My personal opinion is that many of the high ratings for Yoon are due to proximity. Yoon is the only decent sushi restaurant in a 10 mile radius. There are dozens of better Sushi restaurants in Atlanta, however. If you are willing to drive 15 minutes there are numerous Sushi restaurants that are better locally (Izumi, Kani, Volcano). Yoon is a highlight locally but not so much in the larger scope of Sushi in Atlanta. read more

I just left this restaurant. The food was good but the customer service is what made me give them two stars. My boyfriend's food came out first, he ordered a salad and chicken teriyaki, and my food came out very late, one sushi roll. The waitress didn't even notice until I mentioned it. She didn't come check up on us or refill our drinks. Once my food was finally ready she brought it to the table and didn't say one word, placed it down and walked away. She didn't even apologize. Best sushi in Canton (maybe all of ATL). I'm not a world traveler but I have been to Japan and I must say that eating here is like being there. They've got sushi rolls like most other Japanese restaurants do but what sets them apart is their sashimi. Teka don, Hamachi don, Nigiri, their bento boxes, etc are delicious. This is my "go to" sushi place in North Atlanta. The fish is always amazing and there is a lot of variety on the menu. On special occasions we get the combos which have a nice sampling of their menu. My husband doesn't like sushi, but really enjoys the other items on the menu. We usually do take out, but when we have friends in town we dine there. I looked this place up on the Internet and found the website with phone number. I called in at Togo lunch order. When I arrived to pick it up I was shocked to see the cost. The prices on the website were not what I was charged. Not only would they not honor the prices listed in the website but they gave some sketchy story about how the website is old and not able to be updated. I will not be a return customer!!! Not only is Brad the shit but his food is amazing and ALWAYS the freshest seafood. always. I smelled the food one time just out of curiosity (nothing negative i just wanted to sniff it) and Brad ran over to me and asked if everything was perfect. We have been coming to Yoon for about two years. Hands down, the best sushi in town. The atmosphere is welcoming, the quality of all the dishes consistent. We are moving out to Powder Springs and yet we will still make the trip to Yoon. The Spicy Ramen is our FAVORITE dish, especially when you have a cold. We get ours extra spicy for a little extra kick. If you are expecting lots of sushi/sashimi creations, this is not your place. This is about quality, not fancy concoctions to be trendy. Very good Authentic Japanese, owner is Japanese. Has Wide selections, from appetizers to ala carte, or combinations, squid salad for example, is tender, not chewy, all food presentations are fresh, detailed as you would expect. The sushi was good . I would not consider it spectacular but it is better that most. However the reason I only rated it a 3 is due to value for money. The rolls are small and they are expensive. I have to admit that I do tend to compare sushi to Niko Niko near the Mall of Georgia. In my opinion the quality is similar but the rolls are less than half the size. We've been getting sushi from here for 3 years now. While I'm not familiar with the pricing issues that Jenn R. wrote about, I will say I've only had 1 bad experience and it was just that our fried rice takeout was very slow to come out. As far as the sushi goes, I love spicy tuna rolls and Yoon's is one of the better ones I've had. They don't just dollop a bit of Sriracha sauce like other places do, they marinate the fish and give it a good soak. The heat does vary, but that is okay since I've never had it too hot. We also love the salmon tar tare, but wish they would create a 50/50 version where you could get half salmon and half tuna. The smoked salmon is the best of the ngiri. Of note: they are continuing their 20% off sushi rolls discount through October, with the exception of Friday dinner...but we always get it to go (so we can have it with Champagne / sparkling wine), so that won't affect our patronage. read more

I have been dining at Yoon's since it has opened. Not only do they have the most fresh and fine quality sushi, the atmosphere is spot on. they have an amazing aquarium inside the bar and the waitresses are very easy to work with. the chefs are always friendly and with the help of their waitresses they are always going above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience. the prices are more expensive but keep in mind it is fine dining. everything is clean and i would recommend giving it a try! hope you enjoy as much as i do. read more

Everything was absolutely delicious! I had teriyaki chicken with fried rice and vegetables. I cannot stand cooked cabbage or carrots (which the veggies consisted of both) but I loved loved it! We drove about 10 miles because we heard how great this place was -- and we were not disappointed. Great sushi and very friendly sushi chefs that are always ready to explain what they are making. The portions seem expensive until you see how huge they are. A single piece of nigiri sushi is easily twice the size of what you get anywhere else. The rolls are very good and also huge. Next time I go there I think I will sit and watch the chefs for about 10 minutes before I order anything. They have so much on the menu and it all looked so good as it was being carried to other tables. I look forward to going back soon. read more

I looked for a sushi place near Canton and this came up in Yelp. Reviews looked good so I thought I'd give it a try. I can't tell you how pleased I was. My wife and I had the Georgia roll and the Double Dragon roll. They were excellent! We've been to several sushi places in many other states and have to say that this one is right up there with what you'd expect good sushi to be. Yoon is right behind the counter making your rolls fresh for you. Tell him it's your first time there and you will receive a complimentary cucumber salad. If your looking for sushi don't overlook this place. I will definitely be back many times over. read more

You wouldn't expect Canton to have a great sushi restaurant, but Yoon Sushi is actually really great. We go there at least 2 times a month for the past year and have never had a bad meal. The atmosphere is nice and the only reason they don't get five stars is because sometimes if it gets busy, the service is a bit slow. Overall a great restaurant though. read more
