Stopped by somewhere close to this place and after decided to try it out for lunch since I was hungry. Ended up meeting the owners Alexis & Her Husband and didn't even know because they were so nice and humble. They ended up suggesting different things off the menu in which I took their advice and ordered the garlic stir fry w/shrimp since I'm a pescatarian & the shrimp wraps. My food came out really fast and I wasn't disappointed at all. Everything had the right flavor and was cooked to perfection. I just would want my stir fry to be a little more garlicky next time (I love garlic ). The portions were huge imo and I finished all of it because I had just finished my gym workout before. The place is super clean and I love the Artowrk on the walls and how nice it feels to sit and eat somewhere that's clean. I'll give them 5/5 's from the food, service & ambiance

Great food, great service, quick meal & amazing quality! The fast casual restaurant is quaint but super cute with their wall art and casual design.

You just get it from their fridge. I liked their beef larb. Level 4 was pretty spicy. We got it cooked. The Laos sausage was good but tasted like the ones you can buy yourself and cook. Their nam Khao had very good flavor. My only critique is that it could be even crispier and it would be perfect. Their Khao poon is okay not bad. I like my mother in laws better. Khao piek had good hearty broth flavor. Overall would come back if in the area! Their ambiance is a restaurant combined with a market you can get some pantry or frozen foods.

It's tucked away and attached to a small Lao grocery store, which honestly made it feel even more authentic. The moment we walked in, it felt like we were about to get a home-cooked meal. We ordered the organ soup with sticky rice, beef lahp, and nam khao, and everything was absolutely delicious. The broth in the organ soup was rich, clean, and deeply flavorful, exactly how it's supposed to taste. The sticky rice came out warm and perfectly chewy. The beef lahp was bright and herbaceous with the right amount of spice and lime, super fresh, and tasted just like what we've had in Laos/at family gatherings. And the nam khao was crispy, tangy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they don't cut corners on ingredients here. What I appreciated most is the authenticity. A lot of other reviewers mentioned that this is one of the few places in Texas where the food tastes "just like home," and I completely agree. Multiple people also mentioned the friendly staff and how the market side carries essentials and hard-to-find Lao/Thai items. We felt the same way, everyone was kind, and the grocery section is a nice bonus for anyone looking for snacks or specialty ingredients. Portions were solid, prices were fair, and the quality was amazing. This is exactly the kind of spot you hope to find when traveling. If you want real Lao food, skip the trendy places and come here instead. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Texas. Highly, highly recommend.

The establishment is actually a mini market offering spices, household necessities, grocery food items, etc. -- but you're able to order some traditional Lao or Thai dishes from the cashier. Everything I have tried here is definitely made-to-order. The papaya salad was done right and the spice level as requested was just enough to have my eyes water up. So thankful this family owned small business is sharing their love for homestyle Lao and Thai cooking in the Dallas community!

Does anyone in DFW shop or eat at Overseas Market in Dallas? See my comments below…read more I visited Overseas Market, On Sunday, January 11, 2026, I called in an order for pickup. I absolutely love Meat Larb and Papaya Salad, and I also picked up some small sticky rice and a container of cabbage pickle. I remember the gentleman at the counter quoted me around $42.00 for everything, which seemed right based on what I ordered. When I paid by card, I honestly didn't get a clear view of the amount on the terminal, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn't think to ask for a receipt at the time. I totally regret that now! It wasn't until I checked my bank statement a couple days later that I noticed a charge of $282.20 from Overseas Market. As you can imagine, I was pretty surprised, as it's quite a bit more than the $42.00 I was expecting. Spoke with the man by the phone he said I don't have a receipt and refused to work with me. At this point he left me no choice I got back online and did a partial dispute. This type of incident can happen to anyone so, please ask for a receipt and take time to look at it.

Updated review for a lunch experience here at Ly's. Things…read morehave changed so much! There is still still an entire wall of refrigerated goods. But the dining flow is smoother and the dining room is larger and more comfortable. They have sacrificed considerable shelf shopping, an entire row - I didn't see my favorite pho packaged broth mix - but I certainly appreciated all the new tables and chairs. You still order and pay up front. There are photos for everything you might want to order, but there is something that cannot really be conveyed. I believe that the heat levels are hotter than most places. They will warn you. Believe them. So I believed it, it was still HOT, and I had to laugh. I still enjoyed it all. So my Husband got his wish and ordered the garlicky Pork Riblets. They are marinated in garlic, fried in garlic, and topped with garlic. So very very good. He also had the Chicken Wings also deep into the garlic flavor and very tender. He shared with me. Thank goodness. So I shared the always crunchy and tasty pork egg rolls. Heaven. They came with their own sauce, but there's a table up by the kitchen with the Hoisin, Sriracha, and other sauces and of course there is a spice tray. My husband had their wonderful green curry and I, the Pad Kee Mao, which was very spicy even at a (2). I wasn't keen on the noodle texture or lack of sauce. I've had many versions of Drunken Noodles and I wanted to like this this one. I love this grocery and restaurant combination. It's aromatic and fun! The locals are here and I love that big picture menu out front. Ly Foods is a special place.

I ordered the basil fried rice (spice level 2) and the pork fried crispy rolls. The spice level 2 gave the rice a subtle kick - noticeable but not overwhelming - which is just the way I like it. The basil fried rice was packed with egg, bamboo shoots, baby corn, mushrooms, bell peppers, white onions, fresh basil, and garlic. The flavors were balanced, and the portion size was VERY generous - this was way more than single meal for me. The crispy pork rolls were also very good. They were filled with pork, green onions, glass noodles, carrots, white onions, and cabbage, and served with a thin sweet & sour sauce that complemented them nicely without being too heavy. Even though I ordered them as an appetizer, they arrived midway through my meal, so not the best timing. The fountain machine wasn't working, so drinks were $2.50 for a can of soda with no refills. That felt a bit steep for a canned drink. I count that as a downside of the visit. Overall, the food was flavorful and generously portioned. With small improvements on the drink situation and meal timing, it could easily be a 5-star experience.
