I have hired different Movers in the past few years, You-Move-Me brings the moving experience to next level. Tony (the owner) personally takes care of my serive request, explains the fees and coverage terms in details, most importantly, their quote is very competitive among several companies' quote. Making appointment with them is simple and easy: Set a date, confirm number of movers needed, sign the agreement. That's it. On the moving day, Jessie, Adrian and Isaac show up on time with a decent size truck. I was very nervous that I have not finished packing all my stuff and there were couple furnitures I have no time to disassemble. Jessie and folks professionally walk through my house to undersatnd what's needed to be moved, and they told me not to worry about those furnitures coz they will help to break down and setup at new place for me. Wow.. what a relief ! The moving team was professional, careful and efficient. Well communicated with me throughout the move. Successfully packed all my belongings in the truck on time and unload at new place. At the new location, the unloading and placement expereince was smooth (Tips: best to label all your stuff with their "destinated room", this would save you a lot of time when unloading). Jesse and team quickly walk through the new place layout, they unloaded all my stuff at lightening speed (with care of course) and place to the room where assigned. Finally helped me to assemble the funitures as promised. Their team was polite with respect, worked hard and honest. (Some other movers would take break every 30 mins, steal valuable items, request for tips at the end ... etc. This DID NOT happen at all during my experience with You-Move-Me. We had a great experience with You Move Me from start to finish. We set the job up with Tony and provided the storage facilities we were going to, however the day of the move I ended up changing the unit location. Tony was good about it. We had 2 movers show up Daniel and Santiago and they were great! They moved things quickly. Once we got to storage I wasn't sure everything would fit, but Daniel made it fit! It looked amazing! The movers wrapped very little of our stuff before tossing it into boxes. Some polished wood picture frames were severely damaged (they were crammed in unwrapped and scratched by a metal bicycle pump). I filed a claim for the damage, but suddenly they're completely unresponsive. Scheduling the move was fine, but it's super shady to ghost me once you've got my money and need to service my claim. I'm a repeat customer, and I'm very disappointed with our latest move. It definitely feels like their quality has dropped off. The high price, which I was happy to pay for what I believed would be premium service, is no longer worth it. Bottom line, I was quoted for 8 hours of moving and it ended up taking more than 10. When you're paying $300 per hour, this makes a big difference! When we used this company before I felt taken care of, listened to and respected. They brought me coffee and a little houseplant - definitely not equivalent to pricing that's 20% higher than the average, but I didn't care because I'm willing to pay more for good service. This time, I felt just like another job for these people. Gone was the friendly day-of service. Instead I got slow, inexperienced movers, and when I told the managers (by email) that I wasn't happy I got no response. I'm still waiting - maybe I'll get one now. To begin with, Tony and Roosevelt came to my 2BR and quoted for an 8 hour move - 4 hours and 3 movers to pack, 4 hours and 4 movers to move. I made sure we were *thorough* in the estimate, since I'd rather know what I'm getting into, even if it's going to cost me. I don't like surprises. Then it's moving day, and we begin packing. I helped, and still not everything was packed in the allotted 4 hours. I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem, since everything else would be "speed packed" while moving - that should have been a warning sign. "Speed pack" is short for "we throw everything in a big box and put it on a floor dolly", and it's anything but speedy, since it still takes time to get the boxes ready, pile everything in, and wheel it to the truck. So much of the morning was wasted as the movers finished packing, and it didn't help that one of the movers, Noel, didn't show up until and hour and a half after he was supposed to. Also, at one point I noticed that only one of four movers was actually moving things out of my apartment, so I went to the truck to find the others and ask what was going on. Brandon said they needed to move the truck so the could bring the second truck to the loading dock. So, you need three guys to move two trucks? Smells like BS. Again, when I'm paying $300 per hour I don't expect to have three movers out of commission for nearly a half hour to move a truck. In the end, they didn't charge me for four movers until after Noel arrived, but since he was late, it ended up taking longer. Even Brandon admitted to this. In the end my bill was more than $600 over what was quoted, and that was after the estimators assured me that the original quote was padded and would probably be less. Poor salesmanship or poor estimate, I'm not sure which. YouMoveMe is the most expensive mover in the Bay Area, and for that I expect close to perfect service and accurate pricing. It's why I trusted them for this move, and unfortunately, what resulted is why I won't be using their service again. read more

