Small, but impressive. Exceptional service. Great food... really great food. I started with an unexpected appetizer- the Jewish Artichoke - fried crisp, with a tomato sauce of sorts. Really yummy crispy outer edges, but didn't love the fibrous center (they need to cut it out). I enjoyed the Lamb Sugo pasta (slow roasted delight). My neighbors had the halibut - pan seared perfection, and the foie gras meatball tagliatelle... both proclaimed excellence! They also gave a good wine selection and some interesting and tasty craft cocktails. The place came highly recommended and did not disappoint.
The food here is quite creative, unusual, and good, and I loved that!! You're started off with complimentary candied walnuts and olives in a spicy olive oil concoction. We got the 112 steak tartare, which is apparently what they're known for!! The bread was wayyy too crunchy for me (tho some ppl love that I'm sure), but the tartare itself was delicious!! The raw steak was marinated well, and had this creamy dressing with capers that paired well with the crispy onions. It was a few steps away from too many onions, but we didn't get there yet. ($23) The octopus with avocado puree, radish and mint salad portion was TINY, but the avocado itself was perfectly cooked, very tender, and just slightly crispy on the outside. ($19) The tajarin with green beans, corn, and talegio was my fav dish!!! I lovedddd the pasta, the subtle cheesy flavors, and the caramelized onions. I did get a whole bite of caramelized onions so it could've been better mixed. The tajarin is a hand made egg noodle, and I tend to like pasta that is past al dente so it was yummy for me!! ($24) Server was super friendly, gave us rly nice recs. Vibes were like an attempt to make slightly upscale food less stuffy and more casual.
The restaurant is huge. There's the bottom floor and second floor, but on the second floor there's another area for seating. We made reservations and there were plenty. We heard about their foie gras meat ball pasta and wanted to check it out. We came and I ordered a Smokey passion and boy oh boy, it was Smoky. It was good if you are looking at being slapped with smoke. I didn't mind it but my friend hated it. We proceeded to share their house beef tartare. I was not a fan, there was a weird taste to it that I was not able to pin down the flavor. It just threw me off. I'm still not sure what that weird taste was. Also the bread was pretty burnt, I felt they sent that bread to hell and took it half of it back. I ate around it but it was obviously not executed right. On to the foie gras pasta. Plenty of meatballs, pasta was pretty good. We both enjoyed it, however it took very long for it to come out. We sat there for like 30 minutes waiting for it. I had ordered another wine and drank almost all of it. The server did acknowledge the wait and apologized, which we appreciated. Overall, not something I would come back for due to the disappointing app and long wait for the one entree. It filled up super fast after we left. Popular place.
I've been coming to 112 Eatery since 2011, and it's a place tied to so many good memories. The Jewish-style artichoke and the duck are my go-to favorites and they never disappoint. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar, and even after all these years it's still a restaurant I genuinely enjoy revisiting.
112 came highly recommended and wow, I loved it! We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and were seated upstairs. The ambiance was so lovely and intimate. The tables are packed in close quarters, but everyone was very mindful of the space. For starters, we tried the frog legs - yum!! This was my first time trying frog legs and won't be my last based on this experience. For our mains, we had the Stringozzi with Lamb Sugo and the Nori Encrusted Bavette with Ponzu. The pasta was tasty and the lamb was well seasoned and marinated. The bavette was good, but not amazing. The service was perfect from beginning to end. Overall, this is now one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis!
