I came across a katsu place in Dublin that's a Korean restaurant rather than a Japanese restaurant, which I found really interesting, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered their donkatsu, which was a deep fried pork cutlet, served with Korean style chewy noodles. First of all, I really loved the consistency of the chewy noodles. They were made with wheat flour and starch, which gave them a really nice chewiness that I enjoyed. Unfortunately, I didn't care much for the sauce. It was not bad - it was sweet, spicy, and slightly tangy, but it just isn't my favorite flavor profile. I also wasn't really sure that the noodles paired that well with the cutlet. I felt like the noodles overwhelmed the cutlet, and the cutlet itself tasted pretty bland. Someone else at my table ordered the cutlet with rice and curry sauce, and I actually thought that tasted better, so I'd probably get that instead next time. The restaurant was pretty small and very busy on the weekend. I completely understand that they were busy, but we basically didn't get any service whatsoever. We had a kid with us, and nobody came by to offer us a highchair. And then, during our entire meal, nobody came by to offer to refill our water either. The service was extremely lacking, and I think that really affected my overall experience. I just wish they had paid a little more attention to the quality of service they were providing.
I had lunch w/ some rellies at nearby Yumee, a Korean katsu place in Dublin off the 580. You order from a screen at your table, and the food is brought to you: Most entrees are ~ $21. I ordered the giant pork katsu curry. It comes w/ rice, salad, soup, radish and kimchee. The pork cutlet was massive. I was stuffed afterwards. On the other hand, the flavor of the curry was just ok. I have had this dish (donkatsu) in LA K Town, and the place I went to had a better seasoned curry. Regarding the ambiance, YK is one of several casual eateries in this strip mall. Its small inside but comfortable. The servers are friendly enough and efficient. I'd return if I were in the area. However, I would not go out of my way to come here. The food is pretty good, and it was conveniently located.
This place was good! I got the curry katsu and shared some of the katsu mozzarella. Each plate came with side of salad, rice, and miso soup, sauce, and some side. Plenty of parking in the plaza.
I was craving katsu and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the spicy pork katsu, which came with miso soup, salad, pickles, kimchi, and sauce. The katsu was crispy, juicy, and not overcooked. Everything tasted good. And the sides complemented the meal well.
This place has been on my list for a while, and I'm glad I checked it out! I came here for a quick dinner on a weeknight, and was shocked to see it fully packed. It is a relatively smaller restaurant with about 8 tables or so. Our server was incredibly nice and attentive, and checking in periodically to make sure our waters are filled and we're enjoying the food. I like how the katsu includes a variety of sauces/pairings to enhance the flavor! The curry was delicious and I really enjoyed the pork tonkatsu (part of the assorted plate). I'd come back here to try more items on their menu. Parking is easy! It's located in a shopping plaza so plenty of parking spaces in an open lot.
Service is really good: friendly, attentive, fast and fast. I like the big katsu, it's so tasty. Soba is yummy too. Pork Katsu is delicious. Parking is easy. Nice, clean store. Will come again
First time trying this place and chose it since we were craving something different than the normal places we eat. When I was in Japan, we went to restaurants that specializes in katsu mainly. We ordered on our table with the self help monitor- Pork Katsu and chicken katsu with curry. Food was nicely presented with daikon, Kim chee and miso soup and a cabbage salad. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and my wife seemed to like my pork a bit more than her chicken . Still 5 stars for both. Service- the gentleman manager with the #1 dad hat was very nice and checked on us. Easy and relaxing place to eat. We can on a Saturday at 2 pm and the place was close to full and we got lucky we got a table. Max capacity says 38 people. Would definitely come again when craving for katsu!
Found this place when looking for a place to eat after seeing a nearby movie. It's a smaller restaurant that was pretty busy for a weeknight dinner. Ordering is done through a tablet and I went with a chicken katsu curry udon. The flavors of the chicken and udon were pretty solid and the curry wasn't really spicy, but it had some hints of heat. It comes with some side dishes but I only really liked the miso soup.
Spicy Chewy Noodles are our favorite here. The wait isn't as long as it used to be but the food is still top notch for katsu in the area. Also recommend the cheese katsu.
Yumee Katsu absolutely delivered. Everything we ordered was solid, satisfying, and genuinely delicious. The standout for me was the katsu curry. The katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside while staying tender inside, and the curry was rich, flavorful, and completely addictive. I kept going back for another bite even when I was already getting full. The udon noodle soup was comforting and well-balanced, while the cold soba noodles were refreshing and nicely textured. I also loved the chewy spicy cold noodles--they had a great bite and just the right amount of spice, making them surprisingly memorable. Portions here are incredibly generous. Even after eating until I was stuffed, my plate still looked full. Definitely great value for the amount of food you get. The meal also comes with kimchi and yellow radish sides, which were the perfect complement. Their freshness and acidity helped cut through the richness of the fried dishes and tied everything together nicely. Overall, a delicious meal with generous portions and plenty of variety. I'd happily come back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you're craving quality katsu and comforting noodle dishes.
Stumbled on this place when me and my fam were looking for a place to have a late lunch after shopping at the outlets. I love me a good curry katsu plate, and appreciated how they also offer noodles with their katsu, as my bf prefers that instead of rice. We were shocked to notice the spicy noodles come out cold (we absolutely love cold noodles) since not many places offer that. We were so impressed at how tasty literally everything we ordered was. The staff were also so nice and welcoming, and inside was pretty spacious with many filled tables. This will definitely be our new go-to spot to come by after a shopping day at the outlets!
Overall food was good and service was friendly. The portion size looks a bit less than the pictures on the menu. You can ask for more radish which we didn't know about until the waiter ask us. Not really suitable for large parties as most tables are for 4 people.
When we arrived on a Saturday night, we got seated right away. We're a party of 2. We ordered the Yumee Katsu and the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice which were both delicious. The katsu were very juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The restaurant was very quiet overall with diners chatting within their tables so this is a great restaurant if you're looking for something quiet. I would come back here again.