I was quoted for a 2 man crew and the day before my move the "big boss" Tony decided to change it to a 4 man crew. He did not tell me this information nor did he ask me. Obviously this doubled the price per hour and the original quote was no longer intact. The movers came and gave me this information the day of. Obviously, I couldn't proceed as this was out of my budget but more importantly, done without my agreement. The movers said either I pay for 4 movers now or we aren't going to proceed with the move. Really disappointing as I had taken work off and my family had worked really hard to get everything ready for the movers. There was a huge miscommunication between their front desk call center representatives Richard and Kenan, who confirmed the move for me the day before. But the day of the move, the quote had doubled in price. I was very disappointed as Valerie and Tony, who were handling the case afterwards, failed to help with my move after I explained everything to them. They even reviewed the phone calls where there representatives apologized for their miscommunication and misunderstandings. I will be pushing this information through social media outlets as well as they wasted a lot of time and money for me. I gave them the chance to fix the mistake and continue to help with my move as mistakes can happen, but they did not care. read more

Their attention and effort to schedule our move was unacceptable. We are going with a different moving company. My experience with You Move Me began by talking to two reps on the phone who gave me two different quotes - one said that their hourly rate was $130, another rep quoted me $150/an hour for the same 2-men crew. Next, I needed them to sign a required Move In form. I had to check in 3 separate times asking them to sign the form. The rep kept promising that his manager was going to sign it shortly. They had a whole 1.5 business week to put one signature. I finally called off the appointment and am going with a different moving company who took care of the form and all necessary certificates within 2 business days. read more

In the packing process they packed certain items which we told them not to pack. They packed my iWatch also and now I am not able to find it in the box they are telling that they packed it. I have been calling them sending several emails to have their packer come and look in the box but no response from them, for last 8 days even after multiple calls. They do not even pick up or return my calls. Highly disappointed with the lack of response. My iWatch is pretty costly and do not want to lose it. These people are literally the most hassle-free, transparent and reliable moving company I have ever used in all my life. And here's why: 1) They took the most trouble to get as much detail from me as possible about the amount of stuff I had, where I was moving from and to and the sizes and type of both houses. No other moving company bothered to do as detailed an inventory of my items as these guys did over the phone. 2) Their estimate was reasonable and they clearly told me that they like to over-estimate hours to be safe. They don't like to underquote and then overcharge. 3) The actual cost turned out lower than the estimate! It was still reasonable compared to many other mom-and-pop style moving companies. Many people go for these mom-and-pop style movers thinking they're more economical. Well, I've tried those in the past as well and they're almost the same price (or sometimes even pricier!) and they're not even half as professional as these fantastic guys. 4) We had opted for a 2 person crew. They sent us a 3rd person for the last hour or so - and did not charge us extra! 5) The crew was super professional. They did not damage a single item and packed everything diligently. The unpacking and re-assembly was fast, efficient and confidence inspiring. 6) They seemed extremely trustworthy. I did not feel like I had to watch the crew or supervise them. 7) They wasted no time at all. No hanging out outside their trucks to waste time and overcharge their customers (a lot of other movers do this!) I cannot thank these guys enough for their excellent service. I recommend them with no hesitation at all. They made my moving experience very smooth and efficient! Their movers were *amazing*. They were professional, polite, careful, and worked hard. Their estimators, though, were a different story. The ball-park estimate they did on the phone was about 1/4 of our actual costs. We suspected it was a low-ball estimate, so we had them come out and see our apartment for a real estimate. That was still 1/2 of our actual costs. So when the move took longer then they estimated and cost twice as much... well we weren't pleased with the company overall. The estimator who came to the apartment was the manager of the local franchise, so he really should have had a better idea of how to estimate. But like I said, their actual movers are top notch. So end result, I would use them again, but budget for at least 1.5 times what they estimate. read more