The photos don't do justice to how good the food tasted. We sat at the bar, for a light dinner before a show at the Fine Line. Our server at the upstairs bar was attentive we split a salad (would order again) as well as the prawns and deep fried cauliflower. Everything tasty and worth repeating.
Our visit to Minneapolis was all too brief, so as usual we outlined two or three restaurants at which to dine. 112 Eatery foiled that plan. It was so good the first night we at there that we chose to return a second time. This is a small casual place, so tight in places that the service staff often need to dance and weave around one another to serve guests. I love these types of restaurants, as long as the food is good. And the food, and drinks, here are great! The cocktail menu is one of the most creative I've seen. How many times do we find aquafaba, cocchi rosa, mole and honey-chili syrup as ingredients? And the Brown Butter Bourbon may now be my favorite drink. So smooth! (I have to learn how make this.) And every plate we had was delicious. My wife loved the cauliflower fritters , she had them twice. And I thoroughly enjoyed both the lamb scottadito and especially the gnocchi with lobster and arrabbiata sauce (which I sadly forgot to photograph). We highly recommend 112 Eatery!
This was our first time at 112 and we really enjoyed it! If you go you must get the burrata toast and the cauliflower fritters. They were both amazing! They filled us up but we really enjoyed the rest of our food as well! I don't think we would get the vegetarian pasta again but everything else we would definitely reorder. The servers were very attentive and nice and always asked if you had any questions. The ambiance is very cozy, we were on the ground floor. There aren't a lot of tables downstairs but there is an upstairs too. The area could be tough with parking but we found a spot quickly on the side street! Definitely recommend!
Great service but it was our anniversary which we stated on the reservation and they didn't say or offer anything. The music was obnoxious. The steak was melt-in-your mouth! The burgers were amazing! The steak tartare was delicious. The frog legs weren't great. Chewier than what I'm used to. The octopus was SUPER tender but it was lightly grilled (not crispy on the outside like the past) and way too much lemon.
I couldn't be more impressed by 112 Eatery - every item we ordered was outstanding! In all honesty, we went here as other places were full but this should have been a first choice. Everything was amazing, our waitress was soooo helpful and attentive the entire time. Provided a thorough breakdown of the menu and was insight with the wine. We ordered the 112 Steak Tartare - this was insanely good. Their rendition was so very tasty. The octopus was another dish we ordered and I hope it never leaves the menu - the most perfect pairing of all ingredients, I would have ordered 3 more if I could. Amazing! We had the tagliatelle , stringozzi, and the gnocchi - all three were stellar. The gnocchi shined the brightest as the flavors were incredibly bold and the quantity of lobster was so generous. I highly recommend the gnocchi! The other pasta dishes did not lack in flavor or pizzaz at all - they were all so tasty and offered different avenues of flavor. I can not wait to come back here in the future! 112 Eatery is so special
My partner and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. Based on them having beef tartare and lamb on the menu, I knew why partner would love it. We started off with the 112 tartare. It was good but was missing something...not sure what. We also had the octopus which was amazing. I had the prime bavette for my entree. It also was delicious and just the right size. For dessert, we split the butterscotch budino and a brown butter bourbon. I would return just for the budino! The brown butter bourbon is very much bourbon with a hint of browned butter. I thought it was very good as well, but would probably just prefer the bourbon. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

