This place serves very good Sushi. They have the one on one free deal on sushi which is awesome. The food taste really good , nothing out of the place. They provide different sauces you can enjoy with Sushi. We ordered tuna, Salmon and one sushi with avocado. The avocado was overwhelming in that Sushi , apart from that others were nice tasting. The fish tastes fresh, rolled in nice fluffed rice. I also ordered , chicken three glass rice dish which had tasty chicken and very thick Japanese gravy, I really liked this dish. My only complaint was their one on one free sushi only applies to lower prices Sushi. So if you are ordering sushi , be sure to have SEPARATE check only for that sushi else the counter person/manager was very adamant and was not willing to change our check to give you that extra discount. She was like we cant change your bill and system does this and all...was very disappointed after having to go through this after having such a nice meal experience. The california rolls were the only thing I could eat: they were bad, but it's pretty hard to mess those up. The veggies, shrimp, and wonton soup were totally inedible. They went straight into the garbage and I actually had to go somewhere else to buy a new dinner. I have no idea how this place has 4.3 stars with hundreds of Google reviews. I thought I had found the ultimate in sushi with Shiki Sushi in Durham! And we had been willing to drive there over settling for the pretty good (albeit Great Service!) Sushi Thai in Cary. And just forget about Shaba Shabu, whose rolls regularly fall apart, and may even make one sick. Well, ladies and gentlemen, YoHo now suffices as "our spot" for a great all-around sushi experience in Cary/Raleigh. The Sushi Dinner for 2 is a beautiful presentation of delectable fish, which we have chosen on several occasions and could not be happier with. We even took pictures! Until yelp realizes that a fast food joint cannot possibly be ranked equally with a $100 per person place, I need to draw the line somewhere. If we were only talking about the quality and presentation of the food, it would be a different story. But, as we know, yelp's rankings take into account the entire dining experience. Therefore, I divide restaurants into three categories (and I wish yelp would do the same): 1) fast food and "fast-casual" (no table service ) 2) casual and "polished casual" dining (table service) 3) fine dining (linen napkins, no plastic cups, no TV's in dining room, typically more expensive than casual dining) Fine dining can earn a max of five stars. We went here on a Sunday and did the BOGO Sushi Rolls. The selection of rolls is large -probably around 30-35 to choose from - including some specialty rolls! We went early so not a lot of people. The service was good and the atmosphere is great- we love the decor! My only complaint would be the actual sushi rolls. They were double wrapped in rice with not a lot of ingredients in the middle, so the taste was pretty bland. But, a lot of food for the money! It was around $30 for 2 waters, 4 rolls, and crab wontons (which were very good, loved the sauce!). Will definitely go back, but may choose to do the build your own and skip the BOGO to get less rice and more fillings. read more

I would definitely call this my favorite sushi restaurant in town. First of all, BOGO free sushi...WINNING. I wish it was offered for takeout, too because sometimes, I just want to take my food home and enjoy on my couch, but hey rules are rules and I think they do a buy 2 get 1 for takeout anyway. The sushi is fresh and the rolls are not skimpy. I've also had the veggie lo mein, which I think is also delicious and loaded with vegetables. I've had the Gyoza twice and the second time, they did not pan fry both sides, so I got one side steamed and one side fried, but I didn't say anything, so that was my fault for not giving them a chance to fix the problem. My wife and I eat there on a weekly basis - we wouldn't keep going back if the food and service were not excellent! I don't eat sushi, but YoHo is one of my wife's favorite sushi places. I usually get one of the hibachi dishes which are always fantastic. The veggies are always fresh and crisp - not over-cooked. Prices are great, too. Service is always very friendly. This is the $5 Foot Long of the Asian world. Compare it to Golden Corral, or grocery store sushi. Would you ever buy a meal from a gas station? If yes, then you might actually like this... I'm from CA and the dead give away should have been their fish specials.... Do you really want to buy raw fish someone who is trying to get rid of at half price? Sushi came and the actual fish was smelly and chewy and there wasn't a lot of it. More rice than anything else. If you don't care about quality and just want price- this is your place. Careful though, if you order one large plate- they will b1g1 on your cheapest roll, it's better to do separate orders and push plates in the middle to share. The food is great! Everyone in my party of 4 was happy with their dishes so I cant complain about the food but the service was horrible.. We made a reservation as recommended on the website. The place was nearly empty at 1pm on a Sunday so we should have gotten the top of the line service but we didnt. When I asked about a dish called Chicken and Okra I was told it was Chicken and Okra.. well that certainly cleared it up for me.. One member of our party requested chopsticks and our waiter did acknowledge the request but then went to rearrange some chairs in a back room. Then he went to talk to a coworker that was eating at the bar. He then strolled around the restaurant until finally coming back to our table to refill our empty drinks. When a second request for chopsticks was made he said " OH I was busy with another table." It would have been better to simply tell the truth. There were no other tables in the place. Would I go there again.. yes I would probably give it another try and if the service is bad again I would strictly do take out from then on. read more

