During our visit tonight, after not being greeted, all of the machines were dripping and sticky with full trays below them. If the employees had been trying to do something about it, I wouldn't say anything, but the two employees were standing close together at the register the entire time flirting. Additionally, we came specifically for the pumpkin frozen yogurt advertised online and it wasn't there. The small sign indicating açaí toppings at an additional charge is inadequate. We came here on a Monday. The place is supposed to close at 10pm. Got there at around 9:05pm. Half of the flavors were empty. Three of the employees, 2 girls and a guy, were just chatting by the register. When asked about if there's any more of the flavors, the guy went and put some more on one, but we were told to wait 5 mins for the yogurt to come out. Then one of the girls just flat out said "yeah we're out for the night." We ended up using a lot of cups coz each time we pressed the flavors either no yogurt will come out or some vomit-looking puree stuff will come out. I'd understand if they didn't wanna put more flavors if it's close to closing. But they still had about 55 mins before closing, come on. Don't hire lazy employees. read more

I've been in this Yogurtland many times in the last three years and usually adequately served. Today was the second time I've waited patiently to be served and passed over by the staff, The first incident about 3 months ago the employee knew I was waiting and totally ignored me choosing to serve a customer that was in line behind me. Today when it was my turn to submit my order the server opted to serve the person behind me. This is unacceptable, skintone shouldn't determine the level of service a person receives. This location has been out of main flavors on a consistent basis lately. Ok shortages, I get it. Nothing they can do. But I just used the bathroom and the toilet was messed up and unable to be flushed, the toilet paper roll was empty, there was trash everywhere and the toilet itself was loose from the ground and almost fell over when I flushed it. We love Yogurtland! We have been known to drive past the Cypress location to come here. On most Tuesday nights you will see us here for dessert. The main reason we prefer this location is they have hot fudge syrup and until recently a peanut butter sauce. Let me tell you... the peanut butter syrup was awesome. Dare I say I may have a new favorite location?! Based off the recommendation of a fellow Yelper I stopped off at this location (which is down the street from my favorite dog park) since I was in the area. Winner winner chicken dinner! This is a fairly new location and in the Rossmoor shopping center right next door to Chipotle. I'm noticing a trend for placement of Yogurtland's....near quality "faster food" restaurants chains. There is plenty of parking and this is not an overly crowded store. It's big and there is a ton of patio seating bewteen Yogurtland and Chipotle that they share. I came in and this was the first time I wasn't greeted immediately but that's okay, the girl was cleaning and didn't notice me walk in. She showed me how the Yogurtland App worked though on my way out! Get the App to earn free yogurt! Bonus, this location had sugar free Pecan Praline!!! Score!! I ended up getting the Pecan Praline and Coconut. With the coconut I basically make an almond joy!! It is so decadent and reminds me of the Mexican Fruit Cream bars you get in the ghetto from the ice cream guy pushing the cart yelling out "Paleta's" and ringing his bell. I top the coconut with coconut shavings, almonds, milk chocolate chips and the kicker? Condensed Milk! Yes, that's one of the 45 topping choices here. WTH? Re-donk-ulous!! Pros to this location: -Easily accessed off a main street and freeway -In a great shopping & restaurant area -Fabulous parking lot that is well lit and clean -The most outside seating I've seen yet. In SoCal, that's a must when the weather is gorgeous! -So much space that you several people can move around the dispensers, no problem. -Friendly/helpful staff, super clean -Not crowded & peaceful area -Easy to pull down dispensers. -Plenty of bananas (my personal gauge of how well stocked they maintain the toppings) Cons: -Hand sanitizer dispenser was empty...booo (I just came from the dog park) -No fruit in the water container (usually strawberries or cucumbers most places) -No sugar free dark chocolate nibs (or maybe I it was in a different spot that I didn't see? Sometimes they put toppings in "plastic shakers" off to the side) since I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate any day of the week. This Yogurtland is situated next to Chipotle in a large shopping center that has plenty of parking and a shared outdoor seating area that is often filled with locals and families. If I based the amount of stars on the yogurt & basic store itself I'd go with 4 BUT I'm giving 2 as a reflection of what I see EVERY time I visit. 1. Kids & Adults who reuse their sample cups over & over, licking the life out of it only to refill it. That's not sanitary! The dispenser nozzle often touches the rim of the little cup & that is gross! Do we really need to sample? The flavor description they provide is very clear. Unless this abuse is monitored, no more samples! Which brings me to.... 2. Creating samples the size of a cone at Baskin-Robbins! I know the bowls can get expensive but do we really need to rip-off the company, causing prices to rise? What's worse? Tonight I saw 3 teenage girls sample at least 3 times, giant swirls of yogurt only to leave without buying a thing. 3. Licking the bowl as you wait in line. The price is based on weight so by the time you reach the register you've reduced the total price by at least a buck. I don't want to see these things but all you have to do is look up & watch for a few minutes. The busier it gets the worse it gets. The employees are busy but I rarely see them overseeing the line & what goes on there. I wish they would. They'd save the company money & make things a lot healthier. This goes for all Yogurtland's not just in Seal Beach. Self-service can be fun but left to their own devices people can abuse the heck out of the experience. read more

