Whatever you're into, they have it. We sat in the outside section & even tho it was just a little cold, the drinks warmed us up. We had LIT's and a malibu bay breeze, they were very well made and not as pricey as I thought. An LIT was $8!! We ordered chicken tenders and fries, they were very good. Unfortunately they do not have honey mustard which was kind of sad bc i love honey mustard but all's good, they had ranch and ketchup! The service was good too, there was always someone coming around picking up the empty cups. It was nice, we had a good time. I have a definite love/hate relationship with Zep Hall. I've been going to Zeppelin Hall, nestled in Downtown's Liberty Harbor development, since it (and Liberty Harbor) opened in July of '09. At the time, I was blown away: a German-style beer hall with dozens of brews on tap, served in massive litre glasses, and heaping plates of German food to match (delicious wursts, huge pretzels, fine burgers..) The novelty wore off pretty quick. The beer is still the real draw here: drafts range from American microbrews (Carton IPA and Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout are favourites) to old school Continentals (Pilsner Urqell) and, of course, a pretty sizable selection of German standbys (Spaten, Radeberger, Hofbräu, and the much-missed Schneider Aventinus) and prices are decent, consider the surroundings. The atmosphere can get downright claustrophobic, even in the outdoor beer garden. Much of the clientele are yuppies and frat boys. Portion size on the food has shrunk a bit in the past years, too. Pros: This Biergarten is located in an up and coming area of Jersey City. It's huge! There's an outdoor area during the warmer months which accommodates larger groups. They have a great selection of beer and German fare. Not sure how authentic it is, but my meal was yummy and satisfying. Cons: It's really loud and difficult to understand your company. Sometimes it takes a while for food to come out. Children are allowed outside. This is annoying since most of their parents don't watch them and the kids end up making a mess with rocks. Children should NOT be at a Bar! Period. Get a baby sitter. My fiance and his group of friends were asked to leave the establishment. Apparently they were getting too loud and exceeded the minority limit. (Sad, but true.) We recently wrapped up a wedding party at Zeppelin Hall and had an awesome time. The Hall is large and spacious with many big picnic tables throughout. They have lots of games and a huge jenga which is fun....they also had a DJ spinning a fun mix of music too. As you drinking away, we all reach that tipping point between buzzed and drunk which requires food to even out. They have really awesome food !!! some of the best french fries i've ever tasted and great onion rings and burgers too. The wings are good too as well as the German brats and kielbasa!! This is one of my fave biergartens to kick back and enjoy some great beer outdoors. I do have some faves in NYC which are superior in food yet always crowded every day of the week. Zeppelin Hall does the trick for me when I'm looking to grab a German beer and some pub grub with friends. The food is definitely all over the place..some really tasty, some just okay. The pretzel is oily and the fries are meh. The pretzel is saved by the trio of honey mustard, spicy German mustard, and cheese spread that accompanies it. The fries? Topped with bacon and bacon salt. Yep. We had to get in there in time for their bacon festival thing...I really enjoyed the cheese stuffed bacon sausage, and the "Bacon Bouquet" with sweet potato puffs and nutella? My friends and I went to check out Zeppelin Hall for my birthday. In terms of the exterior, I was not expecting to find a biergarten located in a modern, brightly lit high-rise. In fact, I had initially thought the space was a movie theater! However, once inside, I found several rooms that were much more inline with a German vibe. The large bars were sparsely staffed, but offered a wide array of common and craft beers. There was also a food window to order snacks, and we were lured into trying one of their large pretzels and some French fries. The pretzel had a dark crust from a rich egg wash and was good, but not great. The French fries were well-salted and seasoned, making for a much better selection. There was also a live band, which jazzed up the atmosphere. I had heard that the outside area was rather large and enjoyable, but it was sadly too cold to experience it.. Despite the biergarten in Hoboken having better food and being more upscale, this casual space was still very fun and more relaxed. I look forward to going back in the warmer months so that I could enjoy the patio as well. read more

Zeppelin Hall is one of my favorite hang out spots in Jersey City, especially during the summer. Parking isn't as abundant as before because there's a new building being constructed in the lot that took up plenty of valuable spots. If you're reluctant to drive to Zeppelin Hall, then have no fear, the Light Rail is here! I mean there, like right there, literally there's a stop right next to Zeppelin Hall. If you're lucky enough you can hear the train zip by behind the outside area as you're sharing a drink with friends. Speaking of the outside area, it's one of my favorite features of this establishment. Picture a high school cafeteria, only outside, with long wooden tables, and beer, lots of beer, with several bars within reach, with tvs, with no separate sections for cool kids, and nerdy kids, or weird kids, because at Zeppelin Hall, everyone is cool. Zeppelin Hall also offers some awesome food: wings, burgers, fries, mozzarella sticks, and all sorts of fried delicacies to hold you down while you're pounding on a brewski. .You can also order one of several large platters they have available to quell the hunger of your many friends. There are three separate rooms indoors, they all have easy access to the outdoor area. If you want to sit down by the bar to chow down and have a drink, your best bet is the first room you walk