I've been here a few times, and I'd give this place 3 stars. For sushi, quality isn't the best. There are other restaurants with much better qualities. However, for the price (BOGO for dine) the sushi is acceptable. For non sushi dishes, my favorite is yoho shrimp and the pineapple fried rice. The Yoho shrimp's sauce is so good and it also has vegetables on side. I love how they cook the rice without soy sauce, the taste is perfect. For service, most of the servers are nice. Hostesses are always smiley and greet you once you enter and leave the restaurant. I did not have any horrible experience but management could use some better training on them. I've seen employees here talking on their phone while serving tables which I thought very odd. Also, I could smell some server's smoking odor and it was extremely unappetizing when it happened. I sometimes come.here for lunch to GRT the BOGO offer on their sushi. I think it's a good deal I try to order 2 rolls that are equally priced and have always been happy with my order. The have a good selection of rolls. The wasabi is pretty spicy, and I like that. I haven't tried any of the items on the regular menu like the bento boxes so I can't speak to those items. Went to YoHo today with my sister for lunch, and we were seated immediately. They have a long list of different sushis to try, and they all sounded nice. I ordered a miso soup, ginger salad, a california roll, and a new fashion roll. Both the soup and the salad were good, nothing especially good or bad about it. The soup had come pretty soon after we ordered, followed by the salad, and then the sushi. The new fashion roll was composed of crab, cucumber, asparagus, and fried sweet potato. The sushi was good overall, although the rice tasted like it had been left out for a little before it was served. The ginger that was served with the dish wasn't dyed pink, which i appreciated. I'm not much of a wasabi fan, but my sister said the wasabi tasted weak. Overall it was a nice experience and I would definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

Very clean and a great atmosphere. I came in at 10:30 30 and they close at 11 so I can kind of see where there were problems. The "bang bang "shrimp was simply shrimp that had been fried - no breading, no heat or sauce, no bang. Also had the spring rolls that were basically just cabbage wrapped up and fried. And the crab Rangoon Was fried very well but really only had cream cheese inside I don't remember any crab. For $16 I guess that's OK but it certainly was not what I was expecting. read more

I'm starting to distrust friend's recommendations for places to eat. Its sad really, because it means one of two things . . 1) I am a super picky food elitist (ok ok food snob) or 2) my friends just have really bad tastes. YoHo had been on my list of places to try but not high up, and finally last night, not having a specific genre or place in mind, YoHo came up as an option. A quick consult with someone who had been there described it as "good, but a little pricey for what you get, yet not pricey enough to stop me from going back." This sounds hopeful. Driving to the place amid the Tryon Road construction at night with some rain was fun (particularly since I don't normally drive this direction). Once I arrived, I really liked the feel of the place, a relaxing yet classy feel, comfortable. The service was very polite and on top of everything. The menu is a mix of Japanese, Thai, Chinese etc. Personally, I prefer the pick one and do it well rather than attempt all an do them sub-par. I started with the edamame, ok, this is normal. Then I get my main dish - ordered from the "Signature Dish" list figuring these would be slightly better? Anyway, back to the food - I had the shrimp and scallops pan fried noodles. The shrimp was "meh, I've experienced better", the scallops where "eh, I'd rather not", the veggies were fine, but the "juicy brown sauce" was too much for me. Very very thick, super super sweet, and nearly 3x the amount needed for the dish. It felt so heavy in a dish that was (in my mind) suppose to be lighter. My pal had the Amber Scallops, which tasted much better than my own scallops but not worth coming back to. I "might" go back and try the sushi but its very unlikely. For the same price (if not cheaper), you're better off going to Sushi Thai for sushi, Thai Cuisine House or Sawasdee for Thai, and well, I don't have a good Chinese suggestion yet read more

We've been patronizing YoHo since they opened and this is my first review after eating there no less than a dozen times. Currently, they are running a buy-one get one free on certain sushi rolls and I've stopped in there several times and eaten at the bar during lunch and had a cold beer. The YellowTail Lover Roll is a good staple. The sushi has been nicely prepared and I've had several of their more creative rolls mentioned by other reviewers. Never any issues with flavor or freshness that I can detect. However, I will say they started out with much more interesting and varied menu including such dishes such as an Okra with Chicken which I loved... and then it disappeared. I guess the bulk of the clients don't like Okra and I'm hard pressed to find it on any menu but the few authentic places dotting Raleigh or if I travel to San Fran or LA. After my favorite dish disappeared and they told me they would not make it anymore b/c they stopped buying Okra, things went downhill on finding something on the menu outstanding. My better half refuses to eat there now b/c the food has fallen off from where they started. By removing signature dishes or making their signature dishes the same as everyone's else, the have now become just another Pan-Asian place that serves well prepared, middle-of-the-road food. If you love Sushi and can get by for the BOGO specials, then that's not a bad deal. If you are looking for a more adventurous restro with varied menu you will not find elsewhere, keep looking. read more

I went here after TRYING to go to Kashin (Japanese restaurant) TWICE. Two days in a row. Went on Monday afternoon for lunch - but they close at 2pm (my online search engine told me otherwise). I went again the next day, forgetting they're closed on Tuesdays. Finally gave up today and tried this place - happy I did! 3.5 stars. For how big their menu (definitely lives up to its Pan-Asian name), the dishes I tried were pretty good.