Got here right at opening and was the first ones here. By 11:28, entire place was packed with a line starting to form outside. Place is small and cannot hold big parties easily. You order on the table kiosk and they bring the food out fairly quick. Service was great. Large portions. Katsu was tender and juicy. Spicy noodles are cold noodles. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely come again soon. read more

This place was brand new and I wanted to try it because of the great reviews from word of mouth. Their pictures also made the food look so good! Although upon arriving there was already a line out the door. And the process of the waitlist was very confusing and unorganized. People were in line at the register which was also where the sign up sheet was and the kiosk to order your food so you didn't know where to go unless told. We waited about 1 hr for 2 ppl. There were small amount of tables and chairs so dining in can be challenging if you have a big group. When we were called for our turn we were then told we had to wait again because they had to use our table. But another employee said to order our food on the kiosk and have a seat so it was confusing. The employees looked overwhelmed and were trying to keep up with the rush but it was all unorganized. It took a while for us to get served utensils and water. But when the food came it all looked delicious. Except the curry was cold as if it was sitting out for a while before they placed the katsu and rice. The food was decent and portion size was big since it came with lots of small sides. But not worth the hype in my opinion. read more

Wow my friend and I got here early and the place was already packed! I feel like it's hard to go wrong with any of their menu items - they're all so good! The katsu is not oily - very crisp on the outside and juicy/flavorful meat on the inside. I was very impressed! It's probably the best katsu restaurant I've been to so far in the area. Tables were clean and I got to enjoy the kpop music playing as I enjoyed the meal. I can foresee them expanding if the quality of their food and service remain this way! Definitely will be back and will be bringing my family and friends here! read more

Korean Katsu! Came in end of September (still part of soft opening), during weekday lunch around 11:35AM. Seated right away, simple menu with katsu combo that comes with salad, soup, apps, and a carb (rice, noodles, etc). Order on tablet on the table or employee will take your order. The layout works for the limited space in the restaurant. Edamame for an appetizer. Order a Yumee Katsu ($17.99) and Topokki Katsu ($20.99). The meat needs to have more seasoning (salt), the katsu sauce helped, but needs more salt in the meat. The tteobboki noodles had a great chew, the sauce had good spice. Cabbage salad and soup is simple, yet delicious. The spicy radish Bonchon was not great, but it comes with the meal. Overall, a wonderful place to get katsu in the area. read more