in to. In addition to several long wooden tables in that room, they have a fair sized bar that wraps around. I have seen babies at the bar, and I've seen small dogs in the outside area. You're never too young or furry to party. They have a wildly varied beer selection at Zeppelin Hall. Everything from Sam Adams to beers I can't even begin to pronounce. There's beer for everyone here, and there's also a beer for everyone. Unfortunately they don't have a wide selection of ciders, hopefully that will change in the near future. The bathrooms are located downstairs, and if you're wondering how tall you really are, there's a height measure poster just outside the bathroom entrance. This is how I finally ended the debate with my girlfriend as to who's taller.....I'm shorter. There are several large size televisions and projection screens located inside, so you'll have no trouble watching your team come from behind just to lose by a point in the end. Wurst sampler with brats, kielbasa and andouille provided two tasty but mediocre sausages and one excellent, the bratwurst. Weinschnitzel arrives completely unpounded and is a thick, grey chunk of sinewy meat that os breaded and fried hard. The german potato salad is oily. They were playing modern dance music but very few people were on the dance floor. It felt like it clashed with the decor. It wasn't full in there yet it was super loud somehow. I guess it was the acoustics? I felt like I was screaming and I couldn't hear my friends that well. The beers were obviously the best part. I didn't get to really try the food. To order food, you have to go up to a window and order. It took a long time, which was a bit weird. You came here to socialize, not stand waiting on food. There are definitely better biergartens elsewhere but it's an okay choice if you're nearby. read more

Recently, I was here for the USA vs Portugal game and to my surprise there was only one 42" screen tv outside in the patio area. I was also surprise to know there was only one bartender on the back end of the bar but most importantly I noticed this, rather than having beer specials, there was a slight increase even in the fries. Luckily I was surrounded by a cheerful and respectful crowd and as a matter of fact, with the few amount of times I have been here on busy nights, no such wrestling occurred between men or women. I do have a wish list: Adding TV's downstairs, where the bathrooms are, while you wait in line you can't the miss the GOAL!!! Adding more TV'S or a LARGE PROJECTOR screen outside. read more

They just redid the outdoor bar to include more seating around the whole bar (all sides) as well as created a nice large covering over it as well. They have probably about 40 different beers on tap at a time. My husband and his friends love the beer selections. Not being a craft beer lover myself, I can usually find 1 or 2 beers that I will drink. The happy hour is awesome! It runs from 4-7 pm weekdays and ALL liquor (beer, wine, hard alcohol) is half-price. I definitely recommend stopping by for happy hour. In the fall they have a great selection of Oktoberfest beers. The food is still pretty mediocre in my opinion. After reading all of the reviews raving about Pat LaFrieda burgers, we decided to order one. We ordered a Pat LaFrieda burger and a 1/4 pound hot dog. We ordered the burger medium and what we received was well done. Not cool Zeppelin Hall. You really need to learn how to cook a burger properly, especially since it's one of the most common items on your menu. The 1/4 hot dog was in actuality 2 small hot dogs on one giant pretzel bun. The bun was good, but I never would have ordered this for two "normal" hot dogs. They weren't too good either. Both items are served with french fries. These were alright. Our table got an order of the 3 smaller hot pretzels, and I must say, these were definitely an improvement over the previous pretzel which was just downright gross. I really liked the "newer" pretzel and would order it again. They have a parking lot on the other side of the light rail station with free parking during business hours. Very convenient (as is having the light rail station in their backyard). Overall, Zeppelin Hall is a fun place to hang out and great for happy hour. Definitely a nice and unique addition to the restaurant/bar scene in Jersey City. This spot is nestled in the Paulus Hook neighborhood of Jersey City, and you'd never think a place like this would fit here. But it does, and its amazing. First off, the place is MASSIVE. It's great during the summer and fall (Sunday Funday anyone?) with different games on all of the different TV's. They have two indoor rooms that are fairly large, and an outdoor space (with its own bar) with tons of long picnic table-esque tables for catching up with friends and making new ones. Food is OK. I'm not a huge fan of sausages and stuff, and I think that's their main dish. For us non-sausage eaters, there's your typical bar fare - burgers, chicken tenders etc. and salads etc. for those trying to be somewhat healthy. Beer is what you really come here for. They've got the normal offerings, but they also have an extensive imported beer collection. As much as I love the Allagash White, I also try at least one new beer (ask for a sample before you buy!) as they all have unique tastes. Stay away from the Cider though ... Also, if you're feeling bold, ask for the large when you order your beer. Call it your arms workout if you "forgot" to hit the gym today. All in all, love this spot. And its a stumble away from the LTR stop and maybe a 10 minute walk from the PATH for you non JC folks. read more

