Updated review August 2026: Something changed about this place - probably the chef. None of the food tasted good this last time we went (which will likely be the last time). The bun rieu tasted funky with possibly bad tomatoes, the salad rolls were dry, and the chicken wings were not as flavorful as before. Sad. Oh, and the bathrooms always smelled funny.

Background on Visit: Decided to get a quick snack before going to Islands for happy hour at Islands. Stage Of Establish: Has been open 7 months Happy Hour Promo: Currently, they have $1 fried chicken deal. The minimum amount that you need to order is 8. Monday - Thursday: 230pm to closing and Friday- Sunday: 230pm to 530pm and 8pm to closing. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restrooms: They have two restrooms. One for male and one for female. Location/Parking: Located adjacent to Del Taco. Parking can be found up front or along Foothill. Ambiance/Decor: Nice ambiance with modern furnishings. They have a flat screen tv to watch while you eat. Service: Service was alright. Food/beverage didn't take long to come out. Food Of Choice: 1) Spring Roll: Thought the spring roll were good. Like the crunch and the ingredients they used. The only 2 complaints was that the veggies weren't as fresh (Noticed there were holes and pieces that were ripped off) and that it would be nice if they provided for veggies. I did like the dipping sauce (nuoc cham). Beverage Of Choice: 1) Lime Soda (Soda Chanh): I liked it. It was quite refreshing on this 97 degree day. 26 Viet Cafe For Thought: I'll give it some time before I come back. Hopefully, they'll be able have fresher veggies next time.

If I could give 26 Viet Cafe over 5 stars, I would!! Every single dish we ordered was SO good & flavorful!! The snack platter is a great way to sample apps and for sharing. The sizzling shaking beef fillet cubes had a peppery flavor without being too overpowering. The broth of the pho was delicious, no hoisin sauce needed!! The matcha drinks were also 11/10, you can tell they use ceremonial matcha because it was soo smooth and not powdery at all. A good amount of seating inside and there was no wait.

Good Vietnamese restaurant that recently opened in East Pasadena. Gave this a try due to SGV passport and was surprised by the quality of food and convenient parking. Shared a pho, chicken wings ($1 each during happy hour), and the SGV passport deal (lime soda and egg rolls). Pho had nice clean flavor. Wings were great value during happy hour - hot and fresh but needed just a little bit more flavor. Spring rolls were crispy. Service is friendly. Interior is new and clean. Parking is easy. I'd come again.

A quaint, recently opened, modern Vietnamese eatery located in Southern Pasadena near the border of Arcadia/Sierra Madre, the restaurant has a special, quiet appeal and atmosphere that immediately attracted me to the establishment. It was surprisingly quite empty on a Sunday afternoon, perhaps owing to my usually late lunch that day. Nonetheless, I got to enjoy quite the spread, with the Special Pho, 8 piece happy-wings priced garlic chicken wings, and a crispy add-on spring roll. The pho had delicious cuts of meat, a clean broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The chicken wings were quite flavorful, and had perfect crisp. They were all flats, no drumsticks. The flavors were on point and I appreciated the attention to detail and generous portions. Will certainly stop by again!

We have been here 2x in the last week and it have been positive dining experiences! We came here to redeem the offers from our SGV passports. The location has limited parking in front, but shares a parking lot with Del Taco and more spaces are behind the business. The serves seat you immediately as you enter. The location is quite spacious with various sizes of table for different amounts of guests. The menu has a lot of delicious options and each visit we have tried new things. The SGV passports let us try an order of Spring Rolls + a Lime soda. We have also tried their Pho to share and a Chicken Banh Mi on two visits. The staff are very attentive and always check on you. Food comes out very fast and all are presented nicely. The springs rolls are good and have a decent amount of crispiness in each roll. The P5 Pho we ordered included the Beef balls and brisket. Their pho is great to share and broth has nice flavors. The Chicken Banh Mi was grilled and has abundant amounts of flavor. I loved their bread as it added crunchiness in each bite. 26 Viet Cafe is a great spot for some Vietnamese food. We never knew about it before the SGV passports. I'd recommend giving them a try if you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine. ( ^_^)b

26 Viet Cafe is located in a plaza across Del Taco. Parking directly in front or nearby available. Came here to redeem an SGV passport deal: 1 Free 2pc Fried Spring Roll (Pork & Shrimp or Veggie) + 1 Free Lime Soda. We added a bowl of pho and a bahn mi to support the business. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time; we were seated right away. The cook on the spring rolls was really good; crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The proteins and veggies were finely chopped so that you could get a mouthful of flavor in every bite. I highly recommend! These were tasty and filling. The pho was your standard pho. Nothing about it stood out, but was still good. You can't go wrong with it. The Lime Soda was refreshing. It can initially taste a bit sour. Mix it well before your first sip. My husband enjoyed the Bahn Mi. I don't remember what sauce they used to coat the grilled chicken. It was tangy and a good balance between sweet and salty. He mentioned he liked the bread they used. Our server was a young gentleman. He was attentive to all the guests and maintained a professional demeanor. The restaurant is good for small or big groups. Overall, I recommend 26 Viet Cafe. I would love to try their other pho dishes like the 26 Special Wagyu Beef Noodle Soup and Beef Curry Noodle Soup in the near future.

