I do not recommend this restaurant for parties more then 10. I had my daughters 16th birthday dinner here and originally reserved for 50 people. Only about 30 showed and they had a difficult time managing. No one from our party had been to this restaurant before and they all complained about the quality of the food. read more

I think this place has a really good atmosphere and a great menu. Menu is sort of elevated bar food and I think they really have something for everyone...my only complaint is the place is so darn dark. There is just about everything you can imagine. We had the Chicken Mac & Cheese, Lobster/Crab/Spinach Dip, and the Moo Shoo Egg Rolls and we were pleased with the food. The only negative about this place is it is very dimly lit and a little noisy. Our waitress had a hard time hearing and understanding our order. Service has gone downhill big time. On the most recent visit, we were told there was a 20+ minute wait to be seated, despite many, many empty tables. No problem. We decided to sit at the bar instead. . . where the bartender told us she'd be right with us, but then disappeared to the other end of the bar and did not return. We still had the buzzer thing for our table reservation, so we went back to the front area and sat and waited for our table, instead, since it was clear we were not going to get decent, or any, service at the bar. We were later seated but it was quite some time before someone came by to ask if we'd been helped. We should have left well before then, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they just had a staffing issue that day. From there, it only got worse. Long wait to get our drinks. From there, are least ten to fifteen minutes before the waiter came back to take our order. In fact, I was just getting up to leave as he came by. Food came out. Midway through, my husband and I finished our drinks. Nobody came by to offer a refill until AFTER we'd finished our food and were waiting to get the bill so we could pay and get out of there (after all, we'd already been there much longer than we planned). This place is good, but it could be so much better. The good: 100+ beers on tap, good food, and plenty of seating. The bad: The food is pretty pricey, there's no outdoor area, and it's somewhat hidden. I'll be back here for the beer selection if nothing else, but I won't be stopping by on lunch because of the price. The location is also close enough to the convention center that it gets packed when there's a convention or event in town, so consider yourself warned. I'll be anxiously awaiting the Tap opening in late 2015 for a similar, but hopefully better experience. read more

I have visited other Yard House locations and while in town I decided to try this location. I have always enjoyed the food and service that I have received at Yard House however my initial interaction with the hostess left a very bad taste in my mouth. My server was great as well as the food and all the managers on duty checked on our table as well as others wishes greatly appreciated. My issue is with their hostess who is the first point of contact for patronizing the restaurant. I wish I would've caught her name however she her hair was styled with braids. She walked over to an area and we advised her that we did not want to sit at that table and asked if other tables were open. We were not comfortable as it is where server sstore items from their tables and we didn't want that right behind us and the area was also very dark. We asked for another area and she responded by saying that they seat people in a rotation by order. Now I do have food service experience however that is not something I want to hear we simply want to see another table. She proceeds to walk away from us and go back out to the hostess station without saying anything to us. She should have asked us to follow her back to the hostess table so that she can see how else she can accommodate us by seating us at another table. Instead she sends her manager back to us basically saying we thought that there was a trashcan when she did not give her manager the full details. It was very unprofessional of her to walk away and not say anything and leave us standing there.Also please note that she had was not very pleasant when we arrived. So I asked another hostess to help us and the manager did as well. We were set at another table. When leaving the restaurant I notice that the hostess was saying goodbye to some of the other patrons that we're leaving the restaurant and when we were were leaving she didn't say a word. Her attitude was simply horrible. The last two years have been very difficult and people do not have to spend their money or patronize a restaurant. Customer Service kills or key to working in the food industry in retail. I hope that this individual does receive a talking to because she could definitely turn away other people. I am giving this a low star review simply based on the customer service that I received from the hostess. While a restaurant may have great food and service this is not give anyone an excuse to treat people poorly. read more

