The toppings are plentiful, and you get to control how much you want. There are the Pinkberry fans. Then there are the Yogurtland fans. To be honest, I am a fan of Pinkberry's yogurt texture. But when I want to go crazy on the toppings I go to Yogurtland for my fix. For the same price I would pay at Pinkberry's I would be able to top my cup off with all the toppings I have been craving. I stick with tart flavored yogurt whenever I go. What can I say? Yogurtland is yogurtland. Its a chain and by now you've probably been to one to get your usual fix of frozen yogurt. I feel like this place is a fairly condensed edition of the store. It's pretty small and can't fit TOO many people in it. Not only that, there aren't places to sit inside the store. But understandably, this yogurtland is generally one of those grab-and-go places. And even then, there's a lot of seats outside. There's a fair amount of flavors to pick from. There's generally always a few tart flavors and they also like to make a lot of new flavors too! When I came here today, I got plain tart, mango tart, coffee/caramel/chocolate, and green tea froyo! Also, they always have a good amount of toppings whenever I come. And they get extra love from me for having popping boba! :D so yummy! I also really like how this place likes to have a lot of different events. Definitely not my favorite Yogurtland to go to in Irvine :[. - Less flavors than other Yogurtlands - The popular flavors have to come out slowly since they don't make enough :[ - Sometimes the flavor isn't as smooth or tarty as other ones either. Just your regular Yogurt land, except they have no inside seating and rarely change their flavors. They seem to stick with flavors they find UCI students like and don't deviate from those flavors. I'm visiting from the Bay Area and am an instant Yogurtland fan. Tried out both tart and sweetened yogurt flavors w/various fruit toppings (a few choc chips were tossed in for good luck); quite the satisfying afternoon snack. I hadn't used a soft serve dispenser since I worked at a Dairy Queen back in high school, so it was fun trying to recreate that little curly-q tip. The yogurts were flavorful, had a creamy texture, and did not have an artificial taste. Today I stuck to the basics ... wasn't adventurous enough to sample the more exotic flavors (coconut or taro) or the mochi topping ... will save those for another trip. The staff kept the condiment area clean and well stocked. The fruit toppings I sampled were ripe and fresh. I like Yogurtland a lot, especially this location because in my earlier college days, we could just walk here. In terms of price, Yogurtland is only 29 cents, I believe? Maybe 39 cents. Regardless, I'm not a "tart" fan, so I don't get any of the Taro, or Yuzu, or whatever that crap is. I get Peanutbutter or Cakebatter or whatever dessert-ish one they have and cover it in cookie dough, brownies, and/or smashed up Reeses. Sometimes it can get pretty cramped, since it is one of the more popular locations in the plaza. It also has less machines available than other locations (or at least that's what I feel), so there's less of a variety to choose from. Overall, this place is great since its a short walk away from UCI, but it does feel like it is lacking in appeal compared to other Yogurtlands. This particular Yogurtland is inside the University Town Center. There are five frozen yogurt dispensers here for a total of 10 different flavors, not including mixed. They have a coupon for buy one get one free on the Irvine Company website, as opposed to the buy one get one 50% off, compared to other branches (like the one at the Marketplace) and other local froyo places. However, the drawback of this location is that there aren't as many flavors as other branches. There are 8 dispensers at the Marketplace branch for a total of 16 flavors. During this visit, they were nice and conducted our transaction appropriately. But she felt the 10 flavors were not enough variety. I concur with that opinion. read more

Cool haven during a hot day. Visited here a few months ago during the California heat waves and got myself a cup of froyo. The guy working there told me if I check in on Yelp I can get 3oz free! I came in this afternoon and found the fruit un-fresh and soggy so I decided to go w/ some sweet tooth toppings just to get my quick yogurt fix. The cookie dough was all mushed together and the cheesecake was sour when I bit into it. I love Yogurtland but this was the worst experience to date. :/ I called to let the employers know that their refrigerator may not be working properly and the cheesecake and cookie dough can make someone sick. What has two thumbs and looooves frozen yogurt? This girl! After freezing our butts off and geeking out at the UCI Observatory, Danielle N. and I thought we could warm up with some froyo. With a little yelp from our friends, we found one less than a mile away... Found may actually be a strong word, since we had to stop and ask some bored police officers where in the University Town Center it was located. Note to future me: it is located next to the Brewery. Although there were many froyo places for the pickin', we tend to stay near and dear to Yogurtland since they are consistent, cheap, and delicious. This guy pretty much stuck to the mold with the exception of its size. This is by far the smallest one I've seen yet, but since we had a nice warm car waiting for us, we did not fret. If we had had a place to sit and enjoy our yogurt, it would have been then that I would start to miss their refreshing water filled with a variety of different fruits. Everything else fulfilled the yogurtland standard, including... DUN DUH DUNNNNN, Red Velvet Cupcake Batter. Like nothing else and I've had cake batter frogurt. Don't let the dark salmon color throw you off your guard, appearances in this case are deceiving. It is a great combination of a light tasting cake batter with some red velvet flavors that just work perfect with frozen yogurt. I happen to like Yogurtland, especially at its price point. Sure, some yogurt connoisseurs (including some of my friends) will think I'm a piece of dog poo for even stepping foot inside of one, but dude--It's. So. Cheap. To even hit the $5 mark, I usually have to put my finger on the scale and it's a bigger portion than I feel comfortable eating. So basically if you like (or are okay with) Yogurtland, you'll probably like *this* Yogurtland. If seeing their logo makes you want flip police cars and riot, just don't come here. THEY'RE ALL THE SAME. Okay, I lied. This one is a little different and hence 3 stars. The product is the same, but this one due to the location within UTC is rather small. That means a limited selection of flavors and no indoor seating (although there's an island counter you can eat it, but you awkwardly have to stare at people dispensing their own yogurt six inches in front of you). There's plenty of outdoor seating all over UTC so it's not really a problem unless it's cold or hailing knives. They still take credit cards no matter how little I'm spending which is always a plus, and the staff working there are always chipper. read more

Compared to surrounding Yogurtlands, this Yogurtland consistently has the worst flavors, but this is also confounded with the fact that it probably has the fewest flavors. I usually prefer the Yogurtland in Diamond Jamboree Plaza, the Marketplace, or even on El Toro Road, BUT let's face it, this is the closest one to campus AND it is open pretty late.
