I want to begin my saying I hate to complain. In the past when I have had issues at restaurants I always give them the chance to make it right prior to complaining. I want to say there are appropriate ways to make things right. For example a gift certificate to come back. That way the restaurant has the chance to earn your business back. I will start with making a reservation for 11. I was not told that the tables would be separated. I understand rules and had it been communicated this would not have been an issue. Next, we are seated. The wait person came to take our drink order within an acceptable amount of time. It did take a very long time for the drinks to be brought out. When they arrived we requested to order our food We were told and I quote, " I have another table that is seated and I have to go to them first." We could have accepted that although it was rather rude. However, the waitress proceeded to spend about 8 minutes at their table taking the order from a family that had just been seated. At this point given we had three small children, I went to the manager. By now we had been seated for 35 minutes and not able to place our order, but the table seated after us with 10 people placed their order. The manager told the waitress In front of us all that she could no longer wait on us. The girl that took over was not pleased either. We were trying to be very nice and patient but by now we had been there for 45 minutes. The other table got their food and were eating by the time we placed our order. We got the manager again thirty minutes later to ask where our food was since the server never checked on us or told us anything. She called the kitchen and took off running after it appeared either she had no answer or what we think the order had not been put in. At 6:48 our food arrived and the order was wrong. All the sides were wrong. We asked for okra. Which they then brought and told us we were not supposed to get okra. Fries were not exchangeable. I specifically asked if I could get okra instead and was told yes. My husband was so upset he barely ate and complained the entire time. My granddaughter did not feel good and the two year old needed to go home. I complained at the end of the meal and was told they are short staffed. The manager asked what she could do and I explained she should do something to the bill given the unpleasant experience and lack of service. So, had the right thing been done I would not be writing this, but what took place was a $15.00 charge for the okra they then took off and another $15.00 off of a bill well over a hundred dollars. Again, the atmosphere was amazing, the food was ok, and the service was the worst I have ever had. The manager handled the situation poorly as well or I would not be complaining. read more

There's not much to say about 2920 Roadhouse but--WOW...From the sprawling acreage of farm and fishing land to the bed and breakfast style dining area, amazing waitstaff and great live music- 2920 makes you feel like your in an experiencing a live action episode of Dallas meets Dynasty with all the drama. read more

As with any of my reviews, I hope that the establishments take them seriously, and that they are suggestions to have your establishment thrive not fail. I make my reviews honestly and do not want or need any offers of discounted meals etc. We had been anticipating our experience at 2920 for quite some time. We passed by there many times and finally got to go for a meal on a Friday night. As you enter the restaurant you do get a feeling of being at the neighborhood bar, but upscale. The owner, or what I think was the owner, was very nice and made sure we had all the information regarding upcoming events etc. We were seated at a small two top table near the bar and the service entrance for the kitchen. The restaurant is very well decorated and again has a very good feel to it. I think the mistake we made was sitting in the bar area. The bar tender was our server and the service was really not what we expected from this type of venue. We had a great time, however the service, could be more. On the particular night we went, there was not to many people there, so we could have received better service. The bar tender was more worried about conversation with other employees than she was of our drinks. My wife and I had one drink a piece, but this was not because we did not want more, we just were never asked. Thankfully we had water at the table to finish our meal. Next, the food, the food was very very good, from one to ten, I would say an 8, one being the least and ten being outstanding. I would definitely recommend 2920 to anyone looking for a nice evening! Husband and I celebrated our late wedding annivaersary this afternoon. We stop at 2920 Roadhouse. OMG!!! This is the best restaurant. My husband is allergeric to garlic. When we order something the general manager Garrett, came out and explain some things my husband ordered had garlic. Discuss what our options were. The fact Garrett sat with us, and talked to us like were friends. So we changed our order. And everything was fantastic. Even when I felt that we were being bad patrons. They assured we were not. The ambiance is a little weird. But the food is decent! Not the best I ever had but definitely worth a try!