We were here for a work dinner and we had an Uber ride home. SO, the meal was expensed and we didn't have to drive. Great combination! The beer and cocktail list are stunning; and the wait-staff are well versed in the various beers and libations. Kudos to them! The appetizer portions could have been more generous, but that left room for me to open up some serious noshing on the main course. Because I'm on a Nashville Chicken kick right now, that's what I ordered and it showed up with a side of sweet potato pancakes. That's heaven on a plate! I'd highly recommend swinging into the Yard House the next time your travels bring you to Indy. I've been here on two separate occasions. The first time was a few months ago with my brother and wife. We came for drinks and spent several hours here. The restaurant/bar is open and spacious with plenty of seating available for whatever occasion you're celebrating. The beer selection is phenomenal. As an IPA snob, I was impressed with their selection of beer to choose from. You can't go wrong with the Fat Head Head Hunter IPA. My second time here was last night with my family, a group of 8. While I wasn't impressed with our server he had a bunch of tables and was busy so I can't complain too much. I tried the Baja Fish Street Tacos. If you're not a fan of spice then move on to something else. It comes with 2 tacos that were kind of small, but for a light dinner was probably a good portion size. The rice that comes with it is spicy as well. My wife couldn't finish her rice because it was too spicy for her. It also came with beans that were sub par. I'd skip the beans next time. Needless to say we will come back as we like to come downtown often and this is great place to get a quick bite to eat and get a drink with family and friends. read more

The Yard House is absolutely fantastic. They have a great selection of craft beers and a rotating digital menu of five. You can get any of these in pints or, as the name suggest, half yards. The craft beer selection is preemo and sure to satisfy any preferred taste. The food is what will make you come back for more. Duck wings, blackened chicken mac & cheese, truffle burger. The beer selection is great as they have roughly 75-100 beers, so they are not far behind HopCat in broad ripple. The beer is also very cold, much colder than you would generally have. In regards to pricing expect to pay $5-8 per beer. In regards to the food, the food was reasonably priced, I compare the food pricing to any other nice casual restaurant at roughly $10-20 per entree. I had the Peppered Gorgonzola Burger with Truffle Fries which were very tasty and the burger was cooked perfectly. My fiancée had the chicken bowl and raved about it. For 2 people to have 2 beers and 2 entrees, it was roughly $65 with tip. read more

I often come to yard house because I enjoy the food and atmosphere. Last night I returned to order some more food. I sat at the bar and showed my ID as usual. I ordered deviled eggs as my appetizer as well as clam chowder. Which came in a timely manner. While waiting on my appetizer I went ahead and put in my entree order. Finished my appetizer. Finished my water. Waited over 10 minutes and asked about my food. Since I ordered my meal during my appetizer, I figured my food would be coming shortly. The manager came and apologized and finally filled my water up. Eventually my food came but it took forever to get another refill of water. Took about 10 minutes to flag down a bartender to cash out. And then once the bartender took my card she put it in her back pocket and we waited about another 10 minutes. And never received a water refill. Smh read more

I read a few reviews that the service was slow. I'd have to agree but, that behind said: this isn't an establishment you dine at if you want to eat and leave. I would give this place 3.5 stars. Their beer lineup is, of course, great, but they only had 20-30 Indiana beers when we went, possibly less. The food was very good, but my major issue was that we had a few beers and some appetizers.....and my bill was $100 after tax and tip! I'm starting to think in hindsight that we were just accidentally over-charged. Had it been $50-60 (what I expected to pay), this would be a totally good spot to check out in downtown Indy. I do recall the waitress was more than happy to bring us sample after sample of beer for what I thought was no charge.....maybe those samples were NOT free! read more

Over the weekend, we went to Yard House to kick off my sister's 21st birthday celebrations with dinner and cocktails. Our food and drinks were alright, but the service was terrible. Our waitress took almost half an hour to bring one of us a martini and forgot about my sister's entree until all the rest of our food was cold. I also had to go to the bar to get a glass of water because our waitress didn't bring a glass for me. In town for a conference and walked past this place all week. Stopped to check out the menu on the wall on my way back to my hotel. So glad I did! After eating crap all week, I found a huge list of fresh vegetable - filled salads. After my workout, I called for take out. Super friendly and repeated my order to make sure it was right. Ten minutes later I'm there to pick it up. More super friendly hosts offer to check on my order. And while I wait, she brings me a to - go soft drink. Lots of bustle and all of it done with a big smile. So I get back to my room, excited to try the salad. It's beautiful! The container is the kind you can reseal and shake after you pour on the dressing. How does it taste? In a word, awesome. In two, plentiful. There was more than enough chicken and not an overload of lettuce. I got my veggie fix and I'm sooooo satisfied. Why only four stars and not 5? No croutons or bread. But I bet if I'd asked, I'd have them, so probably my own fault. read more

