This was our go-to restaurant for outings. The first time was great, second our meals came out wrong, also cold, the manager said they would send us a GC. She collected our address and one was never sent. Our third time back was out last. Good was cold, yet again, and the service was slow. Really a 4.5. If I were rating on service alone, our server, Dani, would get 5 stars for sure. Dani made our table of 5, all of which had never dined here before, feel quite at home and she took the time to answer all our question. She was fully knowledgeable about the entire menu, food, drinks, beers. We really appreciate when a server can walk us through a beer selection. I did notice in reading others' reviews here, that Yardhouse management actually reads and responds to reviews in Yelp, so, Yardhouse management, please give due recognition to Dani, she is awesome! Now on to the meal. Appetizers our table had were the Mediterranean Flatbread Pizza, the hummus, lobster/crab dip, and pork belly taco. All were very good. Not great, but very good nonetheless. For our entrees, I really don't remember what everyone had, because I was so enraptured by my meal, LOL. I looked up the menu just now and I think I got all but one entrée. My fella had the Hongas Y Rajas tacos, he liked them very much, only wishes they were a little bigger, next time he would probably add one. I had the Baja Fish Tacos, and they really are superb, they are my new favorite fish taco. There is another restaurant that I have held in high esteem for their fish tacos for a long, long time. It was the yardstick by which all other fish tacos were measured. Yardhouse fish tacos has overtaken that #1 spot, they are THAT good. My brother had the lobster and garlic noodles, my sister had the shrimp and pasta, and I can't remember for the life of me what my sister in law had, but I know all three of them really liked their meals and ate every last bit. My fella and I were, at that point, very glad we only had 2 tacos each because we shared a S'Mores Brownie for dessert, and it was eyes roll back in your head good. FRESH BAKED TO ORDER brownie. About an 9" round pan of brownie, graham cracker crust, gooey marshmallows, chocolate chips, and we added a little chocolate sauce just for decadence's sake. OMG, it's put you in a sugar coma good. My sister in law had the cheesecake, which was absolutely perfect. everyone else was too full for dessert. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. The one and only complaint is that our first beer selection was out of stock, my sister's first selection too. It's understandable in a way, they were at a time when some of their non-permanent selections were being changed out for new selections, but perhaps communication to wait staff should be better about this so patrons are not disappointed to find that the beer they spent 10 minutes selecting from the awesome list of beers is no longer available. read more

Saturday night was packed with an hour wait. We had wanted to go to Cowfish next door but that wait was almost 3 hours. This was my second Yard House and everything was consistant with the other one I had been to in Virginia Beach. Our server Megan was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the food. Took the wife and 9 year old out on a whim. We ended up parking indoors across the street by the Harris Teeter, which was no hassle at all. Our initial reaction was positive upon seeing a slick, happening place with a patio and glass tanks with fire in them. We were quoted 30-40 minutes for a table and it turned out to be an hour, but it was Friday night at 7:30, so we were okay with that. The layout was nice with the bar being the focal point-- tis a huge oval shaped island bar with 140 beers on tap. We ended up at a booth long enough to seat like 12 people. Televisions were scattered throughout the restaurant which lent itself well to the overall theme. Our waitress, Michelle, was very nice and greeted us right away even though the restaurant and bar were jam packed. While the atmosphere was lively, the noise was ridiculous-- I felt like I was at an NFL game as far as noise level goes. For starters we had the lobster artichoke dip which was delicious-- great flavors and could actually taste the lobster. The shrimp ceviche was okay, but nothing special. Wine list was decent, paid $40 for the Merryvale Starmount chardonnay which is an average price for a good chard of that quality. The beer list is quite extensive. This would be a great place to catch a game with friends and try nice beers. Ordered the grilled Korean pork belly tacos which had a whole smorgasbord of flavors going on-- enjoyed them very much. Also ordered the organic tomato bisque which was okay, but nothing to write home about. Wife ordered the enchilada stack which had a nice presentation, and tasted good. Daughter enjoyed her hot wings. The service was great throughout-- the wait staff appeared to be very upbeat, and the lady who brought our wine to the table was very nice. All in all, this was good. I would definitely go back with friends to watch sports and have beer with appetizers, but the noise level was a bit too much to enjoy a family meal. Good not Great...went in to catch the game and they did have it on alot of TVs but the sound just came off as muffled and not crisp. I have to admit, I was surprised by Yard House. On a rainy Thursday night, we decided to hit up this new North Hills spot for a few beers and some grub. I knew they had a lot of taps, but wow... they have a LOT of beer! Crazy selection, so you'll definitely find something you like. I think they offer tasting flights, too. The only downside is the price... $6.50+ for a pint. However, the food was actually really delicious and much better than expected from a place that really touts their beer. Our table ordered the Chicken Nachos, two salads (Ahi Crunchy and BBQ Chicken), and a burger (Avocado Swiss). Everything was great. They offer half- and full-sized portions of their salads, which is a big plus. Our waitress was super friendly, too. The price is the only downside, but it's comparable to everything else in the area, so you can't blame them too much. Overall, a great experience! read more

