I've now been here a number of times as I am usually waiting for my dad's chemo therapy. Except this time, I had breakfast here along with iced mocha. I ordered the breakfast plate. Terrible decision. I had expected a huge plate with bacon and eggs. It didn't look at all like a breakfast plate. Should have a bagel with cream cheese instead. It's much cheaper too. If I need a breakfast item with the usual, I can either to over to the hospital or 300 wing where they have breakfast items from Hobee's and others. Likely the same in price or just a little expensive. However it would be worth it. For what I had this morning, it is a 2 star.

My go-to place for a quick breakfast or lunch while at Stanford. Workers try real hard to provide a decent meal at a fair value.

Temp & Time is one of the underrated matcha tea shops! When you drive on El Camino Real, it may be…read moreeasy to miss as there is a small entryway to the parking lot for Temp & Time. The inside has such a pretty aesthetic, with a few inside tables to How to order is with an iPad kiosk, so card payment only. The menu selection is nice and simple, offering matcha and hojicha options. There are also small desserts like cheesecakes, cake rolls whole or slice and tiramisu. This tea shop is nice to go to after work to relax and decompress for a bit. Items my coworker and I ordered- * Hojicha Strawberry Latte - light sweet, soy milk and less ice. Rating 5/5 * Hojicha Cake Roll slice. Rating 5/5 * Matcha Latte - light sweet, oat milk, less ice. Rating 5/5

Cute place that is tucked away behind Drunken Monk izakaya. I came here for a mommy daughter date…read moreday to indulge in some dessert and card games. Decor is cute but sleek, vibes are calm, bar seating by window and a few small tables with seats. Ordering is fast at the kiosk front desk which doesn't seem to have a cashier. Lots of tasty drink options with milk choices and customizable sweetness and ice level - much appreciated! Cakes were delicious and filled with freshly whipped cream. We had the hojicha and biscoff ones. Not incredibly busy - a lot of orders were takeout. Cons: A lot of things were out of stock by 1pm but maybe this is due to Mother's Day. Pricey but the items were high quality. Store is a small footprint with limited utilities (no WiFi, bathroom was temporarily out of order). Parking is very difficult- it's on el Camino so the cars are unforgiving if you're trying to parallel park, and the road parallel by a block is not much better. It has an alley and a very cramped space in the back for a lot. Expect to walk.

Maruwu Seicha's first location opened in Janatown SF, and I was so excited when they announced their second store in downtown Palo Alto - it's a dangerously close 15 minute drive for me. Maruwu has something for everyone - tea, latte's, cheese tarts, soft serve, gelato... so many options. It's been about 2 years since they've opened in Palo Alto, and lines are still out the door even on weekday evenings. Indoor seating is very limited as it's also a popular spot for people who like working from cafes so I'd recommend doing it grab-and-go rather than trying to do a catch up session here. Here's everything I've tried: - Cheese tarts: regular, matcha, taro - Latte: ube matcha - Soft serve: matcha, matcha & ube, matcha & hokkaido milk - Gelato: matcha no.3, matcha no.3 & hokkaido milk This place ain't cheap but so worth it. The cheese tarts definitely add up if you're buying multiple but they're so good - super creamy and flavorful, dont taste artificial at all. Personally I prefer eating them after they've been refrigerated, but some people like baking them so they are bit more gooey and melt in your mouth. Highly highly recommend if you're in the Palo Alto area!!

The food did take quite a while to come out though. $80+ after tip. My husband and I agreed that we are happy we tried it however we think we can get better brunch for the price point. I understand it's a little more expensive because of this area. our favorite thing was the French toast. If we do come back, I think we will get just the French toast and drinks.

The burrata with peaches was an easy choice. Crisp, toasted crostini slices paired beautifully with the silky, creamy burrata, while the peaches added a pleasant touch of tangy sweetness. Finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh microgreens, every bite was well balanced. The beet salad was just as good. Generous chunks of roasted beets were accompanied by grapefruit, shaved fennel, and creamy avocado, all tossed in a bright, refreshing vinaigrette. The tangy goat cheese tied everything together perfectly. As if that weren't enough, I also ordered the Basil Melt. Layered with organic heirloom tomatoes, fresh organic basil, creamy mozzarella, and thyme aioli on an Acme baguette, it delivered fresh, vibrant flavors in every bite. Simple ingredients done right. To finish, I treated myself to their affogato, topped with house-made whipped cream. Rich, creamy, and wonderfully indulgent, it was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The only miss for me was the almond croissant. While I appreciated the generous topping of toasted sliced almonds, the house-made almond filling didn't quite deliver the rich, buttery flavor I was hoping for. Service was warm and welcoming from start to finish. The staff happily helped photograph our party of four, which was a thoughtful touch that added to an already enjoyable brunch experience. Overall, this is a wonderful neighborhood café with excellent savory dishes, and fantastic coffee drinks.
