Amazing owner- she is so sweet! Food is take out only- ready in 30 mins after ordering. I highly recommend every single roll I pictured. So delicious! They order all the fish fresh. It's fantastic! One of the best places to eat in Lincoln City!!!!

I am from California to visit my cuz. We went to this sushi place for dinner and ONG it was so good. The only thing it is take out only and when they are out of fish they close till the next day. So if no one answer call back tomorrow.

Smothered in a spicy mayo spider roll, I wasn't be able to taste of the sushi roll

Recently tried Yatai with high expectations based on reviews & recommendations. I ordered a Spider roll & a Rainbow roll, my Spider was smothered in Spicy Mayo & Rainbow roll wasn't very fresh, fish was on the dryish side, the lady in register was extremely rude, I was really planning on coming back since theirs not to many good sushi restaurants in the area. Not upset, just disappointed.

Would've liked a tad more salmon on the rainbow roll. Tuna was good. No indoor seating. Checkout lady was kind of curt.

We visit the coast every 3 weeks. For the past month & 1/2 they have been on vacation so we were disappointed not to try their food. We finally made it yesterday, we had the regular Yatai sashimi + scallop roll + the super spider roll. Everything was absolutely delicious .. To go only. When they run out of fresh fish they will shut down. We told the young lady that we would be back on Sunday for lunch since they are only open for 3 hours, she said we will not be open as it is my mother's birthday. I love it when a business takes charge of their products, schedules and puts personal issues ahead of everything else. Just love this place.

Ordered the yatai roll and 2 seared salmon. Perfect amount for my husband and I to share. So fresh and absolutely delicious. We'll never skip this place when in town

Great spread of various rolls that were tasty and well prepared

I admit, I was skeptical at first... sushi in the middle of a tourist coastal town? How on earth can the fish be fresh? Well it's probably flash frozen but nonetheless, I have to give it a hearty thumbs up! Tasty, creative and a healthy portion. Sure cost is a bit higher but your not in a main city where materials are easier to get daily. It's a single chef and probably his wife but they works extremely hard and fast. It's also only takeout at this time meaning you better anticipate about a 60 minute wait after you place your order. You can call but sometimes you won't get through with others bombarding the place. Best is to arrive early and place your order, go do something else and come back at the designated time.

This was good sushi. This was not great sushi. This maybe because you are doing take away and not eating immediately after fish was removed from cooler. We enjoyed them and finished them. They do not serve Japanese beer nor sake...downer. Only take away no in restaurant dining.

Yatai Sushi reminds me of a spot from the Anthony Bourdain days. Restaurants like this simply don't exist anymore. This will be the best sushi you'll ever eat.

Very good sushi for this area. I just wish they would open for dine in. By the time we pick it up and bring it home it doesn't have quite the fresh appearance I expect when dining out. Part of the experience is seeing the unique way in which each sushi chef creates their rolls and I imagine this place would ace that! But, I get it. They can keep the prices reasonable and serve way more people through the window as the inside is super small. Very nice lady who takes your order, she keeps her cool even when inundated with people at the window. Lincoln City is lacking in good, fresh restaurants that don't just deep fry the heck out of everything - so Yatai stand out among all the other places.

    Rainbow Roll- sonyummy!

Ask the Community - Yatai Sushi

My husband loves sushi...sadly,I don't..... do you have teriyaki...or Bento Boxes..anything BUT sushi?

Really only sushi and poke bowls, but I encourage you to at least try the farmer's roll (vegetarian)! They have miso soup too.

Three double thick slices of their Wildflower bread with a small fruit garnish. (I was going to be hiking out to the God's Thumb and figured lots of carbs were in order.) The wait staff was friendly and I was seated right away. So why only four stars? The building, actually a repurposed house has marvelous bones and the woodland setting out the back is dreamy but the interior decor takes little advantage of this and for this reason pulls down the ambience of the establishment. Don't get me wrong it's spacious, clean, and tidy, it could just use a little more decor that captures the setting and the cottage feel of the building, IMO. Additionally the menu is a bit sparse for such a nice place that does its own baking. I believe they used to offer crêpes. The beverage menu is begging for a proper set of specialty espresso coffee and tea offerings. And yes I would go again.

One of them (can't remember the name but it was Mexican food) was a bit of a dud but the other two were great. This pod had both outdoor and indoor seating which is nice. The bathrooms, while dark, were clean. Just a reminder that dogs are not permitted and neither is outside food. We don't come to Lincoln City often but I'd come back to this pod in the future.

La Wawa Puerto Rican Soul Food - Lincoln City, OR…read more Driving on the way back from Newport, OR to Seaside, OR .. we were hoping to find a spot for some great vegan food. A quick Google search and we landed upon a perfect option, La Wawa Puerto Rican Soul Food. When looking up their menu we were thrilled to see, not just items that could probably be accidentally vegan ... no no, they have a full on Vegan Plate listed in their menu! In addition to including a picture of the actual food we received, I've also included a picture of the Vegan Plate as listed directly on their website. For your plate, you get some typical staples of slaw, rice, beans, maduros and tostones, each item seemed perfectly spiced and flavored and the respective textures were spot on as well. We actually ordered a separate side of tostones to hold us for the drive back (waiting until back in the room before wolfing down for the Vegan Plate). So, one word of caution ~~ blink and you'll miss them ~~ especially if driving at night as they are based out of a food truck. Whatever listing we found for them when Googling, we failed to take notice of their business model being a food truck model as opposed to a brick and mortar location. They are right on south side of Highway 101 so they're easy to find so long as you're using Google Maps or Waze and mindful that you're looking for a food truck. There's a lot of options in the North Oregon Coast, some accidentally vegan, some specifically labelled vegan, Pizza, Thai, Sushi, etc ... all great options. The Puerto Rican food was something we found to be a bit unique for the area. So if you're looking for something just a bit different than the norm, along with the comfort of knowing you're eating a vegan dish ... you need to drop on by and show them some appreciation!

The owners Eddie and Amanda are phenomenal people and excellent chefs. Forgot to check in today and take pictures, but our appetizer of tostones (fried green plantains), entree's of chuleta's (pork chops) and beans and rice, dessert of maduros (fried sweet plantains) and cafe cubanos was so delicious and satisfying. They are in a new location near a wooded area off the 101 that's cute - we saw a huge family of Does and their fawns, too. Give them a try next time you're in Lincoln city. Buen provecho :) PS - there is plenty of parking and the dispensary does allow you to use the restroom, they let my husband use it. There are plenty of nearby public restrooms with beautiful ocean views, too.
