I realize this place is most famous and highly rated for its bagels and such. I stumbled in around 1PM for lunch and ordered a roast beef and swiss on sourdough (sliced is the only option) with all of their usual trimmings which include lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and sprouts (yay!). I think it had both mayo and mustard, but could have used more mayo on the bottom of the big pile of veggies. It was all fresh and tasty and my only complaint is that it was about 85% veggies with just three slices of roast beef--probably about three ounces. I think a sandwich should contain a big majority of the named ingredients. This is really a veggie sandwich with a few slices of beef and a slice of cheese. Not a good value at $14.00, but at least it includes chips or potato salad. I do appreciate their good health department inspection scores.

How much meat they give on a turkey egg and cheese bagel....

The good was the speed it came out, the bad was the egg and turkey ratio compared to the bagel. Not impressed.

If you are from New England/New York you will definitely love this spot. Prices are not the same as easy coast obviously but the atmosphere, and staff definitely make you feel at home. They have gluten free options but they do not prepare celiac friendly unless you ask. Cheese and egg on a plain bagel was $6 and their fancier bagel sandwiches are closer to $13. Really enjoyed the owners and the location is a bit tough to park if its busy but it's worth the walk I'll be coming back to try their other stuff

This place is a must whenever we are in the area or on the way to San Diego. Their bagels are super fresh and always taste amazing. I am obsessed with their everything bagel with their home made everything seasoning (not pictured). They even give you a generous side of the seasoning if you ask. I didn't eat all of mine last time and used the extra seasoning in some scrambled eggs and it was divine! The staff is so kind and man they are fast. The service is so fast I usually can't just bite into my bagel sandwich bc it's piping hot. My boyfriend loves their jalapeño bagels the most. Definitely don't skip out on this amazing hole in the wall.

10000/10 I want to come back here for breakfast and lunch every day I ordered the vegetarian - it's egg, cheese, onion, tomato, sprouts and avocado on your choice of bagel. I got Asiago cheese. SO GOOD. The service was quick and super friendly. I got half to go and they wrapped it up for me and put it in a bag. That's service! The inside isn't anything special, I like sitting outside but it's a small local place. If you want a bomb bagel come here!!

I love bagels! So anywhere I go overnight, I have to go to a bagel shop! Service was nice and super quick! The jalapeño bagels with cream cheese and lox were delicious! The egg and ham breakfast bagels were also delicious! They have plain coffee and that was pretty good too. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Clean place and relaxing.

Great fresh bagels. The staff are on top of your every request. Quite little shop on the Main Street. The egg , pastrami and cheese bagel is a meal on its own. I had on a jalapeño bagel. The wife had an open face Nova lox. The amount of lox is crazy. Any other bagel shop would charge extra for what this place put on hers. Nice friendly atmosphere. The selection of coffee is outstanding.

Have always driven past this place but finally decided to give it a try. The service was extremely fast and friendly, food was unbelievably fresh with high quality ingredients. You can tell this is a small "mom and pop" restaurant/ family owned and operated shop where everything is prepared with love and care. Also one of the best bagels I've had! Extremely soft and fluffy. Their bread game is on point! I couldn't go on about my day without leaving a good review. I will definitely becoming back!!Excited to try their subs next time.

Everything you want from a local bagel shop. Family vibes, personal and comfortable service, and an absolute DELICIOUS bagel sandwich? yes to all. I got the Lox on a plain bagel and the balance of everything was perfect. Not too much cream cheese, everything was assembled well so it stayed together, and I felt like I got a little bit of everything in every bite. Like any local food deli/shop, price of the bottled/canned drinks can be a bit high so bring your own if you want. Honestly, the price of the food is so reasonable, you're still getting a good deal! If you're in Oceanside/Carlsbad and are posed with the question: "Where should we go for food?" Check to see if 101 is open and head that way. Heads up, parking can be a bit of a pain.

Was looking for a breakfast sandwich in the area and stumbled upon 101 Bagels & Subs! My family and I walked in and were greeted with the smell of fresh bagels. Once it was our turn to order...the woman at the counter was very kind and accommodating to our requests. There was plenty of seating inside and outside of the shop. We opted to sit outside and the table/surrounding area was clean. Not to long after we sat down, our food was ready and WOW...it was delicious. We order two ham, cheese, and egg sandwiches on a plain and everything bagel. As well as a turkey, egg, and cheese sandwich on a jalapeño bagel. The bagels were soft and flavorful. I highly recommend them and will definitely go back when I am in the area! read more

Staff was very kind and patient. I got an Everything bagel California style and my husband got an egg bagel with cheese and egg. Food was good, but kind of bland. Definitely not the best bagels but pretty solid when compared to other places.! Everything was good, just could have used some more seasoning (which is saying something for an Everything bagel ). Our favorite place in Oceanside for Bagels! Family Owned and a locals favorite! We usually stop by Saturday mornings and service is always friendly and quick. Bagels are fresh and always tastes delicious. Our favorite is the combo,onion and plain bagel with the "house made cream cheese with chives". The also sell their house made cream cheese. Ambiance is ok and just a few blocks from the beach. read more