I am writing this review after my 2nd visit to the Yard House. The first time I went to a Yard House was in Irvine, CA and it was a great experience. I can not say the same for the Raleigh location. The first time I visited here was before the NC State/Duke game and was excited to try watch the game here. To my surprise I was told that they don't play audio for any games. Ummm OK! You have lots and lots of TVs and claim to be a sports bar but won't play audio. THAT MAKES SENSE! We ended up going across the street to Sparians to watch the game but I still wanted to try the food so we came back after the game. When I walked in I was told by the host that they ended up playing audio for the game since there was so many requests. SERIOUSLY! We were seated promptly and planned on ordering some food and drinks. We waited and waited for a waitress to come to our table. When we finally got one it was pretty bad service. She kept forgetting our drink order and took at least 20 minutes to bring it. We ended up having one drink and left. God knows when we would have ever received our food. I decided to give them another shot the other day. This time the service was excellent but the value of the food is not that good. There are too many items on the menu and the place loses focus. There were a few items on the menu that were good. Truffle Fries and the Jerk Wings were very good. On the other hand the TACOS were a HUGE disappointment. They charge almost $5 for an individual taco that is very tiny and not that tasty. It baffles my mind how you can justify charging that much for a taco that does not even taste good. Not a good value at all so beware and stay away from them. I also wish they would have some drink specials. Most places in Raleigh do and the fact that they don't is another knock on this place. The place is very modern and nice but if the service sucks and the food is sub par I will pass. This could be just a happening place but the way its managed, the prices, and the overall experience is not worth it. read more

The service was spot on but I felt for the prices the food was lack luster. I will say the nachos were awesome but the sliders I ordered were not good and undercooked. I feel the menu is a little overwhelming and I think the only time I would go back is for happy hour drinks. This place was WONDERFUL! My Dad knows I'm a beer snob, so he suggested we go to Yard House when my husband and I visited the Raleigh area. You walk in, it looks like a typical sports bar, lots of video screens, dark decor, loud music. We were there for lunch, so there were lots of families, but i imagine it's more the sports bar/happy hour crowd at night. we ate lunch outside, where they have plenty of umbrellas over the tables and it was much quieter. When I read a beer menu, and have trouble deciding what to get (because I want everything), and then look at the food menu and have trouble deciding what i want (because I want everything), this is a sign of a great place. Service was fast, staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the drinks, the menu items, and other cities where they have location. Lunch was "burgers and beer", but one of our better restaurant experiences in the Raleigh area. they need to open more locations in the Chicago area! read more

A fantastic beer, wine, and cocktail selection combined with a delicious menu serving both meat and vegetarian options. You can't beat it! The food was fantastic and the overall vibe and feel of the place was great. If you're looking for a nice relaxing night out and some great food and alcohol, you've come to the right place. Love the beer selection, the food was real tasty, nice fresh fish and a good Asian flair. The service was friendly, but needs to be a little more attentive. Usually so in love with this place. Ordered the roast beef dip and it came without dip!. Tried the horseradish aoli and it was super sweet - I don't need sugar in my horseradish, please. Then bread to meat ratio not cool. I had to eat it without the bread just to taste the meat. Will never order this again. Skimped on everything. Oh, and got broccoli for my side dish thinking it would be cooked. Nope. Raw or flash-steamed so next to raw with no seasoning or butter or anything. If you're going to give me raw broccoli, at least give me something to dip it in. (not sweet horseradish, k?) If I come back will definitely order something different. read more

