The food here is alright and the service is also just okay, but it's a very aesthetic place for cute photos. I personally find the dinner options taste better than brunch, with the brunch only looking aesthetic but tasting kind of bland. The person that greets you at the front is also very questionable sometimes because they could have a bad attitude depending on which person greets you, also they make you wait until your full party arrives even if you've made a reservation. I came here this past Saturday night around 7:45 for my Anniversary. I made reservations a week in advance and requested to be sat in the outdoor area. Upon arrival, the hostess with the red hair was extremely rude with an unpleasant face to look at . She just stared at us when we walked up to her. She took an oddly long amount of time to find our reservation, then sat us indoors. When I asked if we could be seated outside as I clearly saw multiple tables open she told me nothing was open, then proceeds to sit others there minutes after, mind you we had a reservation. No smile on her face the whole time. The food was okay, nothing I'd come back for. Drinks were decent. The service for the rest of the night was also decent. All in all I should have listened to the reviews about the service. Won't be coming back here. They need to get a better hostess, it sets the entire tone for your dinner here. read more

Parking: Valet I believe was $11; however there is plenty of free neighborhood street parking if you don't mind walking a couple blocks. Read all the signs, but at dinner time, parking near the elementary school on Edinburgh is free! Experience: The restaurant is beautiful! Definitely try to sit outside on the patio, the inside is extremely dark and loud. While the menu isn't anything too special, the food we ordered was delicious. Was here for the first time tonight for dinner. First, the ambiance is beautiful. Very classy. Great lighting. Indoor outside courtyard seating all well done. It is well hidden behind 20 ft Ivy covered walls so it's like an oasis protected from the hustle and bustle of Fairfax blvd Our server Emma and dining room assistant, Javier, were amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Emma was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Both were top notch The food was tasty, creatively presented and specail. We had the sesame shrimp appetizer which was a big portion and delicious and the buratta and prosciutto with fresh peaches and cherry tomatoes equally as delicious and big portion size. Entrees were the Branzino and Short Rib tarantelle pasta on a rich brown sauce. Both portion sizes were huge and seasoned and prepared great. Dessert we shared the chocolate layer cake with and extra scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Outstanding. We also met the GM, Roy who was very welcoming and hospitable. He checked up on throughout the dinner and was a gracious host. Ok. Do I sound excited about Ysabel ..... it's because I am ! I dine out 1 to 2 times per week in LA. Everything about this place is a 10 out of 10. From the moment you walk in the decor is beautiful. So many places to take pictures if you are into that. The hand cut rigatoni was fantastic. I loved the tomato vodka sauce, definitely one of my favorites pastas in SoCal. The tuna tartare was very good, but didn't stand out as much. Loved this restaurant! I had heard such amazing things so figured it was about time to put those reviews to the test. My friend and I had such a lovely experience with delicious food. The aesthetic of the restaurant is so lovely - very modern, chic, and clean. Our table was at 6pm and we were the first ones there but it was busy and very lively by the time we finished! The staff were incredibly attentive so no complaints about the service at all. I had the chopped Mediterranean salad to start which was delicious. Super fresh and a great combination with the roasted chickpeas. Exactly the kind of salad I love! My cauliflower steak was also amazing. The hummus paired so well with the spices and flavours. Also loved the chickpeas again! My friend got the rigatoni which is the most famous dish on the menu. She said it was perfectly spicey and al dente. Ysabel has always been a great scene to grab drinks, apps, and meet with friends. I finally went here for dinner after years and got the watermelon mocktail, whipped feta, wild mushroom risotto, and pan roasted salmon. All of the food was great, but the risotto could have used something more. It lacked something & wasn't flavorful. The whipped feta was my favorite item we ordered. I've been here for dinner a few years ago, the vibe was really nice at nighttime and I loved the pasta they served. Came here for brunch this time on a Saturday at 11ish, it wasn't busy at all, so service was great. we kept it simple and just got pancakes (which were insanely fluffy!!!) and the breakfast burrito. I was so hungry when I came here, so the food to me was delicious lol. The pancakes were super fluffy and the syrup was bomb. The burrito was simple, I got a side of hot sauce & the bacon on the side to make each bite filled with bacon lol (i just poured them on top and added a potato to each bite) and it was delicious. The lemon ricotta pasta is as good as people say. The hamachi is delicious. The courtyard is hot hot hot on a sunny day- so Mothers Day dinner felt like I was roasting. Upon arrival 7:15 we checked in and they had us wait until 7:50 no big deal. . The hostess came to get us and immediately stated we can sit you now but we need the table back by 9:15. I