    Seafood fried noodles

606 took over the legendary New Sun Hong Kong spot--a neighborhood staple since 1989 known for its iconic hanging floating books outside on Broadway. It has been reimagined by the next generation of the family as a vibrant reboot that honors tradition while bringing fresh energy to Chinatown/North Beach. I came back tonight to sit down for a full meal, and the house was completely full--I love seeing them do so well! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by one of the owners, Eugene. He was super friendly, welcoming, and focused on making sure we got seated. His hospitality genuinely can't be beaten anywhere; he immediately made us feel like family. Thankfully, a couple of tables were finishing up their checks, and he had us seated in no time. We ordered the wonton noodle soup, seafood fried noodles, and garlic Chinese spinach, and the food came out fast! Everything tasted great, and unlike so many restaurants nowadays that serve individual-sized portions under the guise of "family style," 606's portions are huge and wonderfully generous. Wonton Noodle Soup: The broth was flavorful without being overly salty, and the wontons were packed with plump, tender shrimp--they definitely don't skimp on ingredients! Seafood Fried Noodles: Executed perfectly with just the right amount of savory sauce so the noodles retained that satisfying crispy, crunchy texture. Garlic Chinese Spinach: Cooked just right--not too soft and not undercooked. I'm so glad we came back to sit down and dine in. Not only do Eugene and his team make you feel right at home, but the food is fantastic, hearty, and full of heart. Highly recommend!

In town for a work conference and my Airbnb motel was just across the street. Yelp reviews were legit so I walked over to grab a solo dinner to go. They were just launching their kiosk orders and I was directed to use that for ordering and ask for help if needed. I chose soup dumplings and garlic noodles. I wasn't prompted about any additional sauces for dipping and I wish I had been offered them or have them as an option in the kiosk. It was ready pretty quickly and the fast walk "home " was perfect because I was super excited to dig in! Noodles were a little dry and I wish there was more sauce or some soup sauce or something but the actual flavors were well balanced and satisfying. I wish I would have sat in the restaurant instead of taking it to go. I feel like the location really adds to the ambience and it would've been fun to people watch through the windows.

I love that the restaurant remaining in the family from back when it was Sun Hong Kong. We had many great memories and frequent there for the live seafood decades ago. Simon said they are considering bringing back the fresh seafood option which I would vote for since that what I used to eat even at midnight snack back then. Overall, friendly services , clean and lively ambiance. up coming young chefs upholding a long time family business with a modern twist but still authentic is a great way to keep the Sun Hong Kong legacy for old timer like myself continue to come back and support.

I was craving chinese and this satisfied my craving. I will say it's not like your ordinary chinese food, it has a different taste to it which i didn't mind. The soup dumpling was so good!!! Def coming back for just the dumplings!

Traditional Chinese cuisine meets modern atmosphere! Being Chinese, I have a higher standard for what Chinese dishes can and should be. (That sounded really snobby, I apologize ) Dim sum is comfort food for me, and 606 knocks it out of the park! Cha siu bao (Bbq pork bun) has a light, fluffy bun and the pork is in the sweet spot between sweet and savory. The siu mai and the shrimp dumplings were very traditionally seasoned and delicious! Mongolian beef was excellent with a subtle kick to it, I didn't expect. Sesame balls and custard buns were nice sweet treats to wrap up the meal. Restaurant was bright, clean, and air conditioned. Some dim sum restaurants can be a little humid and stuffy. IYKYK Owners were very nice and willing to answer any questions we had. 5 star experience!!!

I'd say this rating is between a 3.5 and 4 star. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. It's right on the edge of Chinatown and little Italy, a short walk away from the Portsmouth parking garage. The servers were pretty nice and recommended a few dishes to us. We loved the milk tea we ordered, it was just the right sweetness while being very rich in flavor. We ordered the beef chow fun, crispy combination chow mein, sichuan green beans and Simon's garlic chicken. Everything was pretty good, but the beef chow fun needed a bit more wok hei and the chicken and green beans were pretty small portions for the price. The Simon's garlic chicken was basically just a sesame chicken, I can see why people new to Chinese food would like it, but was mostly pieces of fried coating. Our favorite was definitely the crispy chow mein, which had lots of meat and good flavor. Overall, I'd probably recommend other spots in Chinatown for authentic Cantonese fare, but this place was clean and good in a pinch.