If you're looking for good grub and a huge beer selection in Raleigh's North Hills neighborhood, you can't really go wrong with Yard House. This massive, upscale sports bar is a great spot to unwind after work -- or anytime for that matter. With TVs in every corner and a seemingly endless wall of taps, it fit the bill for me during a recent business trip to North Carolina's capital city. Very popular spot and gets crowded on the weekends. I've been a few times. They have a gluten-free menu and the food is very good. I had the salmon with the quinoa salad. Our waitress talked us into getting a 32-oz of cider, and I caution you that it comes in a really awkward, long glass. I have no Qualms with Yard House. The atmosphere is always electric and you can expect a wait for a table pretty much any night of the week. I opt for a bar seat if there's an opening. The menu and food are fantastic and offer great tapas style apps, an incredible beer selection and some underrated cocktails. They are always well staffed and despite what I would guess to be a 50 seat bar, the bartenders are always attentive and never more than a few feet away. The only negative here is the parking but that came with the territory and location so it's hard to fault for that. Expect the small lot to be full and you will likely have to valet up front. read more

This place has really taken a turn for the worse. They have a cool menu with lots of options but everything we ordered was garbage. Processed, reheated garbage. Two of our appetizers were comped due to the fact that the pita chips they served were most definitely reused. I mean they had hardened guacamole on them. I stepped in here a few weeks back for my best friends birthday. This place was packed. It took us about a hour to find a table. But, without a reservation for 8, what are you going to do. I was really impressed by their beer selection. I am kind of surprised world of beers next door, didn't sign a compete contract, as yardhouse is killing them. The food here was pretty good. I started with a appetizer the first time. A flat bread. Then I came back a few weeks later, tried the tun, not to bad. The second part was the tacos I ordered. White fish and steak. While they had great taste, wow, for a sports bar, that thing was tiny. It could have almost been appetizer. This place is great to grab a drink with friends, as far as food goes, don't go hungry. read more

First, I find it hilarious when people say they come here because they do not eat in chan restaurants. Seriously folks, this IS a chain. Maybe not of McDonald's or Applebee's proportions but because it is new to Wake County doesn't mean..... Oh, forget it, I digress. Second, everyone comments on the noise level. It is a bar. It is one awesomely open large room. It has no carpet. It has high ceilings. There are tons of tv's. Of course it is loud. Third, prices? Yep, they are steep. But seriously, 2 appetizers could feed 4 people; portions are huge!! An entree should easily be spilt (or at a minimum box 1/2 for left overs) so on a per person or per serving price, everything seems in line. Few girlfriends & I went for happy hour on a Wednesday. Got there around 5 so there were plenty of seats but friends who have been at a regular dinner hour all say to expect a wait. We sat at the bar..... For several hours! By the time we left, there was quite the wait and we were gently being stalked for our primo corner bar seats. The menu is large. Probably 10+ of their apps were 1/2 priced 'til 6 pm. The half priced apps were also FULL sized (score!). The bar tenders took care of us by committee. Even so, they took it upon themselves to look at our ticket to see what we were having. This, versus, "hey, would you like another one?" (response, "sure"), not followed by "and what were you having again?" .... So basically, it didn't matter if one bartender took the order and another refilled the order, everyone was on the same page. That may seem petty, but personally I think that speaks to quality customer service. Anyway... Place is cool; selection is awesome; most things I tried were tasty (friend who had ordered calamari on a different visit did not recommend that)...... Looking forward to going back to enjoy the patio. read more