I liked that you can get craft beers, German craft beers, and some standards like Heineken; definitely a great selection. I also liked the vibe on a Friday night, it was a good atmosphere of people just hanging out with friends. Usually when I go out that is the kind of scene I'm looking for, but it can be hard to find on a Friday night. I've been in Jersey City for a few years now and finally just came to the beer garden this weekend. The place is huge and has multiple bar areas both inside and outside, and there's a few large screens for those interested in sports. I don't know much about beer myself but I've heard that they have a pretty good and wide selection. For this weekend I hoped to try a pumpkin ale but they didn't have it, they did have pear and apple cider that were both delicious. During the weekend they do a pig roast so today I tried some of the food as well. A group of us got a few items to share and also later got BBQ to share. The food is very reasonably priced and you get a lot of it too. The wings, jalapeno poppers, and pretzel were pretty standard. The frankfurter was big and on a salted bun. Had a really nice time here recently when I stopped by with my HoBo friends. It feels like a place that was maybe overrun completely when it first opened but has calmed down some since, but it was still hoppin' on a recent Saturday. With just a hint of spring warmth hitting North Jersey, there were several groups parking their bums on the outdoor benches. The nearby parking lot looks a bit abandoned and industrial, but it's a must for this part of town (designated driver, yo). Soon as we stepped inside, a genial Jersey dude who looked like a stunt triple for The Rock took our IDs and welcomes us in. The space is huge, dwarfing Radegast and most other NYC-based beer halls, and this is a huge advantage: you can feel communal without feeling crowded. There are 20-30 taps or so, with just about any beer your heart desires, with some bias toward German lagers and American craft beers (though I didn't see Weihenstephaner, but Franziskaner is nice too). It was easy to get to the bar every time, even accounting for the inevitable navigation around soused-up bar-side bros and beer nerds, though I can easily see it getting harder during peak weekend hours. The food was very decent (and about the prices you would expect). The obligatory weiners were good, but you can also opt for more creative items (check the menu). There can be a bit of a line buildup, but we got lucky and put our orders in within a minute. They give you buzzers so you can go back to your seat and keep chewing the fat with your chums while your grub gets the grill. Great place for groups and all kind of summer shenanigans, no doubt. 3 of us visited the Biergarten on Liberty View Dr. on Sunday (it was my first time). Instantly i saw this place would be awesome for a large group to have fun. Huge space with many many tables (in and outdoor). The beer selection is great!There is something for everyone. On to the food. We had Pretzels and cheddar bratwurst. I don't know if it's because i was drunk or what, but the bratwurst was SO GOOD!!! It had great snap to it and it was delicious with the cheddar oozing out of it. The Pretzels were good too. I was expecting a lot from this place... but I was slightly disappointed. The service is agonizingly slow for food. Expect 30 min waits for things as simple as chicken nuggets. I had to go up and ask about my food, and they were like, nope sorry, when clearly it would have taken them like all of 10 minutes to churn out chicken nuggets. Plus the food is pretty expensive, like over $10 for a German pretzel! Wow. My friend got the pretzel and that also took 30 minutes, with some prodding from him to get things going in the kitchen. The outdoor seating area is pretty nice. It's open, with lots of long benches to sit on, and you order food there. There were still tons of people when I left around 11pm, which is a good sign that people are willing to hang out for awhile even on weekdays. I had some Dunkel beer from tap, for like $6, but I was disappointed - It wasn't as sweet as I had hoped for it to be, and it wasn't even that cold! Warm beer is not good. The giant 1 Liter mugs seem like a good deal though, especially when it's happy hour and half off! Fix the food wait times, and make the beer cold, and this place is not bad. Great Biergarten in Jersey City! Zepplin Hall is humongous, the middle room is massive with huge screen TVs where they display all the sports events. Great selection of tap beers, including Ommegang. The pretzels are imported from Germany and delicious. My personal favorite food there is the tomato soup with the cheese pretzel(their take on a grilled cheese with soup). It also has an extensive parking lot and is walking distance from a light rail stop. As far as the food goes, the sausage sampler I had was pretty good and the fries were tasty as well. My pretzels were a bit too salty and greasy, but the cheese sauce (for extra) was quite yummy. The beer selection is extensive and the prices are $12 for 1L and $6-7 for a 0.5 L. Great for big groups to sit around, hang out and just relax. The space is huge, there are basically three large rooms and a huge outdoor space in the back that has firepits. Within each space there are bars, so in total there are four bars, so even on really really busy nights, you will be able to find a bartender to help you. All the tables are giant wooden picnic tables, so its very open and just great to hang. In the summer the outdoor space is great, winter the fire pits are nice but honestly its better to stay indoors. The beers can be served in large beer mugs, so just make sure to only order a huge beer only if you can drink it fast enough!!! So you don't end up drinking super warm beer. Beer selection is huge! Even if you don't like beer you will be able to find something that suits your tastes. When I do drink beer (very rare), I frequently drink one that tastes like fruit loops. But otherwise, I also enjoy the hard liquor options too. The food is great!! Pretzels are amazing, German food is amazing, most of the sausages are great! Although I always have a great time here just beware that you will be spending plenty! So its good to come and split things with your group and just drink a beer and enjoy the ambience. We have brought cards here before and just drank and played games, snacked on a pretzel and some other great dishes and just had a chill weekend. Would recommend! read more
