More of a 4.5 than a 4 but sadly no half stars on Yelp. Last month was our first time eating there instead of just having sandwiches to go. We enjoyed the curry with shrimp katsu and the tonkatsu that came with the bento box was very juicy/not dry at all. Gyoza were just okay, but oh well. I do want to try the sandwiches fresh next time. Decent amount of food and super quick counter service, can't complain!

I was a little skeptical about this place because I've had japanese sandos in the past and I feel like they are more aesthetically pleasing than tasty, but I was pleasantly surprised with Yokuzuna. The katsu sandwiches are made to order so it will be fresh and crispy, I like the pork, chicken and shrimp katsu sandwiches. The pork was so juicy it was almost too juicy, prone to being soggy. I like the balance in the shrimp and chicken more. The strawberry sandwich was okay to me, not particularly my taste but overall will come back.

What a wonderful little restaurant! We've been looking online for Japanese flavours as we're pining for them and this didn't disappoint. The Tonkatsu Bento special was delicious. Beautifully presented in a round bowl on a bed of rice with a delicate and flavorful side salad. The sauce was on point and the breading crispy on juicy tender pork. The miso soup was also very good. I'm feeling a bit under the weather and was delighted to find a Japanese fizzy vitamin C drink (similar to the ones in 7/11 Japan) in the cooler. I'm waiting for my Strawberry sandwich, I'm very excited about that.

If you haven't been, you're missing out! It's been a while since I've been back but I went when they first opened and ordered their salmon bento which was delicious! They were out of it today so I tried something different and got their chicken katsu bento ($16) + miso ($2). Equally delicious and the crisp on it was immaculate! Imo it was the perfect amount of sauce ratio, not too much to make it soggy but enough to add good flavor and not have the dish be so dry. The gyoza was super tasty as well. I was so impressed that it had some ice skirt/dumpling lace on it since most places around this price point don't cook theirs this way. Someone here knows how to cook and it shows! I can't understand why it's not busy in here because their food is very good and the owner is super nice! The place itself is very cool, gives off chill izakaya vibes. If you're in the Plano area, please check them out!

Reasonable prices and a tasty bento. Bentos came with miso soup, gyoza, salad, potato salad, and a small group of vegetables as well as a main. I got the tonkatsu and it was great, comparable to the ones I had in Japan. I will certainly try the sandos next time. The miso soup was high quality. Edit: Returned and tried the Sandos with the Sandos sampler. They were all very delicious and honestly even better than the bento. I forgot to take a picture before devouring them all.

Stumbled onto this tiny Japanese sando spot in Plano that feels like the kind of place you randomly find in Tokyo down a side street. Soft milk bread, perfectly crispy katsu, homemade vibes, and owners that actually care about what they're serving. No hype -- just really good food made by people who love what they do.

my husband and i had this place on our must-try list for so long, and we finally headed there on a sunday afternoon. such a cute spot located inside a strip mall! it was super cozy in there, with a small area to buy trinkets & other items. the worker was friendly, helpful, and the music was chill. our food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious! we shared the chicken katsu bento, a fruit sando, and some edamame. we left full and satisfied! will definitely be back to try the sando sampler and the katsu curry next time!

What a great spot! We were in the mood for Japanese somewhere around UTD and stopped in to Yokozuna. The restaurant itself is clean and inviting and we were greeted right away. We were advised that they had just gotten a bunch of orders so our service was going to be delayed. Since we had time, we went ahead and ordered. The food was excellent! We had the chicken Katsu Bento and the Chicken Katsu Curry and both were served hot and fresh. The breading was delightfully crisp and light with great flavors. Kudos to the young lady taking orders and serving the food. We saw some other guests not as patient as we were and she did everything in her power to assist them and maintained a smile and positive attitude. We will definitely be back to try some Sandos!

Straying away from my semi-usual Sunday lunch. I stepped in next door (same shopping center) Ive always been wanting to try this place but my Vietnamese lunch place always win. I don't know their rice plate is my weakness but today I'm here to try their pork bento special, Tonkatsu Bento . Walking in, you are immediately greeted with a cheery voice behind the counter along with the happy music in the background. Small place but the space is laid of perfectly to accommodate more people. Tonkatsu Bento for $14 is more than enough for 1 person. I couldn't even finish this serving but I'm excited for my left over. Definitely coming back to try their sandos for next time.

This is my second time coming here but 1st time trying the Curry and i have to say it reminds me of being back in Korea when i was stationed there. There staff is very kind and the food is amazing and i mean the whole menu.

