Service here is terrible. They force you into the self checkout just for their machines to hardly work and for the employees to be rude while helping you. Went there and had a horrible experience due to a female employee with some sort of black and blonde ponytail being so obnoxiously rude and asking me to take off the sensors myself when their machine is hardly user friendly. I told her I didn't know how to and she rudely states the instructions are clear on how to. Absolutely will not opt for self checkout again because it's actually inconvenient. I spoke to the manager Stephanie who claimed she would speak to her staff about it. I tried getting the rude employee's name but Stephanie refused to provide it as she said she wanted to take the blame. Please train your security guard how to interact with customers. The way he treated me today at the store for the beeping at the exit was just reprehensible. Where do I begin with Zara? 1 - Quality: I purchased a pair of pants only to have them rip down the seam a week later. When I brought them back to the store I was told that because I didn't have my receipt they could not verify when I purchased them. Regardless of purchase date, if your pants rip in half down the seam the store should reimburse. Lesson: keep your receipt because the quality is terrible. 2 - Customer Service: In addition to the above mentioned incident I recently (after close to two years of having not shopped at Zara following the ripped pants incident) made a small purchase at Zara. As I was checking out the sales person at the 5th and 53rd location asked me "You won't be wearing those items together right?" to which I responded "Actually yes I am planning to." I then proceeded to turn around and return the items. I don't need that attitude in my life. We all have an obligation not to buy crap and support businesses that are thoughtful about their employees, products and customers. This means not shopping at Zara. Bye! WORST WORKERS EVER. BEWARE. I used the self - service check out in the back by the dressing rooms and it wasn't working. Honestly such a great idea since the lines are always so long here. Anyway, my friend used the one next to me and neither machine would print a receipt or take the security tag off the merchandise. The girl working in the dressing room was about to get the receipts but told me since my transaction was over already I had to take it up to the register. I walked over to the register and asked a girl who was standing there doing nothing to take it off for me. She replied (with an attitude) "I'm not on the clock right now" and I said to her that it would take two seconds and she told me basically no. Then as I was waiting off to the side she literally pushed me/walked into me on purpose. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I walked back over to the side of the register where there were three people working and not ONE asked me what I needed. I was not waiting on line for them to take the security device off when I already paid for the jeans and should have been out of the store already. Finally a manager walked behind the register and I flagged her down to help me. I will never be returning to this store!!! read more

I am frequent buyer and generally like buying items from Zara, however, this location's customer service is very poor. They are "selective" on "who" should be even proper service. I don't want to play the race card but after several experience and dollars later, I have always felt if a person doesn't look like a particular way or shade, the experience is altered. Most visits I rarely receive eye contact or a greeting when approaching the cashier; It's horrible. but my counterparts are giving undivided attention. My experience today was quite ill as I pushed aside to allow another customer waiting online behind me to be cashed out before me. I'm going to return the items I bought because I shouldn't have to spend money where it's not appreciated. This makes me sad, frustrated and disappointed. Companies should not allow their staff to treat customers unworthy because of outer appearance. For my birthday I got a dress from Zara from a friend, without a gift receipt. I went to 4 different Zara stores to be told they no longer had this dress and the only thing they could do for me was exchange it for the same item since I did not have a gift receipt. At the 5th store I went to, they once again told me they no longer sold this dress and told me to call customer service. I called customer service, only to receive the WORST customer service I ever received by a MANAGER. She went on to tell me that there is nothing they could do since I did not have a gift receipt. However, I am not a rude person and would never ask someone who is giving me a gift to also provide me with a gift receipt in case I did not like the item or had to exchange it for a different size. This manager went on to tell me that I had no options since I didn't have the receipt. So now I am stuck with a dress I love but it is not in my size so I can't wear it, meaning I will have to just toss it away because they can't even give me store credit or provide me with any other options. This is the most ridiculous return policy. Every other store I buy clothes at, I can always return gifts for store credit or the same item. I was a loyal Zara customer for YEARS, yet NEVER again will I or anyone in my family step foot in this store. Thanks for the worst customer service experience ever!!!!! read more

