Neat fast casual Greek place in the middle of Cupertino with heaping servings of fresh goodness. Like seriously, a 'plate' of food is ginormous. Excellent bang for your buck; just make sure to look for the white sauce/tzatziki so you don't end up with a somewhat drier meal like I did. Place seems quiet on the weekends, but with plenty of takeout. Definitely a nice spot for a workday lunch; Yiassoo has ample amounts of outdoor seating and a good sized parking lot. In retrospect, I think there was a bit of confusion about sauces with the cashier as my brother was told a white sauce bottle was "salad dressing", so we ended up with a less than optimal meal with just hot sauce and ketchup. That said the quality and quantity of food was still rather inspiring, but a slight learning curve with this place to get the best meal out of it. The menu is straightforward but some pointers. Plates seem to be adding more food upon the base thing (so for a gyro this adds a carb side and a salad). The "Super" adds more meat and feta. For most folks just the sandwich would be enough for a meal quantity wise, so be ready for leftovers! Super Gyro Plate - 4.5/5 It's massive, stuffed to the brim, and absolutely gorgeous. A smidge short on moistness due to insufficient sauce just by the sheer quantity of perfectly crispy gyro meat, but our misunderstandings don't take away from the execution of the base food (which is great). The plate part comes with choice of fries or rice, plus a salad. Fries were excellent, with a lovely caramelized aroma and skin on. Salad was crisp and refreshing with a fairly minimalist dressing of feta and olive oil. Lamb Burger Plate- 4/5 This is technically more of a taco, but semantics aside, pretty cleanly executed with a moderate amount of seasoning in the burger itself cooked to well done (without being too dry patty-wise). Ends up a little dry with the pita and patty overall though. Definitely needs a sauce and there isn't any on the burger by default, so definitely ask for sauce on the side. Clean execution-wise though and not too far down the gaminess path either. read more

This is my second time at Yiassoo and they have been so consistent on the food quality and taste. It's absolutely amazing and I only have high reviews for this place. It's family owned and the brothers are always in to help and serve customers. I got the gyro sandwich and loukoumades. I recommend both if it's your first time. The sandwich comes in a pita wrap and is loaded with gyro, tomatoes, onion and their white sauce. You can grab a bottle on the counter along with some hot sauces to eat with your food. I really like the garlicky sauce they have. It's super flavorful. The loukoumades is a 100% must try. They're so crispy but also pillowy and not overly sweet. It's definitely a treat. There are plenty of seats and tables. They also have a self serve fountain machine which you can get water from. Super casual and quick Greek restaurant. I came here to dine in during lunch hours and they were fairly quick despite the large parties of nearby employees dining in during their lunch break. I ordered the chicken souvlaki plate with rice and had a side order of Greek fries. The chicken was a little dry but still delicious regardless with their white sauce bottle (kept at the counter). Finally got a chance to try this place. It has 4.5 stars here so I expected it to be really good, and the food does meet my expectation! Haha!! Good food & good portions! For $15.25, my falafel plate lasted me 2 meals. I had a falafel sandwich (which was huge!), fries, and Greek salad on the side. I took it to go and they had the salad in a separate container with dressing in a tinier container. I took the order to go, so the few minutes of customer service we had was fine and the cashier was friendly. Their pita was sooo good and fluffy. First off, cheese pita is clearly an American customized kids menu, nevertheless my kid was very satisfied with the combination while the adults rolled our eyes. As for our food, husband thinks Nick is better as their meat is more tender and softer. I found the mousaka weird as it's not as juicy and saucy as I had in other places. The pita bread was tough and tasted stale. The tzatziki sauce with it was also bland and had been sitting in the pre-made portion container for a long time. It was gloppy and pasty and was really disgusting and bland. I tasted no greek flavors in the dish. Lemon, garlic, oregano and thyme were all missing. The side salad was also mushy and mostly mushy tomatoes. Been a while since I dumped my meal directly into the trash when I got home (5 mins away) but thats what happened. I will say this is probably the best gyros sandwich that I have had anywhere, and I have tried many. The meat is probably the star, which is always cooked just right, but the veggies and sauce are great, and the bread seems about perfect (soft and warm). Greek Salad: 4/5. This too used to be 5/5, but sometime in the last 10 years they changed the salad dressing for the worse--which is really too bad.
