wrong with a good pasta along with garlic bread on the side!! The korean cheesesteak was the parmesan truffle fries tasted amazing. I've had takeout twice and while overall it was good, there's one thing I don't understand. For a business this large and well recognized, why do they use packaged or store bought onion rings and not freshly made? Each onion ring looks the same and tastes the same, bad! I love a good onion ring like Habit Burger. The best I've had was at the old burger spot across the street from Land Park. YH has to do better on the onion rings sides. We had such a great experience at Yard House. The food is consistently delicious, and the happy hour is an incredible value--one of the best in the area. What really set this visit apart, though, was our waitress, Cheryl. She went above and beyond in every way. She was attentive without being intrusive, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, and she was genuinely kind and welcoming throughout our meal. They need to have numbers on the tables ! Because every waitress has passed by us kept asking us what dishes did they ordered . They have no clue . Arrived little before 8pm Sunday 7/12/26. We were advised of 25-30 minute wait which we were okay with. We were actually seated within 20 minutes. The place was quite busy and very noisy. We could barely hear ourselves trying to hold a conversation. Our server greeted us and promptly took our drink order and when she arrived with drinks took our meal order which consisted of 2 cheese burgers and fries. Our meal arrived shortly thereafter. The burgers were cooked as ordered but lacked any condiments. No lettuce, tomato, or onion, just a plain bun with a meat patty and 2 pieces of cheese! There was a bottle of ketchup on the table. When I questioned our server she did volunteer to bring us some lettuce and tomato which we declined at the time. Review of menu revealed we got exactly what we ordered! We just found it odd the burger was not better presented? Fantastic selection of beer and mixed drinks which the Yardhouse has been known for. We realize they have only been open for a couple of weeks so I'm sure there are some kinks that need to worked out? Parking is a concern with the construction still underway. However, not sure how much it may improve once the Whole Foods and adjacent building open for business? Overall we had a good impression. My family and I came to this location last night and from the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and kindness. 45 min wait? Perfect. Honestly, fully expected since it's a brand new location. Our server, Hudson, was AWESOME. Great personality and he made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was busy and our food took longer then I'm sure it will a couple of months from know because the employees are literally learning still but guess what? Our food came out, it was delicious and we left full. After reading some of these reviews I am shocked by some of the harsh criticism knowing that this is a brand new location and they are mainly brand new employees to this company. When dining at a brand new opening, you cannot put all of your eggs in one basket and expect everything to go flawlessly. Be a nice human and have a little patience. I don't normally write reviews but in June 30 I went in with my friend we got seated around 7:30ish in the patio our server was suppose to be Erin . We waiting around 30 min and no one came to help. We also did the server bell button and no one. So I had to get up and ask for a server . I got the drinks in . Than Erin finally chose to show up an hour later to our table. Than she disappeared again. Other serves that weren't our attended us and re fill drinks. The table next to us got server frist even though we got there first. And Erin was there server . Kay the moment she clocked in noticed our table having issues and instantly started helping us. Those who were missing food she made sure got their food asap. Kay made sure all servers were properly communicating amongst one another to get all the food out smoothly. She also had a great attitude the whole time and made us feel comfortable communicating any issues we had. I absolutely love Yard House and have been a frequent patron of the location in Downtown Sacramento. I was extremely excited to see Yard House come to Elk Grove. The reasons I love the Sacramento location: Music is calm, good vibes; the food is top tier; great happy hour and lots of TVs for sports. I waited a few days to visit and decided to go on a Monday evening for dinner. The host greeted us at the door and gave a wait time of about 20 minutes, which was not too long. As soon as I walked in, I was instantly overstimulated. It was so noisy that I felt like I was at a game inside an arena. Once I sat down I realized why it was so noisy. The music was SO LOUD that I literally had to use a raised outdoor voice to communicate with my friend who actually sat next to me (four person table). We had to lean in to hear each other. The music was mostly hard rock with heavy guitar, which made it even more difficult to hear. Every once in a while a song would play that was easy listening and not so intense, but it was literally about every 4-5 songs. It was also extremely cold. It was warm outside, so I only had a light jacket, but I could have used a heavy sweater. The service was as to be expected for a newly opened restaurant trying to find their rhythm. Our server was very pleasant and had a beautiful smile and warm attitude. However, there were things forgotten, like silverware, water and small plates for sharing. The bartenders didn't seem to have a lot of experience with making drinks beyond what was on the menu. We had to send back a drink and a certain wine my friend wanted that was on the menu was out of stock. I will probably wait a few months for them to iron out their kinks and definitely eat outside where it was a lot more peaceful and conducive to normal conversation. I would recommend a more chill playlist at a volume that does not require raised voices just to hear the people at the table or the serving staff. read more

First time here today, Friday. Arrived about 1pm and took us straight to our seat with no wait. We sat outside under an umbrella. Restaurant has indoor seating, enclosed outdoor seating and full outdoor seating. Our waiter Diego was on top of everything and checked in on us throughout our meal. One of the managers stopped by to check on our meal and if we were enjoying our time. We had the chicken wings, giant pretzel, Mediterranean salmon and a burger with fries. 90 beers on tap, good music and a good vibe. Today was their 5th day open.