Wanted to avoid the ritual of going to North Beach and get Italian and getting a pastry somewhere. Decided on China Town went to Yelp to find a place and here we are. Ambiance Very modern restaurant very clean. Customer Service Host asked us if we had reservation and we did not, we were seated shortly, thank u. We had a male server but got switched halfway thru service. He was very polite and suggested garlic chicken or salt and pepper fish, he was right. Salt and Pepper Fish Did not look like much however this fish was breaded and cooked perfectly. Fish was moist and so much flavor. 606 House Fried My wife loved it. I liked it alot. Will return to try the garlic chicken next time.

I'm not one to choose American Chinese food but yes to Hong Kong /cantonese cuisine. We had mostly vegetarian dishes for our friend. I really enjoyed the quality of the food here. The 19$ fried tofu with string beans was crunchy on the outside and soft & airy on the inside; it was addictive. The 19$ signature chow mein was not oily and the vegetables are fresh. The 10$ veg potstickers were perfect. The 7$ Hong Kong milk tea had a whole ice cube made of the milk tea, I do think it needs a bit more condensed milk as it lacked that sweetness. Everything was great as we were seated next to a window and it was just great weather outside. The servers and owner checked up on us, making sure everything's good. I do wish to try the Hong Kong dishes next time :)

We stopped in 606 late on a Friday night, it had a que and iPad to text to put name and number down. We were able to get seated prior to closing, and the place is clean, large, and modern. Overall our group of 4 wasn't so happy with the food, in particular absolutely skip the BBQ baby back ribs. Not only is the portion small, but it's practically no meat and all cartilage and bone. I had a really tough time chewing any of it, and getting any meat from it. Besides that we got a standard kung pao chicken and chow mein that were both good, but small portions if sharing.

We had a pleasant experience here the other night. The service was very good. The ambiance was very nice. I liked the set up of the dining room and the chairs overall it was 3.5 stars but im being nice& rounding up. The food was not bad at all, in fact we both thought it was decent but nothing about it stood out in anyway to me personally. It was lacking depth of flavor so I aksed for soy sauce and chili oil which they did bring out. Every dish was good but the food was not coursed, cramming all 4 dishes on the table at once. The chowmein was bland and noodle to veg ratio was off.Good but nothing spectacular.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in SF, located on Broadway at the intersection of Chinatown and North Beach. If you're a longtime SF resident, 606 is ran by the sons of the owners of the legendary New Sun Hong Kong. We love coming here for dim sum, lunch and dinner - even my parents love this place! Here are my favorite dishes: 1. Crispy Noodles Hong Kong style with combo BBQ pork, seafood and chicken 2. Sweet & sour pork ribs 3. Honey walnut prawns The food hits the spot, the service is amazing and the location is perfect for a post meal gelato (try Lush Gelato just up the street) and/or night cap (I love going to Comstock Saloon) 606 is such a gem and definitely gets 5 s for SAFAV: Service Ambiance Food Alcohol Value for Money

My friend said people raving about their milk tea. Being a milk tea enthusiast, I had to try it. Verdict? It's legit!!! To truly taste of if a milk tea is good, you have to taste the hot one and it's not as hot as I hope for, butt the smell and flavor is there. Beef chow fun - For authentic HK style cuisine, sweet and sour pork and beef chow fun is the standard test. Verdict? I liked it! It's got wok air (鑊氣), flavor is good and the One thing I like is the chow fun is not oily. That's skill and a big plus. Their hot sauce goes really well with the chow fun. Personally, I preferred the onion to be well done so it emits the sweetness into the chow fun and the beef. Simon's garlic chicken - Not what I expected. The garlic sauce is not the common 魚香醬, pretty good actually. What I liked about it is the crispiness of the chicken with the light batter. Sauce not too overwhelming. Now I'm curious what the sesame chicken is like. It's too bad this is not located in the south bay like Los Altos, Cupertino, Sunnyvale. Would have been a big hit. It's slightly out of place with China Town crowd.

