My favorite combo is Sashimi and White Fish Tempura. I love Zono Sushi. Happy hour is the best time to go. Everyone complaining about the service I totally understand. There seems to always only be one waitress and they run around like crazy. Not fair for the waitress. Hire more waitresses. Nonetheless they have always been nice and polite to me. I always would be waited on by an older lady, she's super nice but I think she's gone. This was my first time coming here and probably the last. The service was really slow . It wasn't even packed for them to be taking so long with a cup of water. They took forever bringing out the food. And to top it all off when I was paying the lady had the nerve to asked me if the service was okay I didn't want to be mean and I was just over being there so I said yeah but then she kept on going and said well why didn't you leave a tip I was like excuse me ? She then said or did you leave it at the table. I honesty didn't leave them anything .for that service that they provided you swear I would leave anything ! Our go to sushi spot in Burbank. Haven't had a bad experience yet. A couple things to note: 1) happy hour is the way to go here unless you want something very specific. The hand rolls are $3.99 each and are packed with fish. The spicy tuna and California rolls are $3.49 during happy hour. You cannot beat these prices, even grocery store (yuck) sushi is more expensive. 2) everything is made fresh. We liked to sit at the sushi bar and watch things being made. The chefs are not very conversational but pleasant. I like that their rice is lukewarm so it's a nice contrast with the fish. 3) sake is cheap during HH (see a theme here?). Both hot and cold are offered. 4) lunch and dinner bento boxes are great deals as well if you weren't feeling hand rolls or rolls. The salmon teriyaki is a full piece of salmon. The sashimi are thick slices of fresh fish. Can't really go wrong with the bento box (I guess unless you decided to make it tempura and cream cheese puffs as your entrees which would just be a ton of fried food). I suggest going with a warm entree and either sushi or sashimi. During COVID their prices are 50 cents more for each item for happy hour which is a little odd... but the chef and host were both wearing masks and gloves, and they pick up the phone consistently for take out orders so at least there's that. read more

The staff members are usually very friendly, the food doesn't take forever to arrive and the sushi is always fresh! I love to sushi hop and I always come back to this place! We just went here tonight. My boyfriend and I think it's the best sushi place ever! Well the atmosphere is not great- too bright and it could be cleaner, but the food is sooo good! We had Spicy tuna roll, Philadelphia roll, Z roll (spicy tuna with avocado), BSC roll (crab with baked scallop) and sake which he says is good. We didn't know it was Happy Hour so we were happily surprised. Large sake $7, all happy hour rolls are under $9. There was only one waitress and she was running around, but she did the best she could. This was an excellent place for some quick sushi! Right off the freeway and with ample parking in the structure during lunch time. I met my cousin here for lunch and they had a nice healthy portion for every item we ordered. The service was great, very attentive staff, my water never went below halfway. One thing I would suggest is that for the restrooms, is to get a changing table. I took off one star for that. As I searched through the many listings for sushi in Burbank I remembered seeing this place every time we would go to Hooters next door but we'd never been in before. Tonight was the night. We went for an early dinner at 5 cause the kids were hungry. I was a little suspect because there was only one table with customers but then my wife reminded me it was still early. I was curious about Zono because they had good reviews plus a decent happy hour menu that ran from 5-8pm. The food is really good. We didn't go too crazy with rolls but we did try the Red Mars (spicy tuna roll with tomato & onion on top) which was so delicious. The sushi tastes fresh and, for a meal where we normally spend $90-$100, we only spent $68. This was a very satisfying meal. I don't believe we need to look any place else for a new sushi place. I am adding a star for Zono Sushi. On my last visit (yesterday), I was still unpleasantly struck by the high prices for what you get, but the service was phenomenal! They appear to have re-trained their staff. Granted it wasn't that busy on Sunday afternoon, but there was always a waiter standing by the register watching all the guests. They would appear immediately if they noticed that you needed your drink re-filled or made eye contact indicating that you needed something. When that person moved away from the register, another waiter would stand in position to serve. It was pretty awesome. Also, they had a Saturday/Sunday lunch menu that was very reasonably priced. For $10.50, you get a choice of two entrees (about 10 choices including beef, chicken or salmon teriyaki, vegetable or shrimp tempura, sashimi, and sesame chicken). Plus, the meal comes with miso soup, a bowl of steamed rice, four small California rolls, two pieces of gyoza, two fried cream cheese puffs, and a salad. I have a pretty big appetite, but even I wasn't able to finish this meal. I'm looking forward to coming back one of these weekends. read more

So delicious! Ate here for years then stopped coming two years ago due to service and food quality going downhill but they are back!!! Service was very good and the food was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly. Firecracker appetizer is the best here. I can't come here without having it. Tempura is also amazing. Perfectly cooked and crispy. [after paying like 40$ a roll though] but i still love this little place. always go for power hour and order like 5 things of sake before 7 hahah i usually get the spicy TOFU taco.. its my own rendition of the tuna taco but with tofu.. its like a little crispy bottom with lots of yummy tofy n spicy chipotle mayonaisse and also covered in spicy homeade salso and avacado... they know us there so they always kind of hook it up but id still recommend it.. except they need to get new waiters and bring alisa and helen back.. they were the best. hot edename , good miso soup. the best shishito ive ever had hot sake and they never get mad when were loud and chattery with everyone around us.. which i like since im a fun tipsy girl :D read more

I like this place! I mean I really really like this place! One can only dream to have their very own sushi chef preparing fresh and delicious creations in front of your face. The ingredients are very fresh and flavorful. My favorite seat is at the bar and it was a treat to watch the sushi chefs create your meals with such ease and speed. If I picked something that calls for fish that was not fresh, the sushi chef would inform me. If you happen to have the same sushi chef, he's usually good in remembering what you liked from your past visits. Happy Hours are the best; sushi were half-priced that it includes miso soup and free dessert. Service was prompted and friendly. Prices are usually reasonable depending the cuts of fish you order. The sushi itself isn't bad at all, a good variety selection of different types of specialty rolls for you to try. This is her favorite sushi place, and I can see why! Everything we tried was fresh and expertly prepared by our friendly sushi chef, Masa. The hot hand towels and edamame offered right as you walk in are also a nice touch. We took full advantage of happy hour prices with spicy tuna roll at $3.95 and a crunch roll at $6.95. I also tried amber jack nigiri for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. The sauce that accompanied it was so good that I didn't need to add anything else. I can't believe it has taken me so long to write a review, but now that I am living on the East Coast, I think it is time to share my thoughts. Masa is the head Sushi Chef, and he really cares about the food he prepares and he enjoys getting to know the customer. The fish is usually very fresh (except Sundays) and the rolls are very flavorful. I never use soy sauce, because I think it kills the flavor of the handcrafted meal. Some of my favorites are: 1) Oyster Shooter 2) Z-Roll 3) Fresh Salmon (With Lemon) (Sushi) 4) Spanish Mackerel (Sushi) 5) Gyoza 6) Green Mussels 7) Seaweed Salad 8) Spicy Tuna Hand Roll 9) Lobster Roll The staff is always very polite and helpful.