I came here for a work dinner and there were 11 of us total. 112 Eatery did a great job of accommodating us by seating us in a private room, and allowing us to pre-order wine and appetizers. Our server was very attentive and never left a wine glass empty. All of our appetizers, entrées, and desserts were fabulous! Everything was very flavorful. For appetizers, you'll definitely want to get the country love with whipped butter- fresh bread with really good salted butter, what could be better?! For my entree I ordered the Nori Encrusted Sirloin with Ponzu. The char on the steak was perfection! My favorite side was the Pan-roasted salsify with lobster velouté. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, but the cream sauce over the root vegetable was so tasty! Don't skip dessert and definitely order the Tres leches cake. I was unsure how this would be- but it blew my mind! The Mocha mousse torte was my second favorite. If I lived close by, I would frequent this place often for a nice dinner or a romantic date! read more
Been wanting to try this place for awhile and decided to go for a birthday celebration. It was quite busy for a Thursday night dining so make sure you make a reservation. The atmosphere is casual, small, with a bar. They have 2 floors. The entrance is a bit not obvious lol. You walk in and there is no reception area but just stand next to the bar and someone will come greet you. For a $$$ restaurant, it definitely gave a different vibe. We were seated on the second floor where you have to go out and take the elevator upstairs. Enjoyed some complimentary almonds while our main dishes came out. Started with the recommended Khinkali dumpling. For $12, I'm not sure if it's worth it. You get 1 dumpling. The inside tasted like ground beef for taco lol. Basically to me it tasted like an overpriced beef taco dumpling. So not really recommended. 2/5 Tagliatelle with Foie Gras Meatballs: at first I thought just another meatball pasta dish. Wrong. The foie gras meatballs were soft and delicious. Can definitely taste the foie gras and the tagliatelle really went well with it. Favorite fish for the night. 5/5 Steak: fusion like sushi flavor. An interesting taste but it was good and soft. 4/5 Cauliflower fritter: soft batter on the outside. An interesting taste as well. I think it's an ok dish. 3/5. Overall it was a good experience. Service was great. The appetizer came out pretty fast but the main entree took a little while to come out. Was a little sad they didn't do anything special for birthdays except offered a free candle. I've been a 112 eatery fan for about 13 years, give or take. I only have two complaints. 1. The menu hasn't changed much in this long time span... then again, why fix it if isn't broken? 2. Parking (downtown street parking) is a bummer. It is what it is. Otherwise? 112 eatery remains one of my favorite steadfast and true fine dining restaurants in the twin cities. Most recently, we went for my little brother's birthday. As always, the service was phenomenal. You barely have to wait at all before food starts appearing in front of you. The atmosphere is romantic, with dim lighting, candles, etc., well, it wasn't romantic for us but you get the idea! My FAVORITE things to order: -Sweet Burrata Toast w/Walnut Pesto ($19): Bear in mind this dish is true to it's name: it is a bit sweet, but I think the saltiness of the pesto works perfectly with it. There's almost a bit of an orange marmalad-y flavor. That might sound a bit weird, but it's actually super yummy. And it's easily big enough for four people to share. -Lamb Scottadito w/Goat's Milk Yogurt ($19): We've been getting this one since the beginning! The meat is always cooked perfectly. I just wish they gave you more yogurt, haha. It comes with three pieces, but you can request a fourth. -Tagliatelle w/Foie Gras Meatballs ($29): The meatballs in the dish are so good they should be illegal. We LOVE them. This is another dish that we order 100% of the time. -Scallops w/Oyster Mushrooms ($31): We didn't get this last night since it only comes with two scallops (a bit of a crime), but it is definitely a winner and we often order it. The mushrooms are out of this world. -Blue Prawns w/Rooster Mayo ($21): Very good and I never regret getting them. That being said, if you skip any dishes on this list, I'd recommend it be this one. -Steak Tartare ($23): Got this for the first time last night and was surprised that I loved it. Definitely will order again! -Tres Leches ($13): If you eat one thing at 112 eatery -- and I'm not kidding -- let it be this cake. It was the FIRST tres leaches I ever had, and even all these years later, it remains the BEST one I've ever had. Creamy, delicious, big enough to share, with the best whipped frosting (kind of like marshmallow fluff), and topped with a piece of white chocolate... divine. I DO NOT ORDER: -Khinkali Dumpling ($12): I lived in the republic of Georgia for a month and LOVE khinkali... but these? They are not those. Not authentic at all... Sorry! -Pasteis de nata: These weren't bad, but if you've had these tarts in Portugal, 112's attempt will disappoint you. Chewy when they should be flaky. Always one of my favorite local eateries. I've never had a bad item on the menu. Everything is fresh and interesting, there's always some old favorites as well as some new things to try. My personal favorites are the cheeseburger, the fois gras meatball pasta and the lamb scottadito. I have never sat down in the bar, only upstairs. It is definitely a loud place to hang out as it's just one open room with tall ceilings. Service is usually good. read more

