We finally got a chance to go check this place out and they did not disappoint! We had a large party so we called ahead to reserve a spot and since we were a big party they gave us one of the private rooms! Adequately seats 11 people but be prepared to get a little warm. As for the food. We went with the 5lb broil Witt our choice of seafood eats! Shrimp, crab legs, mussels, clams, and crawfish. A free cold dish comes with the broil and we went with the spicy chicken gizzards. Extremely spicy reminiscent of the numbing spice flavor Delicious but spicy. As for the broil. YH's BBQ & Crab is in the corner of the shopping center with Sweet Hut on Pleasant Hill Rd. They're in soft open right now. The interior is nicely decorated with lots of wood and grey brick walls. The lighting and materials make it seem really cozy. The menu is full of choices like skewers, boiled seafood selections, hot pot, and some cold dishes. I almost went with clams, but I decided to go with the 1lb crawfish seafood boil Hot and Spicy since that's a good baseline dish. The presentation was like art. It reminds me of the BBQ Shrimp from Pascal's Manale in New Orleans swimming in a bowl of butter and spices. The crawfish were neatly arranged in a small pile in the middle of a bowl of red hot bean broth/sauce and red chilies instead of butter like you would get New Orleans style. Not waiting for everything to cool down, I started shucking the crawfish and got burned several times, but it was worth it. The broth/sauce had diced ginger and garlic, red bean paste, red chili peppers, and sichuan peppercorn with some cilantro for garnish. It was slightly sweet, most likely from the garlic and not added sugar. The level of heat was enjoyable with the Sichuan peppercorn adding to the depth of flavor. This isn't the pure fire and pain like Red Crawfish has on their boiled selections. If you're looking for pain this isn't that hot, but it is enjoyable. I definitely want to come back and try this with clams and also try out some of the skewers as well. If you're bored with Cajun style boiled seafood, then you are in for a treat here. read more

I've seen this place around for ever and I've never stopped in until earlier this year. YH Crab is located on Pleasant Hill Road (same shopping center as Sweet Hut). The menu consists of skewers, seafood boils, Hot & cold dishes and so much more. We always get a combination of skewers here. The egg fried rice is also one of their top items. If you are super hungry, try the seafood boil. There is a 3 lbs minimum but it's worth every penny. I've only had the garlic butter flavored seafood boil here and it's amazing. Service is usually alright. Attentive staff. The food comes out fairly quickly if they are not too busy. If you visit during peak hours, expect to wait 30 mins to 1 hour. Pleasantly surprised! I'm usually not a fan of Szechuan food but this place really did impress me! It is located in the same plaza as Sweet Hut. The interior is very modern and clean. It is super spacious with many rooms and lots of privacy. We ordered the cheesy sizzling corn, special beef (#2), and the oyster. They were both so good! The beef is super tender and the oyster is extremely fresh! We got the choose 3 lbs of seafood boil with spicy garlic sauce. Next time I would ask them to make the seafood spicier -1 lb clam -1 lb crawfish -1 lb shrimp Service is kinda slow and they forgot to put in our additional screwers, but they are super busy. I took pictures of all my favorite dishes but I have no idea what my friend ordered for our private dining room. Everything was super delicious, especially the fried shrimp and the clams dish. They are so flavorful! The tofu was really good too and so were the spicy peanuts. Everyone also really like this curers, especially the lamb one, and I agree. Everyone also is waiting for the crispy pork dish, which was also very good but not my favorite. This is definitely a family style place and I would not go here with anyone who doesn't know how to eat family style Szechuan. Szechuan spice is definitely a real thing here, they do not skimp. Service was OK because my friend ordered completely in Chinese and almost everyone in our party was also Chinese. However, we brought a cake from cold stone to share at the end of the meal, and they did not remember to put it in the freezer. And it melted. Also note that on yelp, and on the sign outside the door, this place is known as YH. However all my Chinese friends call it something completely different. This is definitely a legit Chinese place. Been here a few times with my Chinese/Sichuanese parents. It is often pretty crowded here but we're usually still able to be seated immediately. The decor is very modern Chinese .. like very reminiscent of modern restaurants in China .. lots of dark wood, interior-exterior style. The food is always really great. They're known for their whole fish which we got with tomatoes this time (not sure where it is on the menu). The tomatoes gave the fish a really nice sweet and slightly tangy taste that's so unique from the usual ma la spice that we get. Honestly it's