This is a great place for a good steak. Wife and I both had filet minon and they were tender and juicy. It's not an every day place but is reasonably priced for what you get and the quality of food. Service was friendly and prompt. Ambience is homey and dress is casual. So great to have an upper scale restaurant in the Tomball area. We will definitely be back. read more

This place is a gem. Gorgeous location with exceptional customer service. I ordered an 8 ounce center cut, and it was the best steak that I've had in a long time. Our server, Carol, was prompt and gracious. If you are looking for a solid steak house and don't want to fight traffic and massive parking lots, this is your spot. 2920 Roadhouse is a Unique Restaurant that was once a house. They have a pretty good selection on their menu. The complementary monkey bread they offer was not that great. It appeared that it sat under a heat lamp for quite some time. The cheese was fried and the bread was harder than normal. The French onion soup and the chili was very good. The burgers and the Chicken fried steak was very good. We will return again but just won't get the monkey bread next time. They do offer dinner rolls instead of the monkey bread, your option. read more

Been here twice and haven't been disappointed. The brisket grilled cheese was great, and their special ribeye is fantastic. It's a huge cut of steak so is great for sharing. I've enjoyed all the sides I've tried as well. They could use a little help in making an Old Fashioned, but I won't hold that against them. Reasonable prices for really good food. Huge and delicious Cheese Burger. Unique and delicious fries. Burger was perfectly cooked. Can't wait to come back and sit outside under the giant Oaks and eat again. After start-up teething problems, 2920 Roadhouse in Hockley has finally arrived. Nestled amongst old oaks, 2920 Roadhouse is a relaxing drive away from Houston's traffic and cramped parking lots. They have a good menu selection, attentive staff, and a professional bartender, perhaps a mixologist. My steak cooked how it was ordered; sides were well prepared. Drinks and food all reasonably priced. If you're local to Magnolia, Hockley, Waller or Cypress, I recommend this new steakhouse. If you're not, it's worth the trip. read more

I've been here for the third time. I am crossing my fingers things in the kitchen get more efficient. The waiters and waitresses are hauling butt around this house restaurant but the food takes forever to come out. The food order was wrong. I asked for a Caesar salad and they came out with a small bowl of iceberg lettuce. Very plain. Underwhelming to say the least. I ordered a chicken fried steak and they brought out chicken fried chicken with the mash potatoes and green beans. Ugh. They don't have Jameson Irish Whiskey. The staff is so nice and friendly but they're still slacking on employees. We took a chance on ordering pecan pie and it was blah. We didn't finish pecan pie! It had clearly been over heated in the microwave and Carmel drizzle on top. They forgot the ice cream. They were gnice enough to remove the wrong order and the unappealing salad. Thanks for that. Please get more people in the kitchen and widen the doorway going into the second dining room downstairs! The staff can barely get by with their trays. I love the atmosphere and I don't want this place to sink. Hopefully as time goes on, the organization will improve. I'm complaining but I really want your restaurant to succeed! Went on opening day so that's the only reason I'm cutting them some slack... The location and property is gorgeous. The food was good. But it wasn't worth the 3 1/2 wait to get it. And definitely overpriced. Waited almost 45 minutes just to get our DRINKS. The waitress was constantly disappearing... I had to get up several times just to beg for some service and drinks.. :-/ In my opinion we should have gotten a discount or something for free because the service was that awful. The manager (I assume that's who he was) finally came over to our table after several complaints but didn't offer anything, he could have handled the situation a lot better. I'm sad to write this review because I had high hopes for this place. IF I go back it'll be months so I know they'll have all the kinks worked out. read more

Went on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all so I was a little worried, but it was awesome. I got the pulled pork tacos and they were great. They had lots of meat and I ended up taking two home. My daughter got a burger and it was great! My husband got the chicken fried chicken and really liked it too. I got two drink from the bar an old fashion and a mojito both were great!! We were so pleasantly surprised at this western style place to eat. We can't wait to go back! read more

Not a fan. My wife and I went with our daughter around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Restaurant was slow near empty. Service was prompt and friendly. Two of us ordered the $12.99 cheeseburger, medium well. Unfortunately both came very well done, over cooked and pretty much dried out. Curly steak fries were ok and a bit different but of the previously frozen variety. For the price, hand cut fresh potatoes would be the expectation. My daughter hardly ate the chicken sandwich, said it was dry as well... Interestingly, we couldn't help but overhear the couple at a neighboring table providing feedback that their steak ($48?) lacked flavor/wasn't very good but the green beans were good/fine. As much as we wanted to like, I don't think we will try this place again. read more