I went on a Thursday after work and the relaxing beats to the awesome service definitely brought the day to a great end! I got the Sando sampler which is a mix of egg salad, pork, and chicken katsu. The ones made to order were fresh fried! If you are in a hurry, I do rec the Togo section if you gotta get back to work. There's snacks and the Mitsuya Cider in a fun industrial type can is def the move with the crispy fried katsu! Def worth checking out!

We had a great experience at Yokozuna. It has a surprisingly spacious interior with quite a few tables. We got the fruit sandos, katsu bento, and the egg sandos. Everything was delicious and made to order. The bento had a lot of fresh Japanese pickles, veggies, and salad. It was an amazing balance of freshness and flavors. The salad dressing tasted like it was just made and had great flavor. The sandos were all really delicious as well. The girl at the front was nice enough to allow us to substitute the strawberry for an extra grape which was great. Usually we get sandos from Mitsuwa and they've been sitting around and get a little soggy. This was definitely not the case here. A freshly made sando is a gamechanger. The cream inside the fruit one was also very smooth and not overly sweet. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Sando Sampler - comes with spicy chicken, tamago salad and tonkatsu! All the sandwiches were fresh and the bread was so soft and fluffy! Spicy Chicken - it has like pink pickled radish which gives extra flavor. The spice comes from gochujang which gives it a bit of a kick but it's not too noticeable. The sauce is well distributed and in a good amount! Tamago Salad - egg is well mixed with the rest of the ingredients to give a very creamy texture and taste! It is well seasoned and delicious! Tonkatsu - it's super crunchy and the cabbage is fresh too! Overall a delicious flavor and the crunch of the chicken + cabbage mixed well with the soft bread! Also seasoned well and probably my favorite of the three! VIBES There is wooden seating and some people also just order to-go! There's also a little claw machine and small trinkets you can purchase. Very clean and casual place to grab some sandwiches or bento! SERVICE Service is great! Very friendly overall! No complaints here!

However, the past two times we shared this place with another couple who loves sushi just as much as my husband and I do. One reason we kept coming back, aside from all the delicious food, was how they labeled their menu with the top food allergens. As a food allergy mom, I appreciated this so much! Especially when I was still breastfeeding, I had to eliminate all of my daughter's allergies to breastfeed safely. The main ones I had to look out for was gluten, dairy, egg, nuts, and sesame seeds. The safe was aware of my limitations and shared empathy, not annoyance like other places. T Thankfully I'm out of that stage so I can eat anything on the menu now. We would like to take our daughter here some day, she loves sushi a lot! But being only 5 years old, we'll need to save it for a special occasion. We get carried away when we come here. The food here is top notch and worth every penny, so we'll have to save up. Cooked dishes we always order: Brussel sprouts, steamed mushrooms, hamachi collar and miso cod. All the nigiri/sushi is fresh and you can't ignore the specials or seasonal menu!

Having lived in Hawaii, we ate sushi, sashimi, and poke on a regular basis. Finding spots like this allows us to create new memories while also feeling a bit nostalgic for the flavors we love. We might have gone a little overboard, but everything was incredible! We ordered the Crunchy Eel Roll, Hamachi Nigiri, and Tuna Nigiri, along with two of the EBESU Course menus. My husband had the Chirashi Don and I went with the Toro Tekka Don. Love, love, love. As you can see, it was a lot of food, but every single piece was cooked and cut to perfection. The dishes are very easy to share, and I think next time we'll lean into that more so we can sample even more of the menu. If you are looking for authentic, high-quality Japanese food, this is the place to go!

I got gyoza and Katsu Don, and my partner got a Charashi Bowl and Red Clam sushi. The gyoza I'd say was above average and pleasantly crispy. The provided salad was pleasant with a strong citrusy ginger flavor. The Red Clam sushi had wasabi hidden underneath the meat, so keep that in mind if you're a spice baby like myself. My partner described the Charashi bowl as good, especially for the price. My Katsu Don is where I felt everything fell a little flat. It was overly sweet, the rice underneath tasted a bit stale and like nothing, and the katsu itself was a bit too moist and no longer crispy on the outside. However, I must note that it was an impressive $13, when I feel the usual is more like over $20, for a decent amount. The waitstaff brought us these lovely pre-peeled and cut oranges with the check and they were a nice touch to the meal. Overall we had a decent, pleasant experience here!