($75.00 an hour for each mover used to do the work) -- This expense WAS NEVER DISCUSSED to me at the time of service sale. Now its all about he said she said -- but I can tell you that if this was ever told to me at the time of sale I would have said something. I would give them 10 stars if I could. We used Move Me to move this past Friday. Mark came out who was wonderful to give us an estimate and followed up with emails and phone calls. The team -- Carlos, Evan and Christian showed up before 7am, loaded for 3 hours, drove 6 hours and worked non-stop for another 4 hours helping us unload, unpack, build beds, chairs, tables etc.... They never took a break. They were super friendly, smiled the entire day and we even joked a little. There could not have been a better crew. They still had to drive 6 hours north after all that. They never once made you feel like they were getting tired. They cleaned up all the cardboard and trash and took it with them. Honestly it felt like Dr. Suess. Amazing company. Really amazing crew. My move went okay, but I probably wouldn't use this service again. Before I give my review, it should be known that there is a corporate You Move Me, with a call center in Canada, and then various franchises, which is what the location in Santa Clara is. So when one calls the 800 number and gets a quote, you are talking to someone in Canada, and not the actual business owner that will eventually give you a bill and coordinate your move. The movers that showed up did a great and quick job--they were friendly and worked fast. My only gripe, if you can even call it that, is that the movers brought one of their kids with them, who was about 10 years old, to help with the move. I have nothing against kids, and nothing against kids learning the value of a hard day's work, but prefer if that lesson isn't taught on my dime and with my belongings. I have expensive furniture and belongings, and wasn't thrilled to have to keep an eye on things to make sure my stuff wasn't chipped, dropped or otherwise damaged because a kid was moving it down stairs and into the truck. Again, no issues, but could've done without that. The bigger issue was when the bill came. The Canadian call center quoted me $300 for a two hour move, which included 2 hours at $130 per hour and drive time. My movers showed up 15 minutes late and then finished right at the two hour mark. It took them some time to prepare the bill in the back of the truck, and then they handed me a bill for $425--which the mover explained was for 2.5 hours because they are told to charge for the full time they are there (including however long they spend preparing the bill in the back of the truck) and a $35 charge for packing material (shrink wrap and what not I suppose because I did all of my own packing). I wasn't thrilled. I called the Canadian call center and was told there was nothing they could do and to call the local franchise. After a few days someone in Santa Clara called me back and explained that my quote was actually over $500 (WHAT?! First time I am hearing this)--but after some discussion, the local franchise took $65 off the bill, bringing my bill to $360. Better, but still not the "upfront rates" they advertise. Update: looks like the wall by the front door was damaged during the move. Great. I wouldn't use these guys again. read more

I was VERY VERY HAPPY with these guys. They did a AWESOME JOB. I've moved a few times and have used a couple moving guys in the past. This time I helped my father in law and we used, YOU MOVE ME. They charged a fair price and they did a fantastic job from start to finish. Jose and Robert got to our storage unit on time at 6AM on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately it started raining but in shorts and short sleeves those two guys really kicked butt and moved fast. Probably got our whole storage emptied out and loaded under 90 minutes. While loading the truck, Frank Carranco, the GM stopped by just to check in on us and make sure his guys were there and doing a good job. I was appreciative of him stopping by but what really impressed me was that he left, then shortly came back with coffee for his guys AND for us! The customer service was like no other company I've used. Then they drove all the way to my family's new house in Tracy and emptied out the truck and got everything moved in, in just a couple hours. The rain made things a little messy but the guys used mats in the house and were very clean. They moved quick but we're still very gentle and carful. You Move Me does a great great job. Very professional, clean, and quick. Jose are Robert were very polite and such hard workers. They listened to all my mother in laws request and were very nice to me and my whole family. You Move Me did a fantastic job moving me this week. Shannon, Darnell, and Gilbert moved my one bedroom's worth of furniture and boxes, then charged me about half of the original quote and handed me a cute little plant as a housewarming gift. They wrapped everything up in padding and plastic and treated it gently - everything arrived in my new apartment in perfect condition. Plus, all three guys were really awesome! Very, very happy with this moving company. The two movers that showed up were Larry and Felipe. We spent the entire day with them and I cannot say enough good things about their abilities at their job. Never any indication that they weren't at your beckon call. I was constantly saying could you lift this, or could you take this out to the truck or I want this to come off the truck first and both men would smile and stop what they were doing to accommodate my request. It is so hard to know if you are choosing the right company to handle your move when so many negative words have been written about things that can happen. Movers were great, arrived on time did their job and didn't go over the estimated time! Overall pleased with that part. Now Franky had quoted me for a 3.5 Hr drive time, but the manager, Tony, had quoted me for a 3.75 Hr drive time which I didn't realize until AFTER I paid them once the movers were done. When I reached out to Tony to get a reimbursement for overpaying them he never replied back. So the movers did their job they made their money but he didn't even bother to follow up with an explanation or anything. This could have been resolved but instead I was ignored. If you're reading this Tony, and had you called me back, you would not be reading this negative review now. I would not recommend this business to anyone without thoroughly checking if you receive 2 different estimates from 2 different people to make sure they match 100% otherwise you may get ghosted like I was. It's amazing how much crap you can accumulate in such a short amount of time. This was my first time using movers so I got a few quotes. I ended up using YouMoveMe because of the price and reviews. I have to say Robert, Abel, and DeShannon were THE best. They were courteous, efficient, and very careful not to damage anything both packing up and moving into our new house. Robert explained our options before they started and I was happy to find out the initial estimate was reasonable and the final price more than fair. We had some pretty heavy and bulky items and they did everything quickly and with a smile. All-in-all very good and trustworthy! I had a slight mix up with the confirmation--just know that if you book online, the online confirmation is your confirmation. They call the day before the move. As a result I canceled my move for that day (thinking it wasn't confirmed), but they were really great about re-booking me and giving an estimate. The phone customer support was great, and they made sure to keep in contact with me on the day of the move. John and Shox were awesome! They came on time, and although disbelieving that we could do the move so quickly came through at record fast time. They were very careful with my furniture and very communicative. We used You Move Me to move from Redwood City to San Francisco on 3/8. While we had packed most of our things in boxes, we didn't have any of our furniture prepared to move. Anthony and Mark really went the extra mile, and wrapped all of our furniture, TVs, and pictures so that they were safe on the ride up to SF. I was very impressed with how much care they took with our belongings, and felt like they were really experienced. The move definitely took longer than any of us originally anticipated, but they didn't rush -- they spent the time to do the job right. They provided great, trustworthy service. These guys are amazing! Moving is the worst, but our experience with this company made things about 1000x less stressful. I called the company per a friend's recommendation. A couple days later, Roosevelt came to our house to do a walk through and provide an estimate. He was super friendly and knowledgable, and answered all my questions. His estimate (manpower needed, timeframe, and cost) was also pretty spot-on, which I really appreciated. On the day of the move, the awesome Marc P. headed up the team including Ivan, Kevin, Todd, and Michael M. Marc gave me a courtesy call in the morning to double check that we were all set for the day, and they showed up right when expected. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to get all our stuff (sooo many boxes and furniture and large potted plants!) safely tucked away in the trucks, but these guys were Tetris masters. I was honestly shocked at their level of skill in loading the trucks. They also helped me pack up all the loose odds and ends (ok... maybe more than a few loose items) that I just didn't have the time to get into boxes before their arrival. Everyone was so friendly, easy going, polite, and professional. I can't imagine moving heavy boxes and furniture all the time, but these guys are real professionals and they never flinched at the task. They took great care with our items and even helped disassemble furniture at the old house then re-assemble and arrange it at the new place. Truly, above and beyond. I hope I never have to move again but if I do I know who I'll be calling. read more