Iconic Hong Kong Style cafe located in SF's Chinatown- 606 delivered on bold flavor, service and fresh Cantonese food. The vibe of the restaurant is relatively upscale- with an extremely professional staff. I got the pork dumplings and the sesame chicken. Wow- every note was electrically flavorful! The pork dumplings were tender, comforting and savory. The chicken itself was garlicky, crispy and warm with the white rice complimenting the entree well. I can see why 606 is a classic, fun vibe with authentic food.

Anyway, having tried it, I can say it was good, but not so good that I'd expend that much energy to secure the reservation. Have to say, service was really great. Servers were attentive without being overbearing, which is always welcome. We ordered several dishes and dined, as they suggested, family style. To start, we were given two complimentary dishes, the roasted peanuts and the smashed cucumbers; both were nice appetizers. We ordered the Chiu Chow green beans, the Mongolian beef noodles, the claypot rice with lop cheung and bacon, the salt 'n peppa prawns, and the whole fried petrale sole, the last two being on the day's "specials" board. The winning dish was definitely the green beans. All the food was good, but seemed to be a bit overly salted and highly spiced. The piece of beef I had from the Mongolian beef noodles was tender, but one of my friends thought her piece was a bit tough and too chewy; we all thought the beef could have been cut into smaller or thinner pieces. We also shared two desserts since it was a birthday celebration (there are only three options offered). We had the red bean shaved ice and the mango pudding. Both were good (not "oh, boy, yummy" good, but good). Nice to try. The price wasn't outrageous ($200 including tax and tip), but I think this will be a "been there, done that" experience for me unless a friend absolutely wants to go again.

We got the A Banquet menu for 5-6 people with some dish add-ons. Going down the list of items I tried: - Salt and Pepper Dungeness Crab: My favorite dish from here. The meat could've been more succulent, but this was still great. Especially liked the jellyfish texture. - Crystal Prawns w/ Pine Nuts: Solid, not mind-blowing though. - Black Pepper Steak Cubes w/ Macadamia Nuts: The steak was tender and flavorful. I also enjoyed the crunchy macadamia nuts. - Fresh Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup: Generous amount of crab and fish meat and was warm and comforting. You do have to self-season though. - Roasted Chicken: My first time having a chicken cooked like Peking duck and this was great. I liked the crispy chicken skin. The meat was on the dryer side, but it is chicken meat. - Virginia Ham with Tender Greens: Interesting name for this dish lol. This actually quite good and flavorful. We got this instead of the dried scallops which was part of the Banquet A menu which was odd. This wasn't communicated to us. - Crispy Thai Style Sea Bass: This was just okay for me and too sweet and sticky for my taste, but my other family members really enjoyed this dish. - Yang Chow Fried Rice: Solid fried rice that went well with all of the dishes. - Crispy Mixed Seafood Noodles: Standard, nothing mind-blowing. This one is located across the street from Safeway and it is strictly a takeout only, mostly BBQ items and Chinese home style dishes. Whole roast duck is now $34. There is a 3% sur charge if you use credit card. Free run chicken is $8.50 per pound and a whole is almost 3 pounds so $25. The chicken was tender and the ginger sauce helps with the white breast parts. It helps with ordering if you speak Cantonese here. There's usually a line earlier in the day and it's a no frills neighbor place that has been around for decades.