Small place that can get busy because Yumee has great katsu. Their katsu is done really well. I had the mixed katsu with pork, shrimp and cheese. The breading is crispy and the pork was still so juicy and tender. The cheese was delicious-mild and gooey in a good way. Loved the contrast in texture. I'd definitely return when I'm craving katsu. read more

Delicious katsu with an iPad to order at every table! The food comes super fast and they check in with us to make sure everything is good! There's a lot of tables that are suitable for 2-4 people. Excellent katsu spot- portions, flavors and customer service! We enjoyed the curry katsu, assorted katsu with a side of cold soba noodles, and the tonkatsu with chewy spicy noodles. All were delicious. My daughter's order was taking longer than the rest.. they had given it to another table in error. Not sure if he's the owner or manager, super apologetic and gave us an order of tteokbokki on the house. Hubby doesn't normally eat spicy but he tried it, enjoyed it, even if he had to drink the whole carafe of water. Great spot and we will definitely be back. read more
Another nee spot that just opened up in Dublin! Yumee katsu is located conveniently in the plaza near target. We stopped by during Friday and it wasn't too busy. Upon sitting down for a few minutes, a rush of dinner patrons came by lining up to order. They don't have a lot of seatings inside, so there were groups waiting to dine in. We were originally seated at a table that sat 4, and was asked to a table to seat 2 later. No big deal but we moved to a spot that was a bit colder since they had the door open. The menu selection has a variety of katsu dishes ranging from cheese, fish, and pork. It's served with curry, katsu sauce, and does come plain on a few dishes. Depending on the dish you order too, it comes with rice or udon. We got our food in about 10 minutes after ordering. We ordered the king donkatsu and a donkatsu spicy chewy noodle. The don katsu is their advertised big order of katsu. While indeed large, it's a very thinly sliced piece of pork compared to the katsu my girlfriend got. The sauce is also a katsu sauce, served with rice, typical Bon chon like radish. The donkatsu with chewy noodle had a much thicker cut of katsu but a lot smaller. The noodles itself had the same texture kojack with gochujang sauce. Both dishes came with a soup that I highly recommend saving for last as it's the best thing in the plate. The soup was a bit spicy and had a ton of flavor. In terms of service, we noticed food sitting around before it was served. When we received our food, everything on the tray was received warm and some even cold. The noodles were ice cold when received. Overall, it's a nice version of katsu if you've never had Korean style katsu. Would I come back though? Probably not as it's missing some of the key elements of a great katsu place. If you're looking for portion, look somewhere else. If youre craving for hot and spicy foods, it's not here. I think if you give this place a few months to figure out their front of the house and back, and giving it some time to mature after the hype, maybe it's worth another visit. This is a Korean curry restaurant and the food was very good! Pork was fried to perfection! The place was clean and well organized. The server was very attentive and prompt . The water they served had a hint of fresh lemon, very good flavor to pair with the food. I def think it's not sink water, it's filtered water! Overall portion was substantial and flavor was 5/5! My 10yrs old son loves both Donkatsu and tteokbokki so much that he always used to struggle to decide what to eat. However, YUMEE KATSU solved that dilemma for us thanks to their special menu item called 'Topokki Katsu'! Personally, the Donkatsu spicy chewy noodles (Katsu+Jjolmyeon) is my favorite. I was expecting a lot from this place based on yelp pics . The portions looked gigantic and plentiful . Please check the hours they are out to lunch . I order to go the king donkatsu and the chicken katsu curry .It would probably taste better when warm and eaten at the restaurant . The king donkatsu was large but the sauce didn't do it justice . It was large but pounded thinly . The chicken curry katsu was tender and juicy and the curry was tasty but again would taste better when warm and eaten there . They use kiosks to order at each table . It was ok but not sure if I'd go back for the price read more

