Over all - they did hit a ball, but definitely no home run. It's unlikely that I'll be back.

The atmosphere is okay visually, but it's packed with laptop workers and there's barely any space to sit and relax. People treat this place like a co-working space and give you stares if your kid makes any noise. It's a coffee shop, not a library or an office. And the tip screen before you even taste anything? Hard pass on that concept. I carry cash and I tip based on actual experience -- that's how it should work. Service was polite but dismissive when there was a real complaint. Probably won't be back.

It is as close as it gets to Japan from my view. It is small, and there are no signs indicating this place but its a gem. I go there when I get a little home sick (I'm Japanese American, but lived in Kantou Japan for 4 years as a teenager) The owner is always greeting people along with his Wife serving Sapporo drafts and some good sake and distilled Japanese "Sho-chu" Food is very close to Japan, though my only thing is that they are getting expensive. I can't blame them too much because everything and everywhere are just raising their price tag. Unlike few people I like to enjoy what we have here in NW as it comes. I don't expect to have authentic Japanese dishes nor services because I really believe that this is close to impossible. With that said this does take me to a nostalgic place in my mind! I so wanted to give more stars, but don't throw tomatoes at me... I just got back from teaching in Sapporo so I was desperate to relive my pub experiences there. Alas, it was not to be :( Not that the offerings were awful or anything, but the prices of Yuzu were a tad on the high side even by Sapporo City standards. The beef tongue, scallops and even the kimchi spring rolls were decent, middle of the road caliber. So what's a girl to do? When something is really, really yummy in a non-sweet, sour, bitter or salty way, Japanese uses the word "Umami" to describe the taste. Yuzu's menu is Umami. A little Beaverton secret. No signage, no banners, no "LOOK AT US!"; just a simple little 'yuzu' in spray paint print on the door. They are adorable, all the way from their chopstick rests to the kitchen utensils used by the chef to the servers. Every little detail is quaint + sweet. The whole team has a GREAT attitude. The favorite for this visit is the braised beef rub soup! Oh my gosh, the meat falls off the bone deliciousnes! Highly recommended. The tofu soup and the bibimbop along with the seafood pancake are all good as well. The interior of the space has wooden tables and chairs. I'm not too experienced with Korean food and often just stick to what I know at every Korean place I visit rather than branch out. That being said I've had the dolsot bimimbop, kimchi jjigae/stew, kimchi pajeon/pancake, seafood pancake, and various bulgogi and galbi and thought all of them were solid. Banchan was decent. None of them were bad on multiple visits but none of them were so amazing that it left an imprint either. This place is probably my favorite spot when I want a Korean meal and not just wings or kbbq.

There was plenty of daikon and glass noodles. The prices for the dishes were a bur pricey for the portions they give. I'd come back again to try their other dishes. Definitely gives you authentic koren food vibes with 3 ajummas working.

But the smokiness of the fried rice was solid but almost a bit too much... almost bitter... can't put a finger on it. Didn't hate it. Didn't love it. - wings were the highlight. Just perfect... moist, crunchy, savory all blended together making you wonder how they did it. I'd return for the wings. I'd eat the other items if they were in front of me... but I'd crave local Wok 'n' Guys renditions A LOT more.

It was all tossed with the noodles, inside a wok, so it came out nice and smoky. Only complaint about the dish was how lackluster the shrimp were in the dish. At that point, it would've been better off without it. The fries had a great crispiness to them with very familiar flavors, the chicken was juicy and had a nice crunch but was on the sweeter side, and the mandu was very watery and flavorless. As everything was pretty much self serve aside from them delivering the dishes, there isn't much to go off of service wise.

Unfortunately, our most recent visit was very different. Everything we ordered was extremely salty -- to the point where it was difficult to eat. We started with the pot stickers, which had a heavy coating of seasoning on the outside. It looked similar to Lawry's seasoning salt. When I mentioned it to our server, she explained that the coating is their house-made togarashi. I'm a big fan of togarashi, but this tasted quite different from what I'm used to. Rather than make a big deal of it, we decided to move on and looked forward to the ramen, which we've loved in the past. We both ordered our usual: the spicy miso ramen. Unfortunately, the broth was so salty that neither of us could finish it. It was really disappointing, especially since we've enjoyed this dish so much on previous visits. We mentioned this to our server because we genuinely wondered if something might have gone wrong in the kitchen that night. We explained that we're fans of the restaurant and that the ramen tasted much saltier than anything we had experienced there before. She assured us it was the same recipe they always use. I suggested that perhaps the seasoning blend used on the pot stickers might also have affected the ramen, but she didn't seem interested in passing the feedback along. When I asked if she might check with the kitchen or try the broth herself, she simply replied, "I'm good." Our bill came to about $75 with tip for pot stickers, two spicy miso ramens, a beer, and a Diet Coke. We truly hope this was just an off night, because we've really enjoyed Fat Kitty in the past. But based on this experience, we're not sure we'll be returning.