I contacted Tony Sandoval who is the manager and they helped me move everything I own extremely last minute and they did a fantastic professional job! The movers were so kind and professional. I didn't have everything completely ready even when they arrived, but these guys were patient and moved me out and then into my new place in under an hour. Trust me. Pros: * Everyone was nice and friendly Cons: * SLOW. I had double the crew (and of course paid for it) but they were done FIVE hours later than what the manager estimated and reassured me mid way though the job. * Everything was packed and repacked in tons of paper. It slowed the packing and slow the unpacking significantly. * I had to work my ass off: the team was disorganized and I acted like part mover, part team lead. I registered 22,000 steps that day running around in the house. * Things were forgotten: stuff was left in the house, stuff that was labeled to storage ended up at home and vice versa. I had to make several trips between my house, new house and storage to fix it. * things got damaged - broken glass on a picture, cracks on furniture. So I ended up paying 20%-30% more than I should have, spent hours fixing their errors and still had some damage despite the careful packing. I tried to keep this feedback off Yelp but Steve the manager never responded to my feedback email that I sent over a month ago. UPDATE: Steve did answer after a reminder but offered no help, didn't suggest to compensate me for the damaged items and the wasted time. I originally gave them a 2 star rating but this response cost another star. UPDATE 2: The manager of the location called, took full responsibility and offer a generous refund. While not changing the past, it is the best way to try to fix things after the fact. read more

In addition to their friendly demenour, they showed a competence and capability in being able to perform the job, from wrapping/boxing small items, to maneuvering extremely heavy and bulky furniture items. One of the worst moving experiences I've had. The team was very friendly at first, but that quickly changed once I asked them to wrap headboards and footboards which are made of fabric inside the house and not in the truck because I didn't want to get them dirty. Everything went downhill from there. Their packing was sloppy to say the least. There were ski boots packed on top of Christmas ornaments which of course resulted in the ornaments being broken. There were decorative mirrors and trinkets placed in boxes without any protective wrapping and broke. There were items not wrapped properly and got extremely dirty. Last but not least, I emailed my representative about not being able to find a box with some items and my email was completely ignored. Very disappointed with the service considering I paid them over $2000! read more
