I stopped by here after voting. The shop is tucked in the lovely historic downtown of Plano. It is very cute and has a decent amount of seating, both inside and out. The menu is succinct, so it's easy to make a decision quickly. The staff was courteous. The cardamom latte was delicious!! Toasty and brilliant. Gave me a layer of warmth against the autumn breeze. Counting the days until I can go back. :) read more

Holy hell! This place is such a gem! How did I not know of this?! Right down the street from where I get my hair done and decided to just check it out. The menu is insane. Starbucks who??? Absolutely LOVED it here. The coffee is strong and the space is dope! The lemon blueberry scone is fan-flipping-tastic!! I ordered a caramel iced coffee and was bouncing off the walls the rest of the day lol. This is the spot for a group meeting and/or coworking session (that is, if you get here before the rush, it can fill up pretty quickly). Plenty of couches/soft chairs/table spaces to utilize. It's located right at the center of Historic downtown Plano. Can't wait to come back! read more

My now fiancé brought me here for our second date when we started seeing each other. From my first visit to the last, I have felt so welcomed and served! The baristas have always been so friendly and kind! They take time to let me ask questions, hear my preferences, and offer recommendations. Last Friday (12/29), when I came to finish a book that I was reading, I asked about the winter seasonal drinks and the baristas suggested the Brown Butter Sage Latte. They both raved about it and one of them said it was their favorite drink. I decided to try it and it was truly delightful, like a cup of Christmas joy! It should be the signature drink of 1418. What amazes me is the camaraderie and dynamic of everyone who works there! They are a friends that are also teammates and are doing great things in their business. I'm glad to always have a great experience every time I go and very grateful that my fiancé decided to take me to one of her favorite coffee shop! read more

The perfect little coffee shop! Great aroma, amazing ambiance, strong coffee and sweet desserts!! Nestled in downtown Plano, this shop is the coolest! A mix of antique decor and comfy couches and beautiful flowers everywhere. I loved the exposed brick wall and original ceiling. Maybe my all time favorite coffee shop. They have some of the best coffee in the area, (if not the best? They are recently challenged by the surge of absolutely incredible Middle Eastern coffee places cropping up in Plano.) The pies and other pastries are delicious. The baristas are always wonderful. It's to die for inside, literally the perfect coffee shop ambiance, the idealized stuff of romance novels and meet cutes in movies. It's just so cozy and way too cute. The matcha is a waste of time and the sandwiches don't really do it for me but it's a perfect place to me. I'll never stop coming back. I love their seasonal menus. They had a spicy cappuccino in their fall menu I obsessively ordered that I still dream about. This last winter they had a rose Turkish delight latte that was INCREDIBLE. Great concept but too many couches. Single people sit in the middle of the couch claiming the entire zone and there was No where for us to sit.... Coffee and staff good. Patrons are just rude. Needs more single chairs and less couches for this coffee house to function. read more

I love a good cup of coffee, and this place definitely delivers. I also love that they have a super cozy environment with plenty of couches, tables, and chairs. They offer pastries and cookies as well. I don't think I've ever been to this coffee shop when it was empty, which shows how good the coffee is--and the staff is great too. 1418 does it right! They have one of the best vibes of all the coffee shops in the area with friendly & quick service. The signature lattes are delicious, but the cold brew is the best around! Even better that you can take home a full growler for a great price! Keep in mind that you must buy their growler and bring it back each time as they won't accept any growler, but it's still worth the price and the visit. I also love that you can grab delicious breakfast tacos from the place next door on the weekends. read more

The coziest cutest coffee shop. The workers are super nice and helpful with any questions you have regarding the menu. I love their chai latte and any specialty drinks are bound to be a hit. They also serve breakfast tacos, sandwiches, and Emporium Pies here! The space has a lot of chairs and couches, with a section of high top chairs if you need outlets to work. Not good a large group of people, but if you want to be productive or cozy up with a good book by yourself or with a friend, this is the place! read more

The coffee is good but I genuinely don't feel like the employees work efficiently, or they're just understaffed. I waited in life for almost 30 minutes which resulted in me just ordering my stuff online. I highly recommend them hiring more people. Also the ambiance is great without a doubt the short staff just ruins the experience a bit :/ I just got my order. I ordered coffee from the wrong location but they were extremely polite and made it at this one so 5 stars for customer service. The wait time is still insane. read more

