Terribly disappointed with 25 Degrees. I was expecting this place to blow Father's Office out of the park, but it did not even compare. Came here on a friday night and welcomed by a friendly staff. Sat down and browsed the menu to realize that there was a similar burger to FO, the Number 1 burger - bacon, carmalized onions, arugala, gorgonzola and thousand island. My friend ordered the Number 2 burger. It came with a side, so I ordered the sweet potato fries and he ordered the onion rings. The meat of the burger was very very bland, but the toppings were alright. With such heavy/salt toppings, you would think that the burger would be fine if it was bland, but it was not since the there was a lot of meat to cover. Sweet Potato fries were also not seasoned and came with no dipping sauce (like FO). It was literally fried sweet potato. Come on guys, add some salt at least. The onion rings were decent, but just looked too oily for my liking. It was crispy and you could take the onions. For our milkshake experience, we ordered the Guinness Milkshake and the Banana Fosters Milkshake. Guinness Milkshake had a subtle hint of the Guinness and was mostly milk and chocolate, which I actually liked. Banana Fosters Milkshake literally tasted like medicine. The alcohol in this milkshake did NOT mix well with the banana and milk. It was actually the most disgusting thing I tasted in a while. Not worth a trip to come here. It was pricey and wasn't worth all the hype. Rather spend time/money eating somewhere else with decent burgers and fries. read more

Open 24x7 it's a pretty good burger. At first I thought the meat to bun ratio was too high, but as soon as you take a bite it settles down. The quality of the ingredients is pretty high. From the type of meat used to the bun it is though and though a very good burger. The onion rings though are pitch perfect. They are crunchy, lightly battered, well seasoned, with soft centers. The fries are fresh and lightly seasoned. They have sweet potato fries as well. Here I think the regular fries taste better than the sweet potato version. The shakes are also quite good. I generally have a cocktail over at the Library Bar, but I tried the shake here once just to give it a go and it is very solid. read more

Talk about a mouthwatering experience, an indulgence that takes you to Pluto and back. Look this is LA and of course in LA there is no such thing as your average burger n shake joint. This is a great burger. It's everything that The Counter should be, but isn't. You can go basic or high end - your call. What really makes it is the bread. It brioch-ish and really lets the ingredients come through. I went in the middle of the day, so it was pretty quiet. But my guess is that it gets pretty rockin' later in the day since it's attached to the Roosevelt. Great fries, but I'd eat them fast. After they cool off, the texture gets a bit doughy. read more

To be honest, I used to love this place. I went almost weekly when this place first opened and all the waiters wore Ed Hardy shirts (lol), but over the years it's gone downhill... I should give it a 3.5 star rating, but since I used to love it so much, I'll round up. It's almost impossible for me to get a burger that is not charred and well-done. Every time I've asked for medium rare or even rare, the burger has been well-done. To me, a well-done burger is a shitty burger. The cheeses and choices of toppings are great, but the bun somewhat kills it. There's too much bun in comparison to the meat. Perhaps the bun should be smaller or less dense. The fries are oily and soggy, not good. The onion rings though, are still pretty good. I don't hate the place now, but it's definitely not what it used to be. read more

If I don't get sick every time I eat here... it would have gotten 5 stars, but I always end up eating too much... because the food is SO good, I can't help it. If you are to split the #1, #2, #3 with your friend... you may end up paying same amount of $$ you would pay at Mc Donald's and get way better food here... because side comes with it, and there's plenty for two of you to eat and more. K,, So I went for Happy Hour, which isn't much, but it does have $4 Guinness shakes. Yep, a vanilla with chocolate syrup, and beer milkshake, which is SOOOO yummy. I know it sounds terrible, but you have to try it. Anyhoo.... The hamburgers and turkey or veggie if you prefer are Delicious. You have so many topping choices, its unbelievable. All types of cheeses, and additions like prosciutto and jalapeno bacon. The service kinda sucks if you ask me. The busboy was a sweetheart though. I believe they need more waitresses