spoke the manager respectfully and he didn't not want to hear what I had to say. He said there's a party coming in by that time and we need to be done by then. I totals him we're getting seated late and you're rushing us and we haven't even got to our table. He didn't care. I spoke to another manager once we got our table and he just said I'm aware of the situation and walked away without saying anything else. This is not a way to treat a customer and they don't seem to care. Food was terrible and bland the bad cut rigatoni lacked flavor. The ambience seems alright. I grabbed dinner at Ysabel with 3 other friends to celebrate a graduation. The food, the ambiance, the service...all incredible! I ordered the Sophia to drink with a slice of watermelon and a tajin rim, definitely recommend getting it this way, it was refreshing and full of flavor. For dinner we ordered: -HAND CUT RIGATONI tomato vodka sauce, calabrian chili, basil, shaved 24-month aged parmesan -BRAISED SHORTRIB TAGLIATALLE carrots, cipollini onions, parsley -LEMON SPAGHETTI meyer lemon, aged parmesan, grated cured egg yolk. Added shrimp. We shared, all pastas were 12/10. I was very surprised by how much we all loved the lemon spaghetti which went very well with the shrimp. Personally, my favorite was the short rib tagliatelle, the meat was so tender and the pasta was perfect, the sauce was full of flavor. For dessert we shared the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream which was the perfect ending to our meal. The space is beautiful, lots of photo ops! The service was wonderful and the overall vibe was very relaxed. I am looking forward to coming back! The service is exceptionally nice. But the food was not extremely memorable. Perhaps I came on an off day - it was a Sunday evening. We had already waited quite some time for it and we hate asking for modifications but our food was so cold that we needed to ask for it to be warmed. My wife came here to celebrate our 20 year anniversary and this place, the food and staff did not disappoint. We made reservations ahead of time and decided to take an Uber from our nearby hotel. The ambience was very elegant with a warm welcoming staff. When we arrived, the host sat us near a gas heater so it was very nice. We both ordered the NY steak and added a few sides. Cocktails came fast and our steaks were made exactly as requested. You will not regret the steaks here and I highly recommend! The staff made sure to check on us here and there and all of them were very nice and welcoming. They were so awesome that our waiter brought us a complimentary dessert to commemorate our anniversary. Ysabel has a very nice setting and ambiance at night and is a great spot for drinks and grabs, dates or catching up with friends. There are things though that at this price point it always kinda leaves a feeling of you not getting your money's worth 100%. We were two couples so 4 people total. Had 2 rounds of drinks and food and the bill was around 460$ (without tip etc) which is not bad but also not cheap for all of us to walk out hungry. The apps we ordered were truly great, the roasted beets was beautiful and the whipped cheese it came on was a great combination and presentation. The Hamachi sashimi was very small and the pieces of fish were thin and tiny, absolutely not worth the money even tho it looks nice. The spicy tuna crispy rice was a fun snack but ill give it 8/10 just cause i dont really care for this dish personally but it was good. The fried calamari was truly great and perfectly cooked. The service was a bit slow and off, we were not checked on as often as the restaurant should have considering the number of food and drinks orders, after we got different drinks or food items we were nit checked on which is important since if there is an issue with something and your guest can't enjoy the item you should take care of it immediately and not let them wait for you to come 15 minutes later. The main dish we had was the Salmon currently on the menu. The fish was cooked well but it came in thai curry sauce that didnt taste like much at all other than coconut milk. The other couple ordered sea food pasta and both pasta's didnt have any salt in them so we needed to wait for someone to come check on us only to ask for salt. To sum this review up: 1. Appetizers are much better than the main dishes. 2. Drinks and snacks are highly recommended but not full set dinner. 3. Lower your expectations on service and you'll be okay. Ysabel can do much better at service and portions sizes, will still come back for drinks but not dinner. read more

Love coming here for the vibes. It's a good spot to wear a cute outfit and grab dinner with the girls. Made a reservation online in advance and your entire party needs to be present before you can be seated. For the three of us, we had the shrimp, truffle fries, broccolini, rigatoni, scallops, and brussel sprouts - all that was a good amount of food. The service is slow but they're nice. Stopped by here for my friend's birthday, and I was so pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the inside seating area was, and how the space seamlessly transitioned from day to night. Ysabel also features a seasonal/monthly menu with quite a variety of dishes to choose from. I was impressed with how well-prepared and delicious every dish we tried was, although I thought nothing was mind-blowing and a bit pricey given the portions. Their cocktails were well-mixed and contained a good quantity of alcohol, and I would highly recommend grabbing a drink or two with your meal.