    Welcome to VIET CAFE.

26 Viet Cafe is a relatively new Vietnamese restaurant on Foothill blvd in East Pasadena, known for its fusion of Vietnamese comfort food with a twist, offering dishes like pho, banh mi, and rice plates, with popular items including a large snack platter, crispy wings, and flavorful pho with beef ribs. Their menu has breadth of food and drinks that customers would like to indulge. Atmosphere was relaxing, welcoming perfect for everyday dining. Interior layout was spacious with minimal decor. I arrived late Friday evening and perused their menu; I ordered a Vegan Vermicelli (Tofu x Veggie egg roll). Its portion was above average and tastes good. Moreover, their service was mildly fast. Prices were reasonably fair albeit some appetizers/starters were expensive. Parking shouldn't be a problem because they're in a shopping plaza. Staff were attentive. Overall, this is a good Viet spot that opens late in the evening. I recommend it.

I've been on the hunt for a great Bò Lúc Lắc (Shaken Beef) for what feels like forever. It's one of my all time favorite Vietnamese dishes, and unfortunately, the last 10 places I've tried have all been disappointing. I decided to give 26 Viet Café a chance, and I'm so glad I did, it absolutely delivered. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and well maintained. They have their own parking lot, although it can fill up pretty quickly during busy hours. It's a family owned restaurant, and you can really feel that personal touch. What impressed me the most was the service. There was only one server taking care of 8-10 tables, answering the phone, and handling takeout orders, yet she remained friendly, calm, and attentive throughout it all. She never looked overwhelmed and did an incredible job making sure everyone was taken care of. She deserves a lot of credit. I also noticed many tables ordering family style, which is always a good sign. The portion sizes were generous too. Normally I have to order an extra side of rice with my meals, but the portions here were more than enough. Here's what we ordered: - Garlic Wings - A must-order if you're a wing lover! Crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. They're also the only happy hour food item. - Egg Rolls - Crispy, fresh, and absolutely delicious. - E6 Sizzling Shaken Beef Filet (Bò Lúc Lắc) - Finally! This is exactly what I've been searching for. Tender, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and easily the best Bò Lúc Lắc I've had in a long time. It was so good that I ordered another entrée to take home. - V5 Grilled Short Ribs with Woven Rice Noodles - Another outstanding dish. The short ribs were packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the noodles. - V2 Lemongrass Grilled Chicken - If you're a fan of lemongrass, this is a must-order. The seasoning was balanced perfectly, and the chicken was juicy and delicious. It's rare for me to order this many dishes and genuinely enjoy every single one, but 26 Viet Café pulled it off. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. I'll definitely be back to enjoy my favorites again and work my way through the rest of the menu. Judging by what I saw on the surrounding tables, the phở and bún looked incredible too, and they'll be at the top of my list on my next visit. Highly recommended. This is easily one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I've found, and I'll definitely be returning.

26 VC is in a small strip mall. Parking is limited but spaces are available. While facing the restaurant, homeless people congregate to the left. Do not linger in the lot to avoid getting pan handled. The restaurant is spacious. The lady who was waiting tables was super hard working on our visit. The food was about the same as other V. Places we have been to. Spring rolls were good. Chicken wings were very good but we do not like the lemon pepper sauce. The house special bowl was also good. Pricing is probably comparable to similar places. Payment is by cash, card, or tap. Overall, not a bad place and worth a try, but not a 5 star experience in our opinion. That said, we would definitely come back, and recommend them for a nice meal, just don't expect it to blow your socks off.

    House special combo rice

Came by 26 Viet Cafe in Pasadena and was impressed by both the food and drinks. They originally started in Vancouver and recently opened their first SGV location. The menu has a lot of variety and everything we tried tasted fresh, authentic, and flavorful. We started with the ube coffee and matcha coconut cloud. Both drinks were creamy, smooth, and strong in flavor without being overly sweet. Perfect pick-me-up drinks. The snack platter was great for sharing and came with fried chicken wings, spring rolls, egg rolls, grilled chicken, and pork. The standout for me was definitely the egg rolls -- super crispy on the outside and filled with meat, vermicelli, and wood ear mushrooms. For the mains, we ordered the house special combo rice, beef short rib salad, woven noodles with beef short rib, and the special pho. The meats had a delicious smoky grilled flavor and were cooked really well. The pho came loaded with different cuts of beef and the broth was rich, savory, and comforting. Service was friendly and the restaurant itself was clean and modern. Portions were generous and overall it was a really satisfying meal. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Pasadena area.