Nothing fancy here. This is all about the food. The ambiance is more hole in the wall and sometimes holes in the wall mean it's all about the food. I was heading through town to get on a long road trip. I wanted to find a spot where I could get a good breakfast spot. This place did not disappoint. It's not healthy food but it was good sustenance. The Egg and cheese bagel options are great. Good spot to stop at if you want a quick pick up and get breakfast to go for the road. I'll come here again for the same reason. read more

Not sure what happened to this place. Got 2 breakfast sandwiches which had cheap processed meat, premade soggy bacon, premade egg patties and premade avocado spread. My daughter took two bites and gave up. I am not one to write negative reviews but this was really bad. read more

This is a no-frills, come-for-great-and-fast breakfast spot and I'm here for it. It's a small shop but has plenty of seating, and the staff is fast and friendly. They have a plethora of bagels to choose from, and the bagel sandwiches are especially delicious. They also have coffee and other breakfast essentials, and the ambiance is pleasant and welcoming. Plus, they have WiFi so you can work for a bit whilst eating breakfast if you'd like. Such a cozy spot and definitely worth a visit! read more

Super cute family owned spot. Classic hole in the wall bagel place with basically any kind of bagel you could want! The man taking our order was on it and very welcoming! He had our order of 4 bagels out in a very timely manner and ready to go. We went around 8:30 on a Tuesday morning, I'm sure it's a bit busier on the weekend..but we had no trouble walking in, putting our order in and receiving our order like I mentioned before in every timely manner. Other than bagels they have sandwiches too! ...along with coffee, kombucha & cold brew on tap and a few fridges full of Togo items and drinks. The provide outdoor and indoor seating, we took ours to go. Would definitely recommend to someone that's looking for a quick and easy breakfast! read more

Hit the spot since did not get to catch them before closing last time I was in Oceanside some 2 years or so ago. Did not think about what to order ahead of time since just walking by when I remembered this was the highly rated bagels I didn't get to try before. Just chose the Reuben on the bagel, and shared it with wife. Maybe that wasn't the best choice to have on bagel with the sauerkraut kinda overpowering the sandwich. But even so, the bites of the bagel showed why the bagel is so highly rated. Excellent texture and the asiago cheese or whatever I chose had great flavor to it, the bagel had a very comforting happy feel/taste to it. Right after I got 1 of the 2 asiago cheese bagel for my sandwich, someone else came in and ordered the last one, I believe just with cream cheese maybe. I can see why. The bagel is so comfortingly good, I don't think it needs all the other flavors or a sandwich. If a sandwich, maybe something simpler like breakfast sandwich or the lox would be a better choice than reuben. I would love to try the bagels with just cream cheese next time, to really enjoy the goodness of the bagel itself! read more

I grew up on New Jersey bagels so not much holds up when ordering bagels. I have been trying and trying to find a bagel place in CA to enjoy a bagel with absolutely no luck (none whatsoever) until 101 Bagels. I'm not local to Oceanside but will absolutely go out of my way for when those bagel cravings hit. Service was quick and everyone was super friendly and helpful! Hot tip: go down half a block to Brown Cup cafe for an amazing latte to pair with these beyond yummy bagels! read more

I ordered the nova lox with everything bagel and the bagel was burnt. It sadly dulled all the flavors of the caper, tomatoes, and red onion. I just read from a previous review from 9 months ago that their bagel was burnt and I was hoping it wasn't for us but it still was. Bummed since I was craving for a good one and am on the hunt for the best nova lox bagel in North County. Don't think I will be coming back. read more

There was a small line when we arrived but it moved rather quickly. I ordered the everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese and avocado and a pineapple and banana smoothie. (I asked if there was any added sugar and was told no and I can confirm since I did not get a reaction.) The smoothie was worth it on this outing. My husband got the everything bagel with egg, cheese, & sausage and a vanilla nut coffee. When we arrived home, our bag was a bit greasy from the egg and cheese in the bagel. Good place to get a quick breakfast or lunch. Dining area has a lot of clutter with beverage machines that are out of order and surplus of Supplies, but tables and floor are clean. Can get busy, but service seemed quick. We got two breakfast sandwiches and a coffee. Good sandwiches, but not the best I've had. Might be better with a cream cheese option on the sandwiches to add more flavor. Overall cost was much cheaper than if we had chosen a sit down breakfast in the area. Nice thing was the two hour parking in front of the restaurant so we were able to walk down to the beach and back afterwards without having to move our car. We both agreed we would eat here again in the future. read more

Unfortunately the breakfast bagel I had was completely flavorless and did not have enough protein. I ordered the turkey, egg, and cheese with the everything bagel. There was far more bagel than anything else, the ingredients were not fresh and cut unevenly, so one half had way more egg than the other. The bagel was burnt. Nothing special about it, pretty unoriginal. Just being brutally honest. read more

