I truly enjoy this place. I have not been disappointed a single time yet and I have been a lot already. I can't wrap my head around some of the negative reviews. I am sooo happy a super yummy sushi place has opened here in Ripon because I gave the other place several chances and was so disappointed every time. So far everything has tasted fresh. I disagree with another review, the miso soup has plenty of flavor! The little side salad has great dressing. The little side salads are always very basic and it's all about the dressing. There's is very tasty and I order extra to put it over the top of rice. Try it, you can thank me later. Also i like their wasabi! It tastes very potent to me. Strong flavor and wasabi burn. I like a lot of wasabi. A little goes a long way here. Some places you have to use or mix a lot and this is not the case here. I enjoy and recommend the golden dragon roll, cherry crunch roll, red dragon roll, the sashimi and nigiri- especially the salmon and tuna. And of course the the soup, salad, spice tuna roll if you want to keep it simple. I've had other things like chicken katsu, lion king roll for the husband and other things I can't remember it all. I'll give this joint 3 stars because the flavor of the fish was decent and tasted good overall. However, the panko shrimp in my roll was nonexistent! Where the shrimp was supposed to be inside of the roll, was just a hollow roll of panko crumbs. It was way too crunchy and hard, almost like biting and chewing on candy rocks. In addition, I was charged extra for spicy Mayo on the side when most sushi joints bring it out complimentary. :( I'm overall disappointed with this place and will stick to Masumi in town. I just can't justify paying money for mediocre sushi when I don't eat it very often. read more

They are nice but the food is just bad. I tried several times to give them a chance. Both times the chicken teriyaki had so many inedible pieces that were rock hard and others that were still raw. As an appetizer, we had salt and pepper chicken. It was excellent. We highly recommend you give this restaurant a try. Need to mention the service, which was also great. The ambiance looks similar to the old restaurant, but that where it stops. The food is very, very good. I just read the reviews and cannot understand the negativity. This place is great. Seriously. We were the first customers here and the staff was very friendly. We started with the Mixed Tempura Appetizer. The shrimp was different than other tempura shrimp but very delicious. The vegetable tempura was large and flavorful. We took pictures and posted them on their Yelp. We sampled three sushi rolls called the CaterpillarRoll, the Chicken Teriyaki roll, and the Shrimp Lovers roll. All were fresh and tasty. My favorite was the Chicken Teriyaki roll. We ordered Mongolian Beef off the Chinese Special section of the menu and Spicy Teriyaki Chicken. Both came with delicious soup and salad. The miso soup was not as strong as I usually like but yummy. The salad was on par with all Japanese starter salads I have ever tasted. I highly recommend that everyone give them a try. The prices were reasonable. read more

We were craving sushi one night and decided to try the newest sushi spot in town. We ordered to-go, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! It doesn't replace our favorite sushi restaurant, but the food hit the spot. Yummy sushi is a wonderful restaurant. When they first opened, I thought that they were a little expensive but I gave it another chance and come to find out they had a new owner and they had dropped the prices. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed my meal. Since then I've been there several times and each time it does not disappoint. The food was horrible, low quality meat, my husband ordered brócoli beef and the meet had no flavor like it was boiled could not eat it we nicely told the waitress and she told the cook we started to hear yelling from the kitchen. We did not want anything else from there and we still paid for the plate he did not even touch. We should have known the place was pretty empty when we arrived. Hands down, the worst restaurant in Ripon and the surrounding area! No flavor in the miso soup, Ninja sushi, and the sauces that accompany the Age Dashi tofu and tempura have no flavor! Do I have Covid?!? Seriously, I don't and this place has no flavor. The maguro is flavorless, also. And what happened to the Mongolian Beef?! I love the Volcano Roll. Everything my family and I have had here is great, but the Volcano Roll is the go too. I often get it as a carryout and it is still "yummy" after getting it home.