my new favorite flavor. The fish is also very tender and slides off the main bones really well. Comes on top of tree ear, lotus roots, and other veggies. The appetizer was a cold salad of sorts - a bunch of mixed veggies with chili and sesame oil. Super refreshing and delicious ... and a bit spicy. The lamb skewers are also pretty well known here. Very tender and not too spicy. I think you can ask for extra seasoning to add on top. We also got this beef with peppers that was also great. The peppers weren't too spicy but the beef was once again very tender and flavorful. You could taste the peppers infused with it. Overall - amazing place for authentic Sichuanese food. Like any other place, place your fish order first because it takes the longest time to cook. Never had anything bad here and all the tastes are very authentic. The spices levels can vary greatly so use caution (we usually go for less spicy just to save our stomachs the next day HAHA). A family favorite! read more

I found this spot via Yelp and with all the great reviews I had to go try it for myself. I honestly thought it was okayyy... didn't think it was a 4.5 star place for me. We were greeted prompting after entering the doors and taken to our table. We ordered a total of 3 different skewers: 2 ordered of the special beef, 2 orders of the new orleans chicken, 1 grilled oysters in garlic sauce, 1 lamb, 1 egg fried rice, 1 spicy clams, 1 foiled enoki mushroom. I thought there were too much of cumin and garlic in all the food. The oyster and foiled enoki mushroom were cooked the same - covered in garlic sauce. The spicy clams had an overbearing taste of cumin that took away from the overall dish. I will commend the staff, they were all patient and gave great recommendations. This was our first experience with what we think was Szechuan-style Chinese BBQ. We ordered several skewers and a few dishes so that we could try a little of lots of different items. Love this place! Everything was delicious. However, I do feel bad for how busy they were. The food came out very slowly and the waiters and waitresses were hustling back and forth. The host kept apologizing, and we understood. They even said they are so busy that they cannot handle to-go orders yet. Hope they can increase their staff and stabilize service. After waiting 30 mins I send my daughter in to see how much longer... they told her 15 more mins. Considering it was almost closing I opted to call in and ask for the wait. The girl mentioned 5 mins. Found this place on a whim! Was in the area and randomly stopped in for dinner. Tried several skewers and some seafood. There's so many eccentric meats on the menu. Found this place randomly one night because everything else was closed and our meal easily became the top highlight of my week trip to Atlanta. Everything we tried was cooked to perfection, and tasted like the most authentic Chinese cuisine i've ever had in the states. Some of the dishes were even arguably better than the way they are served in China. On our road trip from VA to TX, hubby asked his sister for food recs in the Atlanta area. She immediately told us about this place. She said it was a Chinese restaurant and we had to order the seafood boil. Huh? Who orders seafood boil at a Chinese restaurant? And she said the skewers were good. Skewers? So while I was driving, hubby read the reviews and he said we should give it a try. I wasn't excited but we went. As soon as we walked in, they said they only had small tables available for the four of us. Oookaaay. Every table had different meat on skewers sitting on a box covered with foil. The menu had ox aorta, chicken gizzard, chicken heart, lamb kidney, etc. These are things I don't eat but I was glad they had items on the menu I could eat. Whew! So we proceeded to order. Our waitress was very kind and so accommodating to our questions and requests. They provide a pair of gloves that come individually packed which I personally tried but took off because it was so slippery. It distracted me from my food. The first item that came out were the scallops. Each order comes with one scallop shell so we initially ordered two. One scallop is not enough for two people to share so we ordered another two. It was covered in sotanghon noodles sauteed with lots of garlic and some sliced peppers. The flavor was so good but the little scallop was overcooked. The eggplant was grilled perfectly and the special beef skewers were very delicious. Then came out this massive pot filled with snow crab and shrimp drenched in garlic butter. It looked amazing and it tasted even more amazing! Since our seniors can't handle spice we asked for chili oil on the side to dip our seafood. They had the best chili oil I had ever tasted. It smelled good and tasted even better. We asked for more to pack and our waitress granted our wish. Next time, we are coming without seniors so we could order the spicy seafood boil. I can't wait! I'm already imagining how good it would be. LOL! The table next to us ordered the corn which looked so good so we ordered the corn too and let me tell you guys, the corn was delicious.