I really wanted to like this place, and I was excited because there are few options in Pasadena for Vietnamese food. -1 star for staff professionalism (Server yelling in the kitchen was a little concerning. Close the door next time because people are not here to hear you get mad about whatever drama is going on behind the scenes. Customers are here to eat). -1 star for the food being overly sweet. Never have I ever had such a sugary bowl of pho in my life. My 5 year old loves sugar and even she didn't like it. Meat was also well overcooked to the max and super stiff and dry. -1 a side order of a small bowl of noodles came out after our bowls of soup sat there for a total of 20 minutes. Ended up eating the soup lukewarm. -1 our server was a young man (he was working really hard and looked overwhelmed while a lady bossed him around and delegated tasks to clean tables while he served a majority of the restaurant. He was actually great, and we felt so bad for him. The lady took my payment and I commented how busy it was, in which she looked confused and said "uhhh no?" So I responded with "well that's funny because our side of plain noodles came out very late". This lady gave absolutely zero care in the world. Not a thank you, not a ho-hum, nothing. One star because the egg rolls were bomb. Other than that, nothing else was impressive. My daughter declared that dinner was in fact not dinner at all tonight. Pricing was reasonable, but not for the quality and lack of emotional awareness within staff. I wish I spent my money elsewhere because this experience was highly disappointing. I have broken down each star because I believe in communicating thoroughly on why each star is deducted. I hope this place cares more about their customers, organization, and quality of their broth especially. Crack a smile maybe? I mean... I would especially if the food is already lacking. Food for thought... Will not be returning.

I love authentic Vietnamese food, and this cozy spot also adds a touch of Cantonese flavor, along with some unique eats. They also have locations in Canada My favorite here: the crab soup vermicelli with soft shell crab So good all blended together with the flavorful soup. My friends love this butter frog leg Told you they have unique eats I am an obvious meat lover So I can't miss the skewers Which is just $7 for two IG: socalhkfoodies

Of course, I went in because I already know the quality of their food. I always find their noodles fresh and chewy, and the dishes are rich in texture and flavor. But this time, since I was by myself, I didn't order a noodle dish because I was just by myself. So, I ordered the beef roll, which is also to die for! Just really enjoy their food overall. If you've never tried Noodle Street before, definitely check out their menu and give their noodles a try. This particular location was clean, the staff was nice, and the wait wasn't long when I arrived. I would definitely come back again! I'd like to add one more detail. While I was waiting for my food, one of the staff members, possibly the manager, Justin, came over and asked if I'd like to have a small bowl of broth on the side. I said yes and was impressed by that offer. Why? This young man understood that I had ordered only the beef roll, which is a dry dish. Having a little warm broth on the side made it much easier and more enjoyable to eat. I had water, though, but I personally never drink water before or after my meal, so the broth was definitely a perfect complement to the beef roll. This is the first time in my Noodle Street eating history that I've been offered something simple to enhance my dining experience. A small gesture that I think is worth mentioning, as it showed that he was attentive and had very good common sense when it comes to customer service. Make sure to wrap them in lettuce and dip them in nuoc cham and you'll see why they're a must try. No reservations so expect a wait. Get there early to avoid the long line. They're open everyday from 10am to 8pm, except Wednesdays. Parking in the shopping center can be tough but there is plenty of street parking nearby. They have a second location in Temple City but I'd stick to the OG San Gabriel location. Try Golden Deli for amazing Vietnamese food at a reasonable price.

The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was in this establishment several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they only had lunch specials available from Monday - Friday at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is non existent. You will have to find street parking or local parking garages. Make sure to read the street signs well before parking. I saw someone get a ticket while walking to the restaurant. Food and Drinks: I got myself a peach jasmine iced tea. It came in an old school can type container, which was very unique and cool. The drink itself was very fruity, floral, and refreshing. As someone who loathes super sweet drinks and food, this was just right. Perfect for a hot summer's day. My dope ass friend and I ordered the spicy garlic chicken rice and shaken beef garlic noodles. The spicy garlic chicken rice is a signature wok dish featuring flash-fried chicken, broccoli, and jalapeños tossed in a bold, savory garlic sauce served over a bed of hot and fluffy rice. It also comes with some popular Vietnamese veggies like lettuce, daikon radish, and pickled carrots. The chicken itself was soft, tender, and flavorful. Truthfully, this dish was mid compared to that of the shaken beef garlic noodles. It was also a pretty hefty portion of food. The shaken beef garlic noodles were hella fire. You would be remiss if you didn't order this, y'all. That's like going to Disneyland during Halloween season and NOT taking a photo with the gigantic ass pumpkin. Tsk tsk tsk. Anyways, this dish had thick, incredibly tender, mouth watering, and juicy cuts of wok-seared beef tenderloin and buttered onions served over generous portions of al dente savory, garlic-loaded noodles. As a fan of garlic and onions, this dish hit the spot. Also, this was a "wet" noodle style rather than a dry stir-fry. The generous portion sizes make it a heavy, highly filling meal. Staff: So I arrived earlier than my friend. They technically were not supposed to seat me until my friend arrived, but because the restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived, they told me to sit down at a booth to wait for my friend. Thanks, Mariska. She was very welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