Something must be terrebly wrong with the hiring manager here because they seem to hire only morons thank think they are better than customers. Not one of them were happy to serve their customers. I have been to many zaras in the country from LA to Las Vegas to Florida. But never had the kind of unsatisfactory service as I have here. This killed my need to ever go to any zara. It all started with the first step in the store. I had a drink in my hand and a guy literally jumped in front of me not letting me walk inside. For few seconds he just gave me a weird look and finally decided to tell me I cant bring a drink inside. That was incredibly embarasing...he seemed to not know how to approach anothet human being. After throwing my starbucks in the trash I walked in too look at things with my wife. Second person I talk to I asked if there was a restroom. This guy with a mohawk style cut just sighed at me and rollled his eyes to say no. I was amazed how rude this guy was. Lastly I asked another guy if they could look for a certain size. If I could give this place no stars I would. I had the worst customer service experience of my life at this location. So I get there searching for shoes, all the shoes are lined up against the wall, which was tacky but whatever. So I find these shoes I'm in love with but I didn't see my size, so I walk up to one of sales associates to ask her if they had my size this lady says "no I don't know... I don't think so... I doubt it" and I'm like can you check please and she tells me she had no way of checking and told me to go ask the cashier. First of all I used to work at Lacoste on 5th ave. If a customer needed anything we would go out our way to make sure they got the proper products or answers. I was beyond shocked by how dismissive she was it was just gross I wish I would've gotten her name. So I put the shoes back and found some other ones that were my size. I go to look for seats and the sales lady directs me to a window ledge. At that moment I wanted to die but I need the shoes for an interview so I couldn't just leave which I normally would've done. So I'm trying on shoes and the same sales lady who brought me to the space comes back to tell me and my friend to clean up after ourselves once we were done. Can you fucking believe that?!? I wasn't planning on just leaving it a mess in the first place! Every time I go in there the associates are not attentive and just have the worst attitudes. This Zara is horrible. The customer service is definitely lacking! I was not greeted when i entered the store and when i went to go pay the cashier never called next customer so I sat there waiting and then when she looked at me she said come over after 2 minutes of standing. Once i reaches the counter she never said hi how are you. I spent $90 dollars and i felt i shouldn't have. I want to spend my money where it deserves my business and this Zara didn't. This Zara location sucks. I went to try on/ exchange some shoes. The dressing room clerk wouldn't allow me to try on shoes in the dressing room. Which I've always done at zara. Instead she suggested I try it on in the corner behind the elevator on the second floor. TACKY!! Zara markets itself as being fashion forward, minimalist, and a bit upscale. Why do you want customers to try on shoes in the corners? GHETTO!! I also got followed around by the sales representative which I'm appalled at. I've never had that experience at Zara. TACKY!! This is the best Zara in the city as far as volume and selection, but their staff are the rudest and most entitled. I always feel like Zara employees think they're doing me a favor by talking to me -- even just taking my money at the register. Wake up - this is not Barney's. At this particular location, I once had to make a return without the original credit card, which had been stolen. The person at the register told me that was impossible; it could only be done with the original card. I said this was absurd and asked to speak to a manager, who was standing 3 people down and acknowledged her colleague, but took her time and made me wait with no apparent reason. She begrudgingly gave me a store credit, and said that she was making an exception because technically "store credit doesn't exist" at Zara. I tried calling Zara (666 5th Ave, New York, NY 10022 location) for a pair of shoes. Every time they "transferred" me, they would actually hang up and my cell phone would return to the home screen. I assumed it might've been a mistake the first time but ended up being rejected 4 more times. As a result I asked to speak to a manager and they apologized and told me they would handle the situation by putting the shoes on hold for me. I wanted to thank them and ask for their name but they immediately hung up on me before I could do so. An hour later I take the train and try to get to their location before having to catch a flight at JFK. Little to no surprise, there was never a pair of shoes on hold for me. I even double checked with the store if the phone number on my phone was their store number and they confirmed it was the same. I'm very dissatisfied with the way they handled both situations. I always try to be very patient and understanding but this is the worst customer service I've ever had with any clothing store, restaurant, or business. All I have to show for it is -$60 for the uber ride back to JFK airport. read more

