I have actually never been in the restaurant but I live a about a couple miles away from it! They have delivery and we use that a lot! The food always comes on time and fresh. They have the freshest salads that come with their meals and I love that you can replace some entrees rice with salad or ask for a split. Very healthy option for dinner. The meats are all tender. We order delivery from them all the time when we have guests and everyone loves it. Prices are very reasonable as well. read more

My wife and I decided to try this new place in town one night and we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Beef Kebab Platter and my wife and I shared the Mediterranean fries and the Basmati rice. The beef was tender and of a higher quality than what is served at the Greek Village. We have since tried the Falafel and the Baba Ganoush both of which were well seasoned and delicious. The seating is reminiscent of a fast food joint but the food more than makes up for it. I am glad to see a new place open up in Closter. read more

This is new Persian Restuarant and the owner is first generation of Persian; therefore the food is kind of mixed Persian Turkish and American. This is a good place to go for gyros and the like. The place is clean, the staff is nice and friendly, food comes out super fast, and is pretty tasty. Here is a quick Tony run down: lamb gyro - good but a tad salty. But still good and this is my staple chicken kabob sandwich - my girlfriend loves this and this is her staple. It is not bad either. Food came quick and was served in styrofoam containers deli style. This is not a sit down bring your family to dinner place which is what Closter could definitely use more of. The wait staff were college kids who were very friendly. As for the food I had the Kubideh platter humus and green tea. Unfortunately I found the food I ordered lacking the delicious spices I have become accustomed to when eating food of this caliber so I probably won't return. I wouldn't say it is authentic Turkish food, someone said it was but I don't think this place is truly Turkish ...it seems like a mix of either Greek and some other middle eastern country food...Iranian maybe?...but it's not bad French fries are good too if you eat them hot I'll get once in a while when I crave middle eastern but when I crave Turkish, I wouldn't go here-just not quite right as Turkish food It's nice to have this option in the area read more

Zendiggi Kebab House is great. I walked in for the first time today and the interior is very clean and spacious. It has a high-end takeout feel: plain wood tables and stainless steel chairs, but I could imagine people spending time there as one would in a coffee shop. Wifi, too. It was about 1:30pm on a Thursday, and there were no signs of a lunch rush. There were only two couples sitting in the restaurant. The employee who took my order was about college-aged, I would say, and was extremely nice and personable. That made my experience that much better. The whole reason I wanted to go to Zendiggi is because I had Donor Kebabs (or shawarma, whichever you like to call it) in Europe a few years ago and have been trying for them in the states since. I would describe Donor Kebabs as a Turkish version of a Greek Gyro. I figured I could get some at Zendiggi, considering that they are called a "Kebab House," and they also featured gyros on their signage. However, they don't have shawarma at Zendiggi. Not a dealbreaker for me. I got a gyro instead, sandwich style. It was six dollars and some change. It was great! They loaded it up with a lot of lamb; a lot more than I would expect for six bucks (especially considering how much you could spend on a deli sandwich in the Closter area). Great gyro, full of lamb and veggies on a fresh pita. I'm not sure if it gets much better than that. They also have shish kebabs, their namesake. While I didn't order any, they looked very good behind the counter. If shish kebabs are your thing and you live in the area, then I would venture to say you would really like Zendiggi. Overalll, great place that I look forward to ordering from more often. read more

This is a clean and friendly restaurant. The menu selection is adequate but has the fast food feel - perhaps influenced by the setup. I had beef kabah and it was okay. It had "steamed" taste to it (vs. seared or grilled) for a medium raw order. The rice was perfectly cooked. You should not compare this to some of the more formal / served Mediterranean restaurants but a decent every day food for lunch or a quick dinner. read more