We had been told this was a good place to eat. So several months ago we had brunch. It was not great and the service was even worse. We thought that maybe it was just a bad day - NOT!!! We went for dinner with friends and it was terrible. The food was tasteless and the service was even worse. I had their smoked meatloaf with mushroom gravy - one of their specialties. The meatloaf came to the table and was so over smoked that you could smell it and without the gravy. Another person at the table had the same order and it had gravy. I asked and they said they would bring it right out. Ten minutes later I still did not have the gravy to pour over a terrible piece of over processed meatloaf. We will not be going back and I would recommend that people spend their money some place else. To top it off, they sent a cancelled reservation to Open Table and I did not even get the credit for the crappy meal. read more

Delicious!! We just left having a late night dinner with the whole family. As a party of 5 we were able to try 5 different items on the menu, chicken fried steak, pork chop, brisket grilled cheese, meatloaf, and chicken tenders. The chicken fried steak was perfect, not heavily breaded with the perfect amount of seasoning. The pork chop was like a brontasaurus chop!! Moist, cooked perfectly and delish! Brisket grilled cheese was as decadent it sounds with melty cheese and amazing smoked brisket. The meatloaf was pleasantly different that what you would make at home, it was GRILLED adding a flavorful smokiness that was pleasantly surprising. The chicken finger were cooked perfectly not overdone and dry. Some of the platters were served with these unusual fries that were crunchy yet "potatoey" and soooo addicting. Other plates were served with garlic mashed potatoes, I am not a fan of garlic potatoes but these were just right! The star of the show was definitely the chorizo cream gravy!! It was a strange but amazingly delicious addition..everyone needs to try it!! We also had 2 desserts the bread pudding and chocolate cake. The bread pudding had delicious flavor but was overly eggy, making it too soft and seemingly underdone. The chocolate cake was devine!! Not too heavy with a mousse layer that lightened up. We had the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer....it was the only disappoint. We received a bowl of queso with 1 small piece of artichoke in it, no spinach at all. The chips were stale, cheap thick generic ball park chips..not a fan. We did mention it to our server who apologized and offered to bring out another appetizer, but we declined. All in all we would definitely be back...often. The food was THAT good. read more

Nice setting amongst acreage and large oak trees. The food was very tasty. My husband had a steak. I had the shrimp which were a little over cooked however still had great flavor. I still give 5 stars because the sides were outstanding. The mashed potatoes are incredible. Don't fill up on the skillet bread that is brought out before the meal. Terrible service! We had a larger group of about 12 people. We made a reservation in advance so they could be prepared for a large party. We waited 30 minutes for our first drink, hour and a half for our food, and 45 minutes to get our check. They weren't even very busy! This was our first time to go there and I cannot remember ever having such a terrible experience. We ordered right after we were seated and waited for over an hour to get our food. They brought my steak dinner out without a steak knife and forgot to bring the toddlers green beans (which she could not eat because they weren't cooked when they did arrive) , they didn't get our salads to us until we were finished eating. Could not get a refill on out plastic cup of tea. I went to speak to the manger and told her she could have her salads back I wasn't paying for them just want my check for the other stuff and several cups of tea. She told me they would not charge for the salad however on the receipt it was not refunded. Took us another 30 min to get out of there. I would not ever recommend this place to anyone to go eat, very pricey and really crappy service!!! read more

May have been good when it first opened; but, it has gone way downhill in my opinion. Steaks are substandard (think truck meat), wine list is sorely lacking (is their distributor the corner convenience store?), ask for butter and they bring you margarine. Margarine!! I'd rather eat at McDonald's. Too bad cuz it could be fabulous; scratching my head as to why the owners are shooting them selves in the foot. read more

What a wonderful place they have made here. It was our first time and we really enjoyed it. I had the sirloin and it was cooked exactly the way I like it (rare) and the seasoning was quite tasty. The fried green tomatoes were spot on. My son had the badass burger and couldn't finish it. I read about the bread however we were not brought any but I'm not going to complain about it as the food, the atmosphere and friendly service was over all fantabulous. Cheers!! read more
