Even though I had a long list of bookmarked restaurants for when we were in Carlsbad, our day at Legoland wiped us out. I didn't want to drive out, so we settled with 7 mile kitchen located inside our hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised with our experience. To be honest, I didn't expect it to be very good, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. We had the pappardelle bolognese, the ribeye steak with garlic fries, and pepperoni pizza / mac & cheese off the kids' menu. The pappardelle was very good. This was meant to be an adult's dish, but our kids gobbled it up instead. The mac & cheese was also surprisingly good and big in portion considering that it's a kids entree. We asked our rib eye to be cooked medium, and it was a bit too rare for me. We asked them to cook it a bit longer for us, but they ended up giving us a whole new one instead! My family and I visited this restaurant as part of a large group for a birthday party. While we were not the hosts of the party it seemed like everything was run smoothly. The main server was sure to check on everyone in the party. They let us know which drinks and food were included in the party. The service for a large party, over 20 people, was fantastic. The server handled the large party very well and was incredibly accommodating. The flow of food and drinks being served was perfect. No one seemed to have to wait long for drinks and the next course of the meal. They had pre ordered food, which included The Power Plant pizza and the Harvest Salad. The pizza had hummus as opposed to the typical red sauce. It was a pleasant unique idea. The pizza was loaded with veggies! I can't tell you the number of veggie pizzas I've gotten over the years that skimped on veggies so I was especially thrilled to the the mountain of veggies. The crust is what really made the pizza. I can only assume they're made fresh in house because it was too good not to have been. The salad was good as well. Nothing particularly note worthy about it but good all the same. There's also a little gelato bar that our party host has included in the meal. They had 2 vegan friendly options if I recall correctly. I chose the mango. It was delicious! I expected it to be an icy sorbet flavor, which would have been ok, but instead it was a wonderfully smooth creamy treat. My husband and I have dined here twice in the last two days. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both times have been phenomenal. It is real good, cooked fresh. I tried a few items here. Service was always friendly, even for pick up orders. The Starbucks coffee was good. You gotta start the day with a "cup of life" with a long day ahead! Cornbeef hash was okay. It was mostly potatoes. It would have been better with more ketchup and maybe hotsauce, but it was for pickup so good enough. I also went there for happy hour, 10 bucks on appetizers, and 2 dollar off drinks! The meatballs and calamari were good but not good enough to order more. Back again 2 months later...again, check in at yelp to get your 20% and eat during HH (4 to 6pm everyday even weekends) for maximum savings!! These were all $10 during HH: --We got pepperoni pizza (called ponto pizza), normally $17; chicken fries (normally $14), wings (normally $15). The pizza was great, made in a real pizza oven, with thin crispy crust and great tomato pizza sauce. Definitely recommend! --The wings were smoked and great flavor (I got 5 drumsticks and 1 wing but wish it were the reverse b/c wings taste better even though drumsticks have more meat). Definitely recommend! --We didn't care that much for the chicken fries, which was basically the substitute for the previous poutine dish. It was nachos with waffle fries instead of tortilla chips. It came with smoked chicken, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo--too many flavors, too many things going on. It would taste better with nachos truly. Do not recommend. --We ordered beet salad from the regular menu--argula salad with some quinoa, beets, goat cheese, mandarin oranges, nuts. Outstanding food, service, and environment! My wife, two small children and I recently stayed at the Sheraton resort for our visit to Legoland and the surrounding area. While the accomodations at the resort and all staff we met were awesome and friendly, the staff at 7 Mile were nothing short of outstanding. Our first visit to 7 Mile was for dinner after a very long day at Legoland. I had the Cobb salad with shrimp and my wife ordered the short rib hamburger. We also split the fresh pretzel with sauces. Our kids ordered the hamburger meals off the children's menu along with gelato for dessert. All of the food was outstanding in presentation and taste, with large portions and reasonable pricing. Our server, Michelle, provided us with prompt, professional and personalized service and was great with our kids. She brought my wife a beer sample before she ordered it and was very attentive to my family. The next two mornings we had breakfast at 7 Mile before heading out for each day's activities. I had the huevos rancheros one morning and the 7 Mile bacon/eggs/toast/potatoes the next morning. Our kids ordered the chocolate chip and regular pancakes. The food was excellent. Our servers for both mornings, Henry and Lindsey, were incredible in all aspects and so great with our kids. Both Henry and Lindsey remembered our names and our children's names, engaged us and our children in personalized conversation, and did everything possible to make our breakfast experiences a pleasure, including when Henry brought my son a complimentary extra large pancake after my son said he was still hungry after he finished his breakfast, haha! Henry also made sure I had a hot to-go coffee for our long ride back home. Lindsey talked with us at length about our vacation and also about our vehicles! Henry and Lindsey were truly awesome and we enjoyed them so much. It is truly a pleasure to eat at a restaurant when we are able to experience servers like we did, and will definitely make us return in the future. Hidden hotel restaurant in the Sheraton/Legolands hotel area. First came upon 7 mile from a Yelp event and we really liked the Caesar salad and the pizzas. We came back to sit on the patio and watch the game while watching the sunset. We got some out of the ordinary cocktails- like a French Martini and a Grapefruit sour and the bartender made it very well. Probably one of the better grapefruit sours I had. The pizza- we got the wild mushroom, arugula and prosciutto pizza. They can make really good pizza. The Caesar salad is amazing. They actually put anchovies and it's delicious. The gelato was good too. The pastries were horrible and you should skip (from the counter). One thing that they need to improve is the service. It was extremely slow. Like super slow. Not sure if they were so busy, but just need to step up their game in that department. Otherwise, great place to grab some cocktails and pizzas. read more

Got full off some yummy apps and cocktails! :) I did have a hard time finding the place though because my GPS was bringing me to the middle of the street, but it is located on your left hand side, at the roundabout for drop offs by the hotel lobby. The lobby and restaurant was spacious and clean with modern decor and a pretty fireplace. The gals and I shared four appetizers with each other: -cast iron fennel sausage meatballs, which were three hearty pieces that had tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and basil. It was my favorite dish out of the four -smoked chicken fries, which was basically loaded waffle fries. It came with chicken, pico de gallo, guacamole, queso, and salsa. We were surprised how big the serving was. Tasty! These were probably my second favorite -wild mushroom polenta was presented nicely and came with what I think was a gravy? The polenta and that sauce paired very well together and enough for us to all share -lemon herb smoked wings were good and smokehhhhh. Came with about 5 wings. The wings were good by itself and we know this because we didn't realize the lemon herb was not on the wings and was served on the side! Cocktails were refreshing and delicious. They had different kinds like with cucumber, berries, and even a hot chocolate with tequila. Their menu was not updated though and the other gals wanted a drink that was unfortunately not available Service was friendly, especially from the boss man there. 7 Mile is an excellent hotel restaurant/bar inside of Sheraton located on the coastal inland side Carlsbad. I really loved my experience here, the only bummer was a drink that I was looking forward to trying was not available (I believe they said it wasn't in season anymore or something like that, but it was still on the menu). That was sort of a bummer and another person in my group who wanted a special drink from their cocktail menu experienced the same answer. Other than that the server was awesome and the manager was very friendly! I tried their "Cool as a Cucumber" drink which was refreshing. And I really loved all the food items I tried which included: -Smoked Wings- yum lemon pepper goodness on the side! -Polenta- so savory, get in my belly! -Smoked Chicken Fries- plentiful and delicious! -Cast Iron Meatballs- tender and tasty!