Must try: Khinkali Dumpling and Gnocchi with Lobster! Why: The baseball sized dumpling was big and shareable. Meaty inside full of flavor topped with dill for additional flavor. That white sauce went well, and after cutting the dumpling in half to share with my friend, we covered the meaty inside with the sauce. I really enjoyed the Gnocchi Lobster with the red Arrabbiata Sauce. Each bite melted in my mouth. I washed everything down with my a refreshing False Pattern Pale Ale. Notes: The bartender was awesome! We sat at the bar corner and he was super helpful providing his recommendations. He was friendly and chatted with us. He did forget to submit our dumpling order, and our entree came first so he gave us the dumpling on the house - great service! The hostess was also friendly. The restaurant was clean. The bathroom clean and spacious, and was fun walking through the kitchen to get to. Overall, superb dining experience! Lastly, we were able to find street parking conveniently around the corner. read more

112 is always a knockout- the ambiance is top notch, the wait staff is knowledgeable & attentive, & the food is spectacular every single time. We go for all our special occasions because we know we'll never be disappointed. The 112 steak tartare & burrata walnut toast are staples every trip. I like that a few menu items rotate, but some classics stick throughout like the stringozzi. Definitely make a reservation, it can book up fast. Parking also can be tricky so plan to get there 10 minutes early. read more
In town for a work event, this is a quaint place with a ton of charm and INCREDIBLE food! I have never experienced 5 star dining like we did tonight. There were 7 of us, we had a variety of dishes and everything was perfection. Every ingredient could be tasted and the each dish is handled with care and perfection. The burrata toast with walnut pesto is a must!!!! Our waitress was AMAZING. She was knowledgeable and made great suggestions. She was an expert with all the options including vegan. Came to 112 for dinner with out of town relatives. Food was great and portion sizes were perfect. I had the lobster gnocchi (pillowy, great chunks of meat, and crusty bread) and the others had the prosciutto halibut. As other reviews mentioned, it is a very small restaurant with no area to stand while waiting for your table. I highly recommend a reservation! Our service was meh after we did not order appetizers. Our server was slow to take meal order and wasn't around to ask how our meal was or if we wanted a second round of drinks. Overall will be back, there was other menu items I was interested in trying, but hopefully we don't have the same server read more

Super delicious meal! And so filling. Our server was a delight. Very cosy spot with intimate tables and laid back atmosphere. Very impressive meal overall. Burrata portioned out for diners so that we didn't have to fight with the cheese is an underrated thoughtful element. Bravo! read more

112 eatery has been on my list of places to try for awhile and now that I've tried it I'm upset I didn't come here sooner! My fiancé and I came here to celebrate our anniversary before a movie date. We were able to grab last minute reservations for an early dinner and were pleasantly surprised by our whole experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was quaint with 2 floors of seating and the service was impeccable. There wasn't a time that we waited more than 2 minutes for our waiter to check back in on us which we appreciated so much. We ordered the 112 steak tartare, the lamb meatball tagliatelle, and the pastales for dessert. Everything we ate was delicious with the bill ended up being pretty reasonable for such a fabulous time. We will definitely be coming back here soon to try the other items on the menu! read more
We always hit up this spot when we have a concert or an event downtown. Very cozy and homey with a the right amount of elegance. Service is always top notch. Every server knows the menu items inside and out. They have steered us in the right direction many times. Always order the bread!! And we now always get the dumpling. I used to come here for the burger. But now I order so many other things. This venu is consistently great. 10/10 recommend. read more
What a gem of a restaurant! Visited from out of town during a business trip. 112 was a repeat visit for my colleagues, and they did nothing but rave about it. Totally justified. The food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere...all top notch. Started off with cocktails, which were recommended by our server. Moved on to the menu right after and selected a bunch of plates to share. Steak tartar, octopus, the burger, tje halibut, and the gnocchi. All of these dishes were splendid! Who would have known that a basic dish like Gnocchi could be so fantastic. Highly recommend it! When I get back to Minneapolis, I will definitely be returning to the 112 Eatery. read more
We had a lovely experience here the other evening! We had came from a distillery that had less than satisfactory food options so we were excited to have some snacks that felt upscale and delicious and this more than satisfied. I wish I had caught our servers name but we had a server who was woman presenting with light hair who gave us great service and was very friendly throughout! We had a great booth spot in the bar area and thought the place was beautifully decorated. Volume was a bit loud because it was full but we didn't mind at all. They have great mocktail and cocktail options. My partner got a boozy drink and enjoyed it and because I was driving I got the envy me mocktail which had a great little zip of spice, I would definitely get it again, very fresh tasting and beautiful as well! They had a great variety of appetizers and mains available and we ended up getting a pasta with foie gras meatballs that was beautiful! We had an appetizer we enjoyed but the real star for us was the butterscotch budino for dessert which we paired with one of their recommended dessert liquors. Dessert was so amazing that we will definitely be coming back to try more! We spent around $100+ for the evening but it was well worth it for a nice date night. I would definitely recommend this place for couples who appreciate well made food and cocktails, such a fun night! read more