The outdoor seating has an amazing view of the Oceanside beach and pier. The indoor seating is an open air concept with their coffee bar and bakery at the front and a closed kitchen in the back. The weight staff was very professional and courteous. Ours was especially attentive and took the time to tell us what some of the more popular dishes are at breakfast time. The food was delicious. Their coffee was delicious! I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were moist and surprisingly, very citrusy and slightly tart which was balanced with a few dollops of lemon curd that was on the plate. I also ordered a coffee cake, which I did not end up eating however, when I had it as a midnight snack later, it was delicious. It was so buttery, especially on top where the crumble was. It was the perfect blend of sweet and salty. My daughter ordered the Hawaiian style fried rice. We were pleasantly surprised that the spam on the plate is homemade spam and not the kind you get from the can. It definitely tasted a lot better than the kind you get from the can. Sidenote: I am a fan of the one you get on the can, however! The fried rice was fried with kimchi, pineapple, green onion, and toasted sesame oil. The plate came with a thin omelette on top. The portions are good, and if you are not too hungry, you can definitely share them. This place is also dog friendly, which I found to be great since I am the owner of a rat terrier. There were plenty of other customers with their furry friends chilling at their feet. In fact, the restaurant offers a pet menu with options like unsalted hamburger or unsalted and grilled chicken thigh. I am definitely going to go back when I'm in the area. The tortilla was overcooked and crunchy. I also had to wait 10 minutes for my burrito to cool down enough to edible levels. The "Italian sausage" advertised was hot dog. Literal hot dog. Ridiculous! I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that their seafood and sandwiches are better, but I'm never eating here again, so I guess I'll never know. +1 star for said benefit of the doubt. *Note: The prices advertised are not current. When I asked the cashier why the burrito was $3 more than advertised, she pointed to a tiny sticky note on the menu that was curved so far it was not immediately readable that stated, "Prices are subject to change." No explanation, just point.

These ingredients included: (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced pickles, and cucumbers with a spicy mustard). The price is $12.99. I also ordered the one Potato Salad. The price is $3.00. My beverage was the one Ginger Ale it was $3.99. For dessert I ordered one cheesecake the price is $5.99. My subtotal was $25.97. The Delivery Fee would have been $6.99 but since I have a Dash Pass Membership I was NOT charged a delivery fee on this online order. The Expanded Range Fee was $1.49. The Service Fee was $4.93 but it was reduced to $2.33. The Estimated Tax is $1.73. This Dasher Tip I had chosen for Armor was $6.00. My total bill was $32.52. My order arrived on time at 8 a. m. from Armor my Dasher Driver and he handed me my order. The Pastrami Sandwich on the white bread with all the healthy ingredients inside was very delicious and I love Pastrami it was piled high inside my sandwich. The Potato Salad was very good and it was a great combo with my deli. sandwich. The Ginger Ale was very refreshing and not too sweet for a soft drink. And for my dessert the one sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake was really flavorful and yummy! I ordered one piece of this sliced Cheesecake and the price is $5.99. I dd NOT receive this Cheesecake with my order. Instead, I received a (Substituted Item), it was this one package of this sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake and I was still charged the $5.99 almost $6.00 to my NFCU Visa Credit Card Account today. This substituted dessert the one package of the sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake doesn't cost $5.99. The same dessert item at Walmart only cost $1.24. There was (no Note) telling me that my Cheesecake which I had originally ordered was missing from my order and it was not available to me their new customer. There should be an explanation telling me their new customer in writing a (personal note) to me that this one Cheesecake was sold out or you need to update your Menu on your website, so your future customers will not have to go through this same issue that I had experienced today with my Door Dash online order. I had to sign into my Door Dash Account and I explained this issue to the Door Dash Delivery Company. I said there was a Missing Item from my order today but I had received a substituted dessert which was the one sliced Lemon Loaf Cake but it's a cheaper price than this Cheesecake for The $5.99. This Door Dash Company made me really satisfied and I was given a credit to my visa credit card account in the amount of $7.03. I can use this credit which will be applied to my next online order that I place on the Door Dash App. This Door Dash Delivery Service really cares about their loyal customers like myself in resolving my issue today. Door Dash gave me Excellent Customer Service today and as always. I also received really delicious deli. food for my lunch time meal.

From the moment I stepped into 101 Bagels and Subs, I knew I was in for a treat, and they absolutely delivered! This place is an experience tha leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. I literally drive an hour to come to this place and walk to the beach 5min away to eat it. Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff are genuinely friendly and efficient. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it makes every interaction a pleasure. Service is quick, even when they're busy, ensuring you get your delicious fix without a long wait. I absolutely love this bagel shop!! The owners are very friendly, the service is always great, the food is delicious, and to top it all off they have free wifi. There are tons of choices, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll make it for you fresh.I first decided to stop in because it's very conveniently located right outside the gate of Camp Pendleton, now I eat breakfast here every weekend, and very often a couple of times during the week.
