WOW . I'm shocked. Despite the low reviews, this spot actually satiated my "dirty authentic" Chinese food craving. BEST to LEAST BEST: 1) shrimp cheong fun $9.95 - SO delicious. The wrapper was a bit thicker but extremely soft and tender in its chewiness. Fresh shrimp. Four pieces was generous. Glad they accompanied it with the sweet savory soy sauce instead of just salty soy sauce. 2) mapo tofu ~$16 - this was more of the savory umami soy sauce light spice sauce as opposed to the chili oil sauce. This sauce was so addicting as it had that umami msg kick to it. 3) taro buns ~$6 - gave 4 pieces. Slightly more bun to filling ratio but the flavored taro buns were still deliciously starchy bread bland like. The inner filling felt like taro and not too artificial line which was good. 4) orange chicken ~$16 - mainly because of the savory umami orange chicken sauce... this dish was addicting to eat. However if you really analyzed it, the breading was kinda thicker and hard, not crispy and the chicken meat was very thin chewy and not juicy at all. 5) honey walnut shrimp - the fry in the shrimp was more of a baked breading as opposed to a golden crispy fry. The mayo dressing was alright. Not very well balanced. They added soggy wontons which was kind of nice addition to the regular candied pecans but they were just ok. It's still honey walnut shrimp and I still kinda enjoyed it. 6) the eggplants was a lifting disappointing. There was no garlic flavor to it and it was overly salty. I would not get this again. My partner and I ordered takeout from this restaurant on Sunday night. I've heard about this place before so wanted to give it a try. We called and ordered Cream Cheese Wontons, Orange Chicken with Steamed Rice, and Combination Chow Fun. Our total came out to about $45. The order was ready when we arrived about 15 minutes later. The restaurant was pretty small. There was no one dining in, but there were a couple others who ordered takeout. My partner and I took a couple bites of the food in the car to taste the food when it was most fresh. The wontons were great. No complaints. They tasted fresh out the fryer, extremely crispy, and had a good ratio. Unfortunately, the orange chicken was dry. I wasn't in love with the taste, but the portion size was nice. I had two filling meals out of the orange chicken and rice. My partner thought the Combination Chow Fun was alright but not the best. Overall, I didn't love this restaurant so I will not be visiting again. It would not be the first Chinese restaurant I would recommend. Parking: Free parking lot read more

The food here is pretty basic, and it's lacking. a lot of the usual Asian flavors and spices. The food is pretty one-dimensional however they give large portions and the price is really really good. If you just want a meal for a good deal this is definitely the spot for you. read more

This place has gone through so many incarnations and I've been loyal on and off for over the past 15 years but they've become progressively worst as far customer service and some cases certain food items! I had Ordered from them through Uber eats and they got my order wrong so I called the store to complain and the guy blamed it on the kitchen and then he just started yelling and screaming at me over the phone! I was in shock so of course I matched his energy because I was totally caught off guard! The employees there are absolutely evil! They have no respect for their customers so they're not interested in building relationships with their long time & loyal customers! They just want money and that behavior makes me question what goes on behind the scenes especially in the kitchen! I've had many disagreements with them over the past 15 years but they've crossed boundaries that should not have been crossed! I'm officially done with this place so I won't ever be ordering from the place again! I hope others will do the same because they don't deserve people's hard earned money! read more

I had pretty basic questions about the menu that the employee wasn't able to answer for whatever reason. We asked for our food spicy and it was a step below black peppercorn so I guess that got ignored Despite the fact that they said yes. As another reviewer wrote, very one dimensional flavor. I ordered the fried spring rolls with crab and shrimp. They were very small not much going on with that. Wasn't bad, but definitely not good. Maybe if you want like a seafood crouton. Lol. Lo mein tasted like a campfire, which was cool with me just wished there was more flavor besides that. Their beef and broccoli is always on point and every other dish I've had here has ALWAYS been fantastic. The wings appetizer and the sushi are particularly delicious too! One time I picked up an order and they gave me everything in a box because they had so many customers they ran out of bags. This place is seriously so good and is my goto spot for when I'm craving chinese. read more

It always stinks when the quality of a restaurant goes down. This review is long overdue because I've long struck 101 Asian Kitchen off of my list of places to go. But looking back at my reviews, I feel I have to update it. Simply said, I just don't think the food is good anymore. I could never put my finger on what exactly was going on that wasn't right -- maybe it's just the quality of the ingredients and the meats? I'm not sure. But one thing, I still think the pork egg rolls are bangers. Not as good as they used to be. But I'll still stop by once in a while to pick up a pair of egg rolls to pair with something I've ordered from elsewhere. read more

