Okay, I had no idea they had a bottomless mimosas option here, I will definitely be coming back for that at some point, haha. Great ambiance, delicious food, and fast service, plus live music (only Thursday nights & Sundays for brunch), Zinc @ Shade in Manhattan Beach has it all! A five-star experience all around, I was pleasantly surprised from our friendly server (Jenna?) to Hugo, who playing live music while we were there. We didn't mention it, but it was actually a birthday brunch and it felt so perfect! I can't wait to come back here again and try the white pizza (apparently it's very popular), as well as many of the other delicious items they offer. Also, It's super convenient that there's a parking structure below that you can park at that's relatively cheap. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Value: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.75/5

Great brunch/lunch spot! I had reservations on a Sunday morning, and we were seated pretty fast. We were seated outside since the weather was nice and it was a cute vibe. My friend and I ordered the Crispy Tuna Rice and Zinc Burger. Both were delicious and packed with bold flavors. Overall, great place for brunch with friends!

The staff here is so amazing! They were so friendly and made sure we were enjoying our time (without being overbearing). We came for happy hour and had no regrets. It's just a good deal for a majority of the plates we got. We got the spicy tuna, the empanadas, the grilled pear and burrata, and the filet bites. We got the spicy tuna because everyone else around was. It was pretty average, I would say maybe skip it and get another app. The empanadas came out hot! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the portion of bread to meat was . The pear and burrata was refreshing and the perfect medium in between the filet bites and the empanadas. The filet bites were our favorite. We couldn't believe this was on the happy hour and if we didn't have the tuna, we would have ordered another! The restaurant had a live band that day and the weather was sunny and not cold too. Everything was essentially perfect

As much as I liked the vibes here and sitting in front of a fire, the food we had was surprisingly mid and rather overpriced for the quality and taste. We came for DineLA and only one other table was occupied - at dinnertime on a summer Friday. :( Yes, it's a hotel restaurant, but I checked reviews beforehand and had high hopes. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the meal. We tried the Steak Frites, Shrimp & Grits, and Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice - all pretty, but just did not taste as good as it should have. This was for DineLA, but these items are also on their regular menu. The sorbet and the NY cheesecake, though, were highlights. I would come back just to enjoy the sorbet in front of a fire. Service was a bit slow and we were left to ourselves for most of the meal, which was fine. Parking is available in a nearby garage, be sure to pay the meter.

Cute restaurant at a local hotel tucked away in the corner. Nice patio seating with light breeze. Pup friendly. Had the blackened fish tacos and Mexican Cesar salad with salmon. Delicious and fresh. Would definitely order again but also may many other good menu options Portion was filling and reasonable for cost.

The patio is a nice place for happy hour. Seating is available indoors next to the bar and hotel check-in desk. Lighting is on the dark side during the day. Kids can play in the outdoor mall's courtyard Convenient location downtown MB.

My girls and I went here for brunch and it was really good! I was able to get a reservation for 8 and we were sat right away. The service was great and the waiters constantly would check on us and make sure we were okay :) The food overall was excellent- my steak was perfectly medium rare and the eggs were not overcooked. Only thing is that parking is either street or paid parking. Otherwise, this is a great place to get brunch!

Great ambiance with covered patio and very dog friendly. They even brought some water for my pup without being asked. That was very appreciated! It's a great spot for a casual Sunday afternoon brunch or snack, which is what we did while walking the dog. The Brussels Sprouts and Goat Cheese pizza was kind of bland. Nothing too special. The fries were hot and fresh which was good. The front desk, runners and bussers were great. Our server was friendly, yet he was also the bartender and taking care of a large party inside. As a result, we were forgotten about and there were long stretches of time where nobody checked on us. We had to hunt him down to pay the bill. This isn't his fault per se, but management shouldn't have had him take our table on the far end of the patio if he was taking care of a large party inside.

Amazing Christmas morning meal. Service was also great and the workers were very accommodating to food allergies!

Butterfly was one of the highlights of our stay at The Shay…read more I stopped in for a light lunch on our first day and ordered the Atún Pacífico ceviche. It was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The watermelon aguachile was equally impressive, with bright, refreshing flavors that were perfect for a warm afternoon. Prices are what you'd expect for a rooftop hotel restaurant, but the quality and execution make it money well spent. The setting is what really makes Butterfly special. The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. He had already eaten elsewhere and had just sat down to visit with us, so it was an unfortunate way to say hello. The staff immediately apologized and brought out another order of potatoes, which was appreciated. Mistakes happen, and they handled it professionally without letting it overshadow an otherwise excellent meal. Overall, Butterfly serves high-quality food that is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented in a fantastic setting. Whether you're staying at The Shay or simply looking for a rooftop meal in Culver City, it's well worth a visit. 5 stars

For spending over $400 you would think to have a decent experience at the least. When we arrived, everyone was at the bar area watching the soccer game. Cool and not a problem but you shouldn't come off annoyed like I've bothered you while " watching the game." I told him I had a reservation. It didn't seem to matter at all. The pool was on the smaller side, but since there weren't a lot of people, it wasn't a problem. However, the water was murky. The cabana was a nice touch we rented it for two hours from 6p to 8p I don't think I could recommend this timeframe because it got too cold (on one of the hottest days of July) and we couldn't fully enjoy ourselves, had to get out of the murky water earlier than expected. It is a cute spot and has so much potential. Maybe it was good at one point and went downhill or someone just stopped caring. There were only two nice servers and that was the cabana server and the guy who brought out our food during lunch he had cute heart glasses. Other than that, everyone there was cold and offputting. Including the valet and the guy at the front desk, whom I asked where Butterfly was located, a question he seemed to be tired of hearing.

You can tell a lot of care goes into both the menu and the overall dining experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The aesthetic is modern, inviting, and perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. The outdoor patio adds to the ambiance and makes the whole experience feel even more special. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. I believe the owner was outside greeting guests as they arrived and made a point to thank and acknowledge everyone as they left. We were sitting in the bar area, and I think on the other side of the outdoor host area is more traditional restaurant seating, though I can't be sure. Jesse was our server and he was very kind and, by his own admission, new to the place. He worked hard to make things right for us. We started off with two glasses of happy hour pinot noir ($6) which were served very warm. When I inquired about it, he told us that they serve wine at "ambient temperature," but he would mention it to management. When it's over 80 outside, you should not be serving wine at that temp. He brought another glass in a little carafe on ice to try to remedy it, which was kind. I ordered a Watermelon Mojito on happy hour, with no agave ($10). It was fine. Other drinks our group ordered were a Lagunitas IPA ($8), a Pacifico ($8), and cold glasses of champagne (I asked before ordering to be certain; $12). As for the food, it was also ok, not bad, but fine. We shared the happy hour vegan Brussels Sprouts ($10)--no one is vegan, but that is how they come--the happy hour Margarita Flatbread ($10), the Lamb Bam sliders ($17 for two, add $6 for a 3rd), the Short and Saucy Tacos ($18 for 3) short rib tacos, and the Bone to be Wild ($18) for two large pieces of bone marrow with a few small toasted squares of bread. All of it was fine, in some cases a bit overpriced, especially off of happy hour. Many people seemed to love it, but our group was all of the opinion that it was fine. It's not a place we would rush back to.
