P & L looked over my car for about an hour and discovered the other company had damaged my oil pan drain plug. They replaced the drain plug and charged me $5.07. Yes, that is Five Dollars and Seven cents. (That includes tax.) There was also the time I bought bad gas and my car kept sputtering. They installed fuel injector cleaner (that time it cost me close to $9.) They have saved me a number of times. Like the time my car would not start when I was in Schaumburg. I refused to have anyone in Schaumburg look at my car, so I had it towed all the way to P & L. (It was just the battery, but the battery was so dead, my car would not even take a jump). P & L only fixes what is necessary, so I usually leave pleasantly surprised as to the cost of the repair. They provide a quote before making any major repairs and they always give the parts back. Except that one time my belt shredded so bad, it looked like string. I did not get the belt back. One thing for sure, they are honest!! If you decide to have them work on your car, call ahead and make an appointment and be prepared to leave the car there. They are a small operation. Sure if you have an emergency (and I have had a few), they will do their best to get you out the same day. I have also waited in their lobby a few times when they were changing the oil. They said no one can properly change your car's oil in a few minutes. An oil change is the time mechanics are suppose to give your car a quick check to make sure everything looks okay. I won't trust my car to anyone else.

Ease of appointment: I brought my car in to check on availability, cost and how long it would take to fix the car. Brad mentioned that the wait would be about 2 weeks or so. However, he called me to inform me that he can fix my car earlier so I was able to drop it off earlier than anticipated. Cost: Average cost, Brad worked with the insurance company of the person that rear-ended me. Overall: It took 2-3 days to fix my car and they also provided me with a car wash so it looked nice and clean. I appreciated how the owner used new parts for the inside of the bumper that was badly rusted. He negotiated the costs with the insurance company even though the insurance company told him to use a used part. It's nice to have a trustworthy person fixing your car and having them fix it well with new parts vs. old/used parts. I'd recommend getting your car detailed here and will be back if I happen to need it for my car or other cars in the future.

The owner had been raised in the business and had followed in his dad's footsteps. After talking with Brad, the owner, I felt he was the magician that could help me with my agonizing situation. And bottom line: He repaired my car to even better than it was previous to the accident within budget and on a timely basis. When I went back to pick up my finished vehicle he was outside my car touching up little dings that had sat there forever. I so highly recommend he and his shop not only because he did such a great job but connected on a very humanistic level and I feel I also made a new friend. 4.7 rating out of 5 is extraordinary because usually the ones who leave reviews are the unsatisfied customers. I thought it had run out of gas, so I added about a gallon before having it towed to DJ's. About 30 minutes later, they called and said the car was ready. When I asked what the problem was, they told me it had simply run completely out of gas. Because the tank was bone dry, one gallon wasn't enough to get it running again. Naturally, I asked what I owed them. Their answer? "The cost of a gallon of gas." That was it. They could have easily charged me for diagnostics, labor, or any number of things, but that's just not how they do business. They did the right thing because it's who they are.
