Great place to get your Vietnamese fix! Just like most pho places, this place is totally casual. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet and it was good! It's leaning towards traditional since it had the tendon and tripe in the soup! Most pho places exclude these items. They also added a whole beef rib as well! The rib was off the bone, and had good flavor. I think it was cooked separately than the pho broth since it had a slightly different flavor than the broth itself. Nonetheless, it was excellent. We also had the snack platter, which is a menu item containing three tiers of food. From bottom up: grilled chicken and pork; steamed spring rolls, fried spring rolls; and chicken wings. This was a whole meal in itself.. just needed rice! lol The noodles were a bit clumped together, probably from being just slightly overcooked, but they still had their chewiness. The broth was flavorful, more compared to others.. a 7/10 Service was typical. Get seated, order your food, get served your food, and a check-in to see how you are doing. Get check, pay. Simple. This eatery has been opened about three weeks. I saw it and chose to test out their food. I ordered the lemon grass chicken with rice and salad. Came in when I was craving some soup and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, which is a spicy beef lemongrass noodle soup. I asked for no pig feet in my soup, and the server informed me that their BBH doesn't have that ingredient. The Bun Bo Hue was okay. It satisfied by soup craving, but the flavor left much to be desired. This BBH didn't have the kind of flavor depth and spice that I'm used to. I was driving around looking for lunch and decided to give the place a try. I think they opened recently. There is a large dining area and not many people there so was easily to get seated. We were excited to try a new vietnamese restaurant close by, but the pho my partner got was very salty, and the rolls by contrast weren't that flavorful even with the sauce. Food was good and they offered an unusual selection of menu items. Not your run of the mill Vietnamese food. It was midafternoon and didn't want to ruin dinner so we only got the snack tower. However, everyone around down to the last person had ordered the Pho soup. The soup bowl is huge and enough food to feed four people. It must be really good, the placed became packed a little after 12:45, which seemed odd, but every seat was taken. That's pretty amazing for fairly new restaurant, that's a pretty good endorsement. So we'll be back. Wish I could say the same for the service. Our server had no clue how to be a waiter. He brought the snack tower for the two of us. We tried this place twice. Both times were take out. The first time was not bad. Food was pretty tasty. The second time, however, the salad rolls did not look like how they're supposed to. Giant leaves of lettuce sticking out of the roll. The roll was not wrapped individually. They were wrapped together and so the moisture caused it to bust open. Please see photos attached. Mind you, we ordered the salad rolls the first time too and it definitely did not look the same. They were wrapped individually and looked great the first time. Came here with family to get some lunch. Place is big and spacious but not enough parking in the lot or on the street. As for the service it was kind of slow and when we ordered drinks for some reason my cousin's hot water never came and a soda took longer than the pho to come out. For food, we got egg rolls, vermicelli, banh mi, pho and mango sago dessert. I'd say the food was pretty good overall but it wasn't the best viet food we've had. Nice new Vietnamese pho place in east Pasadena'. Very modern and clean - food was good - pho and bun were both good . Salad options with grilled meats (go with grilled pork) was a good healthy paleo keto friendly choice. Vegetarian options too. I would had given this five stars but their service is a bit off still as if someone orders pho at the table the will get their pho way before anyone else gets their food and will probably finish their noodles before the other mains come which is rather strange as it was occurring at all the tables. The spa music inside is a little strange too for a pho Vietnamese restaurant (feels like a spa or massage place) but blends out once it gets busy. Service is helpful but a little overwhelmed with only two young servers in the dining room while the other two stay near the cash register. What looks like the owners (lady in leisure ware) just sits near the cashier and doesn't"t take the time to walk their small dining room to interact or check onl the guests like other small neighborhood family owned joints usually do so it doesn't feel like a family owned business - Take out available and plenty of parking in back and on the street. With not many other pho choices in the area they are pretty good but if you are willing to drive down to nearby Alhambra, Rosemead or San gabriel areas you might be better off. I might try again and hopefully the service will be better. Server said that there are no lunch specials just regular menu all day. Second chance review - came over a month ago and gave them a one star review previously. Sadly, again another one star review again. First, as I waited for a table to be seated, I saw a to-go order, getting pulled apart and repacked because of some confusion. Sat down and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to come take our order. Only ordered a bowl of pho and some eggrolls. The pho came out in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious but, the eggrolls came out as we finished the soup. The waitress that took our order basically forgot us and never checked back to see if we needed anything else. Had to ask someone else to help us, he was apologetic, saying the kitchen was busy. Honestly, they are understaffed and seems somewhat disorganized. As much as I want to like this restaurant, sadly the overall customer service needs to be addressed as I'm sure this will affect returning customers. Walked in at weekday lunchtime, perhaps a bit early since no one else was around. I was led to sit a singles table by the wall although there's plenty of open spaces. Front desk woman comes around and expected me to order as soon as I was handed the menu -- whatever. Playlist was blasting BTS as two male servers just standing around throwing profanity filled street talk to each other next to the TV. Viet iced coffee came with milk not shaken as pieces of congregated white chunks still floating atop the cup, must've have dumped three scoops of artificial sweeter into that thing as it was clearly undrinkable. Main course came with a piece of thin cut pork chop cooked in seed oil and spice extractives along with MSG to induce more carcinogens. Even the most basic viet broken rice was not cooked using short grain jasmine rice. Went to the front and hit by the thick Chinese-accented woman with "Well, next time just tell us to order half sugar" at check out. Yeah sure next time, more like never again. read more

Got takeout here and ordered the pork banh mi. I waited almost 20 minutes for it to be prepared and was disappointed. The sandwich was tiny and didn't have very much inside. The bread was just okay. I originally ordered the fried squid tentacles but sadly it was not available, so I pivot to the sizzling beef cubes and added rice. The other option was a baguette fyi. The cubes did not disappoint in presentation. It came out on a sizzling plate with two runny eggs and a sprinkle of cilantro that honestly, chefs kiss. I left it untouched so the bottom of the eggs can get fried and it did not disappoint. The onions were truly amazing in the black pepper garlic sauce. The cubes, evenly sliced, chewy, marinated to perfection, seasoned just right, paired with rice cooked the correct way makes me so happy. I delicately practiced intuitive eating so I could see how full this entire meal is and it is a lot of food. I packed up half of the cubes and rice to go for my dinner as I know this will be perfect as leftovers. Maybe pork chops aren't their strong suit...the flavor is definitely there but the only thing I have to criticize is the tenderness of it. Most of the actual meat on the bone (which kinda just has little bits and pieces, not like one or two big ones) is nice and soft but it's like the part near the bone which the tendon or whatever it is is just hard to even rip off the bone.