This Yogurtland is very clean and well run. The customer service is really good - the cashiers and workers are always polite and cheerful. For the most part, the stations are all spotless - you can't blame the employees if there are a bunch of kids or lazy parents who are sloppy or can't figure out the simple act of how to stop the yogurt from coming out. The toppings are always full, the fruit is always fresh and delicious. They don't skimp on the toppings, and all the sauces they provide are great (caramel, chocolate, etc). They have this cool cookie trick - you can put a cookie in your bowl to separate the flavors in your bowl. Both the chocolate and shortbread cookies are really good! There isn't much in the way of seating inside - but the outside shared patio is full of tables right next to a waterfall feature so it is nice to sit outside with the kids and eat your yogurt. read more

A very positive experience from the moment I walked in with a cheerful greeting by Manager Chris and an employee he was training. I choose the Seal Beach location solely based on the exceptional customer service I receive from all of their employees. Today I felt the need to post about Chris because he went above and beyond the typical great service. Without even asking, he let me know he would email corporate about a rewards card issue just to make sure I received the points he said I deserved. I appreciate his attentiveness and desire to reward me as a loyal customer. However, I've witnessed Chris and his coworkers treat all their customers with this same respect. It feels good to support such a friendly, hardworking establishment that does a fine job in hiring and training young men and women .......not to mention the delicious yogurt!!! read more

This place is great. I don't go too often, so I am surprised with a new flavor(s)when I do go. My favorite flavors are the Madagascar Vanilla and New York Cheesecake. My wife like the plain tart and other fruity flavors that are offered (except the mango). My wife loves the cheesecake bites, mochi, and popping boba as toppings. I love the blueberries, blackberries, mochi, and popping boba as well. Just for a good measure, I'll get two good pumps of the Ghirardelli chocolate syrup. Good prices. It can also get crowded inside, but the lines go fast and the workers are efficient. I love a good late night snack; especially in the Summer. We visited around 9 pm...the store is open to 10pm...They were out of EVERY flavor except 3...Nearly every topping was completely empty...The staff of four was doing absolutely nothing to get more yogurt made or to refill the toppings...the store was an absolute mess with yogurt on the floor, the tables were dirty and still the staff of four just stood behind the counter not interacting with any guests or doing anything at all to try to make the experience better for the customer...Had to leave with my child crying because they did not have any yogurt or toppings she wanted to eat....Do better Yogurtland! read more

It's hard for me to give such a poor review but I was in the store yesterday with three others and the girls at the register were not helpful they only spoke to each other they left the register and went and got yogurt for themselves and came back and continue to talk to each other. The register was left unattended while the selected their flavors. One middle school boy asked for a sample cup. He seemed like a really nice boy but the girls at the register didn't even realize he was using the same cup eating out of that miniature cup and then getting more and more. There was yogurt all over the machines and tables and floor were dirty. There are so many exceptional young people in the Rossmoor area that would be much more dedicated to their jobs whether they're still in high school or attending college. I come in here alllll the time. The staff is friendly, nice, and helpful (it doesn't matter who is here, I have never met anyone rude or inconsiderate working here). Otherwise, it's just like every other YL. There are five tables inside (for 2 people each) and then a couple of bigger tables outside. You can also eat at the Cafe Rio tables next door and they don't seem to mind. It's clean and I never see anything dirty or out of place. Lots of parking in the front or side lot. They lock the bathrooms so you now have to ask for the key to get in to it. Every time I come in I ask for the whipped cream and every time I ask they tell me the machine is broken or they ran out of stuff to make it... Until one guy tried to talk very low to his co-worker while I was at the register and said he just didn't feel like making it. Dude, 2 ingredients, a little elbow grease to get it mixed up, and 3 minutes of your time. Stop being lazy and put product out that your customers are asking for. Of course I'm a fan! I'd give it 5, but 5 means perfection and that doesn't come around in a persistent basis. As some have mentioned some people who work there have issues handing out lids, spoons, bags... They almost make you feel guilty asking for those things. I too, noticed that someone's either sweeping or working on the machines when I go there, but it doesn't bother me as much as the stinky spoons--no joke. I used to go there 5 times a week and noticed at least once a week, the spoons had a funky smell. I can't pinpoint what it is but it smelled similar to skunk, cigarette smoke, pot/weed? Weird smell. I haven't been as much lately, but if I get another smelly spoon I'm contacting management. ***update (07/2011)*** I have cut down on Yougurtland by a lot, and happy to report I haven't had a smelly spoon.
