I've been going here since I was a kid and it's been my favorite place for Chinese food! Service here is always wonderful! Servers are kind and really make you feel welcomed and are quick to assist. Even better, the food comes out so fast, perfect for when your whole family is hungry. The interior is clean and the table set up ideal for sharing. On the food: my family does not eat pork or shellfish for religious reasons (along with some vegetarians in the extended) and Yea's Wok has aways been very accommodating with substitutes that are within reason. For example, the green beans can easily have the pork removed and the Mongolian Beef can be made as a tofu version that's just as delicious! Customer Service and Efficiency 5/5 We were seated right away on a Saturday at 4:50. Our food came out almost immediately and waters refilled whenever it looked low. 2/5 hot and sour soup. It wasn't sour. Mostly sweet and mildly spicy. It had too many vegetables in it though. My husband hated that it had cabbage in it. 2/5 salt and pepper calamari. It was tough and fishy. 4/5 honey walnut shrimp. Not super crispy but I liked that it was lightly dusted rather than full battered that some places mistakenly do. The sauce was good. You get so much for the price though so it gets a high score for that. 3/5 Mongolian beef. It was mildly spicy, if that. It was super tender which I liked but my husband said he didn't like that. Since moving away, it has been a number of years since the last time we ate at Yea's Wok in Newcastle (south Bellevue). When coming back to the area for a visit, we were SO excited to go there again! Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good as we remembered. We ordered several of our usual favorites. * The green beans were WAY overcooked! They were wrinkly, and fell limp when picked up. * There was so much sauce with the Mongolian beef that we could hardly tell there was any meat. * The General Tsao's chicken pieces were super large (more like the size of tenders, but many some people like them that big...‍) and were also overcooked, to the point that the meat inside the breading was super hard. * The Hot & Sour soup was goopy - thinking they used too much of either cornstarch or arrowroot. * The best part was the Fried Rice, which was lack-luster, at best. We paid over $125.00 for this meal and walked away not wanting to ever go back, which makes us so sad because this truly used to be the best in the King County area. read more

I just came back here for dine in for a family member's birthday and we were very impressed with everything as well as the food presentation. We ordered the three cup chicken, pork intestine, and fish sauce egg plant. My favorite will still be the three cup chicken as the flavor is strong and unique. The pork intestines were also super good and spicy. The eggplant had good flavor but might be a tad sweet, but that's something I've noticed with fish sauce eggplant at many Chinese restaurants in the US. Also the fish tank is super cool too! The dine in experience is perfect, because the restaurant is clean, it's always busy- good sign- and the service, impeccable! It has been a while since we've gone to place but it never disappoints. A good indicator is the constant crowd of people filling the tables inside and of course the good food. The menu is like reading through an encyclopedia but one of our favs is the volcano fried rice! The hot and sour was also on par and the eggplant and fish in a garlic chicken broth sauce was tasty. Their Mongolian beef is also worth a try. The Mapo tofu is one of our top choices too. This time the one dish that was a bit soggy were the garlic beans but overall were OK but I'd skip it. COVID-19 take out: We've been coming to Yea's Wok for years and they seem to be just as busy during the pandemic as they were before! You know it's good because there's always a line waiting to pick up. We order online, and then it's an hour wait until pick up, even on weeknights, so plan ahead! We usually order the Mongolian chicken and beef, chicken chow mein, a side of rice, and the garlic broccoli or the green beans. This is enough for dinner for our family of 4 and then we have leftovers for lunch the next day! read more

So literally every single person I'm close to here has been telling me to try and review this place. My work "mom" is Taiwanese and said this is one of her favorite places to go. So when ordering I went for some classics and ventured into the unknown as well. I got some steamed potstickers, as steamed stuff is my go to, to check for quality, and they are easy to mess up if you don't properly seal them. These were heavenly, the texture was great, the dough wasn't super heavy, but not too light either, and the filling had a good texture and ratio. It came with dumpling sauce and it was absolutely perfect. What's not pictured here is the wonton soup, and it was wonderful, wontons were cooked perfectly and soft but not gummy. I have never had wonton soup so I wasn't expecting a beef broth, I think it was, but after adjusting it was very good. I think I was going into it thinking it was going to be similar to miso soup, it's got a strong beef flavor and savory, but not salty like miso. I added a few tiny drops of dumpling sauce in it for a more salty flavor and it was even better. Now for the main dish and uncharted territory. I got the wood camphor and tea smoked Duck. I didn't know what to expect except the smoke flavor and that's not really what I got. The "smoke" flavor in this is very subtle and very different. It's nothing like the American "smoked" flavor people would think of when they hear the word "smoked." This is subtle, like an aftertaste like when you drink green tea. The smoke flavor compliments and kind of hides the gaminess of the meat. The skin of the duck was so succulent, and so beautiful with its deep golden color. There were like five ladies when I walked in and they were all very nice, when I came to put in my order. This was very different from what I've tried before, but it was so delicious, I will definitely be here again. read more

With limited Cantonese restaurants on the Eastside, Yea's Wok has been one of our main go-tos for southern Chinese food. We used to come here to dine-in on special occasions such as New Years. Even before Covid struck, Yea's Wok has been a popular place for takeout. Whenever we ate in, there would be stacks of takeout boxes lined up on their counter. This is our second or third time doing takeout from Yea's during Covid. On our most recent visit, we ordered the Chicken Drumsticks in a dark soy and wine sauce (I forget what the menu name is), the Chinese Eggplant with Basil, and the Mongolian Shrimp. Our favorite of the three dishes was the Chinese Eggplant- it had a very very strong basil flavor and also had blocks of tofu in it! The chicken drumsticks were also decent, but they're not really drumsticks... more like chicken with the bone still in it. Regardless, they braise it in a potent and savory sauce that makes your mouth water for more. Our least favorite was the Mongolian shrimp- it didn't have a lot of taste, and the dish was mainly cabbage and onions with a sweetened peanut oil sauce. We've had their honey walnut shrimp before and that was much better. The person on the phone was pleasant and told us that they'd have our order ready within thirty minutes. First time here! And the food is top notch. We loved the crispy noodles! The porkchop was also good but some aren't seasoned properly but overall crunchiness is very good. The customer service is awesome. For a small chinese restaurant, customer service is usually a hit or miss. I used to like this restaurant but after the very negative experience tonight? I'll never go back. Be aware that the prices on their website are nothing like what they expect you to pay when you arrive. It is in my opinion false advertising! I found 'shrimp and vegetables on their on-site menu for $11.95 and thought / great price, worth the half hour drive. So when I arrived, the woman at the counter said "$54.39 for two chicken and vegetable dishes and one side of white rice." I said, 'I'm sorry but that's not what we ordered and how can it be $30 more than the ADVERTISED price on their online menu? We had a discussion at the cash register - I showed the woman the online price on my phone and she argued that whoever 'created their website was in error and they should have changed it.' Really? Very dissatisfied with Yea's Wok! The food was OK but be warned... With tip? (What was I thinking!) the meal my husband and I anticipated paying $24 for morphed into $62.55. Ouch. read more

this place is very dishonest restaurant!! First of all check is in all CHINESE , even serve/busser can't even read it. Second. if your party is more then 5 do not tip. they put tip under SUBTOTAL make it look like its not tip. SO DONT TIP if u have a large group third, portion dropped by a lot and others see that as well.. which I do understand bc of inflation... but they charge of slice white onion???? TO owner. do you know how much is 50lb of white onion?? $14.99!! and for small portion you will charge?? be honest ..