Dined at this establishment with my party of eight. The occasion was celebrating my mom's birthday and two of our relatives came all the way from NY to visit. Yard House was a recommendation by my dad who was an avid patron of another Yard House in Florida. Unfortunately it was a bit difficult to be able to make conversation as the noise level in this restaurant was uncomfortably high. Even my dad noted the Florida establishment wasn't as loud despite having as many people. Perhaps they should invest in some noise-canceling installations. My experience was average, just okay. Out of all the dishes I'd say Yard House is the best at beer, sandwiches, fries, and salads. The truffle fries and crab dip I shared were nice, for example. I do not think they do miscellaneous dinner entrees very well, or at least not as good as they could be. I ordered the garlic lobster noodles. The menu description made me think I would be getting a scampi-like product with tender morsels of lobster, crab, and shrimp atop a bed of buttered garlic noodles with shiitake and spinach. What I actually got was a stirfry of lo mein noodles--which I was OK with but I think someone with a distaste for asian cuisine would have sent it back. Not to mention the seafood bits, while authentic and not fake, were gritty. More than a few times I experienced the unsavory *CRUNCH* of sand/shell grit in my teeth, eughhh. Those with sensitive teeth beware of their shellfish dishes! The flavors were there but my expectation of the dish was not reasonably met. I also felt really bad for the servers. This restaurant is absolutely chaotic about getting orders out, and that's probably in part due to the noise. It took quite a bit of shuffling to get our plates to the correct people, and in general the servers seemed overwhelmed. Our server that we had was quite nice and I wish I heard her name over the volume.. I'd go back a second time but I would only select certain things and not expect much of their more expensive entrees like the one I had tonight. read more

Make reservations if going on for dinner on Sat! We arrived for our reservation and there was a bit of a crowd waiting. We were seated right away. The drinks were delicious. Food was above average, service was average but overall great menu choices and decent atmosphere. We found out accidentally that the restaurant has a dedicated parking garage as parking at this location is scarce. Be sure to call and ask about it because there is no signage for it in the busy shopping center. read more

The speakers above our table, delivering the sound of the football game no one cares about. What a horrible experience. I would have ordered take out and watched at home if I wanted this. This is an upscale sports pub. I really like the location and outdoor patio at North Hills. The menu features many interesting choices. The seared Scallops were great. The establishment is very well run, and we received excellent service. The prices run from moderate to a bit expensive on most items. I think this is an excellent addition to the dining scene. read more

Great place and service was over the top. The only complaint is the price of the beers some can get really high. Food was great hamburger, fries, pizza all awesome! The atmosphere is great whether you want to sit at the bar or in a booth secluded. One great thing is they have a family restroom, so if you have kids this works out very well! read more

We also had the roast beef sandwich with homemade potato chips. The chips were cold. I would have rather had Lay's. Nothing special about the sandwich. Went there for dinner a couple of weeks ago. First impression was that it was very loud. The music was blaring to the point we had trouble talking to the waiter when ordering. Other than that the atmosphere were what you would expect from a chain sports bar type place. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It was definitely a step up from what I expected. I don't know I will return anytime soon as I usually like a quieter environment but the food made this a place that I would recommend if volume isn't an issue for you. read more

This is a update to previous review. The one star is to one particular waitress. I really don't think that she is Yard house quality. I went early and sat at bar and had a beer while my wife and daughter ran to vineyard vines across the way. They arrived one beer later and we were seated at a table. Table was dirty and it was in the corner but ok. In any event, it was 3:30 and not busy at all. Well we say there, after 5 minutes a waitress with whom I mentioned above with long reddish hair in a pony tail came and said she would be back in 2 seconds. We watched her walk around talk to staff and after 10 minutes we got up and left. We ended up going to Cowfish next door where thankfully we had some great food and the server was fantastic. Came in on wed night for dinner for a friends birthday. Heather was our Waitress. She was amazing!! I liked her from the start. We went to the same college - in a different state! I love that she wasn't just there to take our order. She made us feel so welcomed. We shared lobster Dip and fried Mac and cheese (yum). Caesar salad was delicious. She even made sure to get a dinner made for our friend who never orders off the actual menu. Just moved to town and will definitely be back read more