I love the laid back and hipster atmosphere this coffee shop gives! If you're looking for a quiet place to study/work, I'm not sure if I'd recommend this place as it was lively with people talking when I walked in. But it'd be the perfect place to grab a delicious cup of coffee and catch up with a friend. Their purple haze was sweet and flavorful. It's a latte mixed with vanilla and lavender. I'm here to say that the multi berry tart here is one of the BEST BAKED GOODS I'VE EVER HAD. It was soooo delicious and tender! What a treat. Besides that, my wife dropped me off here as a surprise during our staycation and I picked up their seasonal ginger cardamom latte and the multiberry tart. Definitely a great funky vibe here that I didn't expect from downtown Plano. I also loved that they stock Tacodeli (out of stock by my 9:30a visit) and they get weekly deliveries from Emporium pies, which is quite far away from this location. They have sandwiches too, great for the work-from-coffeeshop crowd. I was not a fan that their signature drinks were only listed by name on the in-store menu without any ingredients explained. Fourteen eighteen is plenty cool without pulling stunts like that. So all in all, check the menu online before you come to get the fullest picture of what's on offer. read more

I've been trying out coffee shops near the dart rail stations. And I have been to this place a few times. Just a brief walk from the Downtown Plano station. It is always full Of life, I LOVE it. I judge a coffee shop by their house drip. The subtle fruity notes danced on my tongue every sip. . Very consistent super friendly service. The location is perfect for the young hip crowd. Come and converse with a friend while sipping on a cup o Joe. They have a broad selection of treats and goodies as well. Lots of vegan and all natural options. I highly recommend. Hubby and I stopped here a few weeks ago and we're very impressed. The food and beverages are top notch and an added bonus is the live music on the weekends. We got a latte, hot chocolate, breakfast burritos served from next door and the biggest and most delicious slice of apple pie. Recommend you ask the staff to warm the pie as it is served cold. It has been more than 5 years since I left a review so I will update it! Pretty and quaint cafe in the heart of plano downtown. Service 5/5 Friendly and courteous staffs. Despite alot of visitors, they keep it running at a good pace. 2 gender neutral bathrooms, plenty of seating, and kudos to always serving emporium pies withtl their awesome coffee Atmosphere 5/5 Vintage (so loving), cozy, perfect afternoon coffee spot in the Fall. Nice dark vibes and a decent variety of chairs. Saturday is def busy for sure, so I took it togo. But if you show up at a slower time and want to study it can be a decent place to study. I had their special Purple Haze ( lavander sub oatmilk) Large for $7 after tax before tip. And it was decent. I for sure taste the lavander, the coffee was good too but sliiightly not up to par with what I remembered from last time. They use good beans and its a fun location with a variety of good options to check out after you grab coffee :) read more

This place was not what I was expecting to find in Plano, Texas. I have a Brooklyn, New York background from college and I instantaneously felt like I was transported upon walking into this coffee house. The interior, the customers, and the menu all make this place an experience that is bursting with art and inspiration. There was live music being played, there are cozy couches and coffee tables, and you can tell that the staff has their customer's satisfaction at heart. I watched a barista create a beautiful design in what looked like a cappuccino or latte. They also have a special menu that has interesting drinks, with hot and cold options. My favorite thing about this place as a visitor was being able to double dip at this particular location. They sell Emporium Pies here, which was another bookmark on my Yelp while I was visiting Dallas. I was able to order several slices ( Smooth Operator, Drunken Nut, Lord of the Pies and Drop Dead Gordgeous). I wanted to try the Dr. Love red velvet, but they were out. I came to this place 3 times in my week in Dallas and will return! read more

Cozy, great service, cool atmosphere, and the tea/smoothie was solid. Came in here when things were cold outside (38 degrees) and stepped in for some hot tea. Wife had a knee injury and we needed some place to sit. Despite being quite busy, we managed to find a pair of seats together and enjoy our drinks while taking in the environment. Service was hospitable and friendly. Not to mention, very quick. They made Starbucks looks slow! If I'm in Downtown Plano and looking for tea or a smoothie a nice pit stop, I'll definitely come here again. Wish I could eat their sweets! read more

It's a treat-my-self to grab a toasted chocolate croissant and iced Mexican Mocha, but it's closer to a dessert than a wake-up cup of coffee. Think Dutch bros, if you've been. Inside is nice, too! I've only ever stopped in to catch up with friends, but it's usually fairly quiet and large tables, couches, and bench style seating lend themselves to getting some work done. As for the menu, I have tried (nearly) every iced favorite and can say the Mexican Mocha and Caramel Truffle are the best, but again, it depends on what you're in the mood for. The staff is always super kind, and if you've got a fluffy friend with you in the car, they also do pup cups!! Not to mention, their rewards system is nice, if you find yourself coming back for more :)

I like sweet iced coffee and asked the barista for recommendations and ultimately I went with the Betsy Ross just because it was something different, personally it wasn't for me just because the blackberry was throwing me off, but it was definitely kept me caffeinated all day.
