It's OK but because it's so close to the entrance of Bar Harbor town itself, practically everyone stops here for breakfast. I think that it's also mentioned on practically every blog and vlog out there on Bar Harbor as one of the best places to eat for breakfast and offers the famous Lobster Eggs Benedict on a homemade biscuit. This place was packed and thankfully I didn't have to wait too long for a table and once I got one, I was able to place my order and receive it relatively quickly. I had the famous Lobster Eggs Benny and yes, it was indeed very good and worth trying in Bar Harbor. Waiters were rushed but service is friendly but I do think it is a tad overpriced for what you get. They have a huge patio and long running balcony which winds around the building if you want to eat outside. They also have a muffin counter so if you want to take some baked goods on the go, you can also do that too. They are not open all day and I think they close at 2 or 3pm. read more

Went into this restaurant with low expectations, and boy did this restaurant exceed them. I was a little disappointed at first because the table was small and it wasn't the cleanest place I have been to. I am glad to say though that the food made up for that. The orange juice tasted amazing and it tasted very fresh. For my main meal I got the egg sandwich on a Kaiser roll, and it was the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. This is going to be about as honest of a review as they come. My girlfriend and I were in Bar Harbor and searched for the best breakfast places to go. 2 Cats came up at the top of the list. Immediately after being seated our server began giving us attitude. No water refills, no substitutions (I mean I can't sub a plain bagel for toast? Seriously?), and lackluster service altogether. Maybe it was a bad day for her? Who knows. I got the omelet with hash browns which was absolutely terrible. The potatoes were seasoned terribly and I had a hard time swallowing my food. My girlfriend got the bagel and lox which she seemed to enjoy, but that must have been a fluke. Everyone around me seemed to hate the restaurant, as well. I came here a few minutes after it opened, which I suggest because it seemed to fill up very fast. The restaurant seems to be in a renovated house, giving it a warm and cozy atmosphere. My server was very friendly and courteous. I ordered the Lobster Benedict. You get a very generous amount of lobster chunks in this dish. The eggs were poached perfectly. I really liked how they had the little charred bits of potatoes with the side, adding some subtle texture and flavor to it. This was one of the best meals I had during my short stay in Bar Harbor. We found this adorable place by accident -when we looked it up online, we thought it was simply a little cafe for a bed and breakfast, but we were wrong! The hostess greeted us with a smile and when I asked if we could be sat away from children because it was our 25th anniversary, she was not only too happy to oblige, but she blessed us and said such sweet things. The menu reminds diners that the food is fresh and made with love to order, so please be patient, but it was early and we didn't have to wait at all. The next day we came back around 8:30am and there was no wait at all and we were sat right away! We were immediately given coffee which was appreciated as it was still early and our first cup of the day. Our waitress took our order and we then waited for our food. It was a little bit of a wait for the food around 20 minutes but when it did come out it was worth the wait. The blueberry pancakes were deliscous and they put a generous helping of blueberry's in them. My boyfriend enjoyed his eggs and home fries and said the biscuit was the best he ever had especially paired with the strawberry butter. My husband had a beef hash and scrambled eggs, which came out cold and disgusting; he asked to change a dish, and the rude lady host that even didn't say sorry asked if he wanted to work on any part of it. Of course no! Cod hash is horrible. So she took it back to the kitchen, where they microwaved it ( including the strawberry on a plate). The hash got even more dry and nasty; moreover, it lacked seasoning and bland, same good to the eggs, tasteless and rubbery. Huge disappointment; I guess it was ready in the first 5 minutes and then waiting for the next 25. My recommendation is to get something from the special menu, and I think it will be done correctly. It's got a fun vibe and atmosphere and is a cool place to simply just hang out and look around. Food: We got a blueberry pancake because, Maine. It was good. I didn't think it was amazing. But we ate the whole thing. I got the lobster Benedict, which was very good but I wished there had been more hollandaise and I found the biscuit it was served on to be really dense and thick. I wound up eating the stuff off the top of the second half and leaving the biscuit on the plate. My husband ordered a lobster omelette, which he seemed to like. Coffee was good and fresh-squeezed orange juice was as advertised. Service: Hideous, and the reason this review is not 4 or 5 stars. The gentleman who served us was friendly enough but really provided terrible service. We were never offered a coffee refill. We had to ask repeatedly for water. He completely forgot that we ordered orange juice and when we inquired about it, he declared, "Oh, they're just sitting over here!" So like, he totally forgot and did not seem to care about it. And then finally, someone (not sure if it was our server or the kitchen to be fair) completely messed up our order. So my food and the blueberry pancake came out, along with another dish that was not at all what my husband ordered. They figured it out, but by the time they had the kitchen make his omelette, I was almost done with my food, etc etc. It just kind of ruined the pacing of the meal and resulted in one of those awkward situations when one of us is scarfing down delicious breakfast and the other person gets to watch. In the end, we wound up putting down cash and walking out (something we NEVER do) because our waiter ignored our credit card on the table for about 10 minutes and we decided we were done waiting for him to do things for us.
