Great pasta a generous portions, which could be a problem! It might induce a good coma.

I've ordered it out a couple of times on Postmates - it's been pretty good. I got the penne vodka and fettuccine Alfredo

Al Dente is one of those small neighborhood spots where the food feels much more ambitious than the…read morespace. The pasta is all handmade, and you can genuinely taste the difference in both quality and flavor. The noodles have that fresh, slightly chewy texture that packaged pasta just does not have, and everything tastes carefully made rather than mass produced. The bolognese is spectacular: deep, rich, meaty, and comforting without feeling overwhelmingly heavy. It is the kind of dish that makes you slow down because every bite is worth paying attention to. The salads are also surprisingly substantial. The chopped salad, in particular, is a generous portion and packed with flavor, so it feels like a real part of the meal instead of an afterthought. Save room for the tiramisu, which is very good: creamy, balanced, and a great finish after the richer pasta. The only downside is the ambiance. The interior is tiny, so when it gets busy it can feel hectic and cramped. Still, the service is amazing, friendly, attentive, and impressively efficient despite the limited space inside.

Luigi puts his heart into…read moreevery dish, making everything from scratch just like my grandmother used to--from fresh homemade pasta and rich, flavorful sauces to incredible focaccia and one of the best tiramisù I've had outside of Italy. Every pasta dish is cooked perfectly al dente, exactly as it should be, and so delicious that you'll already be planning your next visit before you've finished your meal. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail truly set this place apart. What makes the experience even more special is Luigi himself. He's always there, welcoming guests, making recommendations, and ensuring everyone feels at home. His passion, professionalism, and genuine hospitality are evident in every aspect of the restaurant. The outdoor seating is charming, they also offer catering for private events, and whether you're planning a romantic dinner, celebrating with friends, or simply craving real Italian food, you won't be disappointed. This hidden gem delivers a true Italian dining experience--no passport or plane ticket required. If you want to impress someone (or simply be impressed yourself), don't miss this place. Highly recommended!

Luckily our group had about 6-8 people so we were able to try quite a bit of the food. Glapponese - Ground pork, garlic, bacon, soy sauce for pasta. Very strong umami in this. It's for when you'd like a simple pasta with meat and nothing too overpowering. Tarako - Cod roe and nori. This is another simple pasta when you'd like something with a strong salty flavor but want to mostly enjoy the texture of the pasta, which was soft and chewy btw. If you want a familiar Japanese flavor, this is the one to order Carbonara - A very familiar pasta in case you want to stay on the safe side. They still make it very delicious and creamy if you're in a simple mood for an Italian style pasta Keema Curry - This is where you start going for a more complex taste for your pasta. If you can't decide if you want an Italian or Japanese pasta, combine the tastes with pasta in curry Service I feel can be a bit more attentive. When they sat 6 of us down first, there were only 5 settings, so it seemed pretty natural to bring us a sixth set of utensils. But when we realized they missed it, we ended asked them. Not a big deal. But when our remaining two friends came, they sat them with us and brought out only 1 set of utensils, so we had to ask for it again. Just a small detail that had me a bit confused during the experience, but the food itself was great and we'd love to come back when they reopen

Came Friday because I saw the "Happy Hour 3:30pm - 6:30pm" sign outside but when I went in I was…read moretold that happy hour is only from Sunday to Thursday. So why is the sign outside? I decided to stay anyway since I was waiting for my husband to finish at the tattoo parlor down the street (highly recommend). I knew I was only there for a few glasses of wine anyway. The first waiter/bartender was amazing, great attitude and fast service. He brought me water along with my drink and came around multiple times to check if everything was ok or needed anything else. He went on his meal break and a new waitress clocked in. That's when it went downhill. There was one other table other than me in the patio and she didn't get up once to check on us for over 30 minutes, too busy on her phone with her headphones in (see photo). My glass was empty and I noticed she looked up at me but because I was reading she pretended not to notice. I eventually waved her down. Wish I could give this place a higher rating due to the first waiter, but the waitress really brought it down. The food smelled amazing so I'm still willing to give them another shot.

We were the only ones in the place and still had to go find someone to bring us drinks. All I said was 4 waters (like we all would at any restaurant) and besides the rude behavior we got charged for water! I never asked for bottled water they just gave us some. WORST RESTAURANT I EVER BEEN TO. Food is at best a tad better than CPK. Go there instead and save yourself some money and go anywhere else and get treated better. Look at more reviews than mine. All are saying the same thing. Everyone is getting screwed at this place. Wish I read Yelp reviews before I went. Never going back.

You can taste the charcoal grill on the meat. BUT, when we're talking BIG DADDY HAWAIIAN food, and we order a LARGE PLATE, and receive what feels like a skimpy chipotle bowl for $30/plate. You're left thinking.. will I order from this place again? I am a petite-ish size asian with a normal appetite.. and when I think Hawaiian food, it intimidates me knowing how large their portion sizes are. Let alone the name BIG DADDY and Large Plate.. I was thinking I was getting a party platters worth of food. Instead, my Large Mixed Plate included maybe a scoop full of chicken (6-7 nugget sized bites), corn salad (which is basically just boiled corn, nothing salad about it), cabbage that filled the bottom of the bowl, AND they have the audacity to put the sauce IN the container which even lessened the amount already given. ANDDD to top it off an extra charge ($3/plate) for "STEAK" is a huge stretch for basically a small scoop of kbbq brisket. Flavor was there, portion sizes for $30/plate... yeah right...

The cabbage & slaw very tasty. You will see me or I will get this delivered again. What a treat. I appreciate this so much after a very long day. Comfort food is the best!

Jackson market as a whole in terms of ambiance, variety, taste definitely overtakes bay cities but if you're just talking about comparing food quality sand which to sand which it will be a tough TIE (it's not less) than bay cities. Bay cities is loaded and so is Jackson but bay cities is a little more juicier where the inside sandwich ingredients shine more and you can definitely taste each of the ingredients eg banana peppers meats deli cheese etc. Jackson market's Italian sub had harder bread but I could see like some would argue it's more balanced. It definitely is a little less juicy and even though there were complimentary banana peppers I hardly tasted it at all as it was sprinkled far and few. If you paid for an added topping eg. Jalepenos they were definitely generous with it. Tip: DO NOT get the French baguette toasted as it'll be too hard. The market is fun because it also offers wine selections ($20-$60), not a fun cheese selection like bay cities, pasta salad, bomb tiramisu, has an entire PIZZA OVEN in the back, fun canned drinks including GUAYABA (an aloe tasting like drink), pastries, and chips/snacks. Ambiance - the patio in the back is spacious and big. They don't allow you to bring a computer to work there and the WiFi and service is pretty bad there. Parking - street parking along residential homes 2 subs ($14.99/each), 2 drinks, 1 large chip ($4.95) came out to be around $44. Overall an amazing find. The 10/10 would come back & especially try the pizza. Revolutionary in food taste ? Probably not but revolutionary in enjoyability and spot find? 1000%. Happy munching !