as some orders sat in the ready area for a while before the waitress could get it to the table. The Happy Hour is 7 days a week. Came here because of all the rave reviews about the sweet potato fries more so than for the burgers. The sweet potato fries are at best.. just normal fries that you can get anywhere. It's not even a matter of being over-hyped and me expecting the fries to be something-of-another-dimension-amazing, they really just were not that good. Period. What a great little diner! Really unlike any other diner. We've never been to a 24-hour joint that looks and tastes this good. It was such a pleasant surprise given all the tourist traps in the area. Had the "number two" burger. It's a quality sirloin burger with tomato, prosciutto, burrata cheese and pesto in a delicious, fluffy brioche bun. It was soooo good. The meat was a thick, juicy, and well-seasoned patty. The crispy prosciutto was a great alternative to bacon. The burrata was of great quality and melted perfectly. The pesto was fantastic, and it wasn't drenched all over or overpowering. It also comes with a huge "side" item. The sweet potato fries are decent, but the onion rings are delicious. The onion rings are thick slices of onion, coated in a flavorful batter, and fried to perfection. The batter can get a tad salty, but it is one of the best onion ring batters ever. I came here on a dinner date with a friend who is just as much of a burger fiend as I am. We came here on a Tuesday night, so there wasn't much of a crowd. This place reminded me a bit like Father's Office, minus the crowd and need to camp out for a table to sit down in. Our order was #1 burger and split onion rings and sweet potato fries for me, #3 burger and onion rings for her. The onion rings are to die for. The batter is absolutely amazing and if you order the garlic aioli sauce for dipping, it's heaven. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries, they were very good. But it's difficult to make sweet potato fries not good unless you make them soggy - then yuck. But there's were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummm. The burger is huge! There's also a lot of bun so it's difficult to actually fit your mouth around it to take an actual bite. The #1 was SO good, perfect blends of flavor in the patty, very juicy complimented with carmelized onions, bacon, gorgonzola crescenza, argula and thousand island dressing. My review pretty much falls in line with what others have said: the food is banging good, but the service is somewhat lacking. Hence the unfortunate star deduction. My slight beef (pun intended) with the service is mostly with the host...although I'm not sure there even was one. We came in from the Roosevelt Hotel and had to meander to the front of the restaurant, where there was no podium or anyone standing around to give some direction. We must have looked like lost lambs because a waitress at the bar finally shouted out to us to inquire how many were in our party. Kind of unusual method for taking down names, but whatever. We sat around for a while before someone else finally came around to acknowledge us. Once we were seated, everything was fine. Our waitress was friendly and gave some helpful menu suggestions. Just hearing the words "grilled cheese" makes my heart flutter, so we got that and the #2 burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were a very generous portion but were just a tad saltier than I'm used to. The grilled cheese was also rather big, and I started to get full halfway through my half of it. It was gooey goodness between two crunchy triangles of bread, which had a slightly sweet aroma to it. Not being a fan of sharp cheese, I loved that the cheeses were smooth and mild. Upon biting into the #2 burger, my taste buds were immediately tickled by some interesting flavor, which was probably the prosciutto. I didn't taste it again for the rest of the burger, but overall it was still very good. And the patty...big, juicy, savory, and perfectly cooked. Yum. It was 2 am and my friend and I were starving--using yelp we found out 25 degrees was just in the area we were in (Hollywood) and it had pretty good reviews. We heard the burgers were amazing and so we went with the #1 and #3 options. HUGE portions, great drunk food. A fan of the sweet potato fries and the #1 was definitely a hit. There was a mix up with the water order (we asked for still) and the waiter ended up bringing us a bottle of Voss. Before we could decline the Voss he unscrewed the cap and began pouring us two glasses. We later found out the bottle cost us $9. So I guess I learned my lesson--when dining at a