Probably one of the best things I've yet to put in my mouth. You cannot tell it's pork, that is how good it is. Our server explained it to us as the type of pork is the equivalent of Kobe beef. The good stuff. It has spicy candied bacon, arugula, white cheddar, and blueberry ketchup. That's right, blueberry. It's so subtle though and just the right amount of sweetness. I upgraded to the truffle fries because truffle. And, we tried the firecracker wings which were very meaty and had a nice sweet chili spice to them. My husband ordered the spicy thai chicken pizza and it was also good-even heated up well the next day. We had to try a vampire taco as well. Visited Yard House during my trip to Indy for the football game. Stopped at Yard House because my girlfriend mentioned their wide range of beers on tap which sparked my interest. Yes, the beer list was huge! We waited for awhile after being seated which was a tad frustrating, but when the waiter came he was very pleasant. He even tried to make our dining experience pleasant by turning our TV to the football game we requested. I also ate there and tried their Jambalaya which was amazing. Thought about it on the drive home, so I'll definitely order that again along with something new to try. I'm a fan! read more

Vegans and vegetarians rejoice! Yard House has answered our prayers. All the delicious taste sensations that we have been denied in support of our principles have finally been satisfied! I can't remember the last time I tasted a blackened "chicken" sandwich or a "chicken" Thai pizza. I am in vegan Heaven. I ordered the Gardein Blackened Chicken Torta and, honestly, I can't even remember the last time I tasted blackened anything. Absolutely, this sandwich is a taste sensation. Every bite made me smile and mutter "mmmmm." We also ordered the Gardein Spicy Thai Chicken Pizza. Yum! Just the right amount of spicy and delish; the firecracker sauce makes the dish. Oh! And you have GOT to try the Crispy Brussel Sprouts & Ripped Potatoes. Oh my. The malt vinegar aoili upon which they rest is to die for! Ok. Try it. This rating is based only on customer service or lack there of. I was in town for a sporting event and am aware there would be an issue of being very busy. That being said, there was a 45 minute wait but at least half of the restaurant had empty tables. We proceeded to the bar area with a group of six finding an open table with in the bar area. We sat down in the very rude manager came to our table and acted as if we just robbed a bank. There were no signs indicating that the seats within the bar required hostess seating. We have never been treated so rudely. There are many fine dining options within Indianapolis, don't waste your money here. Perhaps it's time to do A customer service training for the staff and ego inflated management. read more

I been to Yard House for sometime now. On Wednesday they have half price wine by bottle. Always ordered bottle of Stags Leap Cab for half price. Was there last night 12.11.19 and all of a sudden I was told the Stags Leap is not part of half price by bottle. No big deal if the bartender did not open the wine and already poured into glasses by the time she informed us so we had no choice but to purchase the wine. Spoke to the Manager Kara and explain the situation. She could careless and made me feel like I am a liar. She has no business being in hospitality service as a manager. Never ever will go there again. If you are entertaining client or friends I would Recommend Ruth Chris, Harry's and Izzy's or 1933 Lounge. You can purchase beer in 3 sizes all the way up to half yards. I appreciate that there is a style for everyone. After looking over the beer list however I could't find much that I hadn't tried before. There are a lot of excellent flagship beers from local and national breweries here: Three Floyds Alpha King, Daredevil Lift Off, Flat 12 Hello My Name is Amber, Scarlet Lane Lenore, Lagunitas IPA, Left Hand Milk Stout, Founders Oatmeal Stout, Stone IPA, Bells Two Hearted, etc. however there isn't much available if your looking for something outside of the regular. Hey, sometimes a flagship is all you're after and there isn't anything wrong with that. These are totally legit beers but if you want something different this isn't the place. Then...there is the pricing factor....pints are between $6-$8. I saw Corona & Smithwicks on the menu for $7, now that is just missed up! Ordered a Founders on Nitro and it tasted off. If you're visiting Indiana and are looking for a convenient downtown option to try a variety of local and national brews that is huge with a commerical feel this is a great place to start...better yet, if you're in a tap room mood I would recommend heading on over to Tomlinson Tap Room (for local options) & a little further... Twenty Tap where you will find a lot of unique offerings in a more personal setting. read more

Great job on day two of being open, but highest beer prices I've seen downtown. Limit of two tastes per person. 133 beers and after two tastes you just have to gamble I guess. Good beers are poured in smaller goblets instead of pint glasses. Staff is great, but corporate policies really limit their flexibility. Flights are pre selected because they have too many beers to let people pick their own. Food prices are up there with fine dining, but the quality is not fine dining. Would not suggest to friends. Too many places that have beer specials and are local to pay top price for corporate chain type atmosphere. read more