Situated on the second floor, Hong Kong Clay Pot Restaurant, is elevated above the rest, literally and figuratively with their quality of food and service, high churn and freshness, and comfort in dining space. Upon climbing the carpeted steps up to the restaurant, we were greeted by the staff and were seated by the window. Despite being located in a building with no air conditioning, the heat doesn't linger much here when the windows are open feeding in the fresh bay air. Furthermore, the spacing between tables is efficient allowing them to pack tables for large and small groups alike but still have enough room to eat comfortably. We were given menus and offered tea and waters to get us started. The menu is quite extensive beyond clay pot dishes as it includes many popular favorites typical of Chinese restaurants (noodle and rice dishes, chicken/beef/pork, and veggies) but also eclectic options like frog legs. For those looking to quench a thirst, they have soft drinks out of cans, bottled juices, beers, and wines. The menu is full of pictures so you'll get a nice visual of what you'll expect to feast on. Naturally, we got a few things as were famished from the day full of adventure. Salt & Pepper Frog - these crispy and meaty bits are lips smacking good; they're great starters for the meal as well as an introduction to some exotic food Snow Pea Sprouts with Garlic - cooked really well with large chunks of garlic. Seasoned well but it does have a bit more oil than your typical home cooking - so delicious though! Dried Bean Curd Lamb Clay Pot - protein rich dish with succulent chunks of lamb and tofu slathered in a sauce in search of a bowl of rice to pair with. Just one of these can easily feed two! Beef Stew Clay Pot with Bean Curd & Mushroom - juicy pieces of beef and braised tofu and mushrooms hit home with a nice balance of protein and veggies. This hearty dish will fill you up. Steamed rice - nothing special, but it does cost extra and doesn't come with any of the clay pots. You're going to want some so make sure you get a bowl or two. The service is exceptional here compared with other sit downs of this caliber in Chinatown. The staff members are personable, quick to serve and refill beverages, and accessible when the need arises. It does get busy here so the small staff may have trouble during rushes. Given the older building, naturally the small bathroom is expected. Surprisingly though, they have free WiFi here so I suppose for those looking for a pit stop in your city trek to regroup or for the locals looking to camp a bit for work, you've come to a great place to grab a bite too! Overall, Hong Kong Clay Pot represents the Hong Kong cuisine exceptionally well and is accessible, affordable, and delicious. The menu covers a variety of items and will be sure to satisfy everyone in your party. Everything is made fresh and is balanced in flavor, texture, and nutrition. Tourist or local, you'll be welcomed with hospitality. Each meal is meant for family style and will be sure to fill each stomach up while encouraging community building during your dining experience. Get a taste of Hong Kong simply by stepping foot into San Francisco Chinatown!

We ordered : - Braised beef wonton noodle soup : noodles had that perfect springy bite, the broth was light , well seasoned & comforting. The braised beef was melt in your mouth tender, and the wontons were fresh, plump, and juicy. Everything was on point. - Fish porridge : I appreciate that the congee is not too soupy/ watered down. It was hearty and fish was delicately cooked just right, not dry or rubbery like some places. - Curry fish balls with pork rind : Good side dish, nicely seasoned with a spicy kick which we loved. Parking was relatively easy, there's metered spots across the street. Service was fast & efficient, the aunty who served us was super friendly and on top of everything. The interior is clean and comfy with a chill, welcoming vibe. Definitely planning to return, especially for another bowl of that beef noodle soup!

We got the Cantonese Roast Duck bone-in with a combo of rice and veggies and the Sweet and Sour Pork. The duck is juicy and crispy, definitely the star of the show. I liked the meat juices to dip it into, and the plum sauce was good as well. Definitely needed the rice and veggies to cut through the oil. The Sweet and Sour Pork was good; I've never had it with lychees in it, and it was surprisingly very nice! The meat was a little dry but the sauce balanced it. It's also another dish that you need some kind of rice or carb to really soak up the sauce in. Great duck in a nice atmosphere, a little pricey but a crowd pleaser. Waiters were a bit slow with water refills because it was so busy. Just as a heads up, I had no reception inside of the building but I got reception instantly when I stepped outside.