restaurant in LA, ask for TAP WATER and avoid the confusion! Also, we found out that they hold credit/debit cards after 2am to avoid people skipping out. They proceeded to put a $6 charge on the card which was later cleared after the final receipt went through. I didn't know about this policy which the server didn't mention and ended up calling the restaurant/hotel to complain about. Another burger review! We aren't in Santa Monica anymore!!! Hollywood always has such energy...I love it. It's so different from the Santa Monica trendy, business lunch crowd that I'm used to. The boss and I ventured out here one day... what a long drive from the Westside and there really is no good way of getting here.... I had the #1 and the boss had the #3 turkey burger. We both enjoyed our burgers but it comes with a HUGE side of either onion rings, sweet potato fries or regular. It was WAY too much food for both of us!!!! I'm usually not a burger fan but this place was pretty good. You can basically order a set burger or create your own. The burgers come really big with a big bun so it's a little hard to fit in your mouth and it can get pretty messy. I came here at like 4am with my bf and a friend because the only open Thai restaurant nearby closed their kitchen at 3:30. Located at the Roosevelt Hotel in the heart of Hollywood, this is definitely frequented by a lot of tourists. But just because its somewhat of a tourist trap does not necessarily mean its bad, the food is actually very good. Had the Number One and it was awesome - burger was juicy seasoned well and the carmelized onions and bacon just balances the flavors out with its salty and sweet combination. I engulfed a Number One. Medium Rare lightly season heffer tucked in a Jurassic sized bun, combed over with a gourmet cheese, lettuce, tomato and drench with 1000 Island. 12 bucks. I downed a Stone Porter. It was on tab. It was on happy hour. It was dark, creamy, chocolaty and delicious. Came is a nice head and nice legs. Cool and refreshing. 4 bucks. I crunched on a mock Chinese carry out carton filled up with sweet potato fries. No sauce. I don't enjoy dipping sauce with my taters. I worship their natural flavor and texture. I don't want it masked in any way. The fries were limp. Almost like frozen. Lost their crunch and luster instantly. But there were scores of them. How many to be precise? I can't tell ya that, but many more than a Super Size Fry from McD's. $2. I slurped up a double chocolate shake. Since Pulp Fiction, the price of an alpha level milk shake went up a buck. Can't call it a Five Buck Shake anymore. The glass was muddied with Hershey's syrup. Beyond the decoration and the extra shake served in the aluminum mixing container, it was an average watery chocolate shake. The whip cream tasted like Reddi-wip. $6. I listened to their 360 song music mix featuring only top shit from the last year. Party Rock and Foster the People. Some Adele and house. At least no song repeated twice. I sat at the bar next to a couple of frat boy's coming down from the 4th of July pool party spitting game at a Barbie doll brunette waitress and pretending to listen to her sob stories while in the back of their heads thinking whether or not she is going to give them her number. She did. Good for them. Luckily, that woman wasn't my waitress. If so, I would have never received any service. Manny was my server. He was good. No bullshit. I'm a member there and it's 2.5 hours for free if you validate with them. I used the bathroom on the 3rd floor of the Hotel Roosevelt. I didn't bother using the one the wait staff instructed me to use. It was over flowing with the frat boys from the pool party. I wanted somewhere where I could do my business in serenity. Next to the 2 lane bowling alley, that's my jam. I walked out feeling I was definitely in the heart of Hollywood. 3 Rolls Royce's, 5 Italian Super Cars, 4 Bentleys, 20 scantily clad Caucasian female models, and 3 black muscular shirtless males adorned the exit/entrance. We came here because we had a show to go to at the Kodak theratre, and my friend heard good things about this place. I usually am not a fan of restaurants in/associated with hotels, but this was one of the better ones I've been to! I made my own burger, a veggie burger with avocado, arugula, mushroom and midnight moon cheese. The cheese was delicious!! They had a good selection of cheese, although each add-on was fairly pricey! Even though everything sounded flavorful and awesome on paper, it just translated into a drippy, greasy mess in my hands. The burger is 50% carbs (a FAT bun. I felt my own buns growing fat as I ate it), 30% meat (a huge patty, but pretty dry for medium), and 20% condiments (they're just there because the menu said they'd be). Not much love or effort in this burger, kind of like in a failing Hollywood relationship. Service was bland and perfunctory, even though we racked up a decent tab with alcohol, burgers and sides, and the lame Guinness Milkshake. I was REALLY turned off by our server leaning across the table and thrusting his hairy arm in my face while he refilled my water glass. Classy. Way to be discreet, dude. I like the fact that this place is in the Hotel Roosevelt (we spotted paparazzi going off as we walked in..), and the bar/lounge-y area in front of the restaurant is pretty cool. However, all of our burgers were ordered rare yet ended up being overcooked and did not even contain a hint of pink. Also the buns are extremely thick and end up detracting from the burger. Hit the spot and filled me up without that heavy feeling of meat/cream. *Also shared fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings with the table--all three were deeeelicious! Remember what I said about not having that heavy feeling? Maybe I lied a little... double-deep-fried-foods tend to do that to you. *I didn't eat a burger, but the burgers... wow. SO, SO, SO BIG. Layers on layers on layers of ingredients and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have fit in my mouth. No joke. LOGISTICS *Even late at night, there was a bit of a wait... but it went by quickly given all the people watching, etc. Once we got in, realized how small the place was, which explains the wait. *Our server was awesome! I've eaten here a few times and have good and not so good experiences. First off this is a burger and beer place, so of course that is what they do best. Being a non meat eater I have tried the veggie which is not that great and the yellow fin tuna burger is gross, the portobello is the only thing I'll eat now. This night in particular I had the tuna burger and it was not edible, we were thankfully comped our meal from Andrew the manager. I love this place. Any of the burger and fries options are among some of the best in all of Los Angeles. I would recommend getting a mix of fries for your group. Unfortunately I don't get to 25 Degrees nearly enough mostly due to its location in the touristville section of Hollywood Blvd, not an area that LA locals like to frequent. There prices are high but worth it. My one real complaint is this place can get busy and the wait is always longer than you would think, especially if you have a large party. read more

Came here for dinner with some friends after going to the Purge Breakout experiance. The atmosphere here is very dark and felt dingy to me. I coudl barely see who I was with and what I was eating. My group ordered 3 hamburgers, fries, and a veggie sandwhich. Everything was super greasy. Two of the burgers were not cooked as requested and the tomatoe soup that came with the veggie burger was also just grease with bits of tomatoe. Meh. That more or less sums up my experience here at 25 Degrees. Came here yesterday at the high ratings and reviews from Yelp and close proximity to my hotel. My brother ordered the number 1 and my dad and I ordered the number 4 with the sweet potato fries and onion rings. Burgers were $15 a pop (prices are not updated on the website)--I've had many'a burger in my day and this was probably the most underwhelming that I've had, especially for the price point. There was something odd about the bun's texture but I can't quite put my finger on it. The texture of the tuna for the number 4 was slightly mushy compared to other tuna burgers that I've tried. As far as the sides...the sweet potato fries were tasty and fairly standard for sweet potato fries that I've had elsewhere. The onion rings were okay. The presentation was nice though. The service was fair. The waiter seemed nice (and was easy on the eyes, which was extra nice) and our food did not take long to come out. Our fries and onion rings came out before the burgers, which we were all fine with because we were STARVING! My glass did reach empty for a little while but it was refilled when he came back around. All in all, we all finished our meals and left nothing on the plates, but this meal will only be remembered for how unmemorable it was. read more

Wasn't THAT impressed by the space or the staff (professional and cordial, but a tiny bit standoffish). But damn that was a good burger; called the "number one." Fries definitely could have been better though. I'd give 3 and 1/2 stars if Yelp would let you do a half star. But a major plus is that it is open 24/7. read more
