We had a really great experience here! By visiting a little before 6:00 one Friday night, we were able to order off the happy hour menu. Yay for savings! Here's what we ordered: -chicken lettuce wraps -- fantastic! -vampire taco -- good but not worth the cost. -pig candy -- good, but easy to make at home, so probably wouldn't order again. -sliders -- very good, perfectly cooked, lots of flavor. Ask for some sauces and see what you get. Our server was really good and brought out a lemon siracha aioli, maple bacon dip, and honey mustard. Stopped in mid week for a late lunch. Friendly staff arranged for a large group (7) pretty quickly. Nice clean and cozy . Waiter was very friendly and helpful about menu choices. Great drinks and the loaded nachos were excellent. My son he the spicy chicken sandwich which he said was very good. My wife had one of their burgers which she completely finished. Enough said. We stopped by Yard House for a lunch and had a good experience. We shared a couple of appetizers - sliders, fries, and calamari. The sliders and fries were great. The calamari was extremely rubbery but came with 2 delicious sauces so that sort of evened out. I'm not a beer drinker myself but my friend was pleased with the selection. Service was good overall, but a couple of weird things. First of all, absolutely nothing was ever cleared from our table. By the end we had a total of 8 empty glasses and 4 empty plates on the table and nothing was ever removed - not the end of the world but it seems like the server could have picked up an empty now and then. The thing that was pretty inexcusable was what happened when the runner who brought the food dropped a large side of mayo on the floor right by our feet and next to the table. Accidents happen so no big deal, and miraculously none landed on us, but we were pretty much surrounded by big globs of mayo. The problem is that no one ever came to clean it up! We ate the entire meal surrounded on all sides by mayo, and when we left we had to contort ourselves to get out of the booth without getting into it. It was also a real hazard for people walking by to slip in if they didn't notice it. They weren't that busy and I feel like someone could have at least cleaned up the biggest globs! We ended up at yard house after leaving another restaurant because they got our reservation mixed up. They were very polite and accommodating for a party of 13. We were seated immediately. They have a huge menu with lots of options so be prepared to be looking for a while. I ended up getting the Parmesan pork loin with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was okay. It was like $20 something bucks & I feel that it could have been better considering the price. A lot of their menu items are a little pricey. I also got their spinach and cheese dip, again, it was just okay. It was kind of bland and the chips were super duper hard. The lighting was one of the biggest downfalls. The lights are dimmed in there so I had to get my cell phone light to look at the menu. I know thats sort of the ambiance they're going for but i would prefer better lighting. I wear glasses and my eyes are pretty bad. It was my husbands birthday and they gave him a dessert, cheesecake (which a candle and "happy birthday" written in cocoa powder). That cheesecake was soooo good. It was different than the traditional and had kind of like a brûlée finishing. Yummmmmy! The service was great. We had 2 servers which made things go a lot smoother. When I think of Yard House, I think of beer. You can see their dozens of taps from across the restaurant. This visit, however, I decided to try out their food and cocktails. Their holiday menu was still going, so I decided to try out the Rum Pumpkin Mule, which tasted very much in the spirit of the holidays because of the spices added to it. I was very impressed. Next I tried a few food items, most of them off the happy hour menu since it was still a few minutes before 6pm. First were the lettuce wraps, which came with three delicious sauces that worked very well together. Second, a vampire taco, which had a nice crust of cheese on the outside of the shell, but mostly just tasted like overpriced guacamole. Third, I ordered the pig candy, which is a jar of candied bacon and jerky. Again, it tasted good but seemed a little overpriced. Finally, I tried the sliders and fries. The sliders had nice soft buns and we were able to get a few different sauces to dip our fries into. My favorite was the garlic aioli! For dessert, I tried the watermelon margarita, which was way too sweet for me but still had a nice watermelon flavor. My husband and I picked the Yard House based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Our server Liz was great. Selected apps were half off for happy hour. Our choices were the Calimari and the chicken nachos. The calamari came with marinara and a jalapeño tartar sauce. I loved the tartar sauce, it paired very well with the calamari. Our visit was weird. We had a very hyper server who just annoyed the heck out of us. Like so hyper we kept looking at each other like what the heck is going on. My big complaint was with the menu. Specifically, what wasn't on it. They have sides available, but you have to ask the server, they aren't listed on the menu. That's probably because they are FOUR DOLLARS each. I ordered side of fruit. It was a tiny cup with just a few pieces of strawberry, pineapple, and cantaloupe. I couldn't believe it was nearly half the price of a full lunch entree. Sodas were about three dollars, also higher than most places. I had the buffalo cauliflower. It was good but undersauced. And it was served with a "spicy" tahini sauce that was neither spicy nor complemented the buffalo sauce. It was weird. I asked for blue cheese and it was much better. They also have plenty of beer on tap and some amazing cocktails. The most recent time I went with my family and ordered the Peppered Crusted Filet. It came with this brandy shallot cream sauce which definitely was a great add on to the steak which was already great! We went during Big 10 weekend so it was packed! We made a reservation so we were seated immediately. It's amazing how many people can fit in the restraint-- there are so many seats available! Of course with that many people it's going to be loud but there is no way around that. Some friends and I went during happy hour which is 3-6pm. The portions of the appetizers were so big that you can easily share with a group of people. Last time I dined here I was vegan and was served a dish made of animal meat and I didn't think that I would return. I had been vegan for almost 2.5 years and that was frustrating, but after incorporating animal products back in my body I decided to try yard house again. We stopped into Yard House before seeing Halloween downtown a couple weeks ago. It was the only place with less than an hour wait on a busy Saturday evening so we were pleased. Their menu is pretty large and diverse which is nice in a market of specialty focused cuisines. We hung out around the bar while waiting for our table. They have a nice beer selection for sure, but I think ultimately our beer felt a little flat in flavor. I'm an Amber beer girl and both that I tried were not as potent in flavor as they usually seem to be elsewhere. I was a little disappointed there was no pumpkin beer, but ultimately not a dealbreaker. We got a table fairly quickly which was awesome. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. Cozy, open, inviting, dimmed lighting. My husband ordered a burger and I ordered two tacos. I'm not a huge beans and rice girl with craft tacos so I skipped the 'meal' and opted for two tacos. I got the Baja shrimp and the Asada. Both were very delicious, incredible flavor. I think I fell short because I was still partially hungry after these still. My husbands burger was the BBQ bacon cheddar, I believe. He definitely did not have any complaints. Overall, we will be back. Some of the entrees on their menu look great. I only have positives to say about the top level customer service received from the bartenders, Kelsey and Prince, the off duty bar manager Keren and Alex, and even the service from the manager Caleb. This was my first time and they made my experience so pleasant that they've earned a lifelong customer and referrer. They were so friendly and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious and the portions were extremely generous. The poke nachos were fresh and flavorful, lots of nicely sliced tuna. We saw a sign out front advertising half off appetizers for weekday happy hour and stopped in for a snack and a drink. They had everything very spaced out, this place is HUGE inside. We sat up at a table pushed up to the bar and the bartender took care of us. She was very helpful and prompt with drinks. We ordered the poke nachos, they came out quickly and were a very large portion for two people. I asked for a side of tortilla chips as well and she brought those out immediately.