I went back to 112 Eatery over the weekend and the food quality held up to my last visit. I still think the stringozzi with lamb sugo is one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. My husband and I also tried the octopus which was fantastic - it was perfectly cooked and lightened up with the avocado purée and herbs. I highly recommend this dish! We also tried the sweet and sour crab salad and shrimp with rooster mayo, and they were both good. We agreed the crab salad needed some fat to cut through the zip of the dressing, but still very tasty. The restaurant itself was very busy with lots of diners and staff. The rooms were dimly lit and the decor was nice. Where this visit lacked was service. I will preface this by saying we were 5 minutes late to our reservation which is annoying, especially during peak weekend hours. The hostess was very kind, but our server was rude. We were rushed through the service unnecessarily. A few times he tried to clear plates that had food on them and glasses with wine still in them. There were open tables, so we didn't think this was necessary. Additionally, when we asked how he recommended we split out the dishes between two of us, he offered no help and walked away. He had no recommendations for dishes to try or wines he liked. It felt like we weren't welcome and was quite a difference from the last time I visited. read more

The food is outstanding, with incredible and sometimes really unique flavors that create bursts of joy for a discerning palette. It's been years since we had eaten here but tried it on a whim on a weeknight when we could get in. There's seating in the main level and upstairs. We were upstairs, where it has its own bar. Service (Arie?) was impeccable! Super knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being creepy, and made really great recommendations. Our favorite dish was the burrata....omg! read more

A solid spot for dinner! Make sure to make reservations even on a weekday cause this place gets packed. For starters, they give you this really good complimentary roasted pecans that's perfect as you munch away while reading the menu. My fave was the 112 beef tartare. The difference between this and the regular beef tartare that's listed on the menu is that this one is already "ready to eat" meaning you can just grab and spread. The other version on the menu apparently requires a bit more work since it's deconstructed but we opted for what sounded like the easier option with the 112. The stringozzi tastes like spaghetti with a thicker type of noodle. The scallops were alright but the mushrooms its came with got a little too salty for me towards the end. Was so excited to try this place! Had been closed for awhile during and after COVID but hadn't had chance to go just yet. We made a reservation a week or so out and had no troubles. Highly recommend a reservation and being on time! When we checked in a lady ahead of us was 25 mins late and they gave the reservation away, which I totally agree with. We got seated in the upstairs area which is small, intimate and cute. There's music playing but it's still quite noisy, however, not too noisy to be enjoyable. Service was slow to start and our drinks took forever which was part reason for my four star review. Food was quick though which I appreciated! Food ratings: -Burrata with walnut pesto: 10/10 - this was hands down my favorite of the evening. There's an orange marmalade on it so it's sweet, salty and savory. It's a lot on the bread and was a little heavy so just warning but it was immaculate! -Khinkali dumpling (spelling?): 8/10 - this surprised me with the meaty red inside. I thought it was going to be more creamy, cheesy like the outside but exact opposite. It had great mixes of flavor but thought it was just good -Parmesan Gnocchi: 8/10 - this was good but I was left wanting more. Super light, yet heavy dish being gnocchi but sauce is a brown butter with heavy parm. Being 112 is a sister restaurant to bar la grassa I was curious to see how this compared to their cauliflower orange gnocchi. After trying both, that still holds the trophy for me. -Bavette steak with ponzu: 6/10 - I really was not a fan of this dish. Meat was super super rare and almost undercooked to the point of ground beef. Was a little spicy but also salty and just struggled to eat the meat with it so raw -Stringozzi with lamb sugo: 10/10 - yum!!!! This dish was perfect. Pasta couldn't have been done better, light red sauce with the right balance of lamb chunks to pasta. This was my second favorite! Good portion size for dinner too. Overall experience was good and would return! Service was a bit slow but they worked to make up for it (comped a drink) and get it was a Saturday night. Nice food varieties and flavors, worth a try!! read more
I really enjoyed my meal at 112 Eatery! The restaurant itself has very simple, rustic decor, but the food speaks for itself. We ordered the Romaine salad, Crab Salad, Octopus, Pan-Fried Gnochhi, Tagliatelle with Foie Gras Meatballs, Nori-Crusted Bavette with Ponzu, and Cauliflower Fritters. I have to say that I enjoyed everything we ordered. The biggest standouts for me were the Octopus, Crab Salad, and Tagliatelle with Foie Gras Meatballs. The service was great! Our waitress provided more in-depth descriptions of some of the menu items with recommendations. The food came out in an appropriate amount of time, and our waitress checked in at good intervals. First, let's talk about the stringozzi. Never have we ever had pasta this good. Then let's talk about the halibut with butter and lemon mashed potatoes. What else even needs to be said about that. Let's move on to the bavette. It melted in your mouth. And the flavors exploded while it did. The apps did not disappoint either. The octopus was scrumptious. Especially the charred ends. Fried bread with prosciutto melted in your mouth and the burratta toast, forget about it. Mariana Grande, our waitress was the bomb. Do not think about where her to eat here, think about how many times you can eat here. read more
Stopped here for dinner while in town. Had reservations and walked in and grabbed our seat. Our table was in the back and our waitress was nice. But in terms of the food - it was a tough outing. Menu: I get that it's cool and hipster and upscale etc - but just a one line menu item with no explanation is silly. I find myself to be very traveled and I know a decent amount - but when your customer has to Google what things are - that's a problem. Even if in small letters under it says " Italian noodles * lamb in sauce" If it had done that way - I would have known that the cheese plate was just a blob of Brie? with burnt toast. If some one says what's a cheese plate - you think various cheeses right? Me too. It wasn't. Also got the steak tartare - I mean YIKES. It was chock full of garlic. To the point my nostrils were stinging. Badly. Waitress took it off bill without asking. My entree was the Italian noodles with slow cooked lamb sauce etc. This was great. Really tasty - perfect portion. But to me - this wasn't close to just ok. Would try again, but that is my honest review. read more