Let me tell y'all about the time I pulled up to Yumee Katsu in Dublin last week thinking I was just getting a quick bite... and instead got spiritually transformed by a plate of Katsu Topokki. First of all, WHO told them to combine crispy, golden, perfectly fried katsu with spicy, saucy, chewy rice cakes?? Because whoever did deserves a raise, a promotion, and a hug. That dish?? ILLEGAL levels of good. The crunch on that katsu?? Immaculate. The sauce?? Sweet, spicy, sticky, and got me contemplating life choices. And them rice cakes?? Chewy in a way that makes you keep eating even when you're already full. (Not the best decision ) Speaking of full...WHY are the portions built like they're feeding a small village?? I swear my plate came out looking like it had a family of three depending on it. I tried to pace myself... I really did... but that food said "nah, you finishing me today." Listen, I've eaten a lot of food in a lot of places... but this right here? Someone's grandma was in the kitchen whipping it up! If you like crispy, spicy, saucy, over-the-top comfort food that makes you pause mid-bite and go "hold up..." GO. IMMEDIATELY. Yumee Katsu, you did your thing. Giving this a 4-star review. Ordered takeout Curry Katsu Rice ($20.99) via their website. I was quoted 35 min until ready for pickup. I think it was ready some time before that since it was a weeknight and not really busy. Ate my meal about 30 min later and it was still warm and packaged well. Everything tasted good. It came with some soup, kimchi, and pickled daikon. Interesting fusion that I haven't mixed before. I did find myself wanting some fukujinzuke too. I particularly liked how thin the katsu was cut. I could have used more curry and rice, and I wish we could choose a spice level for the curry (I requested it on my online order, but nothing was spicy and no spices or chili were provided). Came here on a Friday night with the boo. Luckily we were able to get seated right away. You order on an iPad. Looking around you have the classic TV playing K-pop music videos on a wall. The selection mainly was katsu-based meals. We got the cheese katsu and the tonkatsu/tteokbokki meal. Food came out fairly quickly and the meal was delicious! I particularly loved how chewy the cheese katsu was and the tteokbokki was not too spicy. The pork was very tender on the inside. I also appreciated the small bowl of udon broth on the side and the various pickles to cut through the oiliness. Will definitely be back to try more of their katsu dishes! read more

Great place for Korean Katsu. I got katsu curry udon and my wife got the fish katsu. We ordered through their tablet system so we didn't really interact much with the employees besides food check in and paying the bill. The food was good and definitely a go to spot for curry katsu craving in the East Bay. I liked the soup they offered on the side and the cabbage. All the flavors were there and enjoyed the variety given. read more
Was glad to see a new Katsu place open up in Dublin but was surprised to see the menu as a fusion mix of Korean and Japanese flavors as I have not seen that particular mix before. Definitely was curious to see what type of flavor this end up being. Stopped by on a saturday around noon and the placed was packed! Nice to see some of these places actually busy and lively as I have seen way too much turnover with good places around this shopping center. Right off the bat I liked the improved decor of this place as this was previously a Ramen 101. Chairs are a big upgrade and very comfy but the locked up ipad ordering tablet only available on one end of the table is a sad state of our society unfortunately. Also the ordering software on the ipad is pretty poor with no bigger images, descriptions of the food items and no options to alter so not sure if that is a limitation of the ordering software or you just cant make any changes. I should have just asked for a print menu I guess or asked more questions as our server was very nice and friendly but pretty busy so I didnt want to bother them. Checking out the menu I was torn between ordering a standard pork katsu curry with rice (which would sort of be my measuring stick for a katsu place to compare against other similar places) or the interesting fusion options of chewy noodles, teokbokki and more standard fare such as udon soup or curry options. Very interesting options indeed so I decide to try out the pork katsu with chewy spicy noodle item called Donkatsu Spicy Chewy Noodle. My party also ordered the udon noodle soup and the pork katsu curry udon. When our food arrived I was very impressed by the size portions and colorful presentation of the main dish. Also included were some small side bonchon items of pickled and kimchee radish chunks a small side of curry and some miso soup. Did not realize you get some small sides so this was a nice bonus. Dove right into the pork katsu and it was amazing! The pork itself is super tender and well flavored and probably some of the best tasking katsu pork I have had. The breading was thin, light and very crispy but still adhered well to the pork so outstanding work on this pork katsu! Definitely seems to be the must have item if you come here and many of the dishes feature it so make sure to grab some version of it alongside your choice of base. As for my particular base I was initially shocked that it was a COLD noodle! I am not usually a fan of cold noodle dishes so while I was initially taken aback I found the cold japchae style noodle mixed with a medium spicy korean red sauce to be very pleasant and you could cut the noodle with some julienne raw cucumbers, carrots and shredded cabbage. I felt there was a tad too much of the veggies taking over my plate and it was hard to find space to mix it all together so having it on the side would be a more logistically pleasing way to mix this but then wouldnt look as nice I guess. I am not familiar with this korean noodle dish but if there was an option to get it hot I would be in heaven with this dish. As it was I still finished almost all of it as the sauce was amazing. The star of this dish and probably this place was th pork katsu however and it was a good sized portion but I still could have had even MORE after I was finished with it. The small side of curry sauce that was provided was decent but had a sweeter flavor in it that was not like your standard japanese curry but still good. I would have asked for more as there was not enough to dip all my katsu but I didnt know if the side order ($6) was what I needed to order or if I could just get refills; again I should have asked but was fine with what I had for the most part. I tried the Udon noodle soup which my partner really enjoyed but since I am not a fan of miso based broth I thought it was just okay but udon noodle texture seemed great. Personally my GOAT Japanese curry place is still Demiya on the east side of dublin as it has a more traditional japanese curry flavor to it and you can spice it up to your level of preference but I will say this pork katsu can go head to head with them and yet is just different enough to warrant making trips to both places to try out. Also with this place having additional korean style bases to select from really makes it unique. I will definitely be back to try the Chicken Katsu to compare as well but it will be hard to NOT select another dish with the pork katsu so I guess I will be ordering side of the pork just in case! Overall a great new addition of unique cuisine to try out in the area and highly recommend. Prices are about mid to high but you get pretty good portion size so I dont mind paying a bit more for the right amount of food. Please update the order software to reflect changes you can make or add more pictures and descriptions to the items so people can be better informed of what they are ordering otherwise amazing food and will be back very soon! read more