I ordered through uber eats for lunch and I was satisfied with my decision. I ordered the shrimp fried rice. The food was packed up good but it did take a while to get to me. They aren't stingy with the shrimp and the shrimps are bigger than most other places that have shrimp fried rice. I definitely recommend the shrimp fried rice I will have to try other menu items and then I will leave another review to let you all know what I think about it. read more

Solid Chinese food spot when you're in a pinch. The fried rice is probably the closest I've found to that classic NY-style Chinese takeout flavor, which is hard to come by around here. The egg rolls could definitely use a little more seasoning and vegetables like the New York egg rolls, these were a bit bland inside, but crispy on the outside. The orange chicken had a great flavor, perfect balance of sweet and tangy, but I will say it dries out pretty quickly, so it's definitely something you want to eat fresh. We got takeout, so I can't speak to the service or the ambiance inside, but for a quick and satisfying Chinese takeout fix, this place does the job. Not the absolute best I've ever had, but definitely reliable when you're craving that comfort food hit. read more

This is a very dishonest restaurant; they added tips without your permission. Please keep your receipt as a record if this happens to you. Jack, the name on the receipt, wasn't friendly when I placed an order to go in person. I ordered two items to go and didn't leave a tip. After two days, when I checked my bank statement, they added a dollar to the bill without my consent. It's a dollar, not too much, but it's the principle. It shows the true color of this restaurant. I felt disgusted by this type of behavior. I won't return even though I have been their customer for years. Bad job, Jack! read more

This is by far the best take out Asian food I have ever had, delivered or picked up its hot and fresh. Egg rolls are always fresh and crisp, I have tried so many entrees, my favorite is the sesame chicken, it's so flavorful and comes with rice, we always have an order of fried rice with chicken, and of course an order of pot stickers. I don't think you can eat in just a small pick up window in the Beverly location. The staff always helpful and friendly. read more

This spot is really the spot if you can speak Cantonese. I really love the community here they're all super friendly almost as if they work together as a family. The facilities are really clean too. Takeout only. Fabulous food! We ordered the broccoli chicken and the mapo tofu each with fried rice and macaroni salad. We received perfect portion sizes for those wanting a meal and leftovers for lunch the next day, and the prices were great. Everything was excellent quality! My partner was absolutely blown away by her mapo tofu and insists upon returning. Service was FAST too. Looks like we found a new go-to spot! read more

It's just like other reviews say, a nasty inedible overcooked mess of hard stringy low quality fried chicken turds. It's not a review of personal taste I'm not overly picky and I love Chinese food, but how are you going to sell someone food they literally can't eat?! I had to spit a lot of it out I couldn't chew through it, my Cutco knife was having trouble cutting through some of it. Not joking. Such a shame to throw out 85% of the meal and waste $20. I've been coming here for over 5 years. I even go so far as to drive all the way to the spot because they told me they prefer pick up to door dash and the fees associated. Awesome food, authentic flavors, average pricing, terrible in-person service and no dine-in option, but well worth the hurdles once you get home with the grub! Yum! read more

Full meal on Saturday - Orange chicken, bbq pork chow fun, pork egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, honey chicken wings, sautéed bok Choy. I'm all honesty, I was quite nervous about trying this place due to the reviews as well as the various types of cuisine they try to tackle. I tried the sesame chicken which was flavorful and not too heavy on the sauce, thankfully. I also sampled the pork egg rolls and the cream cheese wontons and was pleasantly surprised by both. The wontons seemed different from what I'm used to - I don't they use regular rice paper, but something that includes flour. Whatever it was, it was tasty! On the nights I'm craving Chinese food, I wouldn't mind revisiting this little to-go spot. read more

Finally found our take out Chinese spot! We ordered delivery from them on Christmas Eve, and when I called to make sure they were still accepting orders, it sounded understandably busy. But we placed our order online through their website for delivery. Usually when I get delivery at my apartment, I meet the driver in the lobby to save them the time and energy to go up to my floor that they typically aren't paid for, but since we ordered directly from the restaurant, I didn't know when they were arriving and they quickly brought it straight to our door! And it arrived faster than the estimated time! We got: vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken, vegetable spring rolls, and "egg flower soup." Everything was just what we wanted and still warm. Definitely needed some hot sauce, but good thing I had my own chili oil on hand. read more

This is a great place to try Japanese whiskey, they even have little lockers where regular patrons can store their expensive bottles they've bought for when they return, and you are welcome to grab an additional drink and chill in the space afterwards if you'd like. The chefs here were a lot more personable and fun with more of a bar vibe than a traditional omakase. Service was great, dedicated bartender was great, and though it's not the best sushi I've ever tasted, I would still bring someone back here for a unique experience. Sushi is standard, nothing super wow but good enough. The servers are all nice and service is good. One of the servers was so sweet to my son last time. She was patient when he worked up the courage to ask for some items and brought extra cucumbers for him to snack on. We sit on the patio since our kids get a little rowdy and messy.