This place was magical! If you plan on coming here, you should definitely make a reservation beforehand because it will fill up fast once they open. Sweet Burrata Toast w/ Walnut Pesto: the bread was toasted and had a really good crunch to it. The pesto was light and tasty, I enjoyed the fact that the pesto didn't have a strong taste of basil, which allowed other flavors to shine. The mozzarella was very light and melted in my mouth. The best part of this dish was the orange marmalade, the subtle sweetness from it came through and enhanced the other ingredients in this dish. 112 Steak Tartare: this is a must get. If you're not open to trying raw meat, you're definitely missing out. This dish was creamy, smokey, and fresh. The bread was well toasted and created a beautiful base for the meat to sit on. The fried onion added beautiful flavors and a slight crunch to the meat once mixed. This is a MUST get! Tagliatelle w/ Foie Gras Meatballs: the tagliatelle was well cooked and has a nice soft chew. The sauce had a nice subtle meat flavor to it. As for the Foie Gras Meatballs, it was very soft and melted in my mouth. Overall, this dish was delicious and everything was well balanced. My only complaint is that the noodles underneath kind of clumped together, maybe if I had more butter or oil that would've prevented that from happening. The meatballs were delicious and soft, but I know they could've done more with the flavor profile of the overall dish. It was a good experience but I don't know if I'd get it again. Mole Mango Marg: was really good. I love that it wasn't too sweet, and the mole bitters made it memorable. It was simple and yet complex at the same time, while being different than your typical mango marg. As for atmosphere, it was very cozy and romantic. I love the decoration of the entire place, very simple but very well decorated at the same time. Maren was a phenomenal server. Extremely knowledgeable of the menu, very personable without being all up in your face annoying, very attentive, and overall made the experience special. read more

I ate here while on a work trip in Minneapolis and I still can't stop thinking about the halibut. It was simply amazing. Very good food if you're into fine dining. Great price for a fine dine date night. The only thing that I did not like at all was the space. You can barely get to some tables without bumping other people. Single lanes in between tables. read more

Absolutely awesome, great food, great service, great atmosphere. The Bavette is very tender and the sauce wasabi combo is perfect. It's back! Only change is bavette instead of sirloin- the bavette is a far more delicious cut