Came to visit after seeing good reviews and we were in the area. We were seated right away, even though it was a weekend. You order on the tablet at your table and food came out fairly quick. Only change was that we wished the Assorted katsu plate had smaller cuts of pork like the Katsu curry udon we ordered because it was easier to eat. Otherwise, breading was thin and crispy, sauces were good, and the udon was nice and chewy. Overall, would definitely recommend and we'd come back to this place! read more

So good!! Pleasantly surprised and loved everything. Got an assorted plate and it was worth every bite! Included Cheese Katsu, Crispy Shrimp and Thick pork cuts. Partner had the curry katsu and the curry was really good with thinner cuts of pork katsu. Combo comes with a salad really light and fresh yuzu dressing, Radish and Kimchi pickled sides, and miso soup. The dipping sauce was a sweet tonkatsu sauce and tartar sauce. Tried wasabi and pink salt combo with the pork katsu for the first time - another suggested way to enjoy the meal! *only note is the Udon was *fishy* than normal udon soup bases, if not your preference then request the miso base as your udon base instead! So I watch this japanese guy with a all white t-shirt eating for the most part katsu or tempura items on tik tok with a large side rice and eats his food rapidly. Anyways I influenced.lol.. I drove from Stockton CA to try this place. I wasn't disappointed. You order on a mounted tablet at the end of the table. Ambiance was adequate with k pop on the speakers. I ordered what you see on the picture. Combination katsu plate, regular pork katsu with rice and curry, and lastly cheese katsu. Not entirely cheese I think it was ham lined. Food came out relatively fast and everything was crispy and tasty. Even the vegetables dishes were crisp and tasty. I've had katsu before but not like this. This certainly suffice my influence to eat Japanese katsu. Will try again when in the area. read more