I just love this place. I almost always get the kubideh. It's excellent. Everything is well cooked and well seasoned. I recently tried the salmon kebab and it was some of the best salmon I've had. The salad is good, the rice is good, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, the staff are pleasant and helpful. So there's a handful of kebab places in Bergen County. Let me tell you what sets this place head and shoulders above the rest: the hot sauce. The. Hot. Sauce. House made. Flavorful, hot and tingly. I would put this on nearly anything. Easily one of my favorite restaurants to go to. I can honestly say without exaggeration that I have probably gone well over 50 times in the past year and a half and have NEVER received a bad meal. The food always comes out fresh and piping hot and the staff is absolutely superb. I generally find myself ordering a gyro sandwich or falafel platter with the shirazi salad replacing the regular salad portion of the platter. I have dabbled in the kebabs and enjoyed them as well, but I am, admittedly, a creature of habit and tend to stick to the two dishes I listed before. Babaganoush and the hummus are delicious and the fine folks at Zendiggi never skimp on pita either. That said, however, I highly recommend the Mediterranean fries as a great table appetizer-- just be careful though, they are always straight from the fryer and piping hot, but never greasy. I've been to this place twice: once to try a falafel and another time to try the "Kubideh & Chicken Combo." I did take-out both times, and the cashiers/hosts were friendly. From what I remember, the falafel was good overall, but the hummus was a little bland. The Kubideh & Chicken Combo was also tasty, but I'm not sure if I would get it again. The Kubideh tasted exactly like a burger, which threw me off. It was perfectly-cooked and delicious, but I was definitely expecting more of a steak kebab kinda texture/flavor. The chicken and accompanying rice weren't bad either, but like I was saying, the meal was kinda surprising/interesting. The sides were a bit skimpy: just a teeny plastic cup of Shirazi salad and a small (half, I think?) grilled tomato. If you're into the whole burger kebab thing, though, I'd say give this place a try. I mean, it tasted like a really good (long) burger. Edit (2/24/13): I've changed my 3 star review to a 4 star. Food was great, service was terrible. I've never left a review like this before because I am not one to complain much about service. As long as you are not rude and serve me my food, I'm good. We came in on Dec 31st for lunch and I was excited because I've heard so many good things about Zendiggi. At 2:45 pm, while we were sitting down talking, our waitress (blonde hair) rudely interrupted us saying that they were closing at 4 pm. There was no one waiting for our table. Of course we rushed out because we didn't want to be a nuisance, but really? How can you kick out a customer who has not willingly left yet when you still have over an hour until close? My company and I ordered a lot of food and to rush us out the moment we finish eating is absolutely terrible. This has never happened to me before. I've ordered delivery numerous times but was really disappointed today. The delivery took over an hour and they also forgot the hot sauce that I requested. To top it all off, I found a hair in the rice. I'm hesitant to order again after this experience. We ate here right after I got off from my flight and I resurrected. We started off with the fries with feta cheese and it was divine! The size is great for sharing and groups but is so good it could be finished alone (ehem). I got a chicken gyro and it was the best decision ever. The chicken has that grilled taste and very flavorful balanced with a rainbow of veggies and grains. My Uncle is a meat-eater through and through and he loved the meat and the veggies that came with it! There's also something for every diet so it's a great place for group lunch and dinner as nobody will feel left out. The place has friendly, accommodating staff. The establishment is clean. I've been wanting to try this place for years and finally stopped today for some takeout for lunch. I got a combo chicken kebab and falafel platter with rice and salad and it was delicious. The food is fresh and it came with a side of yogurt sauce and hummus. I also took a little container of their house made hot sauce - thank goodness for the yogurt to cool that hot sauce it's no joke! The falafel was some of the best I've ever had. Portion was very generous and it was about $13, great value. Definitely will be back. read more

Amazing place!! We ordered the Mediterranean Fries to start which was a good choice. The fries were perfectly cooked and the salty feta was a nice contrast. If you go here, you have to get these! We all ordered sandwiches as our main entrees, 2 of the chicken kebab sandwiches and 2 of the Kubideh Kebab sandwiches. I tried both and can't say that one is better than the other -- both are equally delicious. The meat was juicy and well seasoned and the pita was light and fluffy. My first visit to Zendiggi was more than great and I've been raving about this place to everyone. Great food and more importantly, great service. My first visit was with friends whom I haven't seen in more than 2 years so we had so much to catch up. The nice young man even served a pot of Jazmine tea and cookies on the house! I had a few take out orders, too. My recent visit experience wasn't so nice. My daughter recently returned from her deployment from Poland/Germany and visiting home for the first time in more than 14 months. I decided to take her back here with a friend whom she hasn't seen for a few years. Again, we had so much to catch up and didn't realize that almost 2 hours had gone by. To ruin our good times, the waitress approached us and basically said, it was time for us to leave. She wasn't nice from the beginning when we sat - just stared at us while looking through the menu - didn't recommend a dish - she had no interest in engaging a conversation with her customers. She wanted us to leave and spoke to us in a condescending tone which none of us appreciated. This was the first place where years ago, I tried my first falafel, and to this day it's still easily one of my all time favorites. My friends and I have been making this place a regular stop on our list of lunch/dinner places for years, and it never has been less than amazing. The various kebobs whether they be kibudeh or chicken are always really fresh and juicy. The rice is good, the salads are refreshing, and the tahini sauce is my favorite. I'm pretty obsessed with their lentil soup as well. The prices and portions are fantastic, and to top it off the staff is always helpful and friendly. A go to for delivery and pick up always. I have placed countless delivery and pick up orders each and every time the food and quality is excellent. More recently the delivery driver is always masked and wearing gloves. The hummus is awesome my son has been eating it since he was 8 months old. Been meaning to give Zendiggi a try for a long time. My wife and I had lunch today and we throughly enjoyed it. Clean and comfortable. Wonderful staff. Platters are HUGE. Order a half size unless you're REALLY hungry and want a lot to take home. Falafel was perfect and the gyro was the best I've ever eaten-- and I've eaten a lot of gyro. The Mediterranean Fries with crumbled feta were yummy and one order will easily satisfy 2-3 people. Salad was fresh and crisp. Can't wait to go back and try the kabobs. Why did we wait so long? So we moved to Closter in late 2013 and Zendiggi has become our go-to take out place. We've never had a bad meal. The various kebabs are marinated and grilled to perfection, resulting in the juiciest, most tender kebabs you'll ever have. All of them - chicken, lamb, beef, salmon - are just as good as each other. The falafel is spot on, not greasy at all. Their house made hot sauce has an incredible kick and, if you like what you get with your meal, you can buy it by the bottle. The chicken-lemon soup hits the spot in the winter. Everyone involved, the owner, his family and employees, are the nicest people and I enjoy discussing Persian food with them. The menu is somewhat limited, basically kebabs available as pita sandwiches or as platters. For platters you have a choice of all rice, all salad or 50-50 salad-rice combo. Keep an eye out for the daily specials - sometimes it's a fish dish, sometimes a stew - the gourmeh sabzi is out of this world with a lemony touch to it that makes it sublime. Zendiggi is not a fancy place and doesn't need to be. If you're looking for fine dining, you have the wrong place. But if you want the best Persian food and best kebabs in Bergen County, you have found paradise. It's so good we had them cater our Super Bowl party and there were no leftovers. read more