Today, I called at 9:30am and she told me they weren't open and to call back at 10am. My mistake, fine. This store needs to overhaul their customer service especially when you requedt items from stock. Do not hand me a piece of clothing and expect me to purchase it when there is an obvious foundation stain. I showed it to the sales associare after she handed it to me and pretended not to notice the foundation mark on the white blouse. After I requested she pull the item from stock since they weren't any left on the floor, she handed me the blouse where there were a few snags on it. Again, I explained to her in a professional manner that I am unwilling to purchase a defective product. She called in to the stock room and explained that it would take 10 minutes. I hung around the area and when the stock associare came back with the blouse, she began to complain about me. I heard everythinh and when the stock associate looled at my direction and the sales associate as well, I stared both of them down. No word was said as she handed me the item, nor an apology. Obviously, they weren't trained in customer service but they wouldn't give a shit since they have customers who consistently return and shop. Definitely one of the better Zara branches in the city. Probably the most spacious and cleanest as well. I like the layout - lots of room and space to browse and move around - the escalators and staircase to the lower level is the same concept - spacious, clean, and comfortable to move around and shop. The associates here also seem to be nicer and more courteous than other branches. I didn't feel rushed out of the store near closing time and while trying on shoes - an associate let me know that there were couches in the back if I wanted to sit down and try on the shoes there. There also seems to be more sale selections here too. Overall - best experience at a Zara branch. read more

I love this Zara and the location. The store is beautiful as well. But the customer service... I have been on the phone (for the third time, after being hung up on once, and then left on the line for about 5 minutes) now it's my third time calling and it's been 8:10 minutes and counting. I bought a beautiful dress from Zara two weeks ago, it was a size medium and I need a size small. I used the app to scan the barcode a week ago, did a run around the city to look for this size and pretty much every store said "oh sorry. 666 5th has it". Well... That's where I went to first. The lady didn't even bother looking for it, she just told me she didn't think they would have it. Um okay. So I decided to just try again. I LOVE this Zara! So much selection (2nd floor is all Mens, 1st floor is Womens, Lower Level has Womens and Kids section) and so much room to walk. Unlike most Zara's in the city, this Zara is so spacious that even on a weekday afternoon during rush hour, I can pretty much do somersaults on the floor without taking anyone down. Also rarely have to wait on the line for the fitting room since there are two, one on each floor (a stark contrast to the Hell that is the 101 5th Ave fitting room line on a Saturday afternoon..). The past few times I've gone all of the workers are friendly and nice! Then again, with this location being in the hub of tourist/haughty city, I'm not the nightmare shopper that the employees are probably used to. I have been a fan of Zara ever since I found them back home in Georgia. I think their clothes are very modern and not too overly overpriced. Plus, they always seem to have a good sale going on! This location have three level. The second and bottom level is for women clothing...the bottom mostly for women clothing on sales. The third level is for men. Women seems to have a bigger selections and a lot more on sales than men. Overall...I wish the Zara back home was this huge! Will visit again when Im back in town. read more

Horrible service received in Zara. I am a frequent shopper, I shop at Zara quite frequently. Recently I bought a skirt and needed to exchange it because it was tight on me, I took the skirt back but forgot to take the receipt with me. The guy in the counter told me ,I could exchange it ,so I exchanged , but the skirt didn't fit me this time either. Their trial rooms are not open so that we can try and decide weather to buy or not. It's a waste of time going back and forth to exchange and try to fit in. Inspite of all the commute to and fro, they told me that I could make no return or exchange the item because I had once exchanged the item without receipt I carried all the receipts and I purchased the skirt on 2nd September at a full cost and today is the 9 th of September. Selection: they carry a lot of items that you can also find on the website, but sometimes newer ones aren't out on the floor yet, so if you are looking for something very new I'd recommend asking a sales associate. I managed to usually find at least one of my size, but in general, don't think XS is stocked very well. I also thought so many white blouses had makeup on the necklines, which was a bummer. The store space: large, beautiful, well maintained and organized - even on Labor Day weekend!! Women's sections are on the street and basement floors. Men's on the top floor. Sale section: small, located on the basement floor across from the dressing rooms. Didn't find much of interest there. Sales associates: saw a few sales associates who were ready to help, but never offered assistance on their own. I asked one associate to help me find two blouses and she was nice- she said they had to grab them from the back and if i was headed to the fitting room she'd find me there. She did, and I really appreciated that she kept her word on that. somehow, those types of situations rarely come to fruition. Overall: like the space, presentation, and selection here a lot. Prefer it way over the Soho location which is messy, disorganized and wayyyy smaller. read more