Casual katsu eatery, moderately noisy from background music and other tables. Quality food, plated nicely. Had the Katsu Curry Plate with a small side of udon (shared my meal with the kid). Order by screen at the table, then wait for food to be prepared. A little bit of a wait time as it was a full house even for a Thursday night! I've been craving authentic katsu for a while, and this spot absolutely nailed it. I haven't had katsu this good since my trips to Vegas and Hawaii. The meat was incredibly juicy, and the accompanying condiments complemented the flavors perfectly. On top of the fantastic food, the service was exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. This restaurant is nestled in a very comfortable plaza near the Livermore Outlets, which makes this spot an ideal lunch spot during your shopping sprees. The environment is casual and despite the physical size of the store, the dining area is relatively spacious. Service is great. The staff are friendly and attentive. During a visit, I was rubbing my chopsticks together to get rid of the splinters, and a staff member offered me a new pair. A very thoughtful gesture, even though I didn't need the extra pair lol. The food is excellent every time I have been here. While I prefer their chicken katsu, their base katsu (pork) is good in quality, better than most katsu place, if I am honest. Their katsu curry meals come with a salad, soup, and two pickled side dishes. The one detail that should be noted is that Yumee Katsu has taken the popular Japanese katsu curry meal set and made their own unique twists, which is notable in the way they serve Korean pickled sides instead of using fukujinzuke, which would have been the more typical side you'd expect with katsu curry. Their curry dishes have a good proportion of sauce to rice and protein. Their cheese katsu is nice as well and the dipping sauce has good flavor and optimal viscosity that sticks well to the katsu, but the dipping sauce is a little strong for my personal liking. Overall a great spot, and consistent food quality every time I come. Worth checking out and making it your casual go-to spot. read more

I can't believe I haven't tried this place sooner! It's located next to 88 Bao Bao and there's plenty of free parking in the lot. You can dine in or order takeout via the tablet. The menu is pretty simple with different types of Katsus, curries, and udons. We ordered the fish katsu and the chicken katsu. You can add a side of mini udon for $4. The meal comes with rice, salad, soup, dipping sauce, and pickles. The breading on the katsu was thin and super crispy. They definitely do not skimp on the meat. I normally don't write reviews unless I'm really compelled to, regardless if it's negative or positive. But after tonight's dinner at Yumee Katsu Dublin, I must speak up about me and my partner's experience dining at this establishment. When we first entered the restaurant, it was very busy and almost all the tables were in use. There were two tables left for two, but they were very close to each other. Nonetheless, our server (young gentleman I didn't get his name) seated me and my partner, as well as the couple that came two minutes earlier. The seating arrangement was quite uncomfortable and didn't really allow us to have much conversation without ease dropping. (Keep in time, this was on Valentine's Day.) We sat in our seats and the server came with our menus, two flimsy clear plastic cups, and a small canteen of water with a lemon wedge. We only looked at the menu for two minutes and the server came to our table ready to order. We were flustered because this was our first time at this restaurant and we didn't know what kind of dish we wanted, and he was pushing us to make a decision and order. He didn't offer us a recommendation, but rather presented us an expectation. We politely asked him to give us another few minutes to make a decision. When it came time to order our food, I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry with a Coke Zero (or Zero Coke, as they call it.) and my partner ordered a Terra beer with Katsu Curry. Within ten minutes, my Chicken Katsu arrived at my table. However, the curry was missing. They took my order wrong. Then my partner's food came and his cutlet was smothered in curry. I tried to get the server's attention to correct this error, but he was no where to be found... for five minutes. So I gave up waiting for him to complain and settled with the plate I did not choose. The food was mediocre. My chicken katsu was breaded and cooked to perfection, the cabbage salad was bland, the rice was mushy, the banchan was stale, and the katsu sauce included on the side was basically seasoned ketchup. My partner's curry was described as "dark gravy with little to no flavor." Although the food looked good and was Instagram worthy, the taste did not match it and it was not worth the social media hype. My mom is Korean and she can make a better curry sauce than this place. Not even five minutes into our meal, the server comes to our table to check on us, then promptly gave us the bill. We were stunned. We were very offended by this gesture, as we felt rushed and unable to properly enjoy a decent meal. The restaurant wasn't closing soon, and despite it being busy, there was no line for a table. We were nothing but polite to the server. So why did this happen? We were thoroughly disappointed, especially considering it was Valentine's Day. After we finished our meal, my partner paid the bill and left zero gratuity, still stunned over the poor customer service and mediocre food. Before we left, the server approached us and confirmed us that we were not leaving a tip. We said yes and left. If you're looking for a decent place to eat with little to no expectations, then go for it. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place especially to those who had high expectations from social media like me. I feel like a fool for even writing this review. But my naïveness should be a lesson learned to anyone who knows better